Big Brother Recap: Who Got Nominated for the First Eviction?

The first Head of Household competition of the season aired on Thursday night’s episode, and it sent the drama in the household into overdrive.

Steve, JC, Winston, Sam, Bayleigh, Tyler, Kaitlyn, and Angela were the eight unlucky competitors fighting for the power after Swaggy opted to leave them all vulnerable.

The competition was found the players balancing across a wandering beam to pick up a ball and to target another player’s tube to fill.

Whenever a player’s tube was filled with ten balls, they were struck out of the competition. The players opted to target Steve and Sam, and it was rather predictable.

Steve was always going to be a polarizing character in the house because of his NYPD roots. Despite him lying about his career, everyone seems to think there’s something off about him.

Let’s just say his strategy to float on by for a few weeks is not going to work, and he’s going to have to battle for safety if he wants to remain in the competitive loop.

In the end, Tyler secured the win, giving him the power to nominate seven of the houseguests. Tyler was worried that Angela was blowing up his game by saying they are from the same part of the U.S.

Could he want to get some revenge by throwing her on the block? Doubtful.

Swaggy admitted straight off the bat that he did not want to save Angela because it would have ruffled too many feathers. The error of Swaggy’s ways is that he’s already burned bridges with both Bayliegh and Angela.

Angela admitted that she would not forget his disloyalty, and just like that, we have our first big feud of the season!

Tyler was on a power trip because he won the first HOH and wanted to hear everyone offer him things to get to stay off the block.

Winston seemed to offer the best of both worlds. He pitched an alliance that included them both, Brett, Angela, Rachel, and Kaycee.

Tyler, as predicted was “into that” but stressed that it did not leave him with a lot of options for the nominations. He floated the idea of putting Sam and Steve up.

But Sam was not ready to allow herself to be thrown up on the block. Instead, she pitched Tyler that she would be a solo person in the game and that it would allow her to gather intel for him.

It was a desperate move but proved she was willing to go to great lengths to get what she wanted.

Before we got to the nominations ceremony, Swaggy appeared in the HOH room and tried to push Tyler towards nominating Angela and Winston as a power move.

A chat with Bayliegh also confirmed that Swaggy was gathering up his side of the house, and Tyler ultimately decided to lay low with nominating Sam and Steve.

The game is officially on, and it’s only a matter of time before the cracks in the alliances start to crumble!

We can’t say for certain, except the field will be especially wide open this year.

Because Game of Thrones Season 6 did not premiere until July, it missed the deadline of Emmy eligibility.

No star is nominated in any category and the show cannot repeat as Best Drama.

So the door is wide open for the following actors, actresses and programs. Which of the just-announced nominees will walk excitedly and proudly through it?

Meghan McCain: I Cried When Donald Trump Got Nominated!

Meghan McCain rose to national prominence back in 2008 when her father, longtime Arizona senator John McCain, faced off with Barack Obama as the GOP’s presidential nominee.

Obviously, Senator McCain lost the election, but his daughter has held her place in the national spotlight as an analyst for Fox News.

And unlike some scions of well-known political figures (We’re looking at you, Bristol Palin!) Meghan has earned the respect of those in her party with her impassioned, articulate defenses of old school fiscal conservatism, as well as her more moderate stances on social issues.

So obviously, given her alignment, Meghan is no fan of the GOP’s current nominee, Donald Trump, who has next to nothing in common with traditional conservatives or moderates of any stripe.

In fact, just hours before Trump took the stage at the RNC to accept his party’s nomination last night, McCain blasted the candidate in a candid interview with People magazine.

“It’s really hard,” said the 31-year-old when asked about Trump’s stunning ascendance.

“I understand the voters have spoken. I understand that he’s had more votes than any other candidate – but this is an incredibly polarizing election. 60 percent of Republicans want another candidate. This is not the vision for America I have.”

She added that she openly wept when the real estate mogul clinched the nomination.

Of course, her feelings may have something to do with the fact that Trump blasted her father early in his campaign, claiming that the former POW was “not a war hero” because he was captured.

So will Meghan’s distaste for Trump lead her to pull the lever for Hillary Clinton in November?

Don’t count on it:

“This is a garbage election with two garbage candidates and America deserves a lot better than this,” McCain told People.

But Meghan won’t be joining Ted Cruz and many other GOP faithful who will exercise their right to simply stay home this Election Day.

“I’m writing in a candidate,” she said.

We’re guessing she won’t be alone.

It"s An Honor Just To Be Nominated, Right? You Won"t Believe These TV Stars Have NEVER Won An Emmy!

The 67th Emmy Awards are tonight!

This prestigious night honors the finest programs in television, and only gets more competitive as the years go on — because there is SO much quality TV nowadays!

That surge in competition is a double edged sword, because a ton of deserving actors have been forced to perform the “gracious loser clap” year after year by losing out to someone else!

It’s the last year for Jon Hamm and Amy Poehler to win for their roles on Mad Men and Parks & Recreation. If not, they will sadly remain with these other actors who have NEVER won an Emmy!
