When he was spotted at a bar the night before Easter, fans worried that Lamar Odom fell off the wagon.
It hadn’t been six months since he overdosed at a Nevada brothel, which resulted in an extended hospital stay. So it was a surprise to learn that Odom headed to Johnny O’Brien in Sherman Oaks, CA on March 26th.
“He looked sad, or even serious, I would say, when he came in and ordered a drink,” someone at the bar told Radar Online.
Odom, who arrived at the bar a little before midnight with friends, was seen sipping on Remy Martin cocktails (which he paid for himself).
“I definitely did not get the party vibe from him like he was looking to have fun or have a good time.”
The outing may have upset Kardashian, who tweeted on March 29th, “I hate this feeling…. Helpless.”
A source told Us Weekly that the Kocktails with Khloe host “is very worried, but Lamar refuses to listen to her.”
“He actually said, ‘Nothing will happen to me. Look at how I survived this last one.’”
Despite claims that Kardashian is footing Odom’s medical bills and supporting him financially, sources close to her say that is simply not the case.
In fact, Odom took Kardashian’s security to the bar that night.
“He went out with Khloe’s security to meet some friends and get out of the house. He bought them the drinks, but didn’t drink himself,” the source pointed out.
“Khloe’s security guard was with him, which is just like having Khloe with you. He just wanted to get out into the real world for a second and feel normal.”
Odom, the source added, has been “so good and healthy.”
Another insider clarified the financial situation, telling the magazine that Odom is spending his own money on recovery.
As his caretaker, Kardashian “authorizes the management company to pay using Lamar’s money.”
She’s no dumb dumb.
