Miley Cyrus: Hip Hop is NOT All About "Cock" Sucking and "Dick" Sitting!
Miley Cyrus may not smoke weed anymore.
But that doesn’t mean the singer is free from all controversy.
In the latest issue of Billboard, which hits newsstands on May 11, the singer talks about how she’s turned over a new leaf. Literally, that is.
“I used to [resist changing],” she tells the magazine, citing her penchant for marijuana and adding:
“But I haven’t smoked weed in three weeks, which is the longest I’ve ever [gone without it].
“I’m not doing drugs, I’m not drinking, I’m completely clean right now! That was just something that I wanted to do.”
These comments garnered the bulk of attention Miley received for her Billboard cover story, but some fans dug a little deeper and took note of another area in which Cyrus said she had made a change.
When asked if folk singer Melanie Safka (with whom Cyrus performed in 2015) influenced her in any way, Cyrus replied as follows:
She did, and I grew up with her. I also love that new Kendrick [Lamar] song [‘Humble’]: ‘Show me somethin’ natural like ass with some stretch marks."”
Miley went on to explain why she’s into this particular track:
“I love that because it’s not, ‘Come sit on my d-ck, suck on my c-ck.’ I can’t listen to that anymore. That’s what pushed me out of the hip-hop scene a little.
“It was too much, ‘Lamborghini, got my Rolex, got a girl on my c-ck.’ I am so not that.”
Cyrus, of course, is not the first person to make this sort of comment.
Plenty of critics have come down hard on rap and hip hop music for lyrics that treat women as objects… at best.
It’s not exactly an industry known for always respecting anyone without a penis.
But is Miley really the best person to come out and make such a critique? Not according to many on Twitter, who roated Cyrus late last week for these remarks.
In response, the artist jumped on Instagram over the weekend and stopped short of apologizing.
However, she did seem to recognize where the disdain stemmed from and issued a lengthy statement that further expounded on her Billboard quote.
Here it is:
When articles are read it isn’t always considered that for hours I’ve spoken with a journalist about my life , where my heart is, my perspective at that time, and the next step in my career.
Unfortunately only a portion of that interview makes it to print, & A lot of the time publications like to focus on the most sensationalized part of the conversation.
So, to be clear I respect ALL artists who speak their truth and appreciate ALL genres of music (country , pop , alternative …. but in this particular interview I was asked about rap) I have always and will continue to love and celebrate hip hop as I’ve collaborated with some of the very best!
At this point in my life I am expanding personally/musically and gravitating more towards uplifting, conscious rap!
As I get older I understand the effect music has on the world & Seeing where we are today I feel the younger generation needs to hear positive powerful lyrics! I am proud to be an artist with out borders and thankful for the opportunity to explore so many different styles/ sounds!
I hope my words (sung or spoken) always encourage others to LOVE…. Laugh…. Live fully…. to be there for one another… to unify, and to fight for what’s right (human , animal , or environmental ) Sending peace to all!

Pretty fair and reasonable response to the situation, wouldn’t you say?
It certainly is true that publications sometimes pick and choose which quotes they print, occasionally failing to paint a full picture of their subjects.
We appreciate Miley clarifying her point of view on this topic.

Mom Arrested After Toddler Found Alone in Yard Sucking on Frozen Chicken Breast
Hallie Elizabeth Amick of Des Moines, Iowa, was arrested on Monday, August 8, after her young son was found alone in a back yard.
The two-year-old was sucking on a frozen chicken breast.
Amick, 30, was charged with child endangerment causing physical injury and drug possession after police were made aware of the situation.
An officer stopped Amick’s boyfriend for speeding, and the man told police he was rushing home because a child had been left alone.
Another officer was sent to check the house and found the child alone in the yard, with a full diaper, sucking on a frozen chicken breast.
A small dog, a terrier, was jumping at the boy, trying to get the chicken, police said, and sadly, this incident may not have been the first.
Their neighbor told the Des Moines Register that she has previously seen the dog bite the little boy, and the boy hit the dog with sticks.
“His diaper was almost down to his knees,” said Deborah Snyder, 57, who sees the yard from her apartment window (above and below).
Police who searched the home in question found a marijuana pipe, “blunts” and marijuana stems there, according to the Iowa newspaper.
Amick returned home almost two hours after the cops were called, claiming it was the first and only time she had left her child unattended.
Not according to her neighbor, however.
Snyder said Amick often leaves the child alone at home, which seems even more difficult to believe than leaving children in a hot car.
“This is the first time he got out of the house, but ever since they moved in they (left) him alone,” Snyder said of the troubling situation.
Again, not necessarily the case.
Another neighbor told police she once found the child alone in the middle of the street at one point, which would be a hard sight to invent.
Once confronted with the statements regarding her negligence made by her neighbors, Amick admitted she left the child alone on “occasion.”
The Iowa Department of Human Services was dispatched to the scene, but would not discuss the custody of the 2-year-old at this time.
Amick was released from jail after her first court hearing this week, and has declined public comment on the matter for obvious reasons.
The boyfriend may face charges as well, officials say.
La Baccam, who lives next to the house, says she heard the baby crying for a long time outside, but she thought the mother was home.
“I don’t know how in the world this mother can leave a baby like that,” Baccam said, echoing the sentiments of anyone reading this.
“If I knew that had happened, I’d ask police if I could keep the baby for myself, because I feel so sad for that baby.”

Amber Portwood: MASSIVE Tax Debt Revealed! Is Matt Baier Sucking Her Dry?!
For six seasons now, Amber Portwood has been pulling in six-figure paychecks for her “work” on Teen Mom.
So you’d think by now she would be pretty stable financially.
But in true Teen Mom fashion, it seems that “stable” is pretty much the last word one would use to describe Amber’s life.
Radar Online is reporting today that Amber has been hit with a federal tax lien after accumulating more than $ 130,000 in debt to the US government.
Sources say Amber was notified of the lien in February of this year, and she reportedly has yet to pay a dime on it.
As we said, Ms. Portwood has been pulling in the bucks for most of her adult life, a fact that’s left many wondering how she could’ve possibly racked up that sort of debt.
Not surprisingly, many fans are now pointing the finger at Amber’s deadbeat dad fiance, Matt Baier.
In case you haven’t been keeping score at home, Baier may have as many as nine children by seven different women, all of whom claim he hasn’t been supporting his kids financially.
There have even been rumors that he’s rushing his marriage to Portwood so that his debt can become their debt.
We have no way of knowing if that’s true, but some fans are speculating that Amber is trying to help her man pay off his baby mama before the wedding – and the effort has left her buried under a mountain of debt.
Whatever the case, it looks like Amber is still making some seriously questionable decisions with regard to both her romances and her finances.
Here’s hoping she can get some money advice from the bafflingly wealthy Farrah Abraham.
