Abby Lee Miller Undergoes Second Emergency Surgery

Back in April, former Dance Moms star Abby Lee Miller had emergency back surgery after a rapidly spreading paralysis threatened her life.

That paralysis turned out to be the result of a form of cancer called Burkitt lymphoma.

Now, Miller has revealed that she had to undergo a second emergency surgery. This does not sound good.

Abby Lee Miller took to Instagram with a surprisingly calm tone to share the news with fans and followers.

“After another 2 hour MRI this morning,” she begins.

Remember, she is battling a fast-spreading cancer in some very delicate parts of her body — doctors need to keep a close eye on where and how it spreads or does not spread.

“The pros thought I needed one more quick little emergency surgery!”

Her next word is more or less what you would imagine.

“Ugh!”

Surgery is always serious. When the word emergency is slapped in front of it, it is worse.

“I’m in recovery now and texting so everything must be ok.”

Abby Lee Miller second surgery pic

Miller continues to put on a brave face, acting as if the surgery were merely an inconvenience.

“Just hiccups in my plans!”

She explains that she is genuinely very busy at the moment.

“I’m on a tight schedule; shooting two projects and I need to get out of here and on with my life!!!”

Obviously, we hope that she is able to continue uninterrupted by yet another heatlh crisis.

Abby’s post continues, as she asks fans to continue to send her good vibes for a swift and full recovery.

“Please keep me in your prayers.”

She wants everyone to know how much she appreciates their emotional support.

“I’m grateful for all the well wishes!”

She finishes her post with a series of tags.

“#ALDC #aldcla #dancemoms #abbyleemiller #lymphoma @hoomanmelamedmd”

Note that her last tag is of Dr. Hooman Melamed, her doctor.

It is worth noting that she was seeing him for his spinal expertise more than a year before her cancer diagnosis.

Another recent post by Miller shares some sage advice with her fans and followers.

Beside a photo of her head tilted back so that she can enjoy a faceful of somewhat filtered solar radiation, Miller writes:

“Going outside to feel the sun on my face was wonderful!!!”

If you’re a person who enjoys sunlight, spending the better part of a year in prison and then weeks in the hospital would make you feel almost starved for some Vitamin D.

(We mean literal Vitamin D, which your body can make from sunlight. Not the euphemism for penis. Though that may also be the case for the newly freed)

“Kids, never take anything in this world for granted!”

That is very good advice.

Simple “luxuries” like being able to choose your own meals or go outside when you choose seem almost beneath your notice until you no longer have those choices.

“It can all change so suddenly!”

Remember, undergoing major surgery that involves her spine meant that she’s been cooped up, recovering, for a while now.

“The Brilliant Dr. B cleared me for sunning this afternoon!”

She was clearly enjoying her time outside.

“Woo Hoo! Thank you sir!”

We wish her the best and hope that this second emergency surgery does not keep her cooped up for too long.

Mostly, we just hopes that she beats this cancer.

Plane Makes Emergency Landing After Man"s Body Odor Sickens Passengers

Flying in an airplane is rarely fun. But sometimes, it can be downright unbearable.

While most people would consider sitting near a bad-smelling passenger to be bad enough, unpleasant body odor isn’t usually enough to land a plane.

But that is just what happened here, as one person’s foul odor was enough to sicken others and force the plane to land.

Transavia may sound like the name of an all-naturla sugar substitute, but it is a Dutch budget airline.

Unfortunately, one Transavia flight from the Spanish island of Gran Canaria, a fairly common vacation destination in Europe, was besieged by a foul odor.

Reportedly, passengers complained of an “unbearable” smell, which they blamed upon an “unwashed” man onboard.

The alleged olfactory assault was so severe that some passengers reportedly became ill.

Once the flight took off from the Las Palmas airport, some people’s reactions were so severe that they were fainting or vomiting.

Gross.

One Belgian passenger named Piet van Haut reported that:

“It was a huge stench.”

It certainly sounds like it.

“The man was sitting on the last row of the plane.”

Nonetheless, it sounds like many passengers were impacted.

“And it smelled like he hadn’t washed for weeks.”

Horrific. Unimaginable.

Apparently, after several passengers grew ill from the relentless assault upon their senses, airline staff asked the man to confine himself to the bathroom.

That was not enough to mitigate the damage, unfortunately.

The plane was headed for Amsterdam in the Netherlands, but had to make an emergency stop in Portugal, at Faro Airport.

It was then that the man was ushered off of the plane.

He was then placed on a bus by medical personnel.

In a statement from Transavia, it was said that the emergency stop was made for “medical” reasons.

Many people immediately wondered if perhaps the odor arose from something other than poor hygiene. Perhaps this poor man was suffering an illness that created a powerful and noxious body odor.

Diabetes, thyroid issues, and dysfunction in the kidneys or liver can lead to different and unpleasant body odor that can be difficult to mask.

There is another medical possibility: a mutation known as trimethylaminuria.

Trimethylamine is the chemical compound responsible for giving fish their “fishy odor.”

People with trimethylaminuria, which is extremely rare, are unable to break down that compound. This causes it to build up in their systems.

We don’t know what kind of bad smell drove these passengers to their limits. If what they were smelling was similar to fish emulsion, this could be the answer.

But obviously, we don’t know.

Sometimes, people don’t smell too bad even when they smell a little “ripe.” But please, no matter your personal opinion, tell someone if they are about to go fly somewhere and their body odor is in any way detectable.

We feel so sorry for this poor man and for his fellow passengers.

None of them asked for this to happen.

And honestly? We feel sorry for Transavia. A lot of airlines get bad press, but it sounds like Transavia did all of the right things, here.

There are so many ways to ruin someone’s flight. Let’s all try to avoid being at fault.

Abby Lee Miller Undergoes Emergency Surgery, Narrowly Avoids Death

As we’ve made clear on numerous occasions in the past, we don’t like Abby Lee Miller.

We think she’s a narcissistic bully.

That said, we’d like to make one thing clear:

We do not wish death on Abby Lee Miller.

Heck, we don’t wish any sort of physical harm on the former Dance Moms host at all, that’s not what we’re all about.

Therefore, we truly do send nothing but well wishes to Miller, following the news that she nearly died this week.

It’s true: Multiple outlets have confirmed that Miller underwent emergeny surgery around 1 a.m.on Tuesday due to an infection in her spine.

She is now recovering in a Marina del Ray, California hospital.

According to a rep for Dr. Hooman Melamed, Miller was actually paralyzed prior to the procedure.

She had been suffering extreme pain in her back, arms and neck and, as a result, underwent a CT scan on Monday night.

This is when the mass was discovered and Miller was taken into the operating room.

“She could have died,” Melamed tells Entertainment Tonight, adding:

“Forget paralysis – if she waited much longer she would’ve died from this. Yesterday, Abby couldn’t move her toes or hands. Now she can slightly. She is in recovery now.”

Wow.

Melamed added further details in an interview with People Magazine:

“Her condition started deteriorating [over two days]. Not just her pain, but her weakness started getting worse. In the span of 24 hours, which was something that I have not seen, her condition rapidly deteriorated.

“She was completely paralyzed from the neck down.”

The surgeon explained that Miller’s blood pressure was bottoming out, hence the emergent situation.

On March 27, Miller was transferred from the FCI Victorville prison in California to a halfway house in Long Beach, following an eight-plus month stint in federal prison.

The reality star had pleaded guilty in 2016 to bankruptcy and financial fraud, admitting that she lied to the government about her assets.

She is expected to serve the remaining two months of her term at the halfway house.

Dr. Melamed does say, however, that Miller may require another surgery.

For now, though, she will stick around at the hospital for at least another night and possibly for the rest of the week.

The ex-Dance Moms choreographer underwent gastric sleeve surgery in the past and it’s conceivable that her back pain and subsequent infection was related to this procedure and/or the medication she took afterward.

In May of last year, Miller received a sentence of one year and one day in federal jail, followed by two years of supervised release for bankruptcy fraud.

She was also fined $ 40,000 and ordered to pay the $ 120,000 judgment, as well as give a DNA sample relating to her felony charge.

Back in January, she actually released a statement from behind bars, saying at the time:

Sometimes in life you make mistakes. I trusted the wrong people and didn’t pay any attention to things I should of. I’m more than sorry for the mistakes I have made.

My world flipped upside down when I had to enter prison. I did so with grace, the stories you read about me been a princess are untrue.

I have made friends with both inmates and staff, I’ve tried to better myself, participated in anything offered to me and I am a better person for this experience.

We weren’t huge fans of this self-serving nonsense.

But we’re still glad she’s alive.

We don’t wish death on a single celebrity.

Southwest Flight Makes Emergency Landing, Passenger Tweets CRAZY Details

WARNING TO ALL READERS:

You may not want to read the rest of this post if you ever want to fly in an airplane ever again…

sw plane

On Tuesday afternoon, a Southwest Airlines flight en route from LaGuardia Airport in New York to Dallas made an emergency landing in Philadelphia after one of the engines blew and a passenger got nearly sucked out of a window as a result.

As confirmed by a map via FlightAware, Southwest Flight 1380 was headed west/southwest when it took a sharp turn east, back towards Philadelphia.

Accounts from passengers on board have confirmed that an engine on the left side of the plane exploded mid-flight, causing shrapnel to fly across the aisle.

Incredibly, only one person was injured from the blast and he/she was tended to by medical personnel aboard the aircraft.

“We are aware that Southwest flight #1380 from New York La Guardia (LGA) to Dallas Love Field (DAL) has diverted to Philadelphia International Airport (PHL),” said Southwest in a statement, adding:

“We are in the process of transporting Customers and Crew into the terminal. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-700, has 143 Customers and five Crewmembers onboard.

“We are in the process of gathering more information.

“Safety is always our top priority at Southwest Airlines, and we are working diligently to support our Customers and Crews at this time.”

sw statement

As news continues to break regarding exactly what happened, passengers have started to share photos from the plane on social media.

For example, Kristopher Johnson snapped the picture below and shared it to Twitter, thanking the Southwest crew “for a great job getting us to the ground safely after losing in engine.”

Marty Martinez, meanwhile, shared a Facebook live video that depicts him with an oxygen mask on.

“Something is wrong with our plane! It appears we are going down! Emergency landing!!” he says in the footage.

blown engine

Martinez later talked to CBS News after the plane had landed in Philadelphia, explaining something went wrong about a half hour into the trip.

“All of a sudden, we heard an explosion and I come to find out that the engine exploded on the left side of the plane,” he said.

“That explosion caused one of the windows to explode in row 17 of the plane, which was just two aisles over from me.”

Added Martinez:

“I thought I was cataloging the last moments of my existence. It was absolutely terrifying.”

scary flight

Then there was Todd Baur, the father of one passenger onboard, who told NBC Philadelphia that a woman was nearly sucked out of the broken window.

She “was partially … was drawn out towards the out of the plane” and “was pulled back in by other passengers,” Baur said, adding that she was taken to a hospital for evaluation.

Philadelphia Airport has Tweeted that passengers should expect delays following an order (since lifted) from the Federal Aviation Administration that had been preventing flights en route to Philadelphia from taking off.

Crazy, right?

While this near-catastrophe might scare some folks away some flying, it may actually encourage others to feel even safer in the sky.

After all… an engine actually blew up and the plane was still able to land safely, with no fatalities.

Pretty amazing, no?

UPDATE: The FAA has issued its statement on what happened to Southwest flight 1380.

It reads as follows:

Southwest Airlines Flight 1380 landed at Philadelphia International Airport this morning after the crew reported damage to one of the aircraft’s engines, as well as the fuselage and at least one window.

The aircraft, which departed from New York LaGuardia Airport, diverted to Philadelphia, where it landed at 11:20 a.m. Eastern.

Passengers exited the aircraft using air stairs. Please contact local emergency response officials for information on the condition of the passengers.

The FAA is investigating the incident and the National Transportation Safety Board has been notified. The NTSB will be in charge of the investigation.

Ami Brown: Emergency Hospitalization Confirmed

Recently, Alaskan Bush People fans have begun to fear that Ami Brown’s cancer has returned.

Now, along with reports that the family had to stop filming and rush the family matriarch to another state for treatment, her children are posting on social media.

Many fans believe that these posts by Rain and by Bear are confirming their worst fears about Ami’s health.

Like a number of devoutly Christian celebrities, Rain Brown shared a message for her followers over Easter weekend.

“Happy Easter everybody, today is a very important day, today is the day our brother Jesus rose from his grave.”

It was Rain’s particular interpretation of Easter that first caused fans to become concerned.

“I believe Easter is a reminder that even when things appear to be over, if it’s meant to be we’ll get another chance.”

It is admittedly difficult to tell if Rain is speaking purely about the resurrection or if, as she has in the past, she is hinting about her mother’s well-being.

“Easter is not only the day our savior rose but it’s also a sign we can rise too, rise above darkness and doubt jealousy and hate anger and spite, and find love, peace, harmony, joy, and above all, faith.”

And then she talks about miracles — which brings to mind the rumor from late last year that Ami Brown’s cancer was cured in a Christmas miracle.

“Miracles happen every day. We just have to believe and give the credit where it’s due, God bless everybody.”

Bear Brown snapped this selfie and shared it to Instagram, and included the caption:

“Time to Escape from LA!!! (Again) #losangeles #freedom #uclamedicalcenter #family #bearbrown”

Note that he tagged the UCLA Medical Center … where his mother has received cancer treatments in the past.

Many fans fear that this is confirmation of the report by RadarOnline that the Alaskan Bush People cast were spotted at the hospital after being forced to pause filming in Omak, Washington.

Earlier in March, she had been spotted looking dangerously thin and being wheeled around in her wheelchair.

Now, it looks like she’s spent at least some time in the hospital.

And though Bear says that he’s leaving, fans don’t know if that means that Ami is also leaving the hospital.

Fans filled Bear’s comments with well-wishes.

“I will be praying for your mom and everyone else to get through this.”

One fan even shared a very personal story.

“Praying for your mom just lost my dad of lung, and bone cancer on the 17th of March my heart goes out to your mom.”

Most kept their messages short and sweet.

“Bless their hearts they are in my prayers.”

One fan, a woman who looks much older than Bear, took the opportunity to try to hit on him. That was … a strange choice.

Bear thanked fans for their kindness and support.

“Hey everybody!!! Thanks for all the support! Sorry I’m not able to respond to all of y’all guys messages!!”

Note that he does not really confirm anything with this post.

“I’ll try to be more responsive!! I don’t use my phone often, I prefer not to carry it around all the time.”

Few of us can relate to that.

“Thanks everybody, from the bottom of my heart! Y’all guys ROCK!! I hope Everybody Had a AWESOME EASTER!!!!!”

So … does Ami Brown have cancer?

It is possible. Unfortunately, though her scans showed no signs of cancer last December, the odds of cancer coming back are tragically high.

But it’s also possible that she had some other ailment — like the flu — or that her body is still recovering from her radiation treatments and chemotherapy.

Even if it’s just something like the flu or a stomach bug, considering that Ami faced a terminal illness just last year, it makes sense that she and her family would be extra cautious about her health and well being.

You don’t want to take any chances, folks.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Rushed to Hospital For Emergency Heart Surgery

Frightening news out of Hollywood today, as multiple sources have confirmed that Arnold Schwarzenegger is currently hospitalized following an emergency open heart surgery.

According to TMZ, the 70-year-old screen icon and former governor of California is currently recovering at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles following a catheter valve replacement that went awry.

Sources say doctors were prepared for the possibility that the valve replacement might fail, and they quickly made the decision to perform emergency open heart surgery.

While the second procedure reportedly went as planned, family, friends, and fans are said to be deeply concerned, and understandably so.

Adding to their fear is the fact that this is not the first time Schwarzenegger has undergone heart surgery.

The actor had an aortic valve replaced in 1997.

Doctors reportedly informed Schwarzenegger that the procedure wasn’t urgently needed at the time, but he decided to get it out of the way while he was still young.

It’s not currently clear if Schwarzenegger’s recent problems are related to the condition he was treated for back then.

At the time of his first procedure, Schwarzenegger stated that the condition was congenital and not the result of past steroid use.

While this week’s open heart surgery was an emergency procedure, sources say it went as well as could be expected, given the circumstances.

There’s no word yet on when Schwarzenegger will be fully recovered, but those who know him best expect the famously ambitious fitness fanatic to be back on his feet in no time.

Arnold, of course, has been a mainstay in American pop culture and politics for the past four decades.

The Austrian-born former bodybuilder is on the short list of celebrities who are so iconic they can be referred to by a single name.

At 70, he remains as relevant as ever, and Schwarzenegger’s feud with Donald Trump recently made headlines and reminded the world of just what a sharp wit Arnold truly is.

Schwarzenegger has yet to issue a statement regarding his latest health scare, but you can bet that one is coming soon.

Arnold famously loves his public as much as the public loves him.

We’ll have further updates on this developing story as more information becomes available.

Flight Makes Emergency Landing Due to Passenger Who Won"t Stop Farting

Passenger 57?

More like Flatulence 57, folks!

Don’t worry. This genius joke will make a lot more sense in just a few moments…

According to multiple news outlets (who apparently lacked a lot of hard news to report on over the weekend), a Transavia Airlines pilot was forced to make an emergency landing on a flight from Dubai to Amsterdam Schiphol several days ago.

The reason for said emergency landing?

Two female passengers on board the plane continually asked another passenger to please stop passing gas.

When this third passenger refused to do so, a loud argument broke out and gave the pilot no choice but to quell the smelly chaos by cutting the trip short.

Following a warning from crew members that did not to prevent the farting or the subsequent fighting, the plane was diverted to Vienna Airport.

Police boarded the plane after it landed and removed two women and two men that the pilot reported as “passengers on the rampage,” Metro reports.

This publication adds that the two women were sisters and that authorities brought a dog on board as well, presumably because canines have an especially great senses of smell.

And we guess such an ability would come in handy during this sort of situation.

“We had no idea who these boys were, we just had the bad luck to be in the same row and we didn’t do anything,” said Nora Lacchab, one of the women.

She added:

“All I will say is that the crew were really provocative and stirred things up.”

She and her sibling are thinking about filing a lawsuit against the airline.

All four passengers were released from police custody without being charged.

However, all have been banned from flying Transavia Airlines ever again.

Said the company in a statement:

“Our crew must ensure a safe flight. When passengers pose risks, they immediately intervene. Our people are trained for that.

“They know very well where the boundaries are. Transavia is therefore square behind the cabin crew and the pilots.”

Makes sense to us.

The thing is, we still don’t know the name of the person who actually dealt the farts.

In our experience, however, it was likely the same person who smelt them.

John Mayer: Hospitalized for Emergency Appendectomy!

Early today, John Mayer was hospitalized for emergency surgery.

Please save your “Your Body Is A Wonderland” jokes for the end.

On Tuesday, Dead & Company’s official Twitter account posted this:

“Early this morning, Tuesday, December 5th, John Mayer was admitted into the hospital for emergency appendectomy forcing the Dead & Company December 5th concert in New Orleans to be postponed.”

Now, that can be pretty serious. The appendix might not be a vital organ, but when it begins to swell, it’s effects can be profoundly painful.

If it were to burst, it would be much, much worse.

Don’t freak out that it’s an “emergency appendectomy,” as … that’s generally how appendectomies work. It’s not an elective surgery; you remove it before it kills you.

Even so, this is major surgery. They will in all likelihoods make a number of small incision points, one in his navel and two below his waist. They’ll then “inflate” in order to create some wiggle-room and use endoscopic tools to carefully remove the appendix.

Ideally, before it bursts.

Scarring will be pretty minimal — it’s not like those huge abdominal scars that people who got the surgery in years past received.

Recovery will take weeks.

Based upon my experience (I had an appendectomy in 2004), the worst part of recovery is dealing with lingering pain if they used carbon dioxide to make room for the endoscopic surgery. For me, that gas pain was worse than appendicitis or the surgery itself.

It will probably be days before he’s willing to eat again, but unless there are complications, he should be able to be up and (very gingerly) walking as early as tomorrow.

He’ll need to avoid alcohol for a few weeks and also avoid any heavy lifting. Sitting up is going to be a pain for several days, at least.

Hopefully, he’ll make a full and speedy recovery.

Yeah, a lot of people consider John Mayer to be a douche, but it takes more than rubbing people the wrong way to deserve to have one of your organs explode. That’s rough.

Now, when the metaphorical smoke clears and it’s announced that John Mayer has made a full recovery, then we can start making jokes.

The “Your Body Is A Wonderland” jokes.

Perhaps some jokes at the expense of Katy Perry, one of John Mayer’s many famous exes.

As we all recall, Katy Perry ranked John Mayer as the best at sex when compared to Diplo and Orlando Bloom.

If you feel like making a joke with twists and turns, you can even try to make a joke connecting John Mayer’s misbehaving appendix with his allegedly large penis.

(I’ve thought of several but wouldn’t care to subject anyone to them)

That’s up to you; just don’t tell inappropriate jokes at work.

The Twitter account posted an update:

“All tickets for the December 5 show will be honored for the rescheduled date. Information on the rescheduled date will be announced as soon as possible. Should ticketholders choose to seek a refund, they will be available at point of purchase.”

That’s great news, though we’re sure that ticketholders are currently more concerned about John Mayer’s well-being than they are about what to do with their tickets.

We all look forward to when we can poke fun at John Mayer’s goofy statements instead of worrying about his health.
