Suspicions of Brooks Ayers and Vicki Gunvalson continued to mount Monday on The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 10 Episode 16.
Immediately after the couple broke up this summer, the controversy over whether Brooks Ayers’ cancer is fake began airing on the Bravo series.
Brooks has been, admittedly, a shady person in past seasons.
If he weren’t, no one would run with these rumors in the first place or even think twice about them. So that’s a point that should be made earnestly.
Did Meghan King Edmonds cross a line with her interrogation last week, and does Vicki have a right to be upset? That’s a very different question.
What do Gunvalson’s other friends think about the situation?
Heather Dubrow, Tamra Barney and Shannon Beador took it to Vicki this week, grilling her over rumors and “inconsistencies” regarding Brooks.
Whether they love gossip mongering or are genuinely concerned, or maybe a little of both, we can’t say. But they all wanted her to do one thing:
Get Brooks to divulge his medical records and settle this.
If you watch The Real Housewives of Orange County online, you know this has been an ongoing issue and will likely continue to be for some time.
Again, Brooks has totally been a shifty character in the past. But when it comes to his cancer and “inconsistencies” in his story … evidence is thin.
He’s not asking anyone for money or using cancer to gain or avoid anything that we can think of. Nor is there hard proof that Ayers is lying. At all.
Asking him to prove the opposite, as Vicki says, feels “unconscionable” and rightly so … yet people are sure he’s lying about some or all of this.
It’s a bizarre situation, and the fact that Vicki and Brooks broke up right before this all started playing out on TV has piqued viewers’ suspicions.
“This is a group of people that love you,” Heather Dubrow told Gunvalson, noting that Ayers’ doctor doesn’t even have a background in oncology.
Gunvalson was unmoved, telling the cameras, “It’s not any of Heather’s business” and she’s not “feeding a monster that’s never going to be full.”
Later, Shannon Beador asked her why didn’t he chose to use Beador’s recommended doctors, after she’d gone out of her way to try to help out?
Gunvalson’s new answer?
“I’m trying to be as strong as I can be. I feel betrayed, I feel sad. When you’re a friend, you’re a friend. I don’t know how to end this, I just don’t.”
“Ask Brooks. I’m done.”
Is she, though?
