Kourtney Kardashian Dresses Like Michael Jackson, Earns Internet Ire
The Kardashians are apparently intent on raising the dead this year for Halloween.
We mean this almost literally.
Earlier this week, we shared a couple photos of Kim Kardashian dressed as Aaliyah, a beloved R&B singer who died in a plane crash back in 2001.
Kardashian was dragged pretty hard online for this Halloween costume, considering the tragic way Aaliyah died and the fact that Aaliyah was African-American.
Kim, of course, is not.
Hence, the charge of cultural appropriation.
Now, Kim has posted a picture of herself dressed as Madonna, which is random but not offensive. The Internet doesn’t seem to care much about this ensemble.
The same, though, cannot be said for her sister’s costume.
As you can see above and below, Kourtney Kardashian went out for a night on the town dressed up like Michael Jackson, circa 1991.
Does Kourtney pull off the look pretty well? Yes.
But is this a wildly inappropriate costume? Twitter appears to be divided.
According to some critics, Kourtney is also guilty of cultural appropriation because she isn’t African-American like Jackson was and because she isn’t honoring his culture here…
… she’s just exploiting it for the sake of a few laughs.
To other critics, it’s simply sacrilegious that someone such as Kourtney Kardashian would even pretend to be Michael Jackson.
We’re talking about the most famous and popular solo artist all time and then we’re talking about… Kourtney Kardashian.
“omg,” wrote one Twitter user. “Michael must b turning over in his grave at the thought of this costume.”
Adds another hater of the outfit:
“Michael Jackson was a music legend and a father who died in tragic fashion. This is an insult to his memory.”
This isn’t the first time a member of the Kardashian family or Jenner family has gotten in trouble for trying to take advantage of a dead musician.
Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner were roasted online earlier this year when they sold T-shirts that featured their likeness superimposed over photos of iconic stars such as Tupac Shakur.
It was one of the silliest things any celebrities has ever done, to be honest.
Does Kourtney deserve to receive criticism for this MJ ensemble?
What about Kim’s admitted theme of “musical legends” for her many Halloween costumes this year?
Is the Internet making much ado over very little? Or should the Kardashians treat these musicians with more respect?

Billie Lourd Dresses as Princess Leia, Honors Carrie Fisher
During a special 40th anniversary celebration in honor of the Star Wars saga this morning, Billie Lourd got up on stage in Orlando and delivered a powerful speech about her mom.
While dressed as Princess Leia.
The event – attended by such stars as Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and director George Lucas – was billed as a look back at various stories and memories related to the beloved franchise.
But it was a panel was dedicated to the late Carrie Fisher that drew the most attention.
Especially afterward, once word of Lourd’s speech spread across the Internet.
Fisher, of course, portrayed Leia in multiple Star Wars movies.
She died of a heart attack at the age of 60 in late December, a stunning and sad development that continues to affect all her knew her well.
“She could hold her own against anything,” Lucas said of Fisher this morning.
“She wore a dress through the whole thing, but she was the toughest one of the group. And that’s the key to Carrie being able to play that part. It was a hard part to play, and she pulled it off brilliantly.
“And it really shows the level of her talent. And at the same time, she was fun to be with.”
Incredibly (and tragically), Fisher’s famous mother, actress Debbie Reynolds, died one day after her daughter.
The two were honored together last month in a public memorial service.
“There are not many people like her, one in a billion. We’ll all love her forever and ever,” Lucas added.
And then Lourd was called on to say a few words.
“My mom used to say she never knew where Princess Leia ended and Carrie Fisher began,”said Lourd, donning a dress that paid homage to her mother’s Leia costume.
“She was imperfect in many ways, but her imperfections and willingness to speak about them are what made her more than perfect.”
Continued the young actress, speaking to a sold-out crowd:
“She taught me three important things. One thing all mothers should teach their daughters.”
Lourd then recited Leia’s legendary “help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi” monologue:
Years ago, you served my father in the Clone Wars. Now he begs you to help him in his struggle against the Empire. I regret that I am unable to present my father’s request to you in person, but my ship has fallen under attack and I’m afraid my mission to bring you to Alderaan has failed.
I have placed information vital to the survival of the Rebellion into the memory systems of this R2 unit. My father will know how to retrieve it. You must see this droid safely delivered to him on Alderaan. This is our most desperate hour.
Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi. You’re my only hope.
Concluded Lourd:
“I learned by knowing her that the the most evolved person is seemingly a contradiction:
“They’re both the strongest and the most vulnerable person in the room. And that was her. That is Leia. Thank you for loving her and carrying on what she stands for. I am beyond grateful.”
Since her mother’s unexpected passing, Lourd has made various statements on social media and shared a couple precious throwback photos.
“Receiving all of your prayers and kind words over the past week has given me strength during a time I thought strength could not exist,” she wrote on January 2, breaking her silence over losing both her mother and grandmother.
She added of Reynolds and Fisher:
“There are no words to express how much I will miss my Abadaba and my own and only Momby.
“Your love and support means the world to me.”
Out of respect for Fisher and her family, we’ve transcribed Lourd’s entire speech below:
My mom used to say she never knew where princess Leia ended and Carrie Fisher began. She went from being an unknown actress, the daughter of Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher, to Princess Leia — a character synonymous with the idea of the ultimate strong woman.
A soldier. A fighter. A beyond-capable, independent, sensible woman in control of her own destiny. A rebel who resisted the norm. She was imperfect in many ways, but her imperfections and willingness to speak about them are what made her more than perfect.
My mom, like Leia, was never afraid to speak her mind and say things that might have made most people uncomfortable – but not me, and not you.
That is why she loved you, because you accepted and embraced all of her; the strong soldier of a woman she was, and also the vulnerable side of her, who often openly fought her own dark side, knowing early on that we all have a dark side of our own, whatever it may be.
But she knew it wasn’t about the fight you were fighting, but how you fought it; the way you resisted.
No one could have known what this once-little dream of a movie would eventually become, what it would be to millions worldwide, mostly not her. But in our world, Star Wars ultimately became a religion, our family, and a way of life. And I wanted to be here with all of you because I know that many of you feel the same way.
When she surrounded herself with fans at celebrations like this, she never felt more at home. She could spend hours talking to people and learning about their lives, and how Star Wars and Leia touched them in the same way it touched us.
If left to her own devices, she would have always been the last person to leave at a convention center, having met and shared a Carrie moment with every single person there.
Nothing about her was a performance. She loved you, she loved these movies, she loved the people she got to make them with, and she loved this incredible character she got to create — this force called Leia.
She taught me three important things: one thing all mothers should teach their daughters.
Secondly, she taught me that if life isn’t funny, then it’s just true, and that is unacceptable.
And finally, I learned by knowing her that the most evolved person is seemingly a contradiction: They’re both the strongest and the most vulnerable person in the room.
And that was her. That is Leia. Thank you for loving her and carrying on what she stands for. I am beyond grateful.

Vanessa Grimaldi Poses with Wedding Dresses, Roils Bachelor Nation
Looks like The Bachelor spoilers may have nailed it again.
Top contender Vanessa Grimaldi sure caused a stir on Monday when she advanced to the final two on the popular ABC reality show …
… and went wedding dress shopping in real life.
Vanessa posed for a photo at Le Chateau in Montreal, the Quebec metropolis where she lives, with creative coordinator Holly Wiancko.
Racks of wedding and bridesmaids dresses flanked the cute pair, stirring up obvious speculation as to whether she wins The Bachelor.
“A good way to end the week at the office! #thebachelor,” Wiancko captioned the photo on her Instagram, which quickly went viral.
Did Vanessa and her friend just reveal the biggest Bachelor spoilers since Kaitlyn Bristowe’s Snapchatted in bed with Shawn Booth?
The explanation they’re going with is … not exactly.
Sources connected to Le Chateau tell TMZ that the shop invited Vanessa to check out their new line and to discuss a potential partnership.
In other words, it’s not personal, just business.
Vanessa is a beautiful young woman who is now incredibly visible thanks to the show, so of course the boutique would love her involvement.
Win or lose at the final rose ceremony, Le Chateau would clearly win by having the gorgeous special education teacher in their corner.
Grimaldi didn’t try on anything from the bridal section, though we’re guessing that if Nick Viall does propose, they would not be opposed.
Le Chateau also posted another pic of her.
Wearing a cute pink sweater on March 6, the caption wrote: “#spotted @vanessagrimaldi30 lounging in our ribbed crew neck sweater.”
“Shop link in bio. #regram #thebachelor.”
Last night, The Bachelor confirmed what we pretty much expected, as Nick Viall set Rachel Lindsay free to become the next Bachelorette.
As such, Raven Gates and Vanessa are the final two ladies vying for Nick’s final rose and a Neil Lane engagement ring next Monday.
Vanessa, the trilingual, traditional, family oriented, far-too-normal-for-this-process educator has been perhaps the favorite all along.
Many people believed she would outlast both Rachel and Arkansas boutique owner Raven even before the wedding dress picture.
Despite the believable explanation – she was just in a store she might work with soon, calm the heck down – some fans remain upset.
“You just ruined the whole show,” complained one fan, unaware that spoilers are a thing and assuming she’s The Bachelor winner.
“WTF spoiler alert!” added another.
Another Bachelor fan took the over-dramatic reaction cake, however, responding the Instagram photo above with these four words:
“I want to die.”
Apparently that fan must be a card-carrying member of Hoxie Nation and pulling hard for Raven Gates to capture Nick’s final rose in six nights.
All we can tell you for sure is this: Vanessa hasn’t won the show until she wins the show, and even then, weddings are far from a guarantee.
The franchise’s track record has improved in recent years, but that bar was set very low, and actual marriages are still a rare occurrence.

Man Dresses as Insanely Long CVS Receipt, Wins Halloween
There are few mysteries in life as confounding as this one:
Why does CVS issue ridiculously long receipts for every single purchase? Especially after claiming back in 2013 that it would stop doing so?
We now have an answer:
It has all been a build-up so that a man named Jeremy Schneider could dress as a 12-foot long CVS receipt for Halloween and win the holiday forever.
As you can see in the video above, however, Jeremy does more than merely dress up as a CVS receipt.
He enters an actual CVS location and gets handed an actual receipt by an employee there.
An employee who can’t help but crack up over what she sees in front of her, of course.
And, yes, the receipt is as hilariously and pointlessly long as always.
Here is a photo of Schneider earning the 2016 Halloween Champion crown. A job very well done by him, we must say.
The previous contender for this honor was a 10-year old boy who went to school late last week dressed as Donald Trump’s hair.
Yes, just his hair. Complete with a giant Make America Great Again baseball cap on top of this amazing creation:
On the flip side, the person who came in last place for Best Halloween Costume of 2016 also came in first place for Most Disgraceful and Racist Halloween Costume of 2016.

We refer, of course, to the person who attended a University of Wisconsin football game dressed as Donald Trump, carrying a noose that he placed around the neck of a friend in a Barack Obama mask.
We’re not kidding.

10-Year Old Dresses as Donald Trump"s Hair for Halloween

But you no longer own Halloween.
Yes, sure, you may dress like an old lady sometimes and like the insides of the human body at other times, but 10-year old Gage DeVader went out this year for the holiday as Donald Trump.
Sorry, not Donald Trump. That costume idea would not be remotely original in 2016.
He went out as Donald Trump’s HAIR.
The costume was designed by the boy’s mother, Jessica DeVader, and it has become the talk of the Internet.
DeVader, who hails from Kansas, told BuzzFeed that she glued fake grass table skirts in sections around an umbrella to achieve the perfect comb-over look.
It really is amazing.
Here’s a snapshot from the back:
The enormous Make America Great Again baseball cap? Which is the icing on this creative sundae? It was constructed out of three sheets of poster board.
And if you study these photos closely enough, you’ll see another wrinkle Jessica threw in to honor Trump. Although honor may be the wrong word choice here…
“Gage’s shirt pays homage to Trump’s orange face!” DeVader says.
This isn’t the first Halloween that Gage has gone all out for Halloween, either.
“I would say our fun with Halloween began from the start,” DeVader told Buzzfeed. “I just wanted my son to learn to embrace his uniqueness and individuality.
“Every year we come up with a ridiculous idea and he just goes for it!”

Josh Duggar Dresses Like Cow to Score Free Chick-fil-A, Family Actually Willing to Appear With Him
If there’s any special occasion for which the Duggars will actually be seen in public with their personal family pariah, this would be it!
The confessed child molester dressed like a cow to score some free food for his family at Chick-fil-a for Cow Appreciation Day Tuesday.
As you can see, he’s looking positively bovine.
Family friend Sierra Jo Dominguez posted the above photo of the huge family on Instagram, posing next to the chain’s famous mascot.
Josh is all smiles – as is his beautiful, long-suffering wife Anna – in a white t-shirt colored with black marker to make cute cow-like spots.
Such a nice, wholesome family outing, right?
We may be reading too much into the disgraced one’s appearance there, but it comes on the heels of reports of Josh making a TV apology.
Is this part of the subtle but deliberate image rehabilitation campaign that will result in Duggar’s return to TLC in the immediate future?
Who knows, but he didn’t go last year …
In any case, a good time was had by all.
Dominguez, as devoted fans who watch Jill and Jessa: Counting On online may know, also serves as the Duggar family party planner.
Yup, she’s the one behind their big “gender reveal” parties, hoedowns, and all the things the Arkansans pull off so seamlessly on TLC.
For the uninitiated, Chick-fil-A’s Cow Appreciation Day awards free chicken to anyone who dresses like a cow and visits their establishment.
It’s like Chipotle’s free burrito for people wrapping themselves in foil on Halloween, only with more anti-LGBT sentiment among management.
Just kidding. That was out of bounds. Maybe.
Anyway, the Duggars love them some Chick-fil-A, which was forced to feed literally dozens of them thanks to Josh in livestock attire.
Duggar fans also know about their collective sweet tooth – probably the one vice that doesn’t fall on the list of things banned in the family.
The family scored 168 free Krispy Kreme donuts last year when they dressed up like pirates for “International Talk Like a Pirate Day.”
They also made headlines recently with a trip to a frozen yogurt store … that was immediately deluged with online criticism by association.
Apparently an endorsement of an establishment from Jim Bob and Michelle cuts both ways, as reaction can be polarizing, to put it mildly.
These things happen in Duggar Nation.
