Jill Duggar: Accused of Racism for THIS Video of Her Baby!

Jill Duggar is not going to make mom of the year, but is she also racist?

A number of fans have accused her of as much — or at least wondered if she might be — after she shared a video and made some odd and perhaps culturally insensitive remarks.

Check out the video below and decide for yourself.

Samuel dillard in his high chair

In the captions of the video that you can see below, Jill Duggar writes:

"Do we have a future Bollywood star in the family?!"

The video shows baby Samuel Dillard dancing to Bollywood music that is softly playing in the background.

And by dancing, we mean that he"s wiggling back and forth. He"s a baby, folks.

She is feeding him curry during the process, and writes:

"In this video, you can tell Samuel is enjoying his Indian food and music!"

Samuel dillard eats curry

The comments have since been flooded with debates about Derick"s homophobia and transphobia and about accusations that the two neglect and/or abuse their children.

But before that upsetting discussion, fans discussed whether or not this specific video and the comments that Jill made were racist.

"Sounds pretty racist to me."

That line doesn"t necessarily lay out an argument so much as state an opinion, but that"s what comments are for, we guess.

Another commenter mentions that India is a "multi-ethnic, multi-religious, culturally rich country that is more than just Bollywood."

Imagine if someone in Uzbekistan wore a cowboy hat and ate, say, a Chicago style hotdog with all of those weird toppings as an "American food night." At the very least, that"s not … super accurate.

"It’s not racist. The more you eat while your baby is in utero, the stronger possibility that your kid will enjoy spicy foods when older."

That is not a claim that we can confirm. It also seems to be a comment drifting away from the topic at hand — not all curry is spicy, folks.

Jill duggar hiding a bump

There are a number of misconceptions about racism floating around out there, and a big one is that being racist automatically means insulting another race or ethnicity.

Racism is complicated in a number of ways, and it"s not fun to talk about.

But there are absolutely cases of racist statements where the speaker felt like they were giving a "compliment."

A white man who praises the qualities that he believes that East Asian women have as potential girlfriends and wives is not really complimenting them, he is objectifying and fetishizing Asian women based upon their race.

That is absolutely racism.

And if you"ve ever seen some dude dress in a sombrero and fake mustache to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, he might be totally well-meaning, but yeah, that"s racist.

Jill duggar walks for chick fil a

So … is Jill Duggar being racist, here? We"re sure that she doesn"t intend to, but, as we mentioned, racism is not always about intentions.

As the commenters note, boiling down "India" to just Bollywood and curry is … inaccurate, at the very least.

But you don"t exactly give a comprehensive lesson on geography and culture to a baby. Because, you know, it"s a baby.

Also, as fans are very well aware, Jill may not know that much about India and its culture.

She wasn"t allowed to watch worldly television or movies as a child. If she had, she might have gotten ideas about freedom and making her own choices, and Jim Bob can"t have that in his household.

Has she ever actually watched a Bollywood movie?

More to the point, does she know enough about India to realize that there"s more to the country than a series of stereotypes?

Derick dillard with jill

Is Jill"s comment culturally insensitive? Probably. But it"s mostly just a cute video, as you are about to see.

And at least she isn"t endangering her children this time.

Some even wonder if Jill may have deliberately stirred up this controversy in order to gain more attention for her video.

(Because yes, you had to jump through a series of links in order to access the video — she and Derick have to make money some way without begging fans for donations, we suppose)

Others don"t think that Jill is that devious.

Watch the video for yourself and decide what you make of it.

Camille Cosby Blames Husband"s Guilty Verdict on "Mob Justice," Racism

Camille Cosby is standing by her man.

No matter how many women he almost definitely raped.

One of those women is named Andrea Constand, and Bill Cosby was found guilty on three counts of aggravated sexual assault against her late last month.

He faces a decade in prison as a result of the verdict.

The outcome came about 10 months after Cosby’s original trial ended with a deadlocked jury, amid numerous other allegations of sexual assault against Cosby.

Overall, approximately 60 women have accused the comedian of drugging them and taking advantage of them.

But Camille Cosby isn’t having it.

She has released a stunning, lengthy statement that defends her husband and blames a combination of racism and media biased for his guilty verdict.

“‘We the people’ are the first three words of our nation’s Constitution, but who were those people in 1787?” began Cosby in her three-page statement, which was released Thursday morning by spokesman Andrew Wyatt.

To what is Camille referring here?

The color of the skin of our Founding Fathers and how African-Americans have essentially not been giving a fair deal ever since this nation was founded.

Continues the 74-year old:

“Now enters an American citizen, Bill Cosby.

“The overall media, with their frenzied, relentless demonization of him and unquestioning acceptance of accusers’ allegations without any attendant proof, have superseded the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments, which guarantee due process and equal protection, and thereby eliminated the possibility of a fair trial and unbiased jury.”

Yeah.

Wow, huh? There’s a lot to take in there.

“Once again, an innocent person has been found guilty based on an unthinking, unquestioning, unconstitutional frenzy propagated by the media and allowed to play out in a supposed court of law,” she also says.

“Bill Cosby was labelled as guilty because the media and accusers said so… period. And the media ensured the dissemination of that propaganda by establishing barricades preventing the dissemination of the truth in violation of the protections of the First Amendment.

“Are the media now the people’s judges and juries?”

No, of course.

In this case, an actual judge and actual jury decided Bill Cosby’s fate.

Camille is arguing, however, that their decision-making was influenced by the many articles written over the past several months regarding accusations against her husband.

And she doesn’t believe any of the alleged victims.

“Since when are all accusers truthful?” Camille asks, referencing Constand and adding:

“I firmly believe her recent testimony during trial was perjured; as was shown at trial, it was unsupported by any evidence and riddled with innumerable, dishonest contradictions.”

In her statement, Camille likened her husband to martyred Emmett Till and other black men falsely accused of rape by white women:

“These are just two of many tragic instances of our justice system utterly and routinely failing to protect African Americans falsely accused in so-called courts of law and the entirely unfair court of public opinion.”

She wants to see a “criminal investigation” opened into the actions of the “district attorney and his cohorts,” who she labels as exploitive and corrupt.

“Someday the truth will prevail,” concluded Camille. “It always does.”

Constand’s lawyer, Dolores Troiani, issued a brief response Thursday morning.

She said the truth has already prevailed and, smartly, left it at that:

“Twelve honorable people – a jury of Cosby’s peers – have spoken. There is nothing more that needs to be said.”

Bill Cosby has said nothing publicly since he was convicted on April 26.

He will be sentenced at some point in the next two to three months.

Kim Zolciak: I Take It Back! Racism DOES Exist!

Kim Zolciak would like to make something clear:

Racism actually is still a problem in the world.

She’s very sorry for ever insinuating otherwise.

Yes, Zolciak had to go out of her way on Thursday morning to make this point known.

That’s because Kim got herself into scalding hot water on Sunday night during part three of The Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion special.

After the reunion itself concluded, Kim, her husband Kroy Biermann, Andy Cohen and several others were in the bathroom for a candid conversation.

And this is what we heard Zolciak say:

“This whole racism thing in this day and age is bullsh-t. Everyone one of those motherf-ckers on that couch owes this world a f-ckin’ apology for this racism sh-t.

“They already tried to claim that sh-t long ago… nobody really bought into it because social media wasn’t there and racism wasn’t all that f-cking real. And you know it.”

Ummm…. wow, huh?

Earlier this year, Zolciak WENT OFF on NeNe Leakes, screaming online about how her arch rival has a roach-infested home, which many interpreted as a rather racist remark.

Kim then found herself under pretty constant attack during the reunion.

Chalk up her comments later to frustration or extreme ignorance, but at least she has now made an effort to walk them back.

“During the last RHOA Reunion episode, I made a comment that confused and offended people. I sincerely apologize,” she said today through her publicist, blaming producers a bit by adding:

“Edited out of context, I understand why my remark angered people.”

Zolciak then continued at length.

This is what she had to say about the topic:

Racism is a sad reality in the United States. It has been prevalent throughout our country’s history. Let me be very clear, I do NOT support, tolerate or put up with any form of racism, hate or other discrimination.

My love for ALL people runs deep—I am open to all and always have been.

I was heartbroken when I watched the last few minutes of the episode and saw how my words were taken out of context.

My comment that seemingly ‘racism didn’t exist 10 years ago’ was made as part of a larger, emotional 45-minute conversation about how, sadly, social media has become a hub for hate.

Immediately following my confusing comment, I also said that ‘it’s not as real as it is now’ referring to the power of social media.

But those remarks didn’t make the show.

I believe that social media has made a centuries-old issue more real. Before social media, the public simply observed the news.

Now, the public actively participates and has an opportunity to take action – in real time.

Before we go any further, just a note that you can watch The Real Housewives of Atlanta online below in order to actually hear what Kim said on air:

Finally, in conclusion, Zolciak says the following:

But this is a double edged sword. Now, when false accusations are made, they are amplified by online platforms regardless of their merit. This wasn’t the case 10 years ago when I started on RHOA.

I truly pray that the people wishing horrible things on others, and on me, channel that energy into something positive. Our world would be a much better place if you do.

I am committed to making this world a better place to live. I will continue to learn from, and be open to, ALL people.

But she won’t be doing it via this program, that is, because Zolciak says she’s finished.

It’s probably for the best, too.

She’s done enough damage to her reputation over the past few weeks and would likely benefit from stepping back from the spotlight for a bit.

First, however, we must ask:

Do you want to respond to these accusations of homophobia, Kim?

Kim Zolciak: Accused of Homophobia AND Racism!

As previously reported, Kim Zolciak has said goodbye to The Real Housewives of Atlanta.

But a couple of people close to the reality star have now spoken up and made it clear:

They wish they could say good riddance to Kim Zolciak!

First, Tracy Young – a DJ who used to make love to Zolciak – referred to her ex-girlfriend as a “liar” and as “homophobic” after their romance was referenced by Kandi Burruss, who alleged the two had an intimate relationship during a vacation to the Bahamas.

Zolciak denied this relationship ever took place.

And Young has roasted her for it.

“She’s a liar, because she denied what went on and the reunion brought it all back up,” Young told Page Six TV, adding:

“Kim and I were in a relationship for about eight months. She said she wanted to marry me. She asked me to have a baby with her.”

We reported on Zolciak and Young being an item way back in March of 2010, before Kim married husband Kroy of course.

Zolciak and Young met when the latter was remixing the TV reality star’s single “Tardy for the Party” in 2009.

(And she still wanted to date Kim? Fascinating!)

On a previous episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Zolciak opened up to NeNe Leakes about her relationship with Young, seeming to confirm it happened.

“Love has no gender,” she said. “I had a connection with her.”

She later joked:

“I’ve been chasing dick since I came out of the womb, so NeNe’s not believing the fact that I went to the other side for a minute.”

Young didn’t hold back her opinion on Twitter yesterday, either.

“She’s homophobic!” Tracy screamed to anyone who would listen on social media.

homphobia tweet

Zolciak has said the relationship was a “one-time deal” and wrote on her blog:

“I never thought I would come to see her as a liar, and a fame obsessed coat tail rider … That chapter of my life is done with!”

Elsewhere, meanwhile, Marlo Hampton tells TMZ that Zolciak is also racist for saying Leakes lives in a “roach nest.”

This is a reference to a rather epic and hilarious argument between the enemies on Twitter a few weeks ago.

Following Sunday night’s reunion, which you can watch below, Hampton explains that, in the black community, roaches are synonymous with poverty.

Therefore, Kim’s comment is an implication you’re living in the projects, which certainly isn’t the case for NeNe, who resides in gorgeous Atlanta-area home.

Finally, to close this update on all things Kim Zolciak, Us Weekly confirms that production has been stopped on her spinoff, Don’t Be Tardy.

She’s apparently VERY upset over the way she was ganged up on during the aforementioned reunion.

“Kim and her team have halted all production for Don’t Be Tardy while her lawyers have been working around the clock to investigate and deal with the final episode of the Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion,” a source says.

A second insider adds:

“Kim has pulled the plug on filming. She’s very upset about the entire situation.”

We’re not sure what the reunion has to do with Don’t Be Tardy, except that both shows air on Bravo.

Might Zolciak be so upset that she’s thinking of leaving the network entirely and/or filing a lawsuit of some kind?

Stay tuned!

The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 10 Episode 21 Recap: Kim Zolciak Claims Racism "Wasn"t Real" and Is Magnified by Social Media

Kim Zolciak took her final stand against her enemies on The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 10 Episode 21, and we think it’s fair to say she won’t be missed.

From deplorable comments to even more deplorable comments, Kim went out by pretty much incinerating what little credibility she had left.

If you watch The Real Housewives of Atlanta online, you will already know that Kim has been going at it with most of the other housewives all season long.

However, most of the housewives took offense to Kim branding Leakes as “sick and disgusting” for living in a roach nest.

The housewives felt like this lapse in judgment was racist, and that Kim should own up to what she did wrong.

“You’re reaching. Reaching,” Zolciak-Biermann fired back when she realized her words did not land with the ladies. “Don’t try it. It has nothing to do with the projects or none of that s—. A roach is a roach.”

But the real drama was saved for when Kim when Kim held a private meeting after the show was over.

However, Andy was not ready to admit defeat and urged Kim to make her comments heard.

“That bitch knows I’m not racist. NeNe knows I’m not racist,” Zolciak-Biermann said to Cohen.

“You know why you have not found another white woman to [join the cast]? Because nobody is dumb enough to do that!”

“Put yourself in my shoes — five African-American women — just hammered! I couldn’t even speak, my mind’s a f—— whirlwind!”

Kim then went a step too far by complaining that racism was only something being made bigger by social media.

“This whole racism thing in this day in age is b——. Everyone of those m———— on that couch owe this world a f—— apology for this racism s—,” she said.

“They already tried to claim that s— long ago. Nobody bought into it then because the social media wasn’t there and racism wasn’t f—— all that real. You know it.”

We wish we were kidding about what she said, but she drew a line and took a high jump over it.

It makes sense now that Kim is off the show because she never wanted to admit she was wrong, and the other housewives all seemed to echo Leakes’ sentiments about her.

“How much can a person take?” Kim asked Cohen in the show’s final moments.

“There wasn’t even one positive question for me. I was hammered! … There wasn’t a positive question. I have a very success marriage, I have beautiful children, there was nothing positive.”

But Andy knew Kim had made her bed, and he or the producers were not to blame for the way she acted.

“There was nothing positive, unfortunately, in your story from the season,” he told her. “It was all combative, it was. Because your whole time on the show as combative, it was.”

Yeah, we think it’s doubtful that Kim will ever appear on the series again, but she still has Don’t Be Tardy, and we’re not sure how that’s going to pan out.

Okay, what did you think of the final episode of the season? Did Kim go too far? Should she return to reality TV?
