As previously reported, Kim Kardashian has given birth to a Saint.
No, really. The reality star and Kanye West came out on Monday and announced that their second child is named Saint West.
Why did the famous couple go with a non-directional moniker?
Why did they choose such an unusual name?
According to E! Online and Us Weekly sources, it all goes back to Kim’s challenging pregnancy.
The 35-year old was diagnosed a few months ago with a condition called “placenta accreta.”
Just a few days before giving birth, Kardashian revealed that her baby was breach, which meant she would be stuck getting a C-section.
Until, that is, a painful procedure turned the boy around.
As a result of this condition and the complications that came with it, Kim suffered through a very painful birth.
She and Kanye also therefore saw the baby as a “blessing,” and a miracle, explains an E! News insider. Hence the name “Saint.”
The newborn, of course, joins big sister North and also cousin Reign in the grandiose name department.
Meanwhile, the word “saint” is related to Kanye’s fashion background, as he attended Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design.
As for one of Kimye’s favorite designer labels? Yup, it’s Saint Laurent Paris.
But a different theory has also cropped up on social media, one that makes it appear as if Kim is STILL not over ex-boyfriend Reggie Bush.
The running back, who dated Kardashian for years before splitting from her in 2010, was drafted number-two overall in 2006.
And the professional football team who selected him with that pick? You guessed it: the New Orleans Saints.
This would seem to make things a bit awkward for Kim and Kanye. Perhaps they should have taken our advice and gone with one of these baby names instead:
