Logan Brown and Michelle Petty: Eldest Sister Wives Son Engaged to Long-Time Girlfriend!

Kody Brown may be at risk of losing all four of his wives, but creepiness isn’t always passed down to your children.

Logan Brown, the eldest son of the Sister Wives family, has been in a relationship with Michelle Petty for years

Now those two are taking things to the next level with a long-anticipated engagement!

Sister Wives is controversial for good reason.

Now, relationships involving multiple consenting partners isn’t a good reason for controversy.

Male-centered relationships where it’s just one man with multiple wives who have only one husband … that’s a little different.

And Kody Brown comes across as a creep.

Sister Wives from the outset was supposed to help normalize polygamy in the eyes of viewers.

There’s a decent change that it’s backfired, and the dislike that many viewers feel for Kody Brown may have reflected poorly upon people in healthy polyamorous relationships.

But nobody dislikes the kids on Sister Wives.

They didn’t sign up for any part of that. They were just born. And they’re good kids.

Which is why everyone is so excited that Logan and Michelle are taking this next step.

Logan took to Instagram to share this wonderful news.

“I did a thing…the best thing I have ever done. #engaged.”

Michelle tweeted out this photo with an engagement ring emoji and the words:

“Promoting him to fiance!”

That’s such wonderful news!

Fans and viewers don’t have to follow Logan or Michelle on social media to be familiar with Michelle or the two of them as a couple.

Michelle has appeared on Sister Wives many times.

Fans are familiar with her and with their relationship.

Those who follow either of them on Instagram and Twitter know them even better.

(Also, can we just say that Logan is way more buff than most people would assume!)

Unlike some relationships that crop up involving the children of non-traditional reality show families, Logan doesn’t seem to just be jumping into an engagement before he’s ready.

(Looking at you, Duggars)

Logan and Michelle have been dating for about three years.

They’ve discussed the idea of an engagement in the past, but had previously stated that they were going to wait until they had both finished with college, at least.

Well, guess what — Logan finished his bachelor’s degree in May of this year, and Michelle had already wrapped up her college education.

So it was time.

Logan Brown told TLC about his engagement.

And apparently his initial plans for the proposal had a few hiccups.

“Unfortunately nothing in my elaborate plan had successfully gone through.”

That is so often how things work out.

“So in desperation I found the prettiest view of the Colorado River, Congress Bridge. We walked out to the middle of the bridge and then I popped the question!”

Logan’s mother, Janelle Brown, tweeted her approval after Logan and Michelle made their engagement public.

“We are thrilled!”

We should note — because surely some people are wondering — that Logan does not plan to practice polygamy as his parents do.

In fact, all of the Brown family’s adult children are in agreement on that.

Anita Pallenberg Dies; Actress & Longtime Partner of Keith Richards Was 73

Anita Pallenberg – actress, model, and longtime partner of legendary Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards – has passed away at 73.

Her death was announced Tuesday evening by lifelong friend Stella Schnabel.

No cause of death was stated.

Schnabel paid tribute to Pallenberg in a heartfelt Instagram post:

“I have never met a woman quite like you Anita. I don’t think there is anybody in this universe like you. No one has ever understood me so well.”

“You showed about life and myself and how to grow and become and exist with it all. I was a little girl thinking I was big but I became a woman through knowing you.”

“The greatest woman I have ever known. Thank you for the most important lessons – because they are ever changing and definitive. Like you. We are all singing for you, how you liked it. Go in peace my Roman mother, you will always be in my heart.”

Pallenberg found early success as a model and actress (she appeared alongside Mick Jagger in the 1970 cult classic Performance), but it was her personal and artistic involvement with the Rolling Stones for which she’s best remembered.

After sneaking backstage at a Stones concert in 1965, Pallenberg kicked off a tumultuous romance with band co-founder Brian Jones.

When she and Jones parted ways, Pallenberg became involved with Richards, beginning a romance that last for 22 years and yield three children.

During her time with Richards, Pallenberg enjoyed such creative influence amongst the Stones that some of the band’s best known recordings were remixed at her suggestion.

Pallenberg is credited as a background singer on the band’s 1968 classic “Sympathy For the Devil.”

Richards’ years with Pallenberg were among the most turbulent of his famously wild life.

In his 2002 memoir, Richards stated that he and Pallenberg endured a “descent into hell” together, each becoming addicted to heroin during their relationship.

“I like a high-spirited woman. And with Anita, you knew you were taking on a valkyrie — she who decides who dies in battle,” Richards wrote in the book.

Pallenberg is survived by Marlon and Angela, her two children with Richards.

The couple had another son, Tara, who died from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome in 1976.

Gwen Ifill Dies; Longtime PBS Journalist Was 61

Gwen Ifill, the longtime news anchor on PBS, has died after a battle with cancer, the network confirmed in a sad statement.

The journalist was 61 years old.

The WETA president and CEO, Sharon Percy Rockefeller, wrote in an email to staff at the public TV station Monday:

“I am very sad to tell you that our dear friend and beloved colleague Gwen Ifill passed away today in hospice care in Washington.”

“I spent an hour with her this morning and she was resting comfortably, surrounded by loving family and friends…”

“Earlier today, I conveyed to Gwen the devoted love and affection of all of us at WETA/NewsHour.”

“Let us hold Gwen and her family even closer now in our hearts and prayers.”

A mainstay at the network on PBS’ NewsHour and Washington Week, Ifill had been absent from election coverage last week.

Not surprisingly, her ongoing health issues were the reason; Gwen leave of absence back in May to get medical treatment.

PBS NewsHour executive producer Sara Just said:

“Gwen was a standard bearer for courage, fairness and integrity in an industry going through seismic change.”

“She was a mentor to so many across the industry and her professionalism was respected across the political spectrum.”

“She was a journalist’s journalist and set an example for all around her. So many people in the audience felt that they knew and adored her.”

Just continued her statement mourning the loss of the journalist:

“She had a tremendous combination of warmth and authority.”

“She was stopped on the street routinely by people who just wanted to give her a hug and considered her a friend after years of seeing her on TV.”

“We will forever miss her terribly.”

In honor of her life’s work, Ifill was set to receive the 2016 John Chancellor Award from Columbia University this Wednesday.

A spokesperson for the school did not immediately have a comment, but will likely issue one in the wake of her passing soon.

Ifill, who was born in New York, graduated from Simmons College in 1977, before beginning her career at the Boston Herald-American.

She held reporting positions at The Washington Post, The New York Times and NBC before joining PBS back in 1999.

Gwen moderated the 2004 vice-presidential debate between Dick Cheney and John Edwards and the 2008 vice-presidential debate.

That showdown between Joe Biden and Sarah Palin became one of the most watched and talked-about debates in history.

She also moderated a Democratic primary debate between Sen. Bernie Sanders and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton last year.

Gwen will be pissed.
