Cheyenne Floyd Reveals Daughter"s Heartbreaking Diagnosis

In many respects, the ladies of the Teen Mom franchise have it much, much easier than most young single moms.

After all, they enjoy six-figure salaries from relatively cushy jobs that generally don"t require them to spend much time away from their children.

But the ladies of Teen Mom seem to be cursed with a virulent streak of bad luck as well — and sadly, the newest cast member is no exception.

It"s only been three weeks wince Cheyenne Floyd joined the cast of Teen Mom OG, but already, her sad story has earned her the sympathy and support of a legion of new fans.

Here"s the latest on Floyd"s frightening situation:

1. A New Face

Cheyenne floyd with daughter

After gaining a modicum of fame on MTV shows such as Are You the One?, Cheyenne made her official Teen Mom OG debut at the start of the show’s eighth season.

2. Mixed Feelings

At first, fans were conflicted about the addition of Cheyenne to the long-running MTV series.

3. Big Shoes to Fill

Many were happy to see the fired Farrah Abraham replaced by just about anyone.

4. The Critics

What about cheyenne floyd

Others pointed out that Cheyenne was not one of the original girls (or “OGs”) of the Teen Mom franchise, and wished that producers would leave well enough alone.

5. The Moms of Teen Mom

The other moms seem to have embraced Cheyenne with open arms, which is important, as the mother of one will need all the support she can get in the difficult times ahead.

6. A Sad Revelation

Cheyenne Floyd: Teen Mom Fans Will Love Me Even Though I"m a Fraud!

Cheyenne Floyd is just weeks away from turning 26, which puts her on par with a number of Teen Mom OG stars.

Unlike her new co-stars, however, Cheyenne did not actually become a mother as a teenager. She became a mother when she was … 23.

Now, she is addressing the backlash about that, and explaining why fans will agree that Cheyenne belongs on the show.

Speaking to Us Weekly, Cheyenne Floyd says that part of the reason that people are bristling at her casting is simple semantics.

“I think that a lot of people are stuck on the word,” Cheyenne laments.

That word, of course, being teen. She’s a grown woman who was never a teenage parent who is now getting paid a lot of money to appear on Teen Mom OG.

Cheyenne admits that, but says: “and at the end of the day I’m still young mom.”

“I still have the same struggles,” Cheyenne explains. “And I’m still learning just like everyone else.”

“I don’t think 23 is the ideal age to have a baby,” Cheyenne points out.

It very rarely is. Your body might be at its healthiest, but even if you’re mega-rich, you’re still young and living your life. Also, your brain isn’t quite done maturing.

“She was unplanned,” Cheyenne says of her young daughter. “So in other ways, other than me not being a teen, I have different things that you can relate.”

Most viewers of Teen Mom OG are not, themselves, teenage mothers and never were.

“So instead of me screaming all day long that I’m not a teen mom,” Cheyenne concludes. “I’d rather just talk about things that I am.”

Cheyenne shares that fans and viewers can expect to learn a lot about her and her baby daddy, Cory Wharton.

“Prior to doing Teen Mom, we kept everything to ourselves as far as what happened,” Cheyenne says. “So it’s going to be really interesting to see what the viewers think after they find out.”

That … will depend upon what viewers find out, we suppose.

“We’re good,” Cheyenne says of their relationship as co-parents. “We’re best friends.”

“We work together with everything and put everything into Ryder,” she adds. “So we have a good relationship.”

“They have a different kind review about Cory,” she says of doubtful fans.

“And,” Cheyenne continues. “They haven’t seen me on TV since I did The Challenge and I literally had the baby right after.”

Cheyenne is definitely not overexposed, that’s true.

“So it will be interesting to see what they think about is his parents,” she says.

“And,” Cheyenne concludes. “We’re excited to show our healthy coparenting relationship.”

Cheyenne is controversial for more than just that. See, people accused her of racism due to some old tweets that resurfaced when her casting news broke.

Tweets attributed to Cheyenne expressed a desire to kill white people and particularly to kill white babies, and also said something about being a nazi.

While anti-white sentiments aren’t necessarily racism (in that they’re not systemic and function as empty words, which is not true for genuine racism), those tweets were disturbing.

Cheyenne promises that she’s not racist and says that she shared the Twitter account with others. More importantly, the heinous tweets were made years ago.

Will she be able to overcome this baggage and endear herself to fans? We’ll find out in October.

Cheyenne Floyd: I"m Not Racist! Please Watch Me on Teen Mom OG!

Like it or not, Cheyenne Floyd has joined the cast of Teen Mom OG.

And, as it turns out, most people don’t seem to like it.

This is for many reasons.

One, Cheyenne is already kind of celebrity from appearing on other MTV reality shows like Are You the One? and The Challenge.

Does she really need to be on a third show?

Two, she gave birth to her daughter when she was 24 years old, so she is not nor has she ever been a teen mom.

And since that’s the title of the show, it seems like one of the most basic requirements for the main cast members.

Three, the show is called Teen Mom OG, with the “OG” standing for “Original Girls.”

Up until last season, the cast consisted of Amber Portwood, Catelynn Lowell, Maci Bookout, and Farrah Abraham, all girls from the first season of 16 and Pregnant and all girls who have been the Teen Moms from very first episode of the franchise.

Sure, Farrah got herself fired, but still, lots of fans thought the show would be just fine going forward with only Maci, Amber, and Catelynn.

Adding anyone else would take the OG out of Teen Mom OG, and that’s just not cool.

Still, it seems like MTV got super into the five girl format of Teen Mom 2 since Briana joined that show, and so they went and added two new cast members.

That’s how we have not only Cheyenne starring on the show when the season premieres on October 1st, but also Bristol Palin.

What did we do to deserve this?

And on top of all those other reasons why so many people don’t want to see Cheyenne, there’s still a great big one left …

Remember those super weird racist tweets of hers?

She posted them several years ago, but they resurfaced earlier this summer when reports began circulating that she’d be joining the show.

One from 2011 read “My mom said I can’t see The Help, she knows I already have a problem white people.”

Later, she followed that one up with “Last night I saw it and I wanted to kill every white person I saw.”

A few months later, she retweeted a friend who wrote that she and another friend “are the only nazi-loving, black power-having, ‘kill-a-white-baby-if-I-could’ people i can accept and adore.”

It goes without saying that tweeting about killing people, and specifically babies, is not great, no matter what race these imagined murder victims happen to be.

Since MTV hadn’t announced the big news about Cheyenne at that point, there was some speculation that they’d just let her go quietly without having to make a big statement about it.

But since they made the news official earlier this month, clearly they’re still going through with it.

And now, at long last, Cheyenne is speaking out about those infamous tweets.

In a written statement she shared in an Instagram Live post, she explained that “As a mom of a baby, with a biracial Dad and a member of a new blended mix-raced family, I am so sorry that these messages resurfaced and they do not represent me at all.”

“They came from a shared social media account (with many users), during my teenage/college years,” she continued.

“Although I didn’t write them, they were in poor taste and hurtful.”

She finished things out with “Through this experience I have grown up so much and thank God everyday for the woman I am becoming.”

So … hmm.

It’s kind of hard to imagine a teenage girl sharing a Twitter account with many other people, because who does that?

And even if that’s true, her friend still tagged her specifically in the tweet about killing white babies, and by the wording of the tweet, it’s very clear she wasn’t talking about a group of people.

It’s also interesting that she kept quiet about the scandal until she officially became a Teen Mom, isn’t it?

In another post, Cheyenne wrote “I know I was not a teen mom, as did MTV when the reached out to me.”

“As a young mom, I have had to overcome many struggles and face similar issues. It was my hope that my willingness to do the show and share my personal life and struggles could possibly help someone else.”

She said that she also wants “to bring awareness to my daughter’s medical condition, which has very little funding and research.”

(Her daughter has VLCAD deficiency, a condition that makes her body incapable of breaking down certain fats into energy, and it can be serious.)

That’s fine, we guess, but the whole situation is still pretty weird.

But, like we said, she’s going to be on the show whether we like it or not.

Guess we’ll see how everything turns out soon enough!

Cheyenne Floyd: Teen Mom OG Fans FURIOUS with Official Casting News!

Earlier this week, MTV finally confirmed the big news:

Cheyenne Floyd is joining the cast of Teen Mom OG.

It wasn’t the first time we heard the idea of Cheyenne, a star on other MTV reality shows like Are You the One? and The Challenge, becoming a cast member on the show.

Far from it, actually.

The first reports about Cheyenne came out back in June, and word is that she began filming then too, along with the father of her daughter, ex-boyfriend Cory Wharton.

Other Teen Mom players have commented on her, and there were even whispers that she’d possibly been let go for some questionable tweets she made several years ago.

But despite all of that, there was no official word on her casting until now.

So now Cheyenne will join Maci Bookout, Amber Portwood, Catelynn Lowell, and fellow newcomer Bristol Palin to make the core group of Teen Mom OG.

And in case you haven’t heard, the show’s fans are very, very displeased.

When the official Teen Mom Facebook page posted the news, the comment section was full of dismay.

“Why do they keep adding random people?” one person asked. “These girls were never on the show to start with and shouldn’t be now.”

This is a good point because the “OG” in the title of the show stands for “Original Girls,” because Maci, Amber, Catelynn, and Farrah Abraham, the original cast, have been around since the beginning of the show.

They were on the very first season of 16 and Pregnant, and despite the significant pay raises they’ve received over the years, they really did struggle in the early days — and MTV cameras documented it all.

As another person pointed out, “Can’t be Teen Mom OG if y’all have 2 new people who aren’t even part of the teen mom franchise smh.”

It is a pretty big oversight, considering the title of the show, you know?

Someone else popped in the comments with some sarcasm, writing “I saw a lady with a baby outside of Target today. She looked to be about 25 yrs old.”

“She was fighting on the phone with her boyfriend, so she fits 3 of the key factors. Hurry up MTV, give her a call!!!”

This comment addresses several other issues with Cheyenne’s casting, one being that she’s turning 26 next month and just gave birth to her first child last year.

Say what you will about Bristol Palin — seriously, say whatever, it’s cool — but at least she actually was a teen mom.

Sure, Cheyenne can probably bring the drama, but it feels like anyone starring on a show called Teen Mom should meet that one basic requirement.

Lots of people left comments to say that even though Farrah left the show, things could have gone on with just the three remaining cast members.

Many said that they’d fast-forward through Cheyenne and Bristol’s segments, and some said they’d stop watching altogether.

Quite a few even said that they felt the show should be cancelled at this point.

In conclusion, let’s let one commenter express what the rest of us are thinking:

“Wtf this sh-t is getting so stupid.”

Oh, isn’t it though …

Cheyenne Floyd and Cory Wharton: Already Fired from Teen Mom OG?!

It’s been a pretty crazy eventful for Teen Mom OG, huh?

There’s been so many changes to the cast, it’s a little hard to keep up with who’s actually going to be on the show in the new season.

We do know that Farrah Abraham has been fired — that happened last season, and everyone seems to be pretty happy that she’s gone.

We also know that Ryan Edwards and Mackenzie Standifer were fired after Maci Bookout threatened to quit if MTV kept filming them.

Last month, the news broke that Bristol Palin would be joining the cast, and she’s since confirmed it.

MTV confirmed it as well, releasing a sneak peek for the upcoming season that focused on her family.

So that means we’ve got the original cast of Maci, Amber Portwood, and Catelynn Lowell, minus Farrah, plus Bristol.

But what about Cheyenne Floyd?

Back in June, several outlets reported that she’d be replacing Farrah as the fourth mom on the show.

Farrah publicly responded to the news, as did David Eason after some offensive old tweets of Cheyenne’s resurfaced, but in all this time, MTV has never confirmed or denied anything.

Which is weird, since Bristol’s already got her own teaser, you know?

So what happened?

Did MTV quietly cut ties with Cheyenne after the backlash from her tweets? Did they decide Bristol was a big enough addition for now?

We’re not sure, but according to a new report from Radar Online, Cheyenne and her ex, Cory Wharton, are pretty upset with the way things have been happening.

A source explains that after Bristol’s big reveal, “Cory believes MTV is shutting out their family.”

And that’s fair — MTV debuted the Palins during the VMAs on Monday night, but there hasn’t been one single peep about Cheyenne and Cory.

Still, this source claims that they’re definitely still on the show, and that they’re even scheduled to do some press photos next Monday.

But the word is that the network is still going to wait a bit before officially announcing yet another new addition to Teen Mom OG.

Most likely, we won’t hear or see anything about Cheyenne until the middle of next month.

Honestly, it seems kind of weird that MTV would wait that long for even just a statement.

The season premiere is set for October 1st, so waiting until mid-September to name a new cast member is a little ridiculous.

Of course, there’s a chance that network executives are still trying to decide if she’ll be a good fit for the show, even this close to the premiere.

Back in June, we heard that Cheyenne and Cory were “test shooting,” and that they hadn’t signed a contract before filming.

At that point, they hadn’t been paid anything either, because producers wanted to be sure she could fill Farrah’s dumb, dramatic shoes before making anything official.

We haven’t heard anything else about their contract since then, but cast members have revealed that MTV isn’t afraid to make edits to the episodes, even soon before the episodes air.

Could Cheyenne be edited out completely if she doesn’t bring the drama?

Is that why there still hasn’t been an announcement?

Guess we have to wait a few more weeks to see!

Farrah Abraham on Cheyenne Floyd: Who the Eff is That?!?

Farrah Abraham is never one to hold back.

This is true both on camera when some dude is railing her from behind; or whether she"s asked by an entertainment news reporter for her take on… well… anything.

One of the most prominent storylines floating Teen Mom OG right now centers around Cheyenne Floyd, the surprise selection of suitors to basically replace Abraham on the series.

What does Farrah think of Cheyenne?

She thinks she"s the perfect choice and has wished her all the best!

Just kidding.

She"s basically said the exact opposite, as we outline below:

1. Cheyenne Floyd?!?

Cheyenne floyd rocks bikini baby

Yes, Cheyenne Floyd. MTV stunned fans of the series when they announced in June of 2018 that this mostly random young woman would star on the new season of Teen Mom OG.

2. Tell Us More…

Cheyenne floyd and daughter

Okay: She’s 25 years old and she previously appeared on the programs Are You The One? and The Challenge. She and fellow Challenge castmember Cory Wharton share a one-year-old daughter named Ryder.

3. Wait.. How Old is She?!?

Cheyenne floyd photo

25. So, yes, she had this child at the age of 24. Which means she was never a teenage mother. This is one problem fans have with the selection.

4. What About These Two?

Mackenzie mckee weight loss lollipop

What about Mackenzie Standifer? What about Mackenzie McKee? They were the leading contenders to replace Farrah until MTV pulled this shocker on us.

5. Another Problem They Have with Her?

Cheyenne floyd with her daughter

They’ve never heard of her! Everyone expected MTV to choose a familiar personality, especially when you consider the “O” in “Teen Mom OG.” It stands for “Original.”

6. Don’t You Agree, Farrah?

Farrah abraham on insta

You won’t believe this, but Abraham isn’t a fan of Floyd, either. “I don’t even know that name,” she now says to Radar Online, scoffing at the notion that Floyd will fill her shoes and adding: “She’s not a filler.”

David Eason: Racist Cheyenne Floyd Needs To Be FIRED!

Back in February,  Jenelle Evans" husband, David Eason, was fired by MTV after hurling homophobic slurs at Teen Mom 2 fans on Twitter.

Last week, the network hired Cheyenne Floyd to replace Farrah Abraham on Teen Mom OG.

Those events may seem unrelated, and well, they are … to everyone except David.

You see, Eason thinks Cheyenne is just as bigoted as he is, and he"s calling on MTV execs to kick her to the curb and own up to their hypocrisy.

David recently expressed these feelings in what may be the most bonkers Teen Mom rant of all time:

1. Going Off

Jenelle evans kissy face with david eason

Like his wife, Jenelle Evans, David is prone to expressing himself through unhinged social media tirades. And his latest is a real doozy.

2. Aggrieving Cheyenne

Cheyenne floyd with her daughter

It seems David takes issue with the casting of Cheyenne Floyd due to racially insensitive tweets the 25-year-old mom posted several years ago.

3. Eason Into Things

David eason on insta

“WOW MTV I’ve kept my mouth shut for too long!” David began. In reality, he’s never kept his mouth shut about anything, but the ensuing rant is so amusing you may want to hear him out anyway.

4. Owning the Libs

Jenelle evans david eason on instagram

“MTV is such a hypocritical liberal network that you still keep racists, drug addicts and potential rapists on you shows as long as it meets your political beliefs?” Eason wrote.

5. Come Again?

Jenelle eason david eason

At this point, David goes off on a bit of a tangent about his right to bare arms. We’re sure it all made sense in his mind.

6. Locked and Loaded

Jenelle evans boyfriend david eason

“Yet you are against gun rights which protects my family from those kind of people,” David wrote. Needless to say, this man is worked up.

Cheyenne Floyd Begins Filming Teen Mom OG Amidst Castmate Protests

It’s official — Cheyenne Floyd is the latest mother to join the hallowed Teen Mom franchise.

And she’s the first to do so without actually being a teen mom!

Yes, Cheyenne gave birth to her first child last year at the age of 24.

And that’s just one of the reasons that her new co-stars aren’t exactly thrilled with the idea of sharing screen time with Cheyenne.

Amber Portwood and other cast members have reportedly been quite vocal in their complaints to producers.

Some apparently feel that the show doesn’t need a fifth cast member to replace Farrah Abraham, while others have taken issue with Cheyenne personally, arguing that she’s a bad fit for the series.

But whether Amber and company like it or not, producers have already taken steps toward introducing Cheyenne to the Teen Mom fan base:

“They started test shooting on Wednesday,” a source close to the show tells Radar Online.

But production insiders are careful to note that this is just a test run.

Cheyenne has not yet received a dime from the show, and she apparently won’t be paid until producers determine if she’ll be able to “fill the big hole” left by Farrah.

We assume the source proceeded to giggle for 20 minutes after mentioning Farrah and hole-filling in the same sentence.

“They haven’t been paid yet,” the source confirms.

“They have not signed a contract at this time.”

And if the rest of the moms get their way, Cheyenne never will sign a contract:

“Amber [Portwood] is pissed off about a new cast member,”

And apparently, she’s not alone:

“They’ve been doing Teen Mom for 10 years and don’t think they like the idea of someone who is a total newbie and has never even been on the show before coming on permanently,” says the insider

“They all just think it’s stupid that they’re bringing in people from outside the franchise instead of bringing the [Teen Mom OG] and [Teen Mom 2] casts together.”

Since combining two shows into one would likely mean all the payroll expenses and half the ratings, we can see why MTV wouldn’t be thrilled by that suggestion.

As for how Farrah feels about her replacement, she gave Radar a typically Farrah-esque response:

“I don’t watch the show anymore, as I’ve moved on,” she said.

“The show was done when I left.”

Thus far, Cheyenne has turned out to be such an unpopular choice that the moms might actually prefer to have Farrah back.

Does this mean the Backdoor Teen Mom won in the end?

Whatever the case, as you can see in the gallery below, Ms. Floyd is already proving to be a very controversial choice, and her days as a Teen Mom might come to an end before they really begin:
