Angela Simmons Mourns Murder of Ex-Fiance, Father of Her Son
Tragedy has struck close to home for Angela Simmons.
According to The Atlanta Police Department, officers responded around 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 3 to gun shots fired around a home in the southwestern part of the city.
A victim, who authorities did not identify at the time, was subsequently found with multiple gun shots inside an open garage.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office later confirmed that that deceased was Sutton Tennyson, the former fiancé of Simmons and the father of this Growing Up Hip Hop star’s son, Sutton Jr.
He is pictured above with his child and with Angela and he was 37 years old when he died.
Based on a preliminary investigation, the aforementioned shots were fired after a conversation with another male escalated into a serious argument.
After firing multiple shots, the suspect then “sped from the scene in a car,” police wrote in the official report.
On Sunday morning, the Growing Up Hip Hop cast member – who is the daughter of Run D.M.C.’s Rev. Run – shared a series of emotional tributes to Tennyson, starting with the photo below.
“Thank you for leaving behind my greatest gift . I’m hurting . I’m numb. Thank you for the out pouring of love everyone,” reads Angela’s caption to this image.
“I cant believe I’m even saying Rest In Peace Sutton,” she added. “I promise to hold SJ down in every way I promise.”
Sutton Jr. is only two years old.
Simmons then went ahead and posted a video of her son looking at videos of his dad. It’s heartbreaking.
“Reflecting,” her affiliated message reads. “He keeps replaying it RIP Sutton.”
“We made an angel,” Simmons wrote alongside the snapshot here, adding of another image:
“Rest easy Sutton.”
Elsewhere, Angela’s’ siblings also shared condolences on social media.
Her sister, Vanessa Simmons, said she was “literally at loss for words my heart breaks for my sister and nephew .. RIP Sutton.”
And there was this from Simmons’ brother, Joseph Simmons.
He penned a lengthy post that read, in part, “I’m here to be the man for your son to look up to and call whenever he needs me ! #RIPSutton @angelasimmons I GOT YOU.”
Simmons confirmed her split from Tennyson in December of 2017.
As you can see by these photos, however, he remained a vital part of his son’s life.
We send our condolences to the friends, family members and loved ones of Sutton Tennyson.
May he rest in peace.

Donald Trump Threw Starburst Candies at Angela Merkel
Well, no matter where you fall on the ideological spectrum, surely we can all agree that it’s been yet another bonkers week in the world of American politics.
At this point, if you were to list all the ridiculous news that’s come out of the Trump White House in the past month, it would sound like you were singing a parody of “We Didn’t Start the Fire.”
Kids in cages, Manafort jailed, North Korea summit fail, Kim Kardashian, Kim Jong-Un, nobody is having fun!
You get the idea.
There’s so much appalling news making the headlines these days (did we mention the kids in cages?) that it’s easy to forget the lighter side of the Donald.
Remember all that goofy, blowhard sh-t he used to say and do before he got into politics?
Yeah, he’s still doing that stuff, except now it’s overshadowed by the fact that he might literally destroy the world.
And that’s a real tragedy, because when he’s at his most infantile, Trump is every bit as unintentionally funny as Tommy Wiseau or Don Jr.
The latest shenanigans from our wacky president come to us from the G7 summit, where the world’s most influential leaders famously stared Trump down and received a doofy Alfred E. Neuman grin in return.
We expect Trump to behave like a petulant toddler on the world stage, but this time he really upped the ante by literally throwing candy at arguably the most powerful woman in the world.
Yes, according to Newsweek, Trump tossed a couple Starbursts at German Chancellor Angela Merkel, and said — we sh-t you not:
“Here, Angela. Don’t say I never give you anything.”
Is this guy wacky or what?
The incident was described in detail by Eurasia Group President Ian Bremmer:
“Trump was sitting there with his arms crossed, clearly not liking the fact that they were ganging up on him,” Bremmer said.
“And at that point, he stood up, put his hand in his pocket, his suit jacket pocket, and he took two Starburst candies out, threw them on the table and said to Merkel, ‘Here, Angela. Don’t say I never give you anything,’”
Wow. If those had been yellow Starbursts, we’d be a week into World War III right now. Fact.
Fortunately, Trump carries only beautiful, gorgeous pink ‘Bursts in his jacket.
Just a terrific flavor, folks, really.

Angela Lansbury: My Words Were Taken Out of Context!
In a recent interview, Angela Lanbsury left fans stunned with victim-blaming comments, suggesting that women bore some part of the blame for sexual harassment and that harassment was the result of women’s beauty “backfiring.” Yikes.
92-year-old Lansbury isn’t on Twitter, but she did hear about the backlash. And she’s even issued what could almost be an apology … sort-of.
It’s a tale as old as time: her comments were “taken out of context.” Here we go …
Before we get to her new statement, let’s refresh our memories on what she already said.
“There are two sides to this coin.”
She’s talking about the revelations where women bravely come forward about the men in their midsts who are actually sex monsters.
“We have to own up to the fact that women, since time immemorial, have gone out of their way to make themselves attractive.”
That’s true.
“And unfortunately it has backfired on us — and this is where we are today.”
We don’t think that it’s necessarily related. Sexual misconduct isn’t new — women feeling comfortable enough to come forward in groups and tell the world about these men is new. Very new.
“We must sometimes take blame, women. I really do think that.”
We’re not sure how a woman could deserve any possible blame for her own sexual harassment or assault.
Owning nice things doesn’t make you to blame for having those things stolen. And sexual assault is a hell of a lot more serious than having to buy a new TV.
Her comments were worrisome.
Compared to Geraldo Rivera’s tone-deaf defense of Matt Lauer, though, we have to remember that there are worse opinions to have.
But, as we told you, Angela seemed to walk back some of her comments during that same interview:
“Although it’s awful to say we can’t make ourselves look as attractive as possible without being knocked down and raped.”
Absolutely true. But seems to very nearly contradict her earlier comments.
“Should women be prepared for this? No! They shouldn’t have to be! There’s no excuse for that.”
She’s right about that.
And she finished her comments with a dose of optimism.
“And I think it will stop now — it will have to. I think a lot of men must be very worried at this point.”
We hope that it will stop, but we wonder how many of these sex monsters actually realize that they’re part of the problem.
In a statement obtained by Entertainment Tonight, Angela Lansbury clarified her controversial comments.
“There is no excuse whatsoever for men to harass women in an abusive sexual manner.”
That is an important clarification.
“And, I am devastated that anyone should deem me capable of thinking otherwise.”
We hope that she can see how her own statement led people to be concerned about her beliefs.
“Those who have known the quality of my work and the many public statements I have made over the course of my life, must know, that I am a strong supporter of Women’s Rights.”
That’s certainly true.
“Lastly, I would like to add that I am troubled by how quickly and brutishly some have taken my comments out of context and attempted to blame my generation, my age, or my mindset, without having read the entirety of what I said.”
Ageism could lead people to dismiss her comments without taking offense or listening. But we’d point out that some people never lose their mental faculties as they age.
Here’s the thing:
Some people literally only read headlines. it can be because they’re at work or busy or maybe they think that the headline tells the whole story.
You need to read all of the comments. We were sure to include the context.
But when you’re a public figure and you make statements about women deserving blame, no matter what you say afterwards, it’s going to rub people the wrong way.
We’re glad that Angela Lansbury issued this clarification but … people were responding to her words.

Angela Lansbury Crushes Fans with Victim-Blaming Interview
Angela Lansbury is a 92-year-old legend of acting and singing. From Gaslight to Beauty and the Beast to Murder, She Wrote, Angela has entertained generation after generation during her lengthy career.
She’s a beloved figure … which is why this news is so, so disappointing.
Because Angela Lansbury appears to be placing part of the blame for sexual assaults in the entertainment industry on the victims. Oh no, Angela. …
Like most people, one of the first things that I did this morning was check Twitter.
It used to be where we’d see short jokes and also some updates on the lives of famous people.
Now, Twitter is the vehicle through which we receive our news and perpetuate our sense of existential dread as the horror show of 2017 rages all around us.
I saw the name of living legend Angela Lansbury trending and was immediately gripped with terror that perhaps she had died. She is still alive, but the reason for which she’s trending is incredibly disappointing.
As one tweet summarized:
“*sees Angela Lansbury is trending* ‘OH NO SHE BETTER NOT BE DEAD’ ‘oh wait it’s worse"”
That tweet resonated with thousands of people who liked and retweeted it.
Because, as it turns out, Angela Lansbury made some very incendiary comments about sexual assault and sexual harassment:
A few years ago, Angela Lansbury shot down the idea of a Murder, She Wrote remake. At the time, her view was a little controversial, but as the star of the incredibly long-running series, it was totally her right to speak her mind.
This, however, is another matter.
In a recent interview with Radio Times, Angela Lansbury addressed the #MeToo movement and the countless women who have come forward with horror stories about rape and sexual harassment, in and out of the entertainment industry.
Lansbury’s comments are troubling:
“There are two sides to this coin.”
Sure … in that one side of the coin was just going about its life and the other side of the coin decided to rape it.
“We have to own up to the fact that women, since time immemorial, have gone out of their way to make themselves attractive.”
That’s true, in part because patriarchal cultures value women based upon their looks while they value men for a whole spectrum of criteria.
“And unfortunately it has backfired on us — and this is where we are today.”
Yikes. It looks like she’s operating under the misunderstanding that sexual assault is primarily about attraction, rather than about power, control, and violence.
And her comments get worse:
“We must sometimes take blame, women. I really do think that.”
How, we wonder? Some women participate in a culture of silence (generally out of fear), but it’s never a woman’s fault that she’s harassed or assaulted.
Lansbury did seem to realize what she was implying, because she partially backtracked:
“Although it’s awful to say we can’t make ourselves look as attractive as possible without being knocked down and raped.”
Yeah, that would be awful … though it’s not clear that this isn’t what she was saying.
Angela Lansbury continued to attempt to correct her statements.
“Should women be prepared for this? No, they shouldn’t have to be! There’s no excuse for that.”
Correct. There is literally zero excuse for sexual assault, in the workplace or elsewhere.
“And I think it will stop now — it will have to. I think a lot of men must be very worried at this point.”
It’s good that she feels so optimistic about the #MeToo movement’s effectiveness. We hope that she’s right about that.
Her earlier comments did not go unnoticed, however, and Twitter was not having it:
“Dear Angela Lansbury, I understand that you are 92 years old and from a different time, but your views only strengthen the disgusting men who perpetrate such acts against your sex.”
Again, women may wear whatever they like. That does not in any way mean that they are playing a role in inviting their attackers.
“It’s NEVER the woman’s fault!”
Truth.
“Murder She Wrote would have been quite a different show if in each episode Angela Lansbury blamed the victim.”
Sometimes, it’s harder to hear these comments from actors who have portrayed champions for justice. Sadly, not every actor is Mariska Hargitay. Only Mariska herself is, technically.
“Angela Lansbury’s age doesn’t give her a free pass.”
That’s also true.
Hopefully, Angela Lansbury will respond to the backlash.
After all, Gabby Douglas victim-shamed Aly Raisman after Raisman came forward about sex abuse at the hands of Dr. Larry Nassar. But Gabby then apologized — more than once.
We hope that Angela will do the same.
Otherwise, it’s going to make our next viewing of Murder, She Wrote … really awkward.

Blac Chyna: Already Cashing In On "Angela Kardashian" Name!
Say what you will about Blac Chyna, the girl moves fast when she’s going after something she wants.
Just a few months after getting Future’s name tattooed on her hand, Blac is fully wifed up with Rob Kardashian, and she’s sealing the deal every which way she can.
First, Rob and Blac got engaged.
Shortly thereafter, we learned that Blac is pregnant with Rob’s baby.
Now, Blac is planting her flag in Rob’s most valuable asset – his famous surname.
Yes, according to TMZ Ms. Chyna has already filed papers to trademark the moniker “Angela Kardashian.”
According to the documents, Blac will have soon the exclusive rights to use the name for “entertainment services, namely live television and movie appearances,” as well as “living as a social media celebrity, model, actress, and performer.”
That’s right – she doesn’t even have the name yet, but she’s already planning a future as “social media celebrity” Angela Kardashian.
You’d have to head to San Francisco circa 1849 to find this much gold diggin’ going on.
Asked what Rob thinks about the move, Blac reportedly replied, “Rob who?”
We kid! Sure, Blac basically just confirmed that the whole relationship is a blatant cash grab, but Rob grew up around that kind of behavior, so we’re sure he’s used to it.
And hey, it’s not like his bride-to-be is the only one cashing in.
Blac and Rob are reportedly fielding seven-figure offers for what will likely be the most boring reality show in history.
Not only do these two have zero chemistry together, they’re basically only famous because of their relationships to other famous people, and all of the drama surrounding their relationship is already playing out on Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
Don’t get us wrong – interest in the couple remains high, and we’re sure Blac will be able to cash in on her new name, but we may have already passed peak ChyRo.

Angela "Big Ang" Raiola Forgave Estranged Husband on Deathbed, Sources Say
Earlier this week, Mob Wives star Angela “Big Ang” Raiola passed away after battling stage 4 cancer for several weeks.
As details of her final hours rolled in, we learned about Big Ang’s final words and the outpouring of love and support that she enjoyed just before her death.
Now, Radar Online is reporting that while she may have gained fame as a tough-talking badass, Ang’s final act was one of love and compassion.
In the final weeks of her life, Raiola became estranged from her husband, Neil Murphy.
She explained in an interview with Dr. Oz that Murphy failed to “step up” during her treatment, and while she knew that she might soon be facing the end, she decided she would rather do so alone.
According to Ang’s sister Janine Detore, however, Murphy never left his wife’s side during her painful last days, and before she slipped into a coma from which she would never emerge, Ang told Neil that she loved and forgave him.
“My sister would never ever keep a grudge or hard feelings for anybody,” Detore tells Radar. “She was just like that. You could do anything to her and she would be like, ‘Okay.’”
Displaying the loyalty and attitude that helped make her sister famous, Detore added:
“They didn’t have a fight. My sister was sick in the hospital. Do you really think Neil would fight with her? We would beat the s*** out of him. He would never do that anyway.”
Our thoughts go out to Big Ang’s massive network of family, friends and supporters during this difficult time.

Angela "Big Ang" Raiola: Last Words, Deathbed Details Revealed
Early this morning, Mob Wives star Angela “Big Ang” Raiola passed away after a battle with throat cancer.
Raiola experienced a brief period of full remission following a successful surgery in April of last year.
Sadly, her tumors returned in aggressive fashion a few weeks later, and in November, it was revealed that Raiola was suffering from stage 4 cancer that had spread to several organs, and was not expected to survive.
Just two days before her death, Big Ang appeared on The Dr. Oz Show, where she spoke of her love for her family and her acceptance of the fact that she was essentially fighting a losing battle.
Thankfully, insiders say though her fight was a painful one, Raiola was, for the most part, comfortable in her final hours, and according to the most recent report from Radar Online, the 55-year-old died as she lived – surrounded by friends and family.
“Everyone was crying,” says a source close to the family. “She was in her death bed last night. I’ve never seen her like that.
“She was just unconscious drifting in and out. She was laying there.”
The insider adds that family flew in from all over the country, and Ang’s estranged husband Neil Murphy was by her side when she took her last breath.
“Everyone was there,” says the source. “All her friends and family were there. Some of her family flew in from Florida.
“Neil was there. He stayed the whole time and until the end.”
Ang’s sister, Janine Detore, says that Raiola wasn’t able to speak toward the very end, but did communicate with her family one last time the day before her death.
“The last time she spoke was yesterday,” says Detore. “She just said she wanted to go home. It was very hard.”
Our thoughts go out to Ang’s family, friends, and many fans.
Angela Raiola Dies; Mob Wives" "Big Ang" Was 55
Angela ”Big Ang” Raiola has died after a battle with Stage 4 cancer, according to reports. The Mob Wives star was just 55 years old.
Ang was surrounded by close family members early this morning at a New York City hospital when the VH1 reality star passed away.
Raiola was first diagnosed with throat cancer in April when doctors discovered a tumor in her throat and it was removed shortly after.
Unfortunately, Ang learned that her cancer had returned in December and spread to her brain and lungs, leaving her prognosis grim.
Her rep released a statement saying Ang passed at 3:01 a.m.
Hours earlier, Ang’s team denied false reports that she died Wednesday evening, though this time her camp confirms the tragic truth.
Ang’s fans from her tenure on Mob Wives, the rep made a point of saying, “were some of the most special people in her world.”
Raiola “loved you immensely. Thank you for your love, prayers, and unconditional support of Angela right to the very end.”
Raiola is survived by her two kids, Raquel and Anthony, and six grandkids. Our thoughts are with them during this difficult time.

Angela "Big Ang" Raiola Talks Cancer Treatment, Reveals Chances of Survival
Back in April of 2015, Mob Wives star Angela Raiola was diagnosed with throat cancer.
That same month, she underwent surgery, and the tumor was successfully removed.
"Big Ang," as she"s known to fans, announced online that she was in complete remission, and she even scheduled a public appearance tour to celebrate.
Sadly, just last month Raiola learned that her cancer had returned in a particularly aggressive form.
In a public statement, Raiola"s family revealed that the popular reality TV star is now fighting stage 4 cancer, and doctors have advised that she prepare for the worst.
“Chemotherapy was started January 5," said Ang"s sister, Janice Detore.
"On January 26th the doctor reviewed her CT scan and informed us that the treatment was not working, and in fact one tumor grew larger and the other tumors had no change.”
Today, Ang appeared on The Dr. Oz Show for her first interview since learning that the cancer had returned.
She revealed that doctors have given her a 30 percent chance of survival, and that she"s parted ways with her husband of six years, Neil Murphy, after he failed to "step up" during her treatment.
Watch Big Ang talk about her illness and her decision to go it alone in the clip below:
