Serena Williams Eats Dog Food, Immediately Regrets It

Serena Williams has made it very clear over the years that she can hold serve.

But holding down her dog"s fancy, expensive dinner? That"s an entirely different matter.

In a series of Snapchat videos that depict a very different side of the greatest women"s tennis player of all-time (this is not up for debate), Serena explains that her three-year old dog, Chip, spends a lot of time on the road.

This is what happens when you"re owner plays in tennis tournaments around the globe.

As a result, Chip rarely eats his regular dog food. (We guess we can"t refer to it as "regular" in that case, can we?).

He does get to stay in very nice hotels, however, some of which even have special dog menus. And that"s what brings us to this clip.

While in Rome, Williams ordered Chip a meal of salmon and rice.

It so closely resembled the sort of salmon and rice that she would order that she had an idea: why not try it? Why not see what it tastes like?

To prove how much the dog food looks like person food, Williams even showed a plate of it to the camera.

“I’m like, what the heck? I’m going to try a piece. It looks good. So I ate a spoonful. Don’t judge me,” she said.

So she tried it. And what happened next?

“I just ran to the toilet like I was going to pass out,” she said, adding two hours after the incident: "Now I feel really sick."

For the record, however: Williams felt well enough to play the day after this experiment, taking to the court on Thursday and beating Christina McHale, 7-6, 6-1.

So she learned a lesson and then she went out and taught one to her opponent.
