The fashion game of Kanye West remains tight.
According to one of the country’s leading publications, that is.
A year after being named GQ’s Most Stylish Man of 2014, Kanye West has been named GQ’s Most Stylish Man of 2015.
The men’s magazine announced on Tuesday that Yeezus walked away with the honor following a flurry of votes that helped him come out on top against model Lucky Blue Smith.
“In the final moments of this year’s showdown, tweets from Kim, Kourtney, Khloe [Kardashian] and even Kris Jenner spiked the number of votes cast in West’s direction,” GQ wrote.
We’re not entirely sure what it says about an award when the presenting sponsor admits that one’s relatives can Tweet one to victory.
The final tally, GQ added, was 520,119 votes for West; 445,073 for Lucky Blue.
“Thank you GQ and to everyone who voted, it’s been an amazing year!!!” Kanye wrote on Twitter in response, while Kim Kardashian added:
“YOU DID IT GUYS!!!!! KANYE WON!!! THANK YOU FOR VOTING!”
Earlier this year, the 38-year-old artist was named one the most stylish men alive by GQ, joining such as other apparently fashionable fellas at the time as Ryan Gosling, Jay Z, Pharrell Williams and Bradley Cooper.
“The team spent countless hours pulling scores of photos – pretty much every look each nominee has been caught wearing in the last few years,” the magazine explained back then.
“There were moving boxes full of research files, long editing sessions spearheaded by creative director Jim Moore and design director Fred Woodward, and still more debate that centered around the question:
“Who truly has unique, effortless, deeply-ingrained personal style that we all can learn from?”
This time around, however, it got lazy and just asked people to Tweet a lot.
