Caitlyn Jenner Ponders U.S. Senate Run
Caitlyn Jenner says she may run for a seat in the California Senate.
About a year ago, we’d have written this sentence and then laughed. We’d have scoffed at this notion.
We’d have mocked the concept of a celebrity who knows more about beauty products than fossil fuel emissions possibly thinking she can make a difference in the political arena.
But then a certain former reality star was named President of the United States.
And Kid Rock teased his candidacy.
And now we’re left with no choice but to report seriously on the possibility of Caitlyn Jenner as a U.S. Senator.
“I have considered it,” said Jenner this week on John Catsimatidis’ radio show Cats Roundtable on 970 AM, adding:
“I like the political side of it.
“If there’s one thing – I work very closely with the American Unity Fund – that their sole purpose, their mission statement is to get the Republican party to do a better job with all LGBT issues.”
Of all the celebrities to claim they may one day run for office (sorry, Dwayne Johnson, we love you… but no), Jenner does at least appear to have some knowledge in the area.
She’s been an outspoken member of the Republican party for years, slamming Hillary Clinton pretty hard last year while also expressing her support for Donald Trump.
And then her disdain for Donald Trump.
“Over the next six months or so I’ve got to figure out where I can do a better job,” Jenner said on the aforementioned radio show, expounding on this topic:
“Can I do a better job from the outside? Working the perimeter of the political scene?
“Or, are you better off from the inside. And we are in the process of determining that. And yeah, I would look for a senatorial run.”
In the summer of 2016, Caitlyn attended the Republican National Convention in Cleveland.
She spoke at an event there in support of LGBT rights and told the women of The Bew last week that she has been meeting with members of the Trump administration to talk about these same issues.
On Sunday, she said she has spoken to United States Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley about topics that means a lot to the gay and transgender community.
If Jenner actually chooses to run in 2018, she will most likely face incumbent Democratic Senator from California Diane Feinstein.
Feinstein has not yet announced her candidacy, but she’ll be up for re-election next November.
You tell us: Would you vote Caitlyn Jenner into the Senate?

Caitlyn Jenner Ponders Gender Reassignment Surgery
Will she or won"t she?
It"s been nearly a year now since Bruce Jenner officially became Caitlyn Jenner, revealing herself to be a woman on a memorable cover of Vanity Fair.
But while Jenner dresses like a woman and identifies herself as a woman, her most private of parts do not yet reflect this major life decision.
Will she ever lose the penis for a vagina? Will she ever have gender reassignment surgery?
In the following clip from I Am Cait Season 2 Episode 7, this exact topic comes up with good friend Jenny Boylan.
"The last six months of my life have been really enlightening," Caitlyn says. "But one thing I"m really not comfortable with is this issue of gender confirmation surgery."
For good reason. It"s a very big deal.
With support from Boylan, Jenner sits down with a pal to discuss the decision.
"It"s something that everyone has to wrestle with individually," she informs Cait. "You know, there are a lot of people who never end up having surgery and yet they"re still men or women."
Be sure to watch I Am Cait online or on television next week in order to see how this episode transpires… and check out the latest sneak peek below:

Donald Trump Ponders Starbucks Boycott, is on Team Christmas
Presidential candidates are tackling the tough issues this week.
Take Jeb Bush, who said in a recent interview that he would kill baby Hitler if given the chance.
And now take Donald Trump (PLEASE!).
The top contender for the Republican nomination spoke to a crowd in Springfield, Illinois on Monday, touching on the debate surrounding Starbucks, which has chosen to make its holiday-themed coffee cups simply red this season.
The lack of Christmas decorations on these cups has caused some to believe that Starbucks hates Jesus.
Where does Trump stand on the giant scandal?
“I have one of the most successful Starbucks, in Trump Tower. Maybe we should boycott Starbucks? I don’t know,” Trump said, adding that he won’t be resigning his lease with the company due to this debacle.
And tossing in a promise to all who feel passionately about this issue:
“If I become president, we’re all going to be saying Merry Christmas again, that I can tell you. That I can tell you.”
It’s unclear, of course, how Trump will enforce this rule.
Will he build a wall around all who refuse to utter those two magical words?
More importantly, where does Trump stand on the topic of ending baby Hitler’s life?
We can only hope (nay… pray!) that these are two of the questions that are posed to the candidate at tonight’s Presidential debate.
