Jase Robertson: Duck Dynasty Star Shaved! Unrecognizable!

Duck Dynasty might be over at long last, but the Robertson family is still around.

Seeing a member of the Duck Dynasty family without their beard might sound like seeing a turtle without its shell. Except … alive.

But, if you check out the video below, that"s exactly what you"ll see: Jase Robertson, shaved clean for the first time in nearly a decade.

As a general rule, the Duck Dynasty folks are worlds away from most Americans.

Their lifestyle, their beliefs, their facial hair choices, and their net worths are all pretty far removed from American culture.

That"s what made them such a source of entertainment … or whatever … for so long.

Phil Robertson, the family patriarch, has been decidedly less "entertaining" lately, having gone to bat for Ted Cruz and Cruz"s dominionist theology (a belief that Christians should take over every branch of government … even more so than is the case currently … and rewrite laws based upon their religious beliefs).

Certainly not the first controversial move by Phil Robertson and it won"t be the last.

Every now and then, you can find something relatable about them.

For example, Sadie Robertson thirsting after Justin Bieber is something that isn"t a universal experience, but we all know someone like that.

And then there"s that interview where Jase and Missy Robertson strongly suggested that Anna Duggar could leave Josh Duggar.

(Sensible!)

Beyond that, we absolutely support Jase pledging to do something for such a good cause — and keeping his word.

So, Jase"s daughter, Mia, was born with a cleft palate and lip.

Mia has had eight surgeries so far to correct this, but the Robertsons are aware that not all families can afford to foot that kind of bill.

In 2014, Jase and Missy started the Mia Moo Fund for, well, children with cleft palates and lips.

The fund"s name might be all kinds of goofy, but that"s a great cause.

A condition doesn"t have to be life-threatening to need to be addressed, you know.

So, Jase had made a pledge that if the Mia Moo Fund raised its goal of 100,000 dollars, he would shave his beard.

This created a situation where everybody wins, because the money is for a good cause but also Missy prefers Jase when he"s shaved.

(And you know how some charity money goes to administrative costs? Jase and Missy paid the administrative fees themselves, so all of the money raised could go directly to kids in need)

Well, they raised the money.

And then Jase, who hadn"t shaved in 8 years, got shaved by Missy.

As you can see in the video, a lot of family members gathered to bear witness.

There are pictures around the house of Jase Robertson without his beard — which, again, is how Missy prefers him.

(Shocking, we know, that she"d prefer that he look like a human who"s either cleanshaven or has a normal beard instead of looking like an Ent from The Lord of the Rings)

Mia herself hasn"t seen Jase like this since she was very young.

Apparently she found his beardlessness frightening because he looked unfamiliar (that"s just a basic survival instinct in children, but they tend to still recognize their parents" voice).

As you can see, Jase looks … positively unrecognizable.

Duck Tales Reboot: Coming in 2017!!

Life will be like a hurricane over in Duckburg once again next year, when the long-rumored Duck Tales reboot finally debuts on Disney XD.

You know what this TV development means, right?

Buzzfeed readers ages 35-40 and obsessed with stuff from when they were kids can now smother their own offspring with the same exact s–t.

Ah, the circle of commercialism and nostalgia. Woo-oo!

The original cartoon aired from 1987-90, and followed the adventures of miserly but loveable business tycoon mallard Scrooge McDuck.

Not unlike McDuck, who was so loaded he literally swam in his own money, Disney execs are looking to do the same after a huge marketing push.

Scrooge, his mischievous grandnephews Huey, Dewey and Louie, and their beloved Uncle Donald Duck, were all featured in the TV series.

Expect them all to solve mysteries and rewrite history once again, and for the company who owns their likenesses to cash in at every turn.

Kids" foods, soft drinks, toys, games, books, dialysis machines … you name it. There will be a Duck Tales version of just about everything.

(Just kidding about dialysis machines, but with Disney owning Star Wars now, don"t be shocked to actually see branded medical devices.)

You could say it there will be a duck blur of merchandise come 2017 … and if you don"t get that joke, listen to the theme song below!

Joe Alaskey Dies; Voice of Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck Was 63

Joe Alaskey, the voice of beloved Looney Tunes characters such as Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, has died Wednesday in Los Angeles after a lengthy battle with cancer.

He was 63 years old.

Television writer and friend Mark Evanier confirmed Alaskey’s passing via a blog entry.

After listing all the characters who Alaskey brought to life (including Tweety, Sylvester and Marvin the Martian), Evanier wrote the following of his late acquaintance:

“The one I liked best was when he sounded like Joe Alaskey. He had a long, long list of voices but that’s the one I will miss the most.”

The voice actor inherited the roles of these iconic Warner Bros. characters from the legendary impressionist Mel Blanc after his passing in 1989.

Along with those in the Warner Bros. family, Alaskey also voiced Grandpa Lou Pickles in Rugrats and Stinkie in the movie Casper.

In a similar capacity, he specialized in voice matches for real-life people, supplying the voice for Richard Nixon in the Academy Award-winning movie Forrest Gump.

In 2004, Alaskey won a Daytime Emmy Award for his work on the cartoon show Duck Dodgers.

We send our condolences to the family members, friends and loved ones of Joe Alaskey.

Duck Dynasty Season 9 Premiere Recap: In-Lawful Entry

The Robertson clan is back and better than ever on A&E with their familiar brand of family comedy, business success and silly antics.

Wednesday night, on Duck Dynasty Season 9 Episode 1, Missy’s parents came for a visit, with her father going hunting with Jase.

Did Jase hunt down any quail? Somehow, he had more than that on his mind with his in-laws in town … you’ll see what we mean!

Meanwhile, Willie Robertson helped his eldest son, the newly-married and all-grown-up John Luke, start a snow cone business.

Willie knows a thing or two about business. And fatherhood.

At times, of course, these truths go to his head and his advice doesn’t turn out quite the way he imagines it will. But he means well!

Part of the show’s remarkable staying power is how relatable it is, however, and life lessons like this are a prime example of why.

Through it all, Willie always comes through for the family.

Later, on Duck Dynasty Season 9 Episode 2, Jep ended up locked in a storage container after he tried to help Si with something.

Yes, sometimes the storylines stray into the ridiculously scripted territory, but darned if they still aren’t fun to watch for longtime fans.

Ever the dutiful father as well as son-in-law, Jase spent this installment helping daughter Mia prepare for a cheerleading competition.

We promise you that won’t disappoint. Not that Jase ever does.

Just follow the link to watch Duck Dynasty online and see both episodes for yourself from start to finish. You will be glad you did so.

Then check out our time-honored gallery of the Robertsons without beards below, because like the show itself, that never gets old …
