Britney Spears on Anxiety: I"m Far More Accepting of Myself

Britney Spears has had some some very public rough patches. 

After having a meltdown in 2007, it appeared that the Princess of pop would never return to the limelight.

Everyone was super worried about her, but she’s continuing to prove that she’s great at comebacks. 

After “Britney Jean” failed to get much traction with critics or in the sales department, Spears focused on her residency in Las Vegas. 

However, she recently returned with a brand new album that just so happens to be her best one in years.

If you haven’t listened to it, you should. It’s vintage Britney Spears. 

Britney took to the MTV VMAs stage on August 28. There was a lot riding on the performance due to an unpopular performance in 2007 that had her stumbling through a dance routine. 

Thankfully, her latest performance went down a storm with fans. The downside was that she was overshadowed by Beyonce.

Britney also chose to mime her way through the performance, but her dancing was an energetic affair that got mostly everyone talking for all the right reasons. 

What more could Spears want?

We do know that she didn’t want a smooch of G-Eazy. As much as she denies it, her performing partner definitely leaned in for a kiss with her.

Since the dust settled on her performance, Britney has been doing the rounds with interviews to promote “Glory.”

It serves as her ninth studio album. 

In an interview with Marie Claire, Britney revealed some of the finer details about her crippling anxiety. 

“I moved to Los Angeles when I was very young. I was so under scrutiny,” Spears recalled.

“If a hair was out of place, I’d be so anxious. I would get very anxious about so many things.”

Spears went on to speak about how being a mother helped her overcome her anxiety. 

“Becoming a mother and being with my boys has made me so much more accepting of myself. I’m their mom, whatever,” the mother of two explained.

“That has been a really big thing for me over these last few years.”

Britney Spears: G-Eazy Did Not Try To Kiss Me!

Britney Spears returned to the VMAs on August 28, 2016 with an energetic performance. 

It was a long time coming for the singing sensation, who was previously slammed for stumbling her way through a performance in 2007. 

If you recall, that performance was under a year after her very public 2007 meltdown. 

She looked uncomfortable all the way through. She was a shell of her former self. 

Thankfully, her big return was met with positive response from viewers. 

Viewers took note of a particular part of the performance in which G-Eazy leaned in for a smooch with Spears. 

It sure looked like Britney declined his request and G-Eazy followed it up by winking at the audience. 

The chemistry between the pair was undeniable, so it was only natural that viewers would start talking about the moment on social media. 

The pair were also all over each other on the red carpet before the career defining performance. 

They really look like they would be a great couple, but Britney doesn’t believe G-Eazy leaned in for a kiss with her.

In fact, she shut it down pretty quickly while chatting with 92.3 AMP Radio co-hosts Shoboy and Nina on Tuesday, August 30. 

“No, I don’t think so,” she said.

“He has a girlfriend!”

There you have it. It was just a false alarm. 

Britney also chatted about why they were so close during the performance. 

“In rehearsals, there wasn’t really anything planned for us to do, so when we got there … I didn’t honestly really know what I was doing, and I kind of do something similar to that in my show in Vegas, so I went on automatic with what I do performing live, and I just did what I do to the dancers in Vegas,” Spears explained.

“We did rehearse. We had one rehearsal. We didn’t really touch each other. It was just like, ‘Hey, OK, you do your thing. I’ll do my thing."”

Britney Spears SLAMMED for Revealing VMAs Outfit

Britney Spears is officially back.

Because she performed on stage at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night? Sure. That’s part of it at least.

But she’s mostly back because Britney has once again come under fire for donning a risque outfit for a performance.

We know, right?!? HOW DARE SHE?!?

The Parents Television Council isn’t thrilled with Spears’ performance (although they did say the broadcast was “less explicit” than in recent years), and wants everyone to know that they are very offended by how sexual Spears’ performance was.

“Viacom and MTV need to make a pivotal choice about the sexualization of women: either they must decide that it is good, or they must decide that it is bad,” Tim Winter, president of PTC said, according to Entertainment Weekly.

“Sadly, last night’s program contained concerning levels of sexualization throughout the night.

“When you have the juxtaposition of the U.S. women’s Olympic gymnastics team and their positive image of what’s healthy and right, contrasted with the sexualizing content that was so pervasive on the rest of the program, MTV is sending starkly-conflicting messages about what is important.

“So MTV, which one is it?”

I have so many thoughts on this.  First of all, has Mr. Winter ever seen Spears perform before Sunday night?  Her whole schtick is sex.  That’s just what she does.  She used to wear a thong over her jeans.  Why are we suprised by this?

As far as calling out the juxtaposition of Olympians Simone Biles, Aly Raisman, Laurie Hernandez and Madison Kocian with Spears’ performance, the VMAs (and the Movie Awards, for that matter) are a celebration of pop culture for adults, not families, and certainly not kids.

Not surprisingly, PTC also called out Kanye West’s “Famous” music video, in which a sweaty Teyana Taylor danced in nothing more than a sports bra and thong.

And so, society will do what they always do when the PTC calls out major events for being in appropriate, and ignore it.  And then watch Spears’ performance again.

Britney Spears Refuses G-Eazy"s Kiss at VMAs, Things Get Awkward

If you were watching the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards, then you definitely saw things get sexual on stage thanks to Britney Spears. 

Specifically, between the pop legend and G-Eazy during their electric performance of Spears’ newest single, “Make Me.”

If you didn’t know any better, you’d swear that Spears and Eazy were sleeping together, because the chemistry was definitely there.

Heck, the 34-year-old upped the suggestive ante when she placed her hands on the Oakland native’s junk at one point.

Things got super weird, though, when Eazy went in for a kiss, and Spears shook her head as she continued to “sing.”

Spears and Eazy walked the red carpet together before the show started in NYC, with Britney posting a photo to Instagram.

Her caption? “My partner in rhyme.”

I will say that I appreciated her sliding through Eazy’s legs to re-enact a bit of her best performance ever (2000 VMAs, below).

So if it takes a little teasing to get the old Britney Spears back (not the 2007 sedated Spears), then goodness knows I’m all for it.

Refuse those kisses, Brit.

Even though you had to feel for the rapper (we suppose) Britney’s fans loved the rejection, lighting up a storm on Twitter afterward.

“SO WE NOT TALKING ABOUT HOW G EAZY TRIED TO KISS BRITTNEY AND SHE SWERVED. #VMAs2016,” one CAPS LOCK loving fan wrote.

“In 2011 she rejected Gaga’s kiss. In 2016 she rejected G-Eazy’s kiss,” said another, referencing when Gaga’s male alter ego tried to get some.

Other choice comments were along these lines:

“G-Eazy was trying to savage up and kiss Britney but she wasn’t going #BritneyOnVMAs”

“Shawty tried to kiss homie and he curved her badly”

“He was just trying to have a kiss moment with her and she was like Goodnight #VMAs

Today, Spears went on Elvis Duran to recap the performance, and of course didn’t address the fact that Eazy tried to go in for the kill.

Instead, she offered a generic assessment:

“We wanted to do something different, something I’ve never done before. So that was probably the coolest thing we could come up with.”

Even though she made it clear there would be no boning or even heavy petting going on, Britney did throw him a bone … so to speak.

“Oh, he’s so sweet!” she raved to Duran.

“He’s got a lot of swag,” Spears added of Eazy, who may or may not be heard from again, “he’s got the whole cool thing going on.”

Britney Spears is officially all the way back.

Let there be no more debate.

The pop singing sensation returned to the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night, nearly a decade after she last graced that stage.

A whole lot has taken place in Britney"s professional and personal life since then, but she"s been on the impressive comeback trail of late.

There’s the artist’s ongoing, popular residency in Las Vegas and, most recently, the new album Glory.

There was that beloved appearance on Carpool Karaoke and the release of her latest single, "Make Me…"

Joined by G-Eazy at the VMAs, Britney was decked out in a revealing yellow leotard, dancing around like the old days and clearly having a blast.

Just look at the smile on her face in a couple of these photographs.

Over the years, the VMAs have been like a second home for Britney.

She first performed in 1999 and went in to win Video of the Year in 2008. She was then honored with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award in 2011, which was also the last year she was nominated for any hardware.

But we have a feeling that will change going forward.

Britney Spears Sings Carpool Karaoke!

Oops, James Corden has done it again!

The Late Late Show host has conducted yet another version of Carpool Karaoke, doing it this time with the unoffiical, all-time Queen of Pop Music:

Aside from just singing many of Britney"s smash hits with the artist, Corden posed a few pressing questions to Britney.

He asked about the origins of "Oops I Did It Again." He asked what it"s like for Britney"s kids to see her dance all sexy. He asked what her hotel alias names are.

At one point, Corden dressed up like a Catholic School Girl.

And we may be the same ever again as a result.

Does Spears want more children? Yes.

But does she want to get married again? No.

Among the tracks covered by Spears and Corden? "Toxic,” “Womanizer,” “Make Me,” and “Baby One More Time."

Elsewhere during the fun ride, Corden admitted to once seeing his mother in her underwear when he was a child and being unable to “shake the image from my brain.”

Spears playfully slapped him in response, telling the British talk show host, “You’re so dirty!”

From there, they talked about bondage and tickling, as well as the fake name Anita Dick.”

Carpool Karaoke, of course, has become one of the most popular segments on late-night television.

Past participants have included Jennifer Lopez, Adele, Justin Bieber and Michelle Obama.

Britney Spears has done a lot of crazy stuff throughout her lengthy career. 

No, we"re not just talking about that time she shaved her head. 

Even before her very public meltdown, Spears did many things that had fans questioning what was really going on with her. 

We have a list of the craziest things she has ever done. 

1. I’m A Snake 4 U

Remember that time she performed with a live snake at the MTV VMAs back in 2001? So much could have went wrong, but we’re thankful it all went okay.

2. A Chaotic Reality Show

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline featured in a terrible reality show about their relationship. Britney seemed uncomfortable the whole time and tried to make silly jokes. It lasted 5 episodes. It aired on The UPN, a now defunct network.

3. Baby on Board

Britney made headlines for carrying her son, Sean Preston, on her lap, while driving. She tried to justify it by blaming the paparazzi, but later owned up to the mistake.

4. See ya, Rehab!

Britney checked in and out of rehab twice in one week. That led to her shaving her head. She stormed into a Los Angeles salon and demanded to have her hair shaved off. When the owner refused, she shaved her own hair.

5. The Blame Game

Sean Preston once fell off his high chair, so Britney blamed the high char manufacturer.

6. Don’t Take Pictures!

Britney once done the unthinkable. A photographer was harrassing her, so she ran over his foot. Yikes.

Britney Spears: Movie In the Works!

Britney Spears has had an eventful life. 

It’s crazy to think there hasn’t already been a movie of her life, but it’s finally happening over on Lifetime. 

Lifetime has a track record for terrible movies that really should never have seen the light of day, but might Britney’s movie change things a little?

Probably not. 

There’s no denying that Britney has had a lot of ups and downs throughout her lengthy career. 

She’s had a string of chart topping hits.

She may have lost some ground in the charts over the last few years, but her new material is still as infectious as ever. 

The movie will feature the breakdown of her marriage to Kevin Federline, which resulted in her losing custody of her children. 

We have ideas for who we’d like to play Britney, but it appears the role has already been filled.

Natasha Bassett will be portraying the singer and we’re actually pretty excited about this casting.

Bassett’s most recent movie was Hail, Caesar. It was a moderate success at the box office. 

The movie will no doubt be stuffed with drama, but hopefully it doesn’t feel rushed.

Britney Spears Helps Raise Money for Louisiana Flood Victims

Britney Spears is working her magic to help do some good for her home state of Louisiana. 

The 34-year-old singing sensation is helping to raise funds for the victims of the massive floods that have devastated the state. 

Britney is using her upcoming performance at the MTV Video Music Awards as a way to to raise money. 

One of the prizes up for grabs is two roundtrip tickets to New York and two tickets to the award show. 

The award show airs on Sunday August 28, 2016. 

Spears will also be giving the lucky winner the chance to meet her before the show kicks off in Madison Square Garden.

If you don’t win that prize, you could be in with a chance of winning the outfit Spears wears to the awards show, as well as an autographed copy of her latest album. 

Those are pretty great perks and the money is all going to a great cause. 

Britney took to Facebook to help promote the campaign.
