Like teardrops on one’s guitar, the feud between Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift may finally have melted away.
For several years now, two of the most popular superstars on the planet have not seen eye-to-eye, mostly due to how Taylor believes Justin has treated her best friend, Selena Gomez.
The couple formerly known as “Jelena” has been the human embodiment of a roller coaster.
They’ve been up, they’ve been down, they’ve been caught in endless loops of love, hatred, lust and friendship.
Ever loyal to her #Squad, Swift has, of course, been on Team Selena since the beginning of this romantic ride.
“Taylor hates him,” an insider told Us Weekly way back in August of 2013. “She thinks Selena makes a mistake every time she reconciles with him. Bieber has really come between the girls.”
And Bieber has been well aware of Swift’s disdain for him.
“He complains Taylor’s always telling Selena she can do better,” another source also told the tabloid.
Who can ever forget when Swift got grossed out backstage by a simple Justin and Selena peck on the cheek three years ago?
So… why do we think this feud could now be over?
Consider the following Instagram video shared by Bieber.
It features him singing along to Swift’s smash hit, “Teardrops on My Guitar,” clearly a sign that the artist is willing to throw an olive branch Swift’s way:
And it looks like Taylor is willing to accept it! She actually went ahead and Liked the clip:
As recently as April, at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, it appeared as if Swift was shading Biber, reacting with extreme nonchalance over his performance.
But that was then. This is now.
Forget Israel and Palestine. The world really needs Justin and Taylor to get along. Perhaps this is the first step.
