Keeping Up with the Kardashians Season 12 Episode 2 Recap: Lamar Gets a Second Chance

Sunday night’s Keeping Up with the Kardashians Season 12 Episode 2 focused largely on Kanye West’s fashion show in New York City.

As you might expect, this unique event spawned a number of storylines … including Lamar Odom making his first appearance in public.

It’s weird in a sense, but such is the life of the First Family of Reality TV, which headed to the Big Apple this week for Ye’s big show.

“New York is a very negative place for Lamar,” Khloe said, nothing that she had “a ton of anxiety” about Lamar heading to the event.

Kim also told Khloe she would talk to Caitlyn Jenner about their beef, but with everything going on with Odom, Khloe focused only on that.

“I don’t really care to see Caitlyn right now,” Khloe said.

Given Lamar’s situation, “I feel very overwhelmed.”

In New York, Odom said it was “Kanye’s day” and that Khloe shouldn’t worry about him. Well, she did, and his appearance was a big deal.

The arena went crazy and people started crying as the former NBA star walked on his own months after surviving a near-fatal overdose.

Soon, though, it was indeed Kanye’s day.

“Seeing Kanye’s whole vision of his collection … all of it blended together, it was a very cool, special moment,” Kim Kardashian gushed.

On the ride home, Kourtney Kardashian told Lamar that people’s prayers saved him and asked, “Do you have a new outlook on life?”

“I do,” the former NBA star said … though if reports of Lamar Odom drinking again are accurate, his word may not be the most trustworthy.

“God is good,” Kourtney said, while Khloe agreed obviously, but urged Odom to understand that this kind of second chance is very rare.

At one point, doctors said Odom had four hours to live, and in Khloe’s mind, “I want him to be more afraid” as a result of what happened.

“He is rare, this is like a second chance.”

She also said they could get back together at one point but would have to cut ties with their first marriage “because this one is tainted.” 

Not optimistic even then … and we know why. Some people simply won’t do what it takes to help themselves, and it’s tragically sad.

Speaking of alcoholics, Kourtney was having her own issues with Scott Disick partying like a madman with Kylie Jenner’s beau, Tyga.

She blamed the rapper in part for Disick’s recent behavior and told Kylie that she really just wanted to call him up and go off on him.

“I don’t know about going off on him, because he’s very sensitive,” the 18-year-old reality star said, ever the protective girlfriend.

June Shannon: The Duggars Don"t Deserve a Second Chance!

In October of last year, TLC canceled Here Comes Honey Boo Boo after it was revealed that June Shannon dated a man who was convicted of molesting one of her daughters.

In a bizarre case of history repeating itself, the network found itself dealing with a similar problem in May of this year when the world learned that Josh Duggar molested five young girls (four of whom were his sisters), and his parents went to great lengths to cover it up.

The situations are similarly appalling, but there’s one major difference between them:

While TLC permanently cut ties with Honey Boo Boo’s proudly redneck family, the network is giving the Duggars a second chance with Jill and Jessa: Counting On premiering next Sunday. 

Clearly, the decision was based on the bottom line, as the Duggars consistently brought on much higher ratings than the Shannon-Thompson clan. 

But despite the fact that her family never had quite as much clout as the Duggars, “Mama June” Shannon is still calling the network out for what she sees as an act of egregious hypocrisy. 

Of course, she didn’t put it in quite those words:

“TLC does some crazy stuff. Jill and Jessa are going back on TV,” Mama June said in a recent interview with Radar Online.

“Don’t tell me the Duggars aren’t going to be a part of that. They are working the Duggars back on TV in their own secret way.

“TLC took everything from us. They took so much away from the girls. Their bodyguards. They made them leave. The Duggars had security for weeks after they were canceled.”

Yes, apparently Honey Boo Boo had a full-time security detail. And Mama June is pissed that they’re not still around:

“They took out the two people who had been in my kids’ lives for three years,” she told the website. “If you were concerned about my kids, then why did you do that?”

And June believes TLC’s preferential treatment doesn’t stop with the Duggars:

“They are bringing Kate Plus 8 and they told me she was the worst person to work for and they were never going to bring her back,” she said. “I can’t believe TLC is bringing her back.”

June and “Sugar Bear” Thompson will star in the new season of Marriage Boot Camp, which premieres tonight on WE TV. 

Shannon says she’ll take the opportunity to clarify some misconceptions about her affair with convicted child molester Mark McDaniel:

“Mark’s not an issue. I’m not with him. I’m not dating him I never have,” Shannon told Radar.

“I honestly will feel better once the show comes out and the truth is revealed. The truth. Not just me saying it, the truth.”

Shannon adds that she Boot Camp producers even had her take a lie detector test while answering questions about her relationship with McDaniel.

Should be interesting – but it’ll never bring in Duggar ratings.

Tyga BEGGED Kylie Jenner For a Second Chance After Breakup, Source Claims

Last week, several media outlets reported that Kylie Jenner and Tyga had broken up.

Less than two days later, however, Kylie and Tyga revealed that they’re still together via a puzzling Snapchat post.

Last night, Kylie and Tyga attended several AMA after parties together and looked for all the world like a young couple in love.

But if they were never actually separated, why did Kyga allow the rumor to persist for almost 48 hours (an eternity in the modern social media landscape)?

Why did Kylie skip Tyga’s birthday party and fail to even mention the occasion on her beloved Instagram page? 

Well, according to an insider who spoke with Radar Online, the reason is that Kylie and Tyga did break up – and now they’re desperately trying to hide their myriad relationship troubles from their fans.

“They absolutely did break up last week, but it was not the first time by any means,” says the source. “It was just the first time that she let people find out about it.

“Tyga is desperate and literally begged her to give him one more chance. He told her that he would do anything she wanted for her not to leave him and he told her that he cannot live without her.”

Sounds like quite a bit of drama going on behind the facade of Kyga’s healthy, happy relationship.

It might be tough to believe, were it not for the fact that Kylie basically confirmed that she and Tyga have gone through secret breakups in the past:

“I don’t want people to know every time we fight or break up, so I’d rather keep some things private,” Kylie said in a recent interview.

The source says that each time they get back together, Kylie thinks it’s for good – but those around her know better:

“Their reconciliation will not last,” the insider says. “They are constantly in a huge fight because Tyga gets so jealous of her. To make matters worse she simply cannot trust him at all anymore with all the cheating rumors.

“No one in Kylie’s family likes Tyga at all anymore. He treats her like he owns her and Kylie ended it last week to teach him a lesson on how lucky he is to have her.

“Tyga was Kylie’s first everything. He was her first boyfriend and her first love. Sadly, everyone knows that the first love never lasts.”

If only someone had told Kylie that it was a bad idea for her to get involved with an inappropriately older rapper while she was still in high school.

Scandal Season 5 Episode 7 Recap: Does the Devil Deserve a Second Chance?

Following those pesky impeachment hearings, Fitz issued a public statement/apology to open Scandal Season 5 Episode 7.

He attempted to earn their trust back by vowing to work tirelessly for each and every one of them.

From there, Olivia dodged Abby’s questions about how she actually ended said impeachment hearings, though Abby gave her rival a knowing glance later on when Liv played dumb over Rowan’s “escape” from prison.

When Olivia got back home home, found finds Jake on her sofa. He blamed her for Elise’s demise and told her that she is Rowan’s greatest achievement.

Ouch! Burn! Olivia asked Jake to leave in response.

We then head to the Oval Office, where Olivia is camped out on the President’s couch… much to Cyrus’ chagrin. He realizes that she is really second in charge, not him, but that doesn’t stop Cyrus from telling Fitz to call off the FBI search for Rowan.

POTUS replies that he’s decided to go in a different direction.

At OPA, Huck has a few words to say to Olivia about her dad, believing Rowan will bring back B613 – but Olivia tells him the company is out of the spy business.

She then meets up with a woman named Hannah Taylor, who has been waiting in her office.

Taylor needs help getting justice against her rapist, Frank Holland, the man receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom. After hearing Hannah’s tale, Olivia heads to the White House.

Elsewhere, Abby learns from Liz North that Sally Langston has offered her an exclusive sit-down regarding her time in the White House.

She insists on being given a job within the President’s inner circle … or she’ll become a “lover of liberty.” Well played, Sally.

Cut to the Oval Office, where see that Jake is Fitz’s “different direction.” He plans to kill Rowan after he tracks him down.

Olivia and Quinn later meet with Frank Holland to ask him about the Hannah Taylor situation. He denies all allegations, saying Hannah plagiarized a paper for Holland’s class.

So, as you’ll note when you watch Scandal online, Quinn and Marcus set out to find more women Holland may have raped in order to help their case… and hit the jackpot.

Meanwhile, David is unable to prevent Liz from walking out of his office to give the interview with Sally Langston after she senses that this scheme has Cyrus Beene written all over it.

The Case of the Week concludes with the discovery that Holland’s wife is in total control, she doesn’t even let her husband talk. Hmmm… we wonder if this supposed to mirror anything going on within the White House.

Especially after Cyrus finds Olivia in the Oval Office again and Fitz takes her suggestion to let Liz go on air. He also makes Liz North Susan’s new Chief of Staff.

We end with Liz and David Rosen having sex (!!!!!) and with Cyrus confronting Olivia about her power inside the White House.

She better learn to wield it wisely.

Scott Disick: Calling Kourtney Kardashian From Rehab? Begging For Another Chance?

Last week, we reported that Scott Disick has checked into rehab to be treated for alcohol addiction for the sixth time.

Sources say Disick was motivated by Lamar Odom’s near-fatal overdose, as well as his desire to secure partial custody of his kids, and is actually taking his treatment seriously this time. It also seems that his time away from the bottle has caused “the Lord” to re-evaluate his priorities.

Cheating allegations and Scott’s years of hard partying led Kourtney Kardashian to dump him back in July, but the newly-sober Scott is reportedly desperate to win his baby mama back.

In fact, Radar Online is reporting that Disick has been calling Kourtney from rehab and begging her to give their relationship another chance. 

“Scott has been calling Kourtney from rehab,” says one insider. “The last time he phoned her, he was really upset and emotional.

“He has been going through withdrawal. It’s been really hard on him, and he just needs to know everything is going to be okay and needs assurances.”

Kourtney was reportedly hesitant to answer Scott’s phone calls, but did so because she thought it might help him in his treatment.

“Kourtney only did it to begin with because she knew Scott was going through the beginning period of rehab and wanted to know about what was going on with Lamar,” says the source.

“Scott’s been really worried about him and asking a lot of questions. He thought he was dead.”

The insider says that after learning the latest news about Odom, Disick began “begging Kourtney for another chance.” Unfortunately, the source says, “She’s not giving him any answers right now.”

Lamar Odom: Chance of Survival 50/50 After Multiple Organs Fail

Nearly 24 hours after Lamar Odom was found unconscious in his VIP suite at the Love Ranch brothel in Nevada, doctors are still delivering mostly bad news about his condition.

First we learned that Odom overdosed and that “virtually every drug imaginable was found in his system,” according to hospital insiders.

Shortly thereafter, TMZ reported that an MRI revealed Odom suffered multiple strokes, meaning there’s very likelihood that he’ll fully recover.

Now, sources inside Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas – where Odom’s family and friends have gathered to be by his side – are offering their most grim prognosis yet.

According to TMZ, Lamar’s medical staff has informed his loved ones that the 35-year-old’s chances for survival are about 50/50.

Doctors say four of Lamar’s organs are failing, including his kidneys.

Odom has almost certainly suffered extensive brain damage, but the condition of his other organs makes it difficult to test his brain functioning.

Needless to say, the situation is grim, and the entire Kardashian-Jenner clan has reportedly assembled in Las Vegas to be by Khloe’s side at this unimaginably difficult time. 

The Revereand Jesse Jackson and Kobe Bryant have also visited the hospital in order to pray by their friend’s bedside.

Scott Disick: Totally Lost! Making No Sense! Blowing Any Chance with Kourtney!

Scott Disick briefly looked to be back on track and focusing on his kids, but sources close to the reality star say he’s once again adrift and rudderless.

Scott “is totally lost right now,” an inside source tells People. “He’s just going from place to place, doing things that aren’t making sense.”

“He’s recording a video. No, wait, he’s building his brand. He’s hanging out with brand new people. That’s sort of his issue in general.”

The long and short of it? “He can’t focus.”

Disick sparked buzz that he’s starring in French Montana’s music video last week, and he’s been spotted partying with Kylie Jenner.

There is also talk of Disick dating Kimberly Stewart, his ex’s former best friend, though Stewart’s mother denied the rumor recently.

Speaking of his longtime partner, just last month we were hearing talk of Disick getting back with Kourtney Kardashian, or trying to.

That ship has sailed, sources say.

“The thought was that he was going to try for a reconciliation, but now it seems like that’s not going to happen,” one insider explains.

“He isn’t working on himself, which is one of the conditions he has to meet for Kourtney to take him back … he’s not working on himself at all.”

“Everyone is very worried about him,” the source adds. “Whatever his problems are with the family, no one wants him to be hurt.”

The parents of three broke up in early summer after he was photographed partying in Monte Carlo with another woman, Chloe Bartoli.

People close to the hard-partying Lord Disick say they don’t even know if he’s sober or drinking again, and that uncertainty isn’t good.

“He’s not talking about it. Scott has in the past been willing to talk about what he’s going through, seeking advice,” the source says.

“He’s not seeking advice from anyone anymore, probably because he knows he’s not going to like the advice that we give him.”

Kourtney, meanwhile, is doing quite well, and seems to show us every day just how little she regrets kicking Scott to the curb …
