Animal Shelter Dreams Up Pokemon Go Idea, Restores Faith In Humanity

Perhaps this game isn’t a complete waste of time, after all.

After reading that Pokemon go characters were located at places like Auschwitz and Arlington National Cemetery, it’s refreshing to learn that some people are putting the game to good use.

The Muncie Animal Shelter in Muncie, Indiana came up with the idea to enlist players to help walk dogs while they chase after gas-burping purple creatures and the like.

And so, every Tuesday Morning volunteers can take part in “Pokemon Dogs.”

The shelter’s director, Phil Peckinpaugh, told ABC News that he came up with the idea after watching his 6-year-old daughter, Ruthie and his 7-year-old nephew play the popular game.

“I started playing with Ruthie, and it was actually pretty fun,” Peckinpaugh said.

“Then the other day, while on my way to work, I noticed droves of young people walking around playing this game. I thought, ‘Wouldn’t it be great if all those people were walking with our dogs?"”

Peckinpaugh designed a flyer incorporating characters from the game and posted it to the shelter’s Facebook page.

So far, the ad has received over 27,000 shares and over 1,000 comments.

“There’s been an incredible response, and it’s just kind of taken off,” Peckinpaugh said. “We even had to go and buy more leashes this morning.”

Those who left comments on the Facebook post encouraged their local shelters to do the same.

“Wow! Very impressed with this idea!” One person wrote.  “What a great way to combine good fun with good citizenship!”

“IM DOING THIS ON FRIDAY” another wrote enthusiastically.

The hope, obviously, is that some of these volunteers will want to recruit the dogs as their Pokemon Go teammate/forever fur child.

“Maybe you even fall in love and come back and adopt that dog one day,” Peckinpaugh said.

Kylie Jenner: No Makeup, No Idea It"s Her!

Kylie Jenner is baring it all on Instagram.

No, not like THAT. Not this time around at least.

Instead, the 18-year old reality star is baring her real face, covering it with no makeup whatsoever and making us wonder whether this is really a picture of Kylie Jenner or not.

We’re pretty sure it is.

It does mostly look like her.

But it takes on a couple moments and a very close look to be sure, wouldn’t you say?

Jenner captioned the unexpected selfie with one simple word, “Hello.”

It has received 1.3 million Likes at the time of this writing, including one from The Hollywood Gossip.

It’s refreshing to see these sisters in their natural state, isn’t it?

They cover themselves in far too much mascara most of the time, typically because they are paid by various brands to do so.

For comparison’s sake, here’s a look at Kylie rocking A LOT of makeup, most notably the new lip kit color “Dark of Knight” that will go on sale this Friday.

Quite a stark contrast, huh?

This isn’t the Keeping Up with the Kardashians actress has posed fresh-faced for followers. Just last month, she showed off her natural freckles and wrote as a caption at the time:

“When everyone’s drawing on freckles but [you’re] always covering yours.”

To their credit, other members of Kylie’s famous family have also ditched their makeup at different times over the years.

Take a look below at this collection of Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Kylie Jenner and Kendall Jenner photos.

Well done, ladies!

Tyga Thinks He Has a Great Idea for a Reality Show

You can take Tyga out of the reality star.

But you can’t take the desire to be a reality star out of Tyga.

A few weeks after splitting from Kylie Jenner, the not very successful rapper is reportedly pitching networks on a series centered around his life.

According to Life & Style, he even has a name for the impending series: Tyga’s Den.

That’s not bad, actually. Especially in light of E!’s lame decision to title the upcoming Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna series “Rob & Chyna.”

Those who watch Keeping Up with the Kardashians online have caught appearances by Tyga here and there over the two years he dated Jenner.

And an insider tells the aforementioned tabloid that the artist grew accustomed to those paychecks.

How is he trying to sell networks on cutting him a big one for his very own program?

“He’s promising potential appearances by Scott Disick and Lamar Odom,” a source claims.

As you might expect, members of the Kardashian family are “absolutely furious” over the prospect of three three men – all of whom have had sex with Kardashian/Jenner sisters – appearing on the same show together.

But “Tyga’s no dummy,” Life & Style writes.

“He knows having other Kardashian exes like Scott and Lamar on his show will bring in viewers.”

He’s correct, of course. And this actually could become an interesting idea.

Who out there would NOT tune in for a series centered on the men whose lives have been ruined by the Kardashians?

We could throw James Harden into the mix as well. We all know he isn’t busy getting into shape for the next NBA season.

The guy probably has plenty of free time on his plate.

Abandoned Newborns Offered Refuge In Boxes: Horrific Or Good Idea?

There are two schools of though when it comes to an issue such as thing: Does a certain solution alleviate the problem or perpetuate it?

A new way to protect newborns who have been abandoned by their mothers has launched in the United States.

“Baby Hatches” which are common in parts of Europe and Asia, are like the idea behind “Baby Safe Haven,” except this one offers women total anonymity while still assuring the baby’s safety.

The first of its kind in the states is located in Woodburn, Indiana, and funded by the state’s Knights of Columbus.

Each box costs between $ 1500 and $ 2000, and on the outside looks like any other.

Inside, however, is a padded, climate controlled container that will set off an alarm to first responders once the baby is placed inside.

To add even more security, as soon as the parent “deposits” her child inside the box, it then locks and can’t be opened from the outside.

The idea is to prevent babies being abandoned in unsafe environments, like bathrooms, dumpsters and the like.

The second one in the country was placed in Michigan on May 5th.

Those opposed to the baby hatch idea claim that this will prevent new moms from seeking post-partum medical care or exploring other options, like going directly to a hospital.

Monica Kelsey was herself abandoned as an infant, and has been working to implement baby hatches for the past sixteen years.

This is not criminal,” Kelsey, who volunteers with a crisis hotline for mothers not wanting their babies, said.

“This is legal. We don’t want to push women away.”

It might sound like a startling idea at first, but the more options parents who can’t raise their children, the better.

Some might liken it to providing drug users with clean needles.  Yes, it could certainly perpetuate the issue, but it also prevents the spread of diseases associated with using dirty needles.

Kim Kardashian Sex Tape: Was It All Kris Jenner"s Idea?!

Even if you’ve never actually watched it (we’re not here to judge!), by now you likely know all the details of the Kim Kardashian sex tape and how it came to be.

There’s not much of a plot in the video itself (though there’s certainly a climax! Hi-oh!), but the tale of the tape itself is basically the story of how a well-heeled, blended Calabasas clan becoming one of the most famous families in the world. And not surprisingly, Kris Jenner masterminded the whole thing.

For years, it’s been more or less taken for granted that Kris planned the release of Kim’s sex tape, but now a new tell-all by author Ian Halperin will reportedly blow the lid of the surprisingly elaborate plan to make Kim the world’s most highly-paid “amateur” porn star.

“Kris was totally involved in arranging the sale of Kim’s tape,” Halperin claims in the upcoming Kardashian Dynasty

Halperin quotes various sources who confirm that Kris had very specific plans for how to profit from the tape while at the same time making it appear to the public as though the footage had been stolen and leaked.

“It was Kris who engineered the deal behind the scenes and was responsible for the tape seeing the light of day,” says one insider.

“A third party brought it to Vivid. [We] got in touch with the Kardashian family,” a rep for the well-known adult film production company tells Halperin.

”I can tell you right now: Kim Kardashian’s movie came out in ’07, and she’s made millions.”

Of course, the profits from the tape pale in comparison to the hundreds of millions that Kim and her family have made in the years since they gained fame from its release.

Say what you will about Kris Jenner’s scruples – the woman knows how to turn a buck.

Blac Chyna SLAMS Kylie Jenner: B-tch Stole My Idea!

For a while there, it looked as though the feud between Blac Chyna and Kylie Jenner was a thing of the past.

It was widely assumed that Kylie more or less admitted defeat after Blac began dating Rob Kardashian, and it seemed that even if they hadn’t fully buried the hatchet, the ladies had at least agreed to remain civil to one another. Now it looks like the truce is over and they’re right back to square one – all thanks to yams:

That’s a still from Kylie’s new cooking show, the not-so-imaginatively-titled, Cooking With Kylie.

In her debut, which was released today, Kylie and her Metallica-t-shirted friend made candied yams, because apparently when Kylie wants a snack she whips up a random Thanksgiving side dish.

You can watch the whole thing on Kylie’s subscription-based website if you’re the type who’s willing to pay money to watch two wealthy teenagers melt marshmallows on top of sweet potatoes. We’re not here to judge.

So what does Kylie’s old lady taste in food have to do with Blac Chyna?

Well, it seems Blac’s been hosting a web series called – you guessed it! – Cooking With Chyna for several months.

Naturally, she wasn’t happy to find out that Kylie had hijacked her idea, and she made her feelings known on Instagram.

Just minutes after Kylie debuted her instructional ode to the culinary arts, Blac posted a message reading simply, “Bitch bye Follow @CookingWithChyna #InfatuatedWithChy”

Well, it looks like it’s on again.

Obviously, Blac didn’t come up with the idea of cooking shows, but it doesn’t take much to get these two going.

Of course, if Blac can make good on her promise to help Rob lose weight, we’re sure Kylie would happily cede the title of top chef.

Jenelle Evans: Accused of Hijacking Business Idea For Toddler Urinals!

Another day, another potential legal problem for Jenelle Evans of Teen Mom 2 fame … though this one is bizarre even by her standards.

Rather than custody fights, drug use, domestic violence or beating the ever-loving crap out of Brittany Truett, her latest issue is this:

The Carolina Hurricane plans to release a mini-urinal made for toddlers, but is being put on blast for stealing the idea from the Internet.

You cannot make this stuff up.

Jenelle Evans recently announced the March 21 launch of Little Kaiser, a new urinal designed specifically for boys who are potty training.

Kaiser is the name of her second child with former fiance Nathan Griffith (whose list of legal issues is nearly on par with that of his ex).

“#LittleKaiser boys need something different !!!” Evans told her 1.2 million Twitter followers. “New project we have been working on!!!”

Twitter was not too impressed.

Fans told the mom to Jace, 6, and Kaiser, 19 months, that her entrepreneurial vision was strikingly similar to something called “LiL Marc.”

Evans’ manager, Johnny Donovan, strongly denied to Us claims she’s ripping off “LiL Marc,” a toddler urinal that debuted years ago.

“We aren’t stealing it,” Donovan responded. “There [sic] company went to s–t and reached out to us for us to rebrand it learn your facts..”

Eloquent, Johnny. Eloquent.

For their part, executives at “LiL Marc” (which apparently exists) deny any relationship with the MTV star, and say they are not rebranding.

In fact, the company fired back in a statement, making it clear that the use of their “name or photos are unauthorized and a violation.”

So … someone’s not telling the truth.

It’s not clear if Jenelle knowingly copied an existing product, but she might want to invest in a more literate manager if nothing else.

We can’t speak for anyone at LiL Marc, but it sure sounds to us like (wait … wait for it …) they’re pretty PISSED OFF about the situation.

Boo. We’ll show ourselves out.

Evans’ camp is talking a good game, but she deleted the original tweet, so Lil Kaiser’s future may have just been flushed down the toilet.

Or urinal as it were. Sorry again. We just couldn’t resist some quality STAND UP comedy. You know, because you stand up at a urinal?

Okay we’re done for real.

Young Girl Has No Idea How to Hang Up a Landline

Kids these days, right?!?

They don"t appreciate that the older generations used to work walk 10 miles per day, uphill, in multiple feet of show, every single day to school.

Okay, that may be an exaggeration. That may not be entirely true.

But it most decidedly is true that we really aren"t that far removed from an age in which no one used a cell phone. Really. It"s true!

Fewer than 20 years ago, the concept of apps and text messages and Candy Crush and camera phones were all unheard of. We just went around using landlines.

Yes, landlines. These are phones that you can"t just take anywhere you go. They require a jack into which you plug in and they are still found in nearly every hotel room around the world.

Much to the consternation of the young woman featured in this video.

Her name is Layla and she’s handed the receiver in this footage and asked to simply hang it up.

Wait… to do what? Come again? What does that even mean?!?

"How do you do that?" Layla asks her father, in all seriousness, looking around, confused, baffled, unsure what this ancient piece of technology in her hand is used for.

Fortunately, Layla"s mom comes over and rescues her daughter just in time.

But the damage has already been done. Our faith in the younger generation of humanity has already been destroyed. This just makes us… sad.

Kids these days, huh?!? We expect them to have concerns over Maxi Pads… but regular phones?!?

Shake your head over Layla"s utter bewilderment below:

New Yorkers Have No Idea Who Chris Pratt Is

Chris Pratt starred on Parks and Recreation for seven years.

He then went on to anchor two of the highest-grossing movies of the last decade, Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World. There"s talk he may take over for Harrison Ford in an upcoming Hans Solo film.

And yet… many people in New York City have no idea who he is.

In this hilarious clip from Billy on the Street, comedian Billy Eichner sprints around and quizzes pedestrians about the identity of the man along his side.

He even offers some $ 1 if they can simply say his name.

But very few can do so. Sorry, Chris. You apparently have a long way to go until you can be identified, yet alone objectified by Hollywood.

Did J.K. Rowling Steal The Idea For Harry Potter? See What Two Writers Think Of Similarities To Their Work!

Harry Potter is one of the most inspired, imaginative works of literature of the past hundred years.

Only, is it the most original??

Certain similarities to other works of fiction that predate J.K. Rowling‘s tales of witchcraft and wizardry have led some fans to cry plagiarism!

Related: J.K. Rowling Says We’re All Pronouncing He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named’s Name Wrong!

For instance, the 1986 horror film Troll is known mostly for its unrelated sequel Troll 2, AKA the “Best Worst Movie” ever made.

But did you know it also has a young boy hero named Harry Potter? Who learns to do magic spells??

Screenwriter Ed Naha was asked recently about the similarities to his lead character — who predates the first Harry Potter book by over a decade — and he said:

“I think the only thing similar, aside from their names, is that they were both kids who spoke English. Also, they both walk upright.”

He doesn’t think J.K. took anything from his movie? Not really! He added:

“If Rowling did recall the name with affection and decided to use it, so what? In both novels and scripts, I’ve used names culled from comic books and movies I was fond of, as are most of my pseudonyms.”

This is not dissimilar to statements made by author Neil Gaiman.

His character Tim Hunter in the DC Comics series The Books Of Magic was also a 12-year-old boy with glasses who gets a pet owl and learns to become a powerful sorcerer.

When he was asked shortly after Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone was first published, he revealed:

“I was tracked down by a Scotsman journalist who had noticed the similarities between my Tim Hunter character and Harry Potter, and wanted a story. And I think I rather disappointed him by explaining that, no, I certainly *didn’t* believe that Rowling had ripped off Books of Magic, that I doubted she’d read it and that it wouldn’t matter if she had: I wasn’t the first writer to create a young magician with potential, nor was Rowling the first to send one to school. It’s not the ideas, it’s what you do with them that matters.”

Well, there ya go.

If even the authors don’t feel at all like Rowling ripped them off, we don’t see why fans should feel that way!

What do YOU think??
