Sally Field Pays Heartfelt Tribute to Burt Reynolds
Hollywood has lost a legend.
And Sally Field has lost a true love.
As previously reported, Burt Reynolds died on Thursday of a heart attack, passing away at his home in Jupiter, Florida of a heart attack.
The legendary actor was 82 years old.
Upon learning of his death, a number of entertainment industry heavyweights have expressed their sympathy and their sorrow (scroll down), but one name stands out from all the rest right now.
Sally Field met Reyonds on the set of the 1977 smash hit comedy, Smokey and the Bandit.
The actress and the actor would date for five years… while also co-starring in several more films, including Smokey and the Bandit II, The End and Hooper.
Although they split for good in 1982, Reynolds recounted the romance over 30 years later in an interview with Vanity Fair, referring to Field as “the love of my life.”
And it’s clear now that Reyonds was never far from the two-time Oscar winner’s heart, either.
“There are times in your life that are so indelible, they never fade away,” Field said in a statement this afternoon, adding of Reynolds:
“They stay alive, even forty years later. My years with Burt never leave my mind. He will be in my history and my heart, for as long as I live. Rest, Buddy.”
Reynolds’ manager, Erik Kritzer, confirmed the passing of this big screen icon, while his niece, Nancy Lee Hess, said the following on Thursday:
“My uncle was not just a movie icon; he was a generous, passionate and sensitive man who was dedicated to his family, friends, fans and acting students.
“He has had health issues, however, this was totally unexpected. He was tough. Anyone who breaks their tailbone on a river and finishes the movie is tough. And that’s who he was.
“My uncle was looking forward to working with Quentin Tarantino (in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood) and the amazing cast that was assembled.”
In recent years, Reynolds used a cane while out in public. His last appearance in front of a big crowd took place at the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival.
In the wake of his passing, nearly everyone across Hollywood chimed in with a story about Reynolds or with a few thoughts about the highly-respected actor. To wit:
Arnold Schwarzenegger: Burt Reynolds was one of my heroes. He was a trailblazer. He showed the way to transition from being an athlete to being the highest paid actor, and he always inspired me. He also had a great sense of humor – check out his Tonight Show clips. My thoughts are with his family.
Reba McEntire: My good friend has started a new journey. Rest in my peace my friend. I’ll never forget the wonderful times we spent together.
Sylvester Stallone: A sad day, my friend BURT REYNOLDS Has passed away. I remember him back in 1979, he always reminded me that I should’ve cast him as Colonel Trautman in FIRST BLOOD , I said that’s impossible, because you’re too expensive and too famous, and probably tougher than Rambo ! He laughed , He had a great sense of humor and I enjoyed his company so much… RIP Buddy
Goldie Hawn: There is only One Burt Reynolds. One! I loved our time our laughs and fun. Now your angels will giggle at your silly jokes as they hold you lightly as you rest dear one.
Kevin Bacon: Im 19. I get a few lines in a movie. The megastar on set was really nice and cool to this punk actor(me) for no reason. The director called me before the movie came out to tell me I had hit the cutting room floor. But I never forgot that Star. Thanks Burt. RIP.
Paul Wesley: Burt Reynolds was one of the kindest and most generous people I have ever worked with. He took me under his wing when I was first starting out as an actor and offered friendship, advice and guidance. I’ll never forget how much that meant to me.
Michael Chiklis: I owe my career, at least in part, to the great Burt Reynolds. Heartbroken to learn of his passing. He was one of a kind. A fun loving, charismatic talent who did many good deeds quietly, without personal expectation but rather out of the kindness of his extraordinary heart. RIP.
May Burt Reynolds rest in peace.

Burt Reynolds Dies; Hollywood Icon Was 82
Sad news out of Hollywood today, as a bonafide screen legend is no longer with us.
Several media outlets are now reporting that Burt Reynolds died at his home in Florida on Thursday.
The actor was 82 years old.
Sources say Reynolds was surrounded by loved ones at the time of his passing.
His death was confirmed moments ago by his agent, Todd Eisner.
“No comment, just heartbreaking,” Eisner said in a press release.
Known for such iconic films as The Longest Yard, Smokey and the Bandit, Deliverance, and Boogie Nights, Reynolds amassed more than 200 film and television credits over the course of his 60-year career.
A committed craftsman to the very end, Reynolds was in the process of filming Quentin Tarantino’s forthcoming Once Upon a Time In Hollywood at the time of his death.
He recently wrapped filming on Defining Moments, which is set for release in December.
Though the commercial peak of Reynolds’ career came in the 1970s, when he starred in a string of blockbusters, he enjoyed a renaissance later in life.
It was his work in the latter half of his career – culminating in an Oscar nomination for Boogie Nights in 1998 – that earned him the lasting respect of the acting world.
Of course, any discussion of Reynolds’ career would be incomplete without acknowledging what might have been.
Among the jobs he famously turned down:
Han Solo in Star Wars, John McClane in Die Hard, R.P. McMurphy in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, and Garrett Breedlove in Terms of Endearment were some of the many roles Reynolds passed on at the peak of his career.
“I was interested in having a good time,” Reynolds wrote in his 2015 memoir, But Enough About Me.
“I didn’t open myself to new writers or risky parts because I wasn’t interested in challenging myself as an actor.
“As a result, I missed a lot of opportunities to show I could play serious roles. By the time I finally woke up and tried to get it right, nobody would give me a chance.”
But even without those now-iconic roles on his resume, the highlights of Reynolds’ career are staggeringly impressive.
The number one box office draw each year from 1978-1982, the Michigan native had four films in theaters at once in ’78.
Throughout the history of the film industry, only a handful of actors have enjoyed such popular success for so long as Burt Reynolds.
And today millions of fans are mourning the loss of a true film legend.

Burt Jenner SLAMMED On Instagram for Alleged Bad Parenting
Burt Jenner found himself in hot water on Instagram recently.
The oldest son of Caitlyn Jenner posted a picture of his 3-week-old son on the social media platform.
Usually posting a picture of your newborn baby would lead to a multitude of comments with people complimenting the baby.
Not in this case.
If you look at the Instagram picture, it appears that the baby isn’t all that safe.
Granted, the chances of him rolling off and falling were slim to none.
He was placed in the middle of the cushion, but it seems like the type of post that would divide fans.
You can never be too careful with your child and that appears to be why Jenner is being accused of bad parenting.
Jenner was quick to reply to the people who complained that Bodhi could fall.
“Yeah yeah, I know he could fall…now shut up and enjoy his snugglyness,” he wrote alongside the image.
“Not like my eyes went off him anyway.”
This seems like the type of thing someone would post to stay relevant on social media.
Something so that people wouldn’t for get them.
Might Kris Jenner have extended an olive branch and gave the 37-year-old some tips?
It wouldn’t be out of the question.
Kris is great at manipulating situations so that more people will talk about her and her family.
This seems like something that would come from the Kardashian kamp.
What do you think about all of this?

Kwuok’s death was confirmed this morning by his agent, who issued the following statement to the BBC:
“Beloved actor Burt Kwouk has sadly passed peacefully away. The family will be having a private funeral but there will be a memorial at a later date.”
Born in Manchester but raised in Shanghai, Kwuok was made a member of the Order of the British Empire in 2011.
He rose to fame in 1964, playing the loyal assistant to Sellers’ Inspector Closeau.

The last film in the series starred Roberto Benigni as Closeau’s offspring.
Though best known for his work as Cato, Kwuok racked up an astonishing 144 film and television credits over the course of his career.
Bond fans may remember him from his work in Goldfinger, You Only Live Twice, and the original Casino Royale.
Kwuok is also well-known to British TV viewers thanks to his recurring roles on Dr. Who and the beloved BBC comedy The Last of the Summer Wine.
Kwuok is survived by his wife of 55 years, Caroline, and his son, Christopher.

Burt Reynolds -- Loni Anderson Got Her Last Dime From Me
Z STAFF
Burt Reynolds has finally put his divorce to ex-wife Loni Anderson to bed … and it only took 22 years.
Loni filed court docs confirming Burt had paid her the remaining balance on their divorce settlement.
As we previously reported, Burt still owed Loni thousands. Their divorce was finalized in 1993, but Burt declared bankruptcy before he paid her the entire sum.
Loni took him to court last year and a Florida judge sided with her, ordering Burt to cough up the money owed with interest which totaled $ 154,520.
It was one of the longest and nastiest divorces in Hollywood history.
