Johnny Depp owns a lot of nice things.
He has a private island, houses in several different countries, approximately 47,000 raggedy scarves – but one thing he doesn’t own anymore is a 156-foot luxury yacht.
The reason? Depp’s new wife Amber Heard didn’t like its weird name.
The yacht was called Vajoliroja, which sounds like an STD that Johnny contracted while he was dating Kate Moss, but is actually inspired by the names of Johnny’s kids, Lily Rose and Jack, and their mom, Vanessa Paradis.
“Johnny loved that yacht. But he bought it for Vanessa,” an insider tells Us Weekly. “And Amber is still jealous of her.”
We guess between talking about killing and eating his dogs and revealing his desire to beat people with bricks, selling a boat is not one of the weirdest things Depp has done in recent weeks, but it still seems odd that Amber would make such a big deal out of something so petty.
We guess a little childishness comes with the territory of marrying someone 23 years your junior.
Of course a yacht sale is a big, public thing that will only reinforce the rumors that Johnny and Amber are having problems, but maybe she thinks it’s essential if they’re going to move on together.
Whatever the case, it sounds like these two are a long way from smooth sailing.
