Jay Z FINALLY Addresses Solange Elevator Fight
Late last week, Jay Z spoke on his ongoing feud with Kanye West.
The rapper said his former friend and collaborated crossed a line when he talked about Jay Z’s family in public.
That was a fair and understandable assessment of the situation.
Now, meanwhile, Jay Z finally spoken on his alleged feud with Solange Knowles, making it as clear as possible in a new interview:
There is no actual feud!
In May of 2014, the husband of Beyonce and the sister of Beyonce were captured by surveillance video in a New York City hotel elevator.
They were clearly arguing and, at one point, it appeared as if Solange kicked, punched and lunged at her brother-in-law.
Neither star has ever really addressed the situation, leaving social media users to wonder what the heck happened and many to assume that Jay Z’s infidelity was to blame for this altercation.
Speaking recently to Rap Radar hosts Elliott Wilson and Brian “B.Dot” Miller, the artist did not cite the basis for his disagreement with Solange
But he did make it clear that the contentious water between them is so far under the bridge that it’s barely even a puddle at this point. Heck, it’s not even a drop.
“We had one disagreement ever. Before and after we’ve been cool,” said Jay Z, adding for emphasis:
“She’s like my sister. I will protect her. That’s my sister, not my sister-in-law. My sister. Period.”
Beyonce barely reacted to her sister and husband going at it in the aforementioned footage.
Take that for what you will, Jay Z doesn’t really care.
He knows where things stand within his family and he’s certainly grown used to various rumors about him on the Internet at this point.
“We’ve always had a great relationship,” rapper added of Solange.
“I fought my brothers and argued with my brothers my whole life. It just so happens, who we are, these things go into a different space. But it ain’t nothing.”
While Jay Z is talking as if he didn’t give the elevator incident a second thoughts, music fans and conspiracy theorists can’t help but wonder:
The star’s new album is titled “4:44.”
The address of Le Bain, the rooftop bar of the hotel in which Jay and Solange argued, is 444 West 13th Street. Makes you think and speculate, doesn’t it?
For the record, this is the same interview that featured Jay Z touching on Kanye, telling the hosts of their beef:
“What really hurt me, you can’t bring my kid or my wife into it. … We’ve gotten past bigger issues, but you brought my family into it, now it’s a problem with me.”

Solange Knowles SLAMS Grammys: Where are All the Black Winners?!?
Solange Knowles won a Grammy Award on Sunday night.
But that didn’t stop the singer from using her social media platform to lay into the ceremony just a day later.
Despite ABC confirming that Rachel Lindsay will be the first black Bachelorette in show history last night, Solange believes the entertainment world has a long way to go before it achieves true racial equality.
And she used some history and a bit of math to prove her point.
“There have only been two black winners in the last 20 years for album of the year there have been over 200 black artists who have performed,” Solange Tweeted yesterday.
In a second, since-deleted message, she added:
“Create your own committees, build your own institutions, give your friends awards, award yourself, and be the gold you wanna hold my g’s.”
Solange’s mini rant came after Adele defeated Beyonce in all three major categories at the 2017 Grammys, most notably Album of the Year.
Voters decided that “25” deserved the honor more than “Lemonade,” an outcome that stunned Adele more than anyone.
“I’m very humbled and I’m very grateful and gracious, but my artist of my life is Beyoncé and this album to me, the Lemonade album, was just so monumental,” Adele said in her acceptance speech.
She continued to lavish praise on her good friend and non-rival while on stage, addressing Beyonce herself at one point.
“It was so monumental and so well thought-out and so beautiful and soul-baring,” Adele gushed.
“We all got to see another side to you that you don’t always let us see and we appreciate that. All us artists here adore you. You are our light!”
Solange, meanwhile, Tweeted her criticism of the Grammys not long after she also posted a link to an anti-Grammys Tumblr post written by Frank Ocean.
In his note, Ocean came down hard on the annual event for giving Album of the Year to Taylor Swift’s 1989 last year over Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp a Butterfly.
Ocean didn’t even submit any of his own work for Grammy recognition this year in protest.
He insisted that the awards show suffers from “cultural bias and general nerve damage.”
In response to Ocean’s letter, Solange Tweeted, “wuddup frank.””
Solange won a Grammy this year for Best R&B Performance for her singles “Cranes in the Sky,” but the award wasn’t included among the televised categories.
“Thank you for your well wishes. Gratitude. If I would’ve gotten to accept this, I would’ve said black girls/women ARE grammys mothaf—ka,” she wrote on Sunday in another since-deleted Tweet alongside a photo of herself holding the trophy.
A year after #OscarsSoWhite trended for weeks, a similar movement is cropping up around the Grammys.
Many fans believe Beyone’s Lemonade was snubbed after it won just two awards, despite being nominated for nine.
Rihanna, meanwhile, was nominated for eight Grammys and won zero.
“I felt like it was her time to win,” Adele said backstage on Sunday evening, adding for good measure of Beyonce:
“What the f-ck does she have to do to win Album of the Year?’
Sadly, you know what Solange and other critics would say in respose, right?
They’d say Beyonce has to change her skin color.

Solange Knowles May Have Just Slammed Taylor Swift
Solange Knowles is not one to hold back with her opinion.
Just ask Jay Z after a certain elevator incident that may or may not have been in response to her brother-in-law banging Rachel Roy.
Beyonce’s outspoken sister was up to her cryptic ways again last night, Tweeting a mysterious message soon after the MET Gala concluded in New York City.
“Shout out to when you think you all “artsy and shit” , but your just rude and annoying lol,” Knowles wrote.
Immediately after the Tweet went live, Internet users went nuts, going off on Solange for using the wrong form of the word “you’re.”
Just kidding.
Instead, the Internet went nuts in an attempt to figure out at whom Knowles was throwing shade.
A few theories out there point the finger at Kim Kardashian and/or Kanye West… mostly because those two definitely think they are all “artsy and shit.”
But an intrepid Twitter member who uses the handle @alialmoore thinks she has gotten to the bottom of this mystery.
Just consider the following photo:
At some point during the evening, Solange was part of a group that included Taylor Swift.
We can’t see the expression on her face here, but her head is tilted sideways and it’s not hard to imagine her eyes are also doing some serious rolling.
Swift, of course, recently dyed her hair platinum blonde and went with a weird, rocker chic, metallic type of outfit at the MET Gala.
Might Solange have found her attempts at being edgy and artsy to be irritating and worthy of a Twitter call-out?
Aside from this Tweet, Beyonce and Solange avoided any Lemonade or elevator-based controversy at this year’s event.
Following the actual Gala, the siblings changed into something more comfortable, stepping out of their futuristic gowns and into a white jumpsuit (Solange) and metallic pants (Beyonce) for an after-party.
Here. Take a look:

Solange Knowles: Still Pissed at Jay Z! Validated By "Lemonade" Lyrics!
It’s ancient gossip history at this point, but you probably remember the 2014 incident in which Beyonce’s sister, Solange Knowles, attacked Jay Z in an elevator at a Met Gala after-party.
If you somehow forgot (or just want to relive one of the Carter family’s most profoundly WTF?! moments) check out the video below:
Yeah, when we said “attacked,” we didn’t mean Solange gave Jay a piece of her mind.
The the girl went full Jerry Springer on Hov, and it’s worth noting that her famous sister pretty much just stood there and let it happen.
At the time, it was rumored that Solange was pissed about rumors that Jay was cheating on Bey with Rachel Roy.
Now that Roy is one of the suspected Beckies cited in Bey’s Lemonade release as possible Jay side-pieces, Solange must be feeling more than a little smug.
The lesser-known Knowles has been in favor of her sister dropping the Jigga Man for quite some time, and it seems she’s no longer alone in her efforts.
“Everyone in Beyonce’s family is supportive of them staying together except for Solange,” a source tells Hollywood Life.
“She was so happy when Beyonce was making moves to leave Jay Z – she thinks Beyonce deserves better than a guy that wants to run around. “
We think pretty much everyone would agree with that.
The source adds that Bey has tried to force her husband and sister to patch things up, but that now that seems less likely than ever:
“Beyonce tried to make Solange and Jay Z kiss and make up, but it hasn’t really worked. They’re civil with each other for Beyonce’s sake, but that’s as far as it goes.”
So it looks like Solange was right and Jay was acting like a dog.
The only question now is: does Bey’s little sister know who Becky is?

Solange Knowles: Do NOT Call My Son Ugly
Some Instagram user thought she would be clever and criticize Solange Knowles‘ son and get away with it.
Julez, Solange’s with ex-husband, Daniel Smith, dressed up for Halloween in an Adidas suit with oversized headphones, so Solange shared it with her followers via Instagram.
“Young cool J too cool for ghost and goblins,” mom wrote.
Aaand out came the troll (just one, thank heavens).
“So cute but at the same time he ugly,” troll Instagram commented.
Mama bears don’t take kindly to such talk, but instead of going Elevator-Jay-Z, Solange killed the hater with sage words:
“@alexandriaaaf Jussst as I thought it was safe to share pictures again, a young’n like you decides to use her time to spread ugliness.
“I don’t fault you, I can only imagine why you would feel the need to say such things, but thanks again for being a reminder that out of all the love and wonderful energy shared, that when I open up a space for an innocent beautiful being like my boy to be criticized and judged, that I WILL most likely respond, and that he receives enough love and celebration at home that it’s just not worth it to go down this road.”
I love this chick.
