Julia Louis-Dreyfus Thanks Fans for Support, Has Coolest Son Ever

Julia Louis-Dreyfus has the love and support of Hollywood, her fans and, most adorably of all, her son.

On Thursday, the record-breaking Emmy Award winner shocked the entertainment industry when she confirmed she’s been diagnosed with breast cancer.

The beloved star learned of this illness the day after she won yet another Lead Actress in a Comedy trophy for her hilarious role on Veep.

“1 in 8 women get breast cancer. Today, I’m the one,” Dreyfus wrote on Twitter, adding a plug for universal health care to her stunning admission:

“The good news is that I have the most glorious group of supportive and caring family and friends, and fantastic insurance through my union.

“The bad news is that not all women are so lucky, so let’s fight all cancers and make universal health care a reality.”

Dreyfus husband Brad Hall have two sons together, one of whom shared a precious tribute to his famous mother one day after the world learned of her diagnosis.

“I couldn’t be more thankful for the outpouring of support for my mom yesterday,” Tweeted Henry Hall, along with a throwback photo that he pretended was taken last year.

“Love to you all,” he concluded.

Responded Dreyfus:

“I’m thankful, too. And also thankful for my dear boy with good manners.”

Sort of wants to make you melt into a million pieces right there on the spot, doesn’t it?

It hasn’t just been her immediate family members who has reached out to Dreyfus, of course.

You’d be hard pressed to find a more respected television actress in Hollywood.

“@OfficialJLD so sorry you have to go thru this, pal, but I know you will prevail. We are here if/when you need and we love you,” Tweeted Jason Alexander, who co-starred for years opposite Dreyfus on Seinfeld.

The legendary actress also received social media support from her Veep cast members Timothy Simons and Diedrich Bader, who play Jonah Ryan and Bill Ericsson, respectively.

“All our prayers for a complete recovery If love is any help at all, know that you are truly loved,” Bader tweeted.

And Simons:

“Julia is one of the most talented, most giving, most empathetic people that I’ve had the pleasure to meet. That she takes this news and turns it to help others is of no surprise. Get well, Boss. We love you.”

Then there was former Vice President Joe Biden, whose real job Dreyfus has pretended to have on HBO for the past six years.

“We Veeps stick together. Jill and I, and all of the Bidens, are with you, Julia,” Biden wrote, along with a photograph of himself and the actress in sunglasses.

Robin Roberts, meanwhile, is one of several celebrities who have overcome her own breast cancer diagnosis. This is what she wrote in response to the news:

Sending love and prayers to @OfficialJLD…this morn @GMA @DebRobertsABC brings us her story and message about facing breast cancer…as support pours in for the beloved actress.

We send our thoughts and prayers to Dreyfus as well.

Daniel Stern Pens Touching Tribute to John Heard: The Coolest Cat EVER!

Home Alone star Daniel Stern took to Twitter to share an emotional letter to his longtime friend and co-star John Heard, who died Friday.

Stern, 59, told fans that he knew Heard as far back as the early ’70s, long before the movie for which both actors became best known.

Stern played one half of the Wet Bandits, Marv, while Heard played family patriarch Peter McCallister in the 1990 Christmas film classic.

When he heard the sad news that John Heard died suddenly at the age of 72, Stern wrote an emotional letter, which he posted to Twitter.

In it, he detailed their history together and the side of an actor even many longtime fans of his work probably aren’t familiar with.

“John Heard was the coolest cat in New York City for about 10 straight years, 1974-1984,” Stern, who also starred in City Slickers, wrote.

“Ask anybody who was there then. Every actor wanted to be as intense as him, every woman wanted to sleep with him.”

“He was defiant, he was poetic, he was ridiculously generous,” Stern said of his friend, “and he was charismatic as hell.”

Stern explained that he met Heard the day he moved to New York City to become an actor, and that John changed his life as a result.

“John was the very first person I knew to be in a movie,” he wrote. “It had never crossed my mind that that was a thing you could do.”

“I was a theater rat in high school,” Stern says, “and New York only meant trying to be a professional actor in the theater.”

After Heard invited Stern to a showing of his 1977 movie Between the Lines, the Maryland native realized that he, too, could do films.

Early on in his career, Stern and his wife, Laure Mattos, were plagued by financial troubles; Heard helped out whenever he could.

“We were amazed that he had that kind of cash to throw around,” he said of Heard, who frequently treated them to dinners out.

“It was so sweet over the years to have our family and home become a place of ‘normalcy’ in John’s otherwise frenetic life.”

“He so loved having his ‘kid brother’ do good and thrilled at our kids’ accomplishments,” he said of their lasting friendship.

Stern notes that many obituaries have referred to him as “Home Alone actor John Heard” when he was so much more.

As Stern admitted in his letter, which appears below, “What’s funny is I never remember that John is even in that movie.”

“I’ve only ever really watched it once, and he and the family were all so great in it. But we never had any scenes in it together.”

“We only crossed paths on the set once or twice.”

Stern

Even remembering him only as an actor wouldn’t do him justice, his friend said, because of the simple but profound way he lived.

“Nothing was more intense than John’s performance in life,” Stern concluded his tribute. “He lived it hard, fast and fearlessly.”

“He was a romantic and a raconteur.”

“He was as loyal and generous as they come. He was a friend and a brother and a legend in his time. RIP John.”

As for his passing, various reports regarding Heard’s cause of death have surfaced, but nothing has been concluded definitively.

Our thoughts go out to his loved ones and friends at this difficult time, and we thank Daniel for sharing his wonderful letter.

Bride Helps Maid of Honor Get Engaged in Coolest of Ways

A few weeks ago, we shared a wedding video that we guaranteed would make you cry.

We"re now excited to present a wedding video that we guarantee will leave you standing up and cheering.

In the following piece of footage, a woman is on the beach with her bridesmaids and her bouquet, prepared to toss the latter to the former in order to see who will get married next.

Per tradition, of course.

But the bride then stops right before letting go of her flowers.

She proceeds to walk over and hand them to her very best friend, Marcie.

At that point, the groom’s very best friend, Lauren, walked over and got down on one knee to propose.

How cool is that?!? Talk about a selfless act, right?

How many brides and grooms out there would be willing to cede the spotlight on their big day to their friends?

Playing a major role in ceding said spotlight, no less. We love it.

Watch the full video below and ask yourself:

Could you do such a thing for your best friend on your big day?

Weigh that question and check out the romantic couple of minutes now:

Coolest Couple Ever Snaps Engagement Pics at Costco

Parks are nice.

Wineries are beautiful.

There"s something very romantic about the water.

But whatever.

Minnesota couple Karinne Tarshish and Dan Klamet frequent Costco on such a regular basis that they chose to pose for their engagement photos inside one of these super store"s locations in St. Louis.

We"re not joking!

Courtesy of EMMERLEE PHOTOGRAPHY, check out the sweet and hilarious pictures below:

1. A Bundle of Delicious Joy

A bundle of delicious joy

Tarshish explained her motivation for this idea as follows: “Neither of us wanted any engagement photos, because it felt really awkward and forced to us. We barely post any pictures of ourselves online to begin with, and have no framed photos on the walls at home — just artwork. I started joking that the only kind of pictures of us we could do would be of us doing our daily routines.”

2. So Beautiful

So beautiful

The ring is nice, too, of course. (This is Tarshish’s favorite picture from the engagement shoot.)

3. Funny, Yet Meaningful

Funny yet meaningful

“The photos were taken to be funny,” Tarshish told The Huffington Post. “We do love Costco, but that isn’t why we took the photos. We just wanted to do something that our friends and family would enjoy.”

4. Such Fools

Such fools

Tarshish and Klamet are scheduled to marry on October 15, 2016. They told their friends and family members about their engagement on April Fool’s Day. We really like these two.

5. Crazy in Love, Not Actually Crazy

Crazy in love not actually crazy

Tarshish says the chain will play no role in their big day. They aren’t going to get a “tattoo of the Costco logo” or anything.

And there go some great deals!

Coolest Grandfather in History Drinks Beer with No Hands

Hey, what are you doing over there?

Playing a game of Beer Pong? Of Flip Cup? Of Quarters? Of Kings?

That"s cool and all. It"s just not nearly as cool as what the 60-year old grandfather shows his step-children in the following video.

He may not be over drinking beer out of a plastic cup, but he"s very much over doing it in any sort of old fashion way.

Forget ping pong balls. Forget bottle caps. Forget any sort of change. Heck, forget using one"s hands in order to gulp down some suds.

Wait… what?!?

Oh, yes, you read that correctly. The footage featured here depicts a man doing what has become known online as "Beer Yoga."

He places a full cup on his head, he contorts his body in numerous positions, he does take a few minutes… but then he downs the drink without the use of his hands.

Or his arms. Or his feet. Or of any appendages at all.

The clip comes to us from our viral friends at MyFanatic and, simply put, it"s totally awesome.

No offense to your grandfather. He"s probably a very, very nice man. But is NOT the coolest grandfather in human history. He simply can"t be.

Because that honor belongs to the dude doing his amazing thing here:

Coolest Teacher Ever Dresses as Drake, Goes All "Hotline Bling" on Students

A few months ago, we introduced readers to the hottest math teacher on the planet.

Now, it"s time to meet the coolest math teacher on the planet.

We don"t know his name, but we do know his games – and it"s this: dress as Drake for Halloween. But just not any form of Drake.

The really awkward Drake from the music video for "Hotline Bling."

And then, of course, actually dance like Drake from this same weird music video in order to complete the Halloween costume.

“My Pre Calc Teacher Is Drake From Hotline Bling For Halloween,” wrote a student on Twitter, linking to video of her teacher getting down like his (non) badass self.

The footage has been re-Tweeted over 40,000 times in just a few days, and reaction from social media users has included:

  • k but that teacher who was Hotline Bling Drake for Halloween is a) fine af and b) cute af for doing the dance for his students.

  • still not over that teacher doing the "hotline bling" dance though.

  • Believe me when I say that the pre-calc teacher dancing to Drake is my favorite thing on the internet.

Critics have accused Drake of looking like an awkward white dude in the "Hotline Bling" video, but perhaps this was his goal all along:

Give actual awkward white dudes a chance to go viral by dancing just like him for a classroom full of appreciative students.

In that case… goal accomplished! Thanks, Drake! Check out this amazing footage now.

A man named Trevor Frost was working for Science Magazine this week on a nature assignment, when he shared on Instagram one of the coolest scariest animal videos we’ve ever seen.

He was filming crocodiles when he came across an example of just how strong their tails are and, well, you’ve just gotta see it to believe it (below)!!!

Friends, sorry it took me a day longer to get this video out to you; I was on a one day assignment for @sciencemagazine and had limited access to Internet. But here it is!!! Crocodiles have incredibly strong tails. Their tails propel them in the water like torpedoes from a submarine. In fact, as you see here, their tails are so strong that they can propel their entire body out of the water. Crocodiles are so cool. Stay tuned for more amazing crocodile photos and videos. @eddiebauer #liveyouradventureA video posted by Trevor Frost (@tbfrost) on Sep 11, 2015 at 5:58am PDT

WHAT. THE. WHAT?!?!?!

Done. Literally done. Actively locking all the doors and windows and never leaving the privacy of home ever again.
