Jackson Odell: Cause of Death Revealed
We have an update on the tragic passing of Jackson Odell.
The actor, best known for his role on The Goldbergs when he died suddenly this summer, was found dead at a sober living facility in the San Fernando Valley in mid-June.
He was only 20 years old at the time.
Odell portrayed Ari on the aforementioned ABC sitcom, but he also appeared on Nickelodeon’s iCarly and made stopped by for an episode of mega hit Modern Family.
And we now know how he died:
According to E! News, The Blast and Entertainment Tonight, the 20-year-old passed away of an accidental drug overdose.
The coroner reportedly ruled that Odell’s cause of death was “acute heroin and cocaine toxicity” and the manner of death was deemed “accidental.”
This confirms what many outlets had reported in the days following Odell’s passing.
Back in June, a public information officer told Entertainment Tonight that Odell was found unresponsive.
His family later released a statement on Twitter that confirmed this awful news.
It read as follows:
The Odell family has lost our beloved son and brother, Jackson Odell, on Friday.
He will always be a shining light and a brilliant, loving and talented soul. He had so much more to share. Our family will always carry that truth forward.
Our wish is that the rest of the world who knew him does as well.
We are now going to try to make sense of our immeasurable loss privately. We will not be making any more statements.
Odell was laid to rest in a private funeral service on June 13.
He was mourned by many around Hollywood, perhaps most notably by Modern Family actress Ariel Winter, who had known Jackson for years.
“Devastated to hear about the passing of Jackson Odell,” she wrote in response to his death, adding:
“I knew Jackson since we were 12 years old, and he even appeared in an episode of Modern Family. We didn’t talk much as we entered our high school years, but I’m glad I got to spend time with him before his end.
“Very hard for me to hear about anyone passing away, but someone so young really saddens me. Sending love to his family and friends.”
Along with his acting roles, Odell was also a singer-songwriter who contributed numerous original songs to the soundtrack for the 2018 movie Forever My Girl.
We continue to send our condolences to his friends, family members and loved ones.

Paris Jackson Apologizes for Harper"s Bazaar Cover Controversy
Paris Jackson recently confirmed her sexuality, and drew accusations of hypocrisy for appearing on a magazine cover in Singapore, where being gay is criminalized.
Paris was called out by members of her own community for appearing to endorse a country whose laws regard her very existence as a crime.
Others rose to Paris’ defense, and she issued an apology.
After Gay Star News called out Paris on what they saw as a betrayal of the LGBTQ+ community by one of its own, Paris was quick to apologize.
“i didn’t know,” Paris tweeted, quoting the article. “i am sorry.”
“i was grateful for the opportunity,” Paris added, explaining why she had done the cover photo to begin with.
She is a young model. Despite her fame, she is 20 years old, and being on the cover of a magazine is still a big deal.
“But,” she said. “i’ll delete the post now.”
“i don’t want to be hypocritical or hurt anyone,” Paris continued on Twitter.
Of course she doesn’t! She’s a good person who always lends her voice to good causes and to marginalized communities.
“And my support for my fellow LGBTQ+ community comes first,” Paris affirmed. “Before my love for fashion and gratitude for this opportunity.”
It’s good that she has her priorities in order.
Paris finished that tweet with: “Again, i’m sorry.”
Paris had more thoughts, and it’s god that she shared them — because this is thought-provoking.
“I would like to add though,” Paris tweets. “That someone that is openly a part of the community being on the cover in a country against the community, should be celebrated.”
Representation is important, and a major first step towards acceptance.
Paris asks: “isn’t that a step forward?”
“Again,” Paris reiterates. “I am deeply sorry.”
Paris isn’t getting defensive, but she’s explaining why she took the gig and questioning some of the criticism, which is extremely fair.
“I didn’t mean to be hypocritical or hurt anyone,” Paris makes clear.
In a follow-up tweet, she does have one other line.
“Also,” Paris writes. “That article is ridiculously mean.”
That happens sometimes — some celebrities are nasty people. But is that sort of meanness deserved in Paris’ case?
Paris was on the cover of a magazine. If she were in an ad hyping up tourism for Singapore — or Dubai or, for some reason, Chechnya, this criticism would make a lot more sense.
But a magazine cover is not an endorsement of a country.
And representation can be so important. Paris heard supportive messages from countless fans, including the LGBTQ+ community and folks from Singapore.
When your own country’s laws are against you, seeing someone like you on a magazine cover can give you a spark of hope. Hope can mean survival.
It’s hard to see how Paris was doing a bad thing, there.

David Rothenberg: "Burn Boy," Considered a Son to Michael Jackson, Dies at 42
Michael Jackson was the closest thing to a father figure that Dave Dave, who was born David Rothenberg, ever had. Dave even spoke at MJ’s funeral.
Dave, who survived a horrific attack decades ago and was an inspiration to others, has passed away.
Once known as “burn boy” for the injuries that covered 90% of his body, Dave was 42 years old.
“Dave died of heat exhaustion on the 15th of July,” Dave’s friend Justin revealed on Instagram.
Justin, who goes by Lil’ Eric and has worked with celebrities like Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber, shared this grim news.
“Our friendship started with a hug,” Justin tells RadarOnline. “And that his how he started every friendship.”
“He got that from his father figure, Michael Jackson,” Justin explains.
“Michael taught him to love unconditionally,” Justin says. “And he did.”
Justin took to Instagram to explain how he made this tragic discovery.
“Last night, I called my good friend Dave,” Justin writes. “And his mother picked up the phone and we talked.”
There is no good way to find out that your friend has died.
“It wasn’t what I expected or who I expected,” Justin admits. “But she told me that Dave had passed away on July 15th.”
This is only now going public.
“I am going to be talking to her today,” Justin continued on Instagram. “She was very tired last night.”
“And there will be a funeral/memorial I will be attending sometime in the near future,” Justin wrote at the time.
“I know dave had a lot of people who loved him,” Justin says. “And knows of his story from the early 80s.”
In 1983, David’s father doused him in kerosene and set him on fire. The burns covered 90% of his body.
Michael Jackson was a friend and a father figure to Dave, who changed his name to Dave Dave after surviving the tragic ordeal.
Justin acknowledges that he and Dave were different people.
“The one thing that we had in common was we didn’t have many friends,” Justin says. “People that we could trust and he knew that and felt that about me and I knew that about him.”
“He talked to my mother several times on the phone,” Justin shares. “And was a very close friend of mine.”
This is just heartbreaking.
Justin writes: “He was helping me with promotion with my career and other things as we was preparing for his own music and working together.”
“I am deeply saddened today,” Justin writes. “And my friend will be missed by many I’m sure.”
To compound the tragedy, it’s been noted that Dave’s burn injuries make him extra vulnerable to heat exhaustion.
In other words, one might argue that he died from the injuries he received back in 1983.
“He was loved by many,” Justin writes to his followers before addressing his late friend. “And I thank you for being apart of my life and being my friend Dave !!!!”
“RIP brother,” Justin concludes.
Justin also shared a couple of photos from Dave Dave’s memorial.
“My amazing friend,” Justin writes on Instagram. “It was great getting together to meet everyone today.”
“Your memorial was beautiful,” Justin shares. “Your mother has given me many hugs.”
We are sure that he was a tremendous comfort to her.
“As I got to meet your other friends your ‘energy’ was beautiful,” Justin shares in reference to this image.
“I am posting this with your mother and your uncle and Marna in your mother’s house,” Justin shares.
He tagged the late Michael Jackson in the photo. Dave had spoken at Michael Jackson’s funeral.
“I thank everyone who loved my friend,” Justin writes. “He was amazing and touched so many lives!!!!! Including mine.”
“Thank you,” Justin concludes. “Always in my heart. My brother I love you”

Marjorie Jackson: Josiah Duggar"s Ex Shocks Fans With Scandalous Pics!
Back in June, Josiah Duggar married Lauren Swanson in the sort of massively-attended wedding his family has become known for.
In many ways, it was the typical Duggar nuptial event.
But there were several important differences.
For one thing, Josiah and Lauren’s wedding was even more well-documented than the usual Duggar wedding, with TLC crafting the big day into a Counting On season premiere event that ran for longer than two hours.
On top of that, Josiah’s not your typical Duggar.
He’s often regarded as the family’s resident rebel, and that’s especially apparent in his love life.
You see, unlike his other married siblings, Lauren is not Josiah’s first love interest.
If you’re a longtime Duggar aficionado, you might remember Marjorie Jackson from Josiah Duggar’s first courtship.

Now that may not seem very scandalous — and it’s not — but it would certainly be enough to shock the Duggar clan.

Marjorie doubled-down on her scantily clad attire with the above photo of herself in Arches National Park.

Yes, folks were less shocked by Marjorie’s horrendous pun than by her exposed calves.
After all, that sort of thing is a major violation of the Duggar dress code.
All this willfulness has left fans wondering — was Marjorie 86’ed because she refused to comply with the rules of Josiah’s family?
Or is she celebrating the fact that with Josiah off the market, her connection to reality TV’s most conservative clan is well and truly severed?

Paris Jackson: Headed to Rehab After Demi Lovato Overdose?!
Last week, Demi Lovato was hospitalized after an overdose. This came just weeks after she admitted to relapsing after six years of sobriety.
This was reportedly a huge wake-up call to Paris Jackson, whose behavior has apparently been a source of concern for those who love her.
Is Paris planning on checking into rehab before something like this happens to her?
According to RadarOnline’s report, Demi’s overdose shocked Paris Jackson into questioning her habits.
“Demi almost died,” a source tells RadarOnline. “And that was a big trigger for Paris to get healthy.”
Paris is very much into natural, healthy eating, but this insider alleges that she may have a lingering problem with certain substances.
“She was concerned about Demi” after Demi admitted to relapsing after having remained sober for so long, the insider says.
Paris was worried then, the source describes, “and in shock when she heard the news” that Demi was in the hospital.
Paris was troubled as a teenager — which is more than understandable after having lost her father at the tender age of 11.
She was hospitalized after a suicide attempt in her early teens, and had to enter rehab just a couple of years later.
According to the source, Paris sees Demi’s incident as a reminder of what could happen to her.
“She feels her problem could get bigger,” the insider claims.
Paris reportedly worries that her issues could worsen “if not dealt with appropriately.”
Just a month ago, Paris was mourning the death of her grandfather.
“Paris has refused to talk to her family,” in the aftermath of his passing, the source claims.
“She was embarrassed and saddened,” the insider reports. “That more wasn’t done for her grandfather when he died.”
She was with him towards the end, holding his hand in the hospital bed.
The source says that Paris’ frustration with her family mounted “and she had enough.”
One report claims that Paris appeared to be both high on marijuana and perhaps even intoxicated when she picked up some items from a Calabasas compound.
“She was stumbling a bit and clearly high or drunk,” the insider claimed.
That could be worrisome, if true. Though as those who have lost family members can tell you, not uncommon in the weeks following a sudden family death.
