Andi Dorfman Slams The Bachelor as "The Stupidest Thing" Ever

It’s safe to say Andi Dorfman will not sit back and watch The Bachelor online next season.

Or on television, either.

The former suitor – who made headlines for dumping Juan Pablo Galavis in 2014 after their fantasy suite date – told Cosmopolitan.com that she regretted signing on for The Bachelor from nearly the moment cameras started rolling.

“I remember standing in the rose ceremony room, it’s 4:30 in the morning at this point, it’s freezing cold, everyone is cold and nervous standing on these risers, and you could hear the teeth chattering and the deep breaths,” Dorfman explained to the site.

“And I watch Juan Pablo come in with a stack of roses, and I’m thinking:

‘This is the stupidest thing I’ve ever been a part of. I’m standing here cold, my feet hurt, and I’m waiting for a dude I don’t know to give me a rose.”

Dorfman is a former Assistant District Attorney for Fulton County, Georgia.

So it’s not exactly surprising that she’d be one of the only women to come out and admit how dumb/embarrassing/ridiculous the entire show set-up is.

Dorfman did end up starring on The Bachelorette Season 10 and getting engaged to Josh Murray.

But that relationship fizzled out in the end.

“It took me a while to look back on [The Bachelorette] fondly,” Dorfman also told Cosmo.

“I definitely didn’t during the breakup, and even when I was still in the relationship, when things weren’t good, I didn’t look at it fondly. But now I’m like, I got to do this incredible thing that I had no business doing. I have no business being on television, being on a red carpet, being on a press tour.

“So I can’t help but look at it and feel like one of the luckiest girls in the world.”

A new season of The Bachelorette kicks off on ABC on May 23.

And Dorfman’s memoir, “It’s Not Okay: Turning Heartbreak Into Happily Never After,” hits book shelves on May 17.
