J.K. Simmons Is Totally Jacked Now! WOW!
You might know J.K. Simmons as “that guy.”
That guy who played the dad in Juno, that guy who won the Academy Award in Whiplash, that guy from the Spiderman movies. Basically, he’s a character actor who’s been in a lot of stuff.
You may have also heard him referred to as “that bald guy,” but likely never “that insanely ripped sexagenarian.”
Yep, the pic above is J.K. Simmons, not Santa Claus on steroids.
And yes, the long white beard is new, too, but it’s the muscles that are making jaws drop.
Simmons is training with fitness pro Aaron Williamson, who has been sharing pics of the transformed actor to Instagram.
“Every time we train together I forget he’s 61 years old,” Williamson wrote. “So much respect for this guy. #JKSimmons #OldManCranking”
Here’s another photo he shared:
“Saturday morning, 61 years old & making the young generation jealous,” the trainer captioned the pic.
“This is what dedication looks like. #JKSimmons,” he added.
Dedication, indeed. *Puts down brownie*
The always-working actor is possibly getting buff in preparation for his upcoming role in Justice League, in which he plays Commissioner Gordon.

Now there’s a headline I didn’t expect to write today.
The National Enquirer’s new cover story announces that Richard Simmons is now a woman and bills the fitness guru as “the new Caitlyn Jenner.”
According to the tabloid, Simmons has undergone breast implant surgery, hormone therapy and taken additional steps toward the transition.
“[This is] not just Richard Simmons in drag. This is Richard dressed as a softly spoken woman named Fiona!” a source tells the publication.
This is hard to believe. Richard Simmons is “softly spoken??”
Last week, Simmons was hospitalized after his housekeeper and longtime friend noticed he was exhibiting “bizarre” behavior.
Paramedics rushed to the house and determined that he should be taken in for evaluation.
He was later released, but the cause or nature of his odd conduct is still unclear.
Some are now speculating that the hospital visit had something to do with the star’s transition.
The normally gregarious exercise instructor had turned into a recluse over the past two years and rarely left his house, but the Enquirer story claims he has been venturing out, but dressed as a woman.
Earlier reports claimed he had fallen into a deep depression after a knee replacement, which prevented him from working out like he used to.
Fans loved ones had become concerned and even suspected his housekeeper, who has been with him for 30 years, was holding him hostage inside his mansion.
But Simmons insisted he was fine, just taking a much-needed break from the spotlight.
“This is how I want to live my life right now,” he concludes. “And to all the people that are worried about me, please don’t be.”

Richard Simmons: Rushed to Hospital Following "Bizarre" Behavior
Alarming news for Richard Simmons fans.
The fitness guru was hospitalized on Friday after exhibiting “bizarre conduct,” reports TMZ.
Someone in Simmons’ Hollywood Hills home became concerned when they noticed the odd behavior some time before midnight and called 911.
Paramedics rushed to the home, performed a preliminary evaluation and determined he should be taken to the hospital for further analysis.
It is unclear whether he still remains in the hospital.
The concerning report comes just a few months after Simmons was thought to have been taken hostage by his housekeeper inside the mansion.
Simmons had disappeared from the spotlight for an extended period of time and those close to him were concerned.
However, after the report hit, he clarified to fans that he was fine and just taking a break from public appearances.
“No one should be worried about me,” he reassured fans during a phone interview.
“The people that surround me are wonderful people who take great care of me,” he added.
“But it was time for me to take some time to be by myself.”
Known for his perky personality and unstoppable energy, Simmons shot to fame in the 80s for his weight-loss programs and fitness videos, most notably his Sweatin’ to the Oldies series.
“For the last 40 years I have been traveling, teaching classes, and I had a knee injury, so I had a knee replacement, which was very difficult for me,” Simmons added.
“I have really just been taking it easy, staying at home, working out in my gym and doing the things I haven’t done in a very long time.”
In 2014, the star reportedly fell into a deep depression following a knee injury and became uncharacteristically reclusive.

Richard Simmons Suffers a Breakdown During Police Visit
Before he confirmed to the world that everything was fine, Richard Simmons got a house call from the LAPD.
Law enforcement performed a welfare check on the fitness guru after receiving a phone call from someone claiming Simmons was the victim of “elder abuse.”
According to Radar Online, the visit took place on January 24th, 2015, and the police interviewed both Simmons and his housekeeper for over an hour.
Simmons “was questioned away from his housekeeper and anyone else in the house,” a source told the publication.
“This is commonly done during welfare checks to make sure the person knows they can say anything, and are safe.
“Richard was happy to know that his fans were concerned. He had a range of emotions during the interview and did shed a few tears.”
Friends were concerned when Simmons started missing important events. However, the 67-year-old was “adamant that there was nothing amiss,” the source added
“No one was holding him hostage. He just wanted to take a break from the spotlight. He revealed there was pain with an ongoing knee injury and that he did feel overwhelmed at times. He said he had been going to doctor appointments.”
“The housekeeper was also questioned separately and even offered to go down to headquarters for further interviews,” the source added.
“Richard was upset that she was being scrutinized, but she understood it and was very cooperative.”
After conducting the interviews, cops made no discoveries in regards to abuse.
“Cops concluded Richard was in no danger, and explained they had to come out and investigate it,” the source said. “He was very sweet about the whole thing. It just seems like for the first time in his adult life, he was putting himself first.”
The concern prompted Simmons to put any rumors about his personal life to rest.
“No one should be worried about me,” Simmons told Entertainment Tonight over the phone.
“The people that surround me are wonderful people who take great care of me.”

According to Richard Simmons, at least.
Over the weekend, The New York Daily News ran a lengthy article in which it alleged that the fitness guru had been taken hostage.
The publication wrote that Simmons was being held against his will inside his Hollywood Hills mansion – for an extended period of time.
But while it’s true that Simmons has been out of the public spotlight for while, he would like everyone to know that everything is just fine.
Thanks for the concern, though!
“No one should be worried about me,” Simmons told Entertainment Tonight Executive Producer, Brad Bessey, by phone.
“The people that surround me are wonderful people who take great care of me.”
Simmons emphasized that he is “not kidnapped” and has simply remained in his home after knee replacement surgery left him in a lot of pain.
The high-spirited workout fiend has not been seen in public since January 2014.
“I love all the people who worry about me,” he reiterated.
“But it was time for me to take some time to be by myself.”
“For the last 40 years I have been traveling, teaching classes, and I had a knee injury, so I had a knee replacement, which was very difficult for me …”
“I have really just been taking it easy, staying at home, working out in my gym and doing the things I haven’t done in a very long time.”
Simmons, 67, says he still exercises everyday and weighs a fit 150 pounds.
“This is how I want to live my life right now,” he concludes. “And to all the people that are worried about me, please don’t be.”
“If I was in any trouble, if I was hurting in any way, I would reach out.”
“It is time right now for Richard Simmons to take care of Richard Simmons.”

Bill Simmons: PISSED at ESPN For Shutting Down Grantland
Back in May, ESPN fired Bill Simmons unexpectedly, thus forcing sports fans everywhere (read: Boston) to go to Gisele Bundchen’s Twitter page in order to to read the boastful ramblings of someone who regularly fellates Tom Brady.
We kid Simmons, but he’s really one of the funniest and most insightful sports journalists working today, and he deserved better than to be unceremoniously canned in very public fashion. Now, ESPN has twisted the knife by shutting down Grantland, the irreverent sports and pop culture site that Simmons created in 2011.
Many of the site’s writers stated that they found out they’d been laid off only when they saw the network’s tweets about the site being suspended.
In a statement, ESPN said that it plans to honor the contracts of all current Grantland writers and hopes to hire many of them to write for other ESPN platforms.
So while several casualties of the move have lamented the end of the site, most of them have kept any outrage they may be feeling in check. But not Simmons:
“I loved everyone I worked with at G and loved what we built. Watching good/kind/talented people get treated so callously = simply appalling,” Simmons tweeted moments ago.
The 46-year-old journalist has butted heads with ESPN many times over the course of his career. He was most recently suspended by the network last year for calling NFL commissioner Roger Goodell a “liar.”
His termination a few months later is believed to be the result of his tense relationship with network brass.
In a statement, ESPN claimed that the decision to shut down Grantland has nothing to do with Simmons or the nature of the site’s content, but was simply a result of the need to “direct our time and energy going forward to projects that we believe will have a broader and more significant impact across our enterprise.”
We’re sure Simmons will have more to say on the topic in the very near future.

We got Gene Friday night outside the awesome Rainbow Bar & Grill on the Sunset Strip, where he used a cockroach metaphor to describe the way these predators operate.
TMZ broke the story, the LAPD executed a search warrant on Simmon’s home after someone either downloaded child porn on a family computer or used their Internet access. Neither Gene nor anyone in his family were suspects … it’s someone who had gained access.
