Ever since Beyonce dropped her new album “Lemonade,” fans have been focused on one line from the track “Sorry.”
More specifically, they are zoning in on one person she sings about in the line:
Becky.
The line being “Becky with the good hair,” referring to the woman Bey’s husband Jay Z cheated on her with.
Initially, the Beyhive swarmed in on Rachel Roy, convinced the fashion designer was the infamous Becky after she teased as much on Instagram.
But when Roy denied the allegations, the hive pointed their stingers at Rita Ora after she posted a selfie wearing a bra with lemons on the cups plus a gold “J” necklace.
(Side note: all women must avoid any association with lemons altogether for at least two years.)
Of course, Ora denied being the rapper’s love honey as well, insisting she had “nothing but the upmost respect for Beyonce.”
So, who is Becky, then?
According to a source close to Beyonce, she’s a composite of ALL of Jay-Z’s many mistresses over the years.
“I don’t think Beyoncé is calling out one girl,” the source told Page Six.
“It is many girls. The rumors have been around for years.”
The source went on to say that Jay Z cleaned up his act after daughter Blue Ivy was born and has been faithful to Beyonce since.
However, a second source reveals a second, possibly more plausible explanation: that this whole “Becky” brouhaha is all about generating publicity.
“They develop these storylines to sell albums,” said the source. “‘Lemonade’ is a movie crafted to drive sales.”
“Jay and Beyoncé are entertainers at the top of their game. Do you think Jay would release her album on [his own] Tidal if it really was all about him? He is 100 percent behind this.”
Bingo.
We’d just like to know what kind of a cut Roy and Ora are getting for their assists.
