Tyler Honeycutt, Former UCLA Basketball Standout, Dead After Shootout with Cops
Tyler Honeycutt, a former star for the UCLA Bruins who played parts of two seasons in the NBA, was found dead on Friday inside his home after a violent standoff with the police.
He was 27 years old.
The details behind Honeycutt’s death are both sad and bizarre.
The Los Angeles Police Department and L.A. Fire Department told USA Today, TMZ and other media outlets that a man with a firearm shot at officers around5p.m. on Friday, prior to barricading himself inside his Sherman Oaks, California home for nine hours.
The SWAT team eventually arrived and entered the residence … only to find Honeycutt lying on the ground, unresponsive.
On Saturday afternoon, the official LAPD Twitter account die not cite Honeycutt by name, but did provide an update on the situation from the evening before, writing:
Regarding last nights Officer-Involved Shooting in Van Nuys Division, it appears as if the suspect was not struck by any officer’s gunfire.
The suspect appears to have sustained injuries consistent with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
TMZ reports that a gun was found inside the premises, near Honeycutt’s body, and it is presumed he took his own life.
This same website says that Honeycutt’s mother was the person who called police Friday, saying her son was acting erratically on Friday.
The former college star’s family has confirmed his passing to a local ABC affiliate, while his agent has done the same to the Russian team for whom Honeycutt had been playing professionally.
No officers were injured in the altercation, according to LAPD.
Meanwhile, several residents in the area had been evacuated as a precaution.
Honeycutt earned All-Pac-10 First Team honors in 2011 as a sophomore, leading his team to the NCAA Tournament.
He was then drafted by the Sacramento Kings in the second roundon tha NBA Draft, playing sporadically for two seasons with them, before heading to Europe to continue his career.
He most recently played with Moscow’s BC Khimki.
Former Kings teammate DeMarcus Cousins was one of several players to mourn Honeycutt’s death on social media, Tweeting this afternoon after the tragic news broke:
“Prayers up for his family and friends. Rest easy bro!”
Honeycutt’s coach at Khimki, Giorgios Bartzokas, was too overwhelmed to comment, saying simply when asked by reporters:
“I am sorry I cannot talk right now, I am really sad.”
Added New Orleans Pelicans point guard Jrue Holiday:
“Still can’t believe this… Rest In Peace to my brother Tyler Honeycutt.”
Our thoughts and condolences go out to the friends, family members and loved ones of Tyler Honeycutt.
May he rest in peace.

Jenelle Evans Flaunts Drug Stash, Ditches Cops In Shocking Teen Mom 2 Preview!
At this point, it"s almost impossible to imagine that Jenelle Evans could sink any lower in the estimation of Teen Mom 2 viewers.
Yet somehow, the Carolina Hurricane keeps discovering new rock bottoms.
Recently, the revelation that Jenelle keeps her pills out in the open in a house full of toddlers is the latest thing to piss fans off.
And that"s arguably not even the most shocking Jenelle behavior of the week.
So prepare yourself for a deep dive into the psyche of reality TV"s most maligned villain, as we break down Jenelle"s latest colossal f–k up.
1. The Cops Come A-Callin’
Our scene begins with a Teen Mom 2 producer informing Jenelle that there’s a sheriff at the door. Jenelle seems remarkably unfazed, but still refuses to answer the door.
2. Sheriff On the Land
Asked by the producer why someone might have called the police, Jenelle replies, “There’s nothing I did, so [shrug].” Like we said, she doesn’t seem terribly concerned.
3. You Gotta Warrant?
Jenelle asks if the sheriff “has papers in his hand.” You know you’re a horrendous mom when you’re this casual about the cops being called to your home for a wellness check.
4. Her Bright Idea
At this point, Jenelle decides to have David answer the door, because apparently, he’s the brains behind the operation.
5. Calling In the Big Guns
When the knocking began, Jenelle and David were sequestered in the back of the house and took a long tiime emerging.
6. The Alibi
“I’ve been here at my house, not worrying about no one, not doing shit,” Jenelle explains. Can someone explain to her that being completely inactive is not a good thing when you have kids?

Farrah Abraham STILL In Jail After Telling Cops to Go F--k Themselves!
Oh, Farrah.
When you got fired from Teen Mom OG for generally being an awful person, we thought your days of entertaining/depressing us with your bonkers bad behavior had come to an end.
In retrospect, we should’ve known a day like today was coming.
In case you missed it, Farrah was arrested on charges of battery and trespassing last night after allegedly assaulting a male staff member at the famed Beverly Hills Hotel.
According to the police report, she was booked at 1:48 AM.
As of right now, she’s still being held on $ 500 bail.
We still don’t know what set Farrah off (although we do know that booze was involved), but TMZ has obtained video of Farrah’s arrest, and as you may have guessed — it ain’t pretty.
At one point, one of the arresting officers begins searching Farrah’s purse, and the former reality star demonstrates that even in her state of inebriation, she’s well aware of the reality of her situation:
“Do you want to do that on camera so that everyone at TMZ can see?” Farrah asks.
Further proving that her diva-like attitude remains intact, Farrah tells one of the officers, “I don’t want to be arrested.”
She then repeats the phrase “I am not going to be provoked to be arrested” several times.
Then things really take a turn for the worse, as Abraham screams, “I am not resisting you!” before breaking down in tears (a classic Farrah tactic) and accusing one of the officers of hurting her.
A spokesperson for Farrah issued a statement today in which she thanked fans for their “concern” and urged them to “remember there are two sides to every story.”
Meanwhile, police have issued their own statement, in which they state the painfully obvious and confirm that Farrah has hammered at the time of her arrest.
“Officers noted that Abraham exhibited signs of intoxication during the investigation,” stated Lieutenant Elisabeth Albanese with the Beverly Hills Police Department this afternoon.
It may be hard to believe, given her many years of batsh-t behavior, but this is only Farrah’s second arrest.
The first took place in 2013, when she was hauled in on DUI charges.
Back then, she pled guilty and was sentenced to six months probation.
This time, Farrah might find herself facing a stiffer penalty.
For one thing, she’s no longer a first offender.
On top of that, there’s a legal precedent in this case, as it was just last year that Farrah’s fellow reality star Kim Richards was arrested for a drunken assault at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
Richards very narrowly avoided jail time, but even if Farrah proves equally lucky, she’s got another problem on her hands:
Sources have indicated that Farrah’s 9-year-old daughter Sophia was with her in the hotel on the night of the incident.
Sophia is currently in the care of a nanny, but Farrah might soon be facing a custody challenge from her mother, Debra Danielsen:
“She needs to be with her family, not about strangers and volatility and her mother being arrested,” Danielsen told Radar when asked about Sophia.
“It’s very disgusting. She needs to go to school… She needs to not be dragged on a party all over the world.”
