Ellen DeGeneres and Pharrell Denounce Kim Burrell: Watch!
Just a few days ago, Ellen DeGeneres was unfamiliar with Kim Burrell.
Now, DeGeneres likely wishes that were still the case.
Burrell, a relatively unknown gospel singer, has made headlines of late for two reasons:
1. She sings a duet with Pharrell Williams on the soundtrack to Hidden Figures.
2. She was caught on tape making VERY homophobic remarks in church.
Burrell then tried to walk back these comments, but reiterated that she thinks gay people are committing major sins.
In response, Burrell was disinvited from Ellen, with producers canceled her planned appearance.
But Pharrell still showed up, addressing the controversy with DeGeneres on today"s episode.
"She said some very not nice things about homosexuals, so I didn’t feel that was good of me to have her on the show to give her a platform after she was saying things about me," DeGeneres explained.
Pharrell, who does know Burrell well as a result of their collaboration, agreed.
"There’s no space, there"s no room for any kind of prejudice in 2017 and moving on," he replied. "There’s no room. She’s a fantastic singer, I love her, just like I love everybody else, and we all got to get used to that. …
"We all have to get used to everyone"s differences and understand that this is a big, gigantic, beautiful, colorful world and it only works with inclusion and empathy. It only works that way."

Gwen Stefani & Blake Shelton Are a MIRACLE, Says Pharrell
The romance between Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton may have taken us all by surprise, but according to their co-stars on The Voice, the pair are now moving at full force.
During an appearance on the Today show, Pharrell Williams and Carson Daly gave us the scoop on America"s new favorite couple.
"It"s poppin" off!" Pharrell told host Savannah Guthrie, after she inquired about whether Gwake acted all lovey-dovey on set.
"Can"t separate those two," chimed in Carson Daly.
Pharrell couldn"t hold back his enthusiasm when speaking about his fellow Voice coaches.
“It’s so beautiful because, you know being there, I watched both of them go through a lot, and you hate to see you friends go through something so heavy,” he said.
“It was kind of like a miracle, man, just watching that,” he added.
Both Pharrell and Carson admitted they had no idea a dalliance was blossoming between the two while working on the show.
Pharrell said he found out via a text sent Blake sent him.
“Blake sends me a text message, and I’m like, ‘whoa!"” he recalls.
"We were all, like, whoa," said Carson.
The latest scuttlebutt is that Blake was furious that Christina Aguilera replaced Gwen as a coach this season. To quell his anger, The Voice producers reportedly brought the No Doubt singer back as an advisor to serve on Blake"s team.
Neither Pharrell nor Carson made mention of wedding bells between their co-stars, but we"re sure the tabloids will keep us posted.

Jay Z: Did He Give Pharrell Williams a Black Eye?!
As you may have heard, Jay Z’s music-streaming service Tidal isn’t doing so hot. It’s almost as though people weren’t crazy about the idea of shelling out more than they pay for Spotify just so some millionaire celebs could get even righer. Go figure!
Anyway, Jay is reportedly embarrassed by Tidal’s failure, and sources say he’s been lashing out at some of the A-listers involved – sometimes literally.
Pharrell Williams has been spotted rocking a black eye recently, and there have been rumors within the music industry that Jay knocked Pharrell cold after the latter tried to back out of his contract with Tidal.
It may seem like a wild accusation to level at one of the successful moguls in hip hop, but before he matured into the laid-back family man we know today, Jay was known to get caught up in some occasional violence.
(And no, we’re not talking about his elevator scuffle with Solange Knowles.)
Several sources claimed to have witnessed the scuffle, but reps for both artists say it never happened.
Pharrell’s people are telling TMZ that the black eye is the result of his wife accidentally hitting him in the face with a spatula.
This may sound crazy, but we believe him. It’s one of those situations where if the man wanted to lie, he’d come up with a more believable story.
