Jana Duggar: "Wedding Selfie" Sparks Controversy

If you follow the ever-expanding Duggar clan closely, then you’re likely aware that Joy-Anna Duggar married Austin Forsyth over Memorial Day weekend, in a ceremony that was likely attended by every Arkansas native who isn’t married to Hillary Clinton.

Photos from Joy-Anna’s wedding have been making the rounds online, and they depict the usual scenes we’ve come to expect from a Duggar wedding:

Nervousness and joy in the eyes of the young people who are finally permitted to touch a member of the opposite sex.

Jim Bob creepily overseeing the proceedings like some sort of god-like figure who’s way too involved in his daughter’s sex lives.

And of course, Jana Duggar playing 18th fiddle in the background, taking care of kids and all the other details her parents can’t be bothered with.

Jana’s earned the nickname “the Cinderella Duggar” thanks to her years of tireless toil in service of her parents and siblings.

The Duggars, of course, have long been selling the idea that Jana enjoys staying on the compound and homeschooling eight minors.

They attempted to drive that point home by posting this photo in Joy-Anna’s wedding album:

“Jana decided it was time to get out of the house for an afternoon hike and she had plenty who wanted to go with her!” Michelle Duggar captioned the pic.

Yes, Jana – who’s been caring for children for as long as she’s been able to care for herself – decided to go for a pre-wedding walk in the woods, probably to clear her head of all the noise and chaos … and she was followed by 12 freakin’ people.

If that’s not the smile of a woman on the verge of losing it, we don’t know what is.

The reaction to the photo was decidedly mixed, with some fans continuing to heap praise upon the family, while others pointed out that Jana’s existence seems uniquely hellish:

“The reason Jana isn’t married is this picture. She is in charge of raising the younger children. She isn’t allowed by daddy. He also doesn’t allow the Duggar girls to get a college education. They are married off to make more children,” wrote one fan.

“Is this poor girl ever NOT on kid duty?” commented another.

“Can’t they just leave Jana alone sometimes or do they have to be with the poor girl everywhere she goes?” added a third.

Of course, it’s possible that the only one who’s not pissed off about Jana’s situation is Jana.

After all, you really never see the girl without a smile on her face.

That said, we wouldn’t be surprised to learn she’s been chipping away at her bedroom wall behind a poster of Rita Hayworth all these years.

The Real Housewives of New York City Season 9 Episode 9 Recap: More Cheating Allegations!

With Tom’s infidelity coming to the forefront once again, it’s making for a boring string of episodes of The Real Housewives of New York City. 

On The Real Housewives of New York City Season 9 Episode 9, the rumors continued to swirl, but it all felt like a rehash of Season 8.

When the episode got underway, LuAnn continued to claim she trusted Tom, even though there was a lot of evidence that he was stepping out on her. 

“I’m getting married in two weeks,” LuAnn declared. “What couple doesn’t have lover’s quarrels?”

Ramona opened up about Tom exchanging saliva with other women, but LuAnn did not seem to care. Is there a chance that she lets her man do that to her?

Bethenny then chimed in with her thoughts on the matter. 

“We all just want to hit her over the head with a baseball bat one last time to make sure she’s really sure,” Bethenny said to the camera, adding that “cracks become craters.”

Ramona tried to get LuAnn to admit that Tom had not stopped being a cheat, but it was all falling on deaf ears. Ramona then felt the need to imply she was trying to help LuAnn because she was worried. 

Um, we’ve already witnessed a number of scenes with Ramona being downright obsessed with LuAnn. 

“Tom and I are confident in who we are, and we trust each other,” Luann fired back, irate at being put on the spot.

The conversation quickly changed gears when LuAnn opened up about her and Tom’s luxurious lifestyle. Seriously, LuAnn, get yourself some new friends and a new man.

While the Tom drama seemed over, Ramona switched her attention to making things right with Bethenny. Bethenny, however, was done with Ramona. 

LuAnn stepped in to offer some advice. Bethenny fired back that LuAnn’s advice found her in the “torture chamber” she was stuck in with Jason Hoppy. 

“I’m in a very, very negative, tortuous situation as a result of my divorce and I am holding on by a thread,” Bethenny said.

LuAnn then tried to imply that everything would be all right and Bethenny should look at it as life defining moment. This did not impress Bethenny, and she decided to shout at her former friend. 

“I didn’t go through s–t! I’m in s–t! I’ll never be done!”

“I don’t know why I’m being punished this way,” she cried. “I sometimes feel hopeless, and I sometimes feel like my ex is untouchable and I’m not going to be able to get out of this.”

Ramona then felt the need to get very drunk and try to make nice with Bethenny. 

“Ramona, all of a sudden, like a bat, comes crawling on my shoulder,” Bethenny says to the camera. Ramona then tried to apologize, but Bethenny left. 

Ramona chased her and the two ladies finally engaged in a conversation. 

“I want to go through it because I want you to understand it,” Bethenny said. “You have not been a good friend to me.”

“Wow, wow, Bethenny, wow!” Ramona screamed. “Are you f–king kidding me? Are you kidding me?”

Lee Garrett: Read The Bachelorette Suitor"s Racist Tweets!

Several weeks ago, ABC cast Rachel Lindsay as The Bachelorette, making her the first-ever African-American star of this beloved franchise.

But while the network was praised for taking this progressive step, it now faces a new, race-related controversy just two weeks into Season 13.

And it all centers on a suitor named Lee Garrett.

On Wednesday evening, a multitude of disturbing tweets allegedly sent from Garrett’s account were leaked on social media.

These messages would be considered ignorant at generous best, and extremely racist at more honest worst. To wit:

“What’s the difference between the NAACP and the KKK? Wait for it…One has the sense of shame to cover their racist a– faces.”

“America is becoming an urban Vietnam,” reads another Tweet, from June 2016. “Practice your second amendment. It’s there for a reason.”

Is it inherently racist to encourage gun ownership or gun use? Of course not.

But Garrett also linked to an article last year that labeled the Black Lives Matter movement as a terrorist organization.

Aside from making controversial remarks on race, Garrett also makes it very clear on many occasions that he doesn’t believe in the concept of feminism.

“When is the last time YOU saw a pretty feminist? There’s a reason for this,” he Tweeted just over a year ago.

ABC has yet to comment on these offensive Tweets, which certainly appear to have been sent by Garrett.

But we cannot verify with absolute certainty whether or not this is the case.

Garrett is a 30-year-old singer/songwriter from Nashville, Tennessee.

His Twitter account is set to private, but he describes himself as “pleasantly offensive” in his bio.

How far does Garrett go this season? You can visit our section of The Bachelorette spoilers to find out, but there’s where things get tricky for ABC.

This season has already taped. All episodes are “in the can” to use television jargon.

Producers can’t just go ahead and fire Garrett, no matter what sort of backlash ensues from this discovery.

And make no mistake: there WILL be backlash.

Just consider the Tweets above and below, one of which reads “Hillary is the millennial’s version of O.J.”

Yes, he’s comparing a Presidential candidate to a very likely murderer.

No one associated with The Bachelorette has spoken out yet on Garrett’s various viewpoints.

But a journalist also landed in hot water last week after writing an article that praised Lindsay as The Bachelorette, yet also pointed to research that said black women rarely date outside their race.

No one ever said making history would be easy we guess, huh?

It will be interesting to watch The Bachelorette online or on television each week going forward in order to analyze how Garrett interacts with Rachel.

Jennifer Garner (Kindly) Lashes Out at People Magazine, Sets "Record Straight"

Excuse her, celebrity gossip world.

Excuse her, please!

But Jennifer Garner has a few things she would like to say.

The lovely actress and mother of three has remained almost entirely silent ever since she and Ben Affleck started having marital issues.

After a great deal of reported back-and-forth last year that left fans wondering about the true status of their relationship, Garner at last filed for divorce in mid-April.

This marriage of just about a decade is most definitely over… but someone apparently forgot to tell this to People Magazine.

For its latest issue, the publication features Garner on the cover and quotes multiple sources, one of whom talks about the “difficult decision” Garner made to finally split from her famous husband.

Claims one insider, speaking on Garner’s reaction to the break-up:

“She’s certainly not jumping up and down and screaming, ‘I’m single!’ and planning dates. She still says Ben was the love of her life.”

Here’s the thing, though:

While the magazine clearly wants you to believe Garner gave it an exclusive interview and talked openly to a writer about her life these days…

… she actually did no such thing.

Irritated enough by the implication that she spilled any divorce-related beans to People, Garner broke her silence on the state of her marriage in order to make it clear that she hasn’t actually broken her silence on the state of her marriage.

“It has been brought to my attention that there is a People magazine cover and article out today that appear to be coming from me,” Garner wrote on Facebook last night.

She went on to reference silly pregnant rumors that she’s learned to easily shrug off, adding:

“It isn’t unusual for me to receive calls from loved ones thinking I forgot to tell them I am pregnant–with twins!–(Geez Louise), but those are so ridiculous they’re easy to ignore.”

This, however?

This is different because People is typically a reliable and respected publication, while editors set up this feature in a way that very much made it appear as if they had Garner’s cooperation.

But they did not.

“This isn’t a tragedy by any measure, but it does affect me and my family and so, before my mom’s garden club lights up her phone, I wanted to set the record straight,” Garner wrote, concluding as follows:

“I did not pose for this cover. I did not participate in or authorize this article. While we are here, for what it’s worth: I have three wonderful kids and my family is complete.

“Have a beautiful day. Love, Jen.”

Yes, this is Jennifer Garner being angry.

What a calm, reasonable, funny human being.

You really messed this one up, Ben. It has to be said.

A spokesperson for the People has responded to Garner and both defended its reputation, while also acknowledging the truth behind what Garner wrote:

“PEOPLE covers Hollywood stars beloved by our audience, and our story on Jennifer Garner is fair and truthful. To be clear, it does not include rumors and does not say she’s pregnant.

‘We wish her well.”

Affleck and Garner announced their separation over a year ago.

Most outlets have reported that the cause of the split was Affleck’s penchant for partying and/or his general lack of interest in settling down as a family man.

But there doesn’t seem to be any bitterness between the estranged spouses, who continue to spend a lot of time together with their kids.

“Jen is a superhero mom. She is an amazing mother and I’m really lucky to have her as a partner to co-parent these kids with,” he shared Affleck told E! News after the break-up, adding:

“We try our best, we put them first and that’s what we do.”

As for whether or not Garner is dating Brad Pitt?!?
