Teresa Giudice REFUSES to Let Bravo Film Joe"s Deportation Appeal

As Joe Giudice faces almost certain deportation, Teresa has asked fans to pray for her family as they launch their desperate appeal.

Teresa is still a Real Housewife, and Bravo is offering her a hefty payday if she’ll let their cameras film this tense process.

Curiously, Teresa has said no. Perhaps she is not as icy as people seem to think.

RadarOnline reports that Teresa Giudice passed on a sizable offer to film her family’s trials and tribulations as they appeal Joe’s deportation.

Specifically, Bravo has reportedly offered Teresa $ 500,000 — a cool half million. But Teresa turned it down.

“Teresa refused to film any special scenes,” the insider reveals.

She is balking at this lucrative opportunity “because the attorney told her not to do anything until the final decision is made.”

Her pleas for leniency might not go over well with a judge who learns that she’s exploiting the drama of it all for a payday.

“She’s terrified to do anything to harm Joe,” the source explains.

Joe’s imprisonment has been bad enough on his family, but that at least was understandable.

His upcoming deportation to Italy is exacting a serious toll.

“This situation is so bad for Teresa,” the insider says.

The source adds: “She’s not talking about it at all.”

“She’s afraid that anything she says can be used against Joe,” the insider laments.

Being a public figure can really backfire when it comes to having your day in court.

The report says that Milania recently visited her father in prison, but that Teresa was otherwise occupied at the time.

“Milania has a close relationship with her dad,” the source says.

The insider says that she had to see him because “she’s been so upset by everything.”

Of course! She’s a preteen and her father is her whole world.

“Joe’s family was shocked that Teresa didn’t go with her daughter,” the source claims.

The insider then takes a harsher tone when discussing Teresa.

“Actions speak louder than words with Teresa,” the source says.

“She tells everyone she is so devastated,” the insider continues.

The source finds it odd that she asks for prayers “but then she doesn’t go visit him and doesn’t even go with Milania.”

That seems unfair, especially considering that we know what Teresa was up to at the time.

That source’s judgmental tone aside, Teresa has four daughters, not just one.

We don’t know who went with Milania (it’s hard to imagine that a 12-year-old waltzed into the prison visiting area on her own).

Teresa was out looking at universities with Gia, who just a few months away from turning 18.

When people say that life goes on, they mean that Teresa’s first responsibility is as a parent, not as a grieving wife.

She’s looking to Gia’s future.

We are sure that Joe wouldn’t have it any other way.

As for Teresa’s refusal to film, most of us can’t imagine turning down half a million dollars under most circumstances.

But she has to be wondering how she would feel if the judge denies Joe’s appeal and mentions that she had turned it into a media circus.

As we said, being a public figure can backfire.

Courts like to set an example and no prosecutor or judge wants to be accused of going easy on someone just because they’re famous.

From Dance Moms to Jersey Shore, stars of reality shows have learned that they can and will be put behind bars if they break the law.

Teresa and Joe already learned that lesson the hard way.

Now she’s just hoping and praying that being on their best behavior will keep Joe from being torn from his family forever.

Stevie J Lost His $1.3 Million Appeal; Is He Going to Jail?!

Stevie J is in major trouble, and we’re not even talking about his alleged assault on Erica Mena at the Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta reunion.

He has lost his appeal over $ 1.3 million in child support that he owes.

Is he going to end up behind bars?

We know that hip hop artists sometimes earn increased social credibility (“street cred”) from imprisonment, but heading to jail for being a deadbeat dad … probably doesn’t qualify.

Stevie J was “found guilty of knowingly withholding child support payments for his son and daughter over 18 years.”

That could cost him — seven figures, to be exact.

And Bossip reports that he has lost his latest appeal.

The appeal itself was an oddity, causing his first lawyer to quit working the case, citing that he had essentially no chance of winning and that it was a fool’s errand to try.

Stevie J persisted, believing that the ruling was “unfair,” even though he agreed to the payment in February of 2017.

Here’s where it gets weirder.

Stevie J opted to represent himself in his appeal.

If you genuinely cannot afford an attorney to handle your appeal, that’s fine. Otherwise, try to avoid representing yourself in court over anything more significant than a parking ticket.

And it turns out that the Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star didn’t exactly miss his calling.

According to court documents, he “let deadline after deadline pass on the case without any action.”

Which is why the judge dismissed this appeal.

But will Stevie J go to jail after being found guilty of knowingly not paying child support to the tune of $ 1.3 million?

It doesn’t look like it.

Reports say that he avoided prison when he agreed to make the payments — though, at the time, the U.S. attorney was seeking to have him put behind bars for six months.

And perhaps this was why he gave up on his appeal.

If he was already going to pay up and if he wasn’t going to go to prison, why bother?

It would have been nice if he had elected to not waste the court’s time and notify them that he was withdrawing his appeal, though.

It is a strange and confusing case.

The moral, we suppose, is to just pay your child support. The guy’s net worth is estimated to be around $ 5 million. Don’t be a deadbeat.

On a more serious note, however, is what Stevie J allegedly did to Erica Mena at the reunion.

It began with a verbal altercation, which is the bread and butter of reality television and usually no big deal.

But things escalated when Stevie J’s criticisms of Erica turned into insults of her 11-year-old son.

Specifically, he used an anti-gay slur, calling the child a “f–got.”

Unacceptable under any circumstances, and not the first time that he has been accused of homophobia.

Some reports say that Erica responded by slapping Stevie J.

But it sounds like what happened next was much more serious — with Stevie J allegedly jumping on top of her and attacking her.

Reports say that Stevie J was pulled off of Erica by security and expelled from the building.

Many fans expect that he will be fired for this shocking display of alleged violence and homophobia.

Erica posted to Instagram but quickly deleted a video in which she referred to him as a “b–ch” who “likes to fight girls.”

It seemed that she was still feeling understandably heated from their alleged confrontation, but she may have been instructed to delete it or simply thought better of it.

Many fans hope that Erica pursues legal action against him, even if he is fired from the show.

Jared Fogle: Judge Rejects New Appeal!

There are a lot of famous sex monsters walking free. But some are behind bars. Jared Fogle was sentenced to 15 years in prison, and he’s just over two years in.

It’s pretty safe to say that he is not enjoying his prison stay. In fact, he has once again attempted to appeal his sentence — by drafting the appeal himself and claiming that the court lacked jurisdiction.

The judge … wasn’t impressed.

Jared Fogle rose to fame as a spokesperson for Subway, showcasing his weight loss. Though he was fired from that job when accusations surfaced, he is arguably the worst thing to ever happen to that company.

(I know that this is where there’s almost an obligatory jab at Subway’s products, but I actually love their food)

For 15 years, Jared was the spokesperson for Subway. And then he came under investigation for paying for sex with minors.

As you can imagine when we’re talking about a man accused of having sex with children, he was also investigated for receiving child pornography.

In 2015, he was accused, tried, and convicted. His currently estimated release date is July 11th, 2029.

Since going to prison, Jared Fogle has been a key example of the way that men who prey upon children often do not fare well in prison.

By which we mean that Jared was brutally attacked by another inmate.

Even though most of us can agree that the prison system needs to be overhauled so that people who serve sentences stand a chance at rehabilitation rather than facing potential violence, it’s hard to get too upset when the victim of violence is a guy imprisoned for preying upon children.

And Jared is apparently paying other inmates to protect him. So we guess that he’s a job-creator now, or something.

It’s pretty safe to say, though, that he’s not enjoying his stay behind bars. He wants out.

Jared appealed his sentence once before, claiming that he was being punished for his thoughts — his fantasies — rather than for his actions.

See, the judge directly referred to his fantasies that he expressed in secretly recorded phone conversations.

We totally agree that, disgusting though they may be, someone’s thoughts or fantasies shouldn’t get them arrested.

Jared’s appeal didn’t work, though. Probably because, though the judge did mention his fantasies, he was convicted of sex with minors and receiving child porn.

The court upheld Jared’s sentence.

This time, Jared came up with his own legal argument in the prison library. Well, he borrowed a legal argument that another inmate had unsuccessfully made.

Jared filed documents claiming that the court in which he had been tried had no jurisdiction. That’s the legalese equivalent of “I don’t recognize the authority of this court.”

His argument was that he believed that the case against him hinged upon travel between states taking place, and apparently countered that he had only committed his sex crimes in a single state.

TMZ reports that Jared Fogle’s appeal was shut down. The judge was not amused, and though she told him that he was welcome to appeal her ruling on his “frivilous” argument, she said that the law specifically covered his crimes.

We guess that it’s not really a huge surprise that “actually I only preyed upon children in one state” didn’t fly for the appeal.

While we’re not legal experts, we can’t imagine that Judge Pratt is eager to be overturned on appeal. Judges rarely are.

Therefore it’s probably unlikely that Jared will see much success with this argument.

But you never know when someone will find a technicality and be able to worm themselves out of prison despite what seemed like an open-and-shut case.

If not, though, Jared will just have to wait until 2029. If, you know, he lives that long.

When elected President, Donald Trump claimed that America would win so often that citizens would grow sick of winning.

To date, however, Trump has lost twice in key court rulings.

On Thursday night, San Francisco’s 9th Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the suspension of the President"s travel ban, which prevented people from seven mostly Muslim nations from entering the United States.

The three judges, a mixture of Democrats and Republicans, voted unanimously against the administration.

Steven Avery Files Appeal; Cites Illegal Search, Biased Jury

Steven Avery – the subject of the recent Netflix documentary series Making a Murderer – has filed an appeal asking a judge to throw out his 2005 conviction for the murder of Theresa Halbach.

Steven Avery

In legal documents obtained by TMZ, Avery claims that he has sufficient evidence to prove that one juror was openly biased against him from the start of the trial, repeatedly describing Avery as “f–king guilty” in the presence of other jurors.

Additionally, the 53-year-old inmate claims that key pieces of incriminating evidence – including traces of blood and the key to Halbach’s vehicle – that were discovered inside his home were found by way of an illegal search that violated the terms of the warrant obtained by investigators.

Obviously, Avery is likely hoping that the attention brought to this case by the documentary will help his cause, but several key pieces of evidence that may help to overturn his conviction were actually not featured in the ten-part Netflix series.

The pro-Avery movement online has unearthed several key facts that were not brought up in his trial, including the shocking revelation that a member of the jury worked closely with the Manitowoc sheriffs who arrested Avery.

In the time since Making a Murderer aired Avery’s own theory about who committed the murders has been revealed to the public, but his attorneys will likely choose not to make any allegations in the courtroom.

It’s now up to the Wisconsin Court of Appeals to decide if Avery will get another day in court.

Several legal experts who have already weighed in on the matter believe that his odds are good, due to the level of controversy surrounding his conviction.
