Bill Cosby Impresses Fellow Inmates, Earns Prison Nickname

Well, folks, it’s been about 24 hours since Bill Cosby was sentenced to prison and taken into custody.

It’s a positive development for just about everyone in the world, with the exceptions of Cosby himself and maybe a handful of wacky sweater enthusiasts.

Considering he appears to have raped scores of women over the course of several decades, Cosby’s 3-10 year sentence is appallingly light, but on the plus side, he’s 81, so there’s a good chance he’s tasted the sweet pudding pop of freedom for the last time.

Anyway, millions are rightly celebrating Cosby’s incarceration today, and we salute his victims for their bravery in coming forward and their persistence in seeing that this monster was brought to justice.

Another group that’s rightly jazzed (Get it? Because he likes jazz?) about the Cos being locked away are his fellow inmates.

Despite what Orange Is the New Black might have led you to believe, minimum security prisons are actually rather boring places where amusingly topical monologues are few and far between.

So the arrival of a celebrity inmate — particularly one as famous as Bill Cosby — is highly anticipated occasion.

“Prisoners are excited that Cosby is there,” a source close to the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections tells Radar Online.

“Even the toughest cellblocks showed respect for him.”

And it seems they’ve even done the disgraced comic the honor of granting him a prison nickname.

“They’re calling him the ‘OG’ — lingo for ‘original gangster,’” the insider claims.

We’re hoping that nickname is delivered with a healthy dose of irony, as Cosby spent the past 50 years chiding black men for the way they dress by day and drugging and raping women by night.

There’s nothing remotely gangster about either of those activities.

Earlier today, we reported that Cosby is trying to beg his way out of prison by claiming that he’s in danger due to his celebrity status.

Fortunately, prison authorities anticipated that argument, and they essentially shot it down with a statement issued moments ago:

“We are taking all of the necessary precautions to ensure Mr. Cosby’s safety and general welfare in our institution,” Corrections Secretary John Wetzel said.

“The long-term goal is for him to be placed in the general population to receive the programming required during his incarceration.”

Sounds like you may want to get comfortable, Mr. Cosby.

You’re gonna be in there longer than Theo got grounded when he took the car without permission. Zab-zippity!

Woman Gives Birth in Chick-Fil-A, Earns Baby Free Nuggets for Life

A child born inside a San Antonio-area Chick-Fil-A this week may very well be spending a lot of time in this establishment as she gets older.

Allow us to explain…

mim, kid

On Tuesday night, a woman named Falon Griffin started to feel intense contractions and therefore headed to University Hospital with her husband, Robert.

Prior to their arrival, though, the couple met a family friend in the parking lot of a Chick-Fil-A in order to drop off their two oldest daughters while Falon went and gave birth.

But the mother-to-be felt a strong urge to use the bathroom there, knocking on the door of the closed restaurant and convincing an employee to let her in.

“I didn’t know I was going to have a baby in there! I was going to the restroom,” Falon said afterward to KSAT-TV.

Indeed, not long after entering the stall, Falon knew she wasn’t going to make it to the hospital.

Her baby girl was on the way!

dad, kid

“I’m about to dial 911, I open the door and she’s just screaming,” said Brenda Enriquez, the Chick-Fil-A store director who was on the premises at the time.

Enriquez proceeded to grab some towels, scream for Robert Griffin and tell him to go to work. He’d have to deliver his own child.

“I looked at her and said, ‘We’re going to do it right here, right now,"” Robert said.

Falon said her and her baby, who the couple named Gracelyn, were considered high-risk throughout her pregnancy. So she was understandably nervous.

“I’m in excruciating pain. He’s not skilled. I don’t know what’s about to happen right now. I don’t know if she’s going to come out alive,” Falon recounts of her feelings during labor.

shes ok

Robert, however, was up for the task… and then some.

Not only did he deliver his third kid safely, he did so after a very scary moment that could have resulted in her death.

“I stopped her at her shoulders because I saw what looked to be a white collar around her neck, and it was the cord that had been wrapped around her neck twice,” Robert says.

Yet he managed to successfully unwrap it and bring his daughter into the world in one, healthy piece.

“All I cared about at the end of the day was the baby was breathing, and by the time they [first responders] arrived, she was pink, thankfully for those blankets for keeping her warm,” Falon says.

EMS arrived about 10 minutes after Gracelyn was born and transported mother and baby to the hospital.

newborn

But that isn’t where this amazing story ends, not quite.

Gracelyn will now have Chick-Fil-A for life, the chain has announed, at no cost — and she’s guaranteed her first job at age 14!

The franchise owners are already helping plan her first birthday party at their restaurant as well.

Talk about a lucky little nugget!

American Hunter"s Giraffe Trophy Kill Earns International Outrage

People love non-human animals. That’s why the entire internet was on edge as a racoon scaled a skyscraper just a few weeks ago.

But some people enjoy hunting and killing wildlife so much that they wll travel halfway across the world to hunt a rare, exotic species and share those photos.

One big game hunter’s photos of her posing with a giraffe’s corpse have gone viral as people condemn her. But is there more to this story?

In 2017, Tess Thompson Talley traveled to Africa where she hunted and killed an 18-year-old, 4,000 pound giraffe.

She then posed with the body for a series of haunting, even going so far as to “hug” the dead male in a particularly ghoulish image.

Though she shared the pictures of her “dream hunt” in 2017, the images are going viral now after they were shared by an African Twitter account.

Accompanying two photos of the Kentucky native, the outlet shamed her in an inflammatory tweet.

“White american savage who is partly a neanderthal comes to Africa and shoot down a very rare black giraffe,” the tweet begins.

That is deliberately confrontational language — but we should point out that genetic studies do confirm that almost all humans, save portions of Africans, have neanderthal ancestry.

The tweet continues, saying that this horror comes “courtesy of South Africa stupidity.”

That is likely a reference to the fact that a few countries, including South Africa, permit a degree of big game hunting.

“Her name is Tess Thompson Talley,” the tweet concludes. “Please share.”

A follow-up tweet is a little less inflammatory.

“If our so called governments can’t care for our wildlife,” the Africa Digest account writes. “Then its time we stand up and responsibility of our continent, lands, resources and wildlife.”

“Share share share! and lets have a united voice against pillage of Africa,” the tweet says. “It’s the only home we have”

The horrifying photos of Talley’s gruesome “dream hunt” went viral, with people sharing their horror and sorrow.

Even celebrities added their voices to the mix.

On Instagram, actress Debra Messing writes: “Tess Thompson Talley from Nippa, Kentucky is a disgusting, vile, amoral, heartless, selfish murderer.”

“With joy in her black heart and a beaming smile,” Messing describes. “She lies next to the dead carcass of a *rare* black giraffe in South Africa.”

While we don’t necessarily object to her characterization of Talley, there is some question as to the rarity of this particular species of giraffe.

“Giraffes are the epitome of gentle giants,” Messing says. “They glide across the plains, like liquid; awe inspiring creatures who spend their days eating leaves and caring for their young.”

“How DARE she,” Messing continues. “A rare animal that will be extinct by the time her grandchildren can go and gutlessly sit in the brush with a scope and pull a trigger.”

In case you missed the grim news, yes, some giraffe species have quietly and quickly slipped from being safe to being critically endangered.

“It does not take skill to have a ranger track a giraffe for you, and with the aid of night vision glasses and a scope, pull a trigger like some Carnival game,” Messing says.

“If you need to eat a giraffe? Get a bow and arrow and make it at least a fair fight,” Messing suggests.

Most would argue that the but I need to hunt for food argument goes out the window when you book a flight from Kentucky to South Africa.

“I am disgusted by people like you Tess,” Messing says. “You reek of privilege and ignorance. Shame on you. And your husband Andrew Claude. Unconscionable. Irreparable damage. Irreplaceable beauty.”

When Tess Thompson Talley first shared the image, she wrote about it.

“Prayers for my once in a lifetime dream hunt came true today!” Talley announced. “Spotted this rare black giraffe bull and stalked him for quite a while.”

Like the sorts of stories you usually only hear in people’s engagement stories or a serial killer’s diary, she wrote about when she “knew.”

“I knew it was the one,” Talley says. “He was over 18 years old, 4000 lbs. and was blessed to be able to get 2000 lbs. of meat from him.”

Since her story went viral, Talley has defended her actions, saying that her hunt aids conservation efforts and that killing this older giraffe was doing a favor for the species.

It is true that giraffes are endangered, with overall populations having plummeted by a staggering 40% in the past 25 years.

This particular species, however, seems to be doing okay.

“The giraffe in the photo,” Julian Fennessy of the Giraffe Conservation Foundation says. “Is of the South African species Giraffa giraffe, which are not rare – they are increasing in the wild.”

That’s good news for the South African giraffe.

However, as many have pointed out, the ethical concerns of big game hunting extend far beyond whether or not a species is in danger.

There are issues of cruelty. And, when a white person from a global superpower visits Africa, a continent ravaged by vicious colonialism and genocide, there’s possibly a racist angle.

Killing for conservation is a complicated issue but … wow, the glee in thos photos is a little unsettling.

These stories are never pleasant.

Robert De Niro Says "F-ck Trump," Earns Extended Ovation

At the 2018 Tony Awards, The Band"s Visit won Best Musical; Angels in America  won Best Revival of a Play; and Andrew Garfield won Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play.

Yet none of these productions or performers is what people are talking about the day after the ceremony.

That"s because one of the all-time greatest actors took to the stage at one point and delivered a two-word message about the 45th President of the United States.

"F-ck Trump," Robert DeNiro said as soon as he walked to the microphone to introduce Bruce Springsteen.

The full quote, to be accurate, went as follows:

“I’m going to say this, f-ck Trump. It’s no longer just down with Trump, it’s f-ck Trump.”

The legendary actor’s remarks earned a standing ovation from most of the audience, while a certain word included in them was bleeped out for those watching from home.

(Although we"ve posted the uncensored version below.)

DeNiro then reacted to his own diss as follows:

It"s unclear exactly which actions by Trump prompted the star"s simple and pointed criticism, although the President spent all weekend hurling insults at the Prime Minister of Canada.

Just three days before uttering this curse word in front of a national audience, DeNiro reportedly slammed the Commander-in-Chief while speaking at the ceremony for the Jimmy and Rosemary Breslin “American Writer Award” at the Tweed Courthouse in Lower Manhattan.

Sources say he told a group of high school students there that Trump is a purveyor of ” bullsh-t."

In March, the actor called Trump an “idiot” who “lacks any sense of humanity or compassion.”

Expect conservatives to say this sort of comment helps explain why Trump was elected in the first place, labeling Hollywood stars as "elites" who are "out of touch with mainstream Americans."

And expect liberals to stand up and applaud DeNiro, as they did on Sunday night.

In other words:

The comment won"t really change a thing.

But you can watch the Oscar winner make it and then react below:

Miley Cyrus Gets Spanked by Easter Bunny, Earns Internet Ire

When people say that “He is Risen” in regard to Easter, they are talking about the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

But when Miley Cyrus implies that something is rising, she’s referring to the penis of her male social media followers in reaction to a series of raunchy images.

So we assume, at least.

We say this because the singer has shared a number of tantalizing pictures in celebration of this holy holiday, using the occasion of Easter to dress in very little clothing and to act all naughty with a certain famous bunny.

Miley didn’t include any captions with any of these seductive pieces of footage…

… but what is there to really say about them?

The snapshots hearken back to Miley’s X-rated, foam-finger waving days of 2013, which is fine and dandy.

Heck, it’s likely even encouraged by many fans out there, many of whom can’t get enough of Cyrus showing a lot of skin.

The thing is, Easter is, like, a really big deal for Christians.

It’s all about Jesus’ rebirth and it means a lot and it may not be exactly proper for Cyrus to recognize it by acting like a Playboy bunny while frolicking with the Easter bunny.

“I hope we get another Bangerz album out of this,” wrote one social media user in response to this pictorial, while another joked:

“And the Easter Bunny is officially ruined for kids who follow her account.”

Others, however, took a bit more offense to Cyrus going all NC-17 on Easter of all days.

“Glad to see what a “supposedly religious” holiday looks like lol, smh I cant,” complained one commenter.

Cyrus, meanwhile, isn’t the only celebrity to come under fire for her Easter message.

Kim Kardashian actually kept her clothes on this past Sunday, but she still earned a great deal of backlash for sharing a photo of a cross with diamonds all around it.

In Kim’s case, critics were aghast that she chose to flaunt her wealth on this holiest of days.

For Cyrus, folks are peeved that she is flaunting a few other things.

And we bet occasional friend Justin Bieber is among those peeved.

“Jesus has changed my life,” Bieber wrote for his Easter message, which was a tad different from that of Miley.

He added this week:

“Easter is not about a bunny, it’s a reminder that my Jesus died on the cross for my sins and then rose from the dead defeating death!”

Or, you know, it’s a reminder that Miley Cyrus has a nice body.

One of those two things.

Anna Duggar Ditches Josh For Valentine"s Day, Earns Applause From Fans

In the two years since the world learned that Josh Duggar molested five young girls, his wife, Anna Duggar has stood by his side.

Needless to say, she’s taken quite a bit of flak for that decision.

In fact, when Anna welcomed her fifth child in September of last year, many went so far as to claim that she’s as bad as Josh for putting yet another child in harm’s way.

We understand the critics’ frustration, but it’s important to remember that Anna is one of Josh’s many victims, and she lives in a world where divorce is believed to be on par with murder.

So we’re willing to give her the benefit of the doubt and assume that she feels she has no choice but to be loyal to her disgraced husband.

But just as fans had finally resigned themselves to the situation, Anna began to give indications that she’s through putting up with Josh’s crap.

The mother of five posted the above photo of her children earlier this week, and it’s prompted speculation that she and Josh are on the outs.

For one thing, the image was posted on Valentine’s Day, and yet Josh is nowhere to be seen.

Since Anna very rarely posts on social media these days, and since the Duggars’ love for Valentine’s Day is well-known the widespread theory is that this is Anna’s way of sending a subtle message about the state of her marriage.

“Such cute kiddos, what a shame that Turd is their father,” one follower commented.

“Anna literally hasn’t posted [on Instagram] for two years and then she’s posted three times in the last week. I bet something’s going on behind the scenes, the Duggars are wily like that.”

Sadly, it’s still highly unlikely that Anna will ever leave Josh.

“[The Duggars] always taught their kids that divorce was never an option,” a source previously told People.

“They never even thought about cheating. But that’s not how life works.”

Well, Josh certainly thought about cheating, but those who know the couple best say the possibility of leaving him has still never crossed Anna’s mind.

Justin Timberlake Earns Internet Outrage for Tweet, Movie Role

A long time ago, Justin Timberlake brought sexy back.

But now many Internet users are wishing the singer and occasional actor would take a recent career decision back; not to mention a brand new, misguided Tweet.

Allow us to explain…

On Sunday night, Timberlake shared a seemingly sweet and romantic photo on Instagram.

It featured the artist and his wife, Jessica Biel, who was nominated at the Golden Globes for her role in USA Network’s The Sinner.

“Here we come!! And DAMN, my wife is hot! #TIMESUP  #whywewearblack,” wrote Justin as a caption.

Both of those hashtags were a reference to the Golden Globes this year serving as a platform for celebrities to stick up for women in the industry and victims of sexual misconduct in general.

Which is why some critics thought JT should have perhaps not used this photo and this occasion to label his wife as “hot.”

Granted, Jessica Biel is very hot.

But this simply may not have been the ideal time for Timberlake to objectify his wife, that’s all we’re saying.

Moreover, as many on the World Wide Web have pointed out, Timberlake will be starring in Woody Allen’s next movie, Wonder Wheel.

The controversial director is well known for having married his ex-wife’s adopted daughter, Soon-Yi Previn.

The 82-year-old is also accused of sexual abuse by his adopted daughter, Dylan Farrow.

For this reason, a slew of stars has refused to work with Allen…and a slew of online commentators have called Timberlake out here for some pretty galling hypocrisy.

Wrote one individual:

“Wearing black, good. Talking about it, good. Next step, don’t participate in projects that profit men like Woody Allen. Have fun at the party. THEN keep striving for better.”

And another dragged Timberlake even harder for his past, Tweeting:

“You starred in Woody Allen’s new movie. You built a career on malicious misogyny towards Britney Spears. You left Janet Jackson out to dry. This is pure performative fraud.”

Yikes, huh?

down on JT

Timberlake has not responded to any of these scathing accusations or remarks.

We doubt he will, either.

Most folks out there think Justin is a good guy, but this is a prime example of how everyone is under an extreme microscope these days.

And, as Rose McGown thinks, you can’t just wear black and include a few hashtags and then pat yourself on the back.

If you want to see change in the world, you must take some actual action in order to enact it.

Colin Kaepernick: GQ Man Of The Year 2017 Earns Praise, Outrage!

Aside from actual politicians, there have been few public figures more polarizing in the last couple of years than Colin Kaepernick.

We live in a time of celebrities accused of abuse and sexual assault and of total lunatics holding political office. But there are still millions of people riled up about Colin Kaepernick not standing for the National Anthem.

So when GQ made Colin Kaepernick their Man Of The Year for 2017, they knew that they were stirring the pot a little.

First of all, this is not even Colin Kaepernick’s first GQ cover.

But last time, he was considerably less controversial. He was mostly known for, what? Being hot?

Like, a third of football players are known for that. Because they’re athletes.

But Colin became controversial in the fall of 2016, when he knelt rather than stood for the US National Anthem.

Though the Anthem has been played at football games (and other sport events), the tradition of NFL players standing for the Anthem dates back to … 2009.

Colin Kaepernick made it clear at the time that he was protesting against the unjust killings, by police officers, of unarmed black people throughout the US. We’ve all heard story after story of this happening, with some of the victims being children.

Kaepernick also made it clear that the fact that the perpetrators of these killings then getting paid leave and so frequently (almost always) never seeing the inside of a jail cell despite having killed someone and abused their position was further cause for protest.

Colin Kaepernick also pledged $ 1 million to charities that help communities in need, putting his money where his mouth is in his effort to make the world a better place.

And he started a movement of other athletes — at the professional level, but also of young children — kneeling to protest against injustice. Other, white NFL players knelt in solidarity with their teammates and with the countless others who face systemic oppression.

But in the course of the 2016 election season and the controversy, sometimes that message got muddled. So Kapernick was happy to be featured by GQ in order to “reclaim the narrative of his protest.”

GQ writes about Colin Kaepernick:

“He’s been vilified by millions and locked out of the NFL — all because he took a knee to protest police brutality.”

That’s true.

“Colin Kaepernick’s determined stand puts him in rare company in sports history: Muhammad Ali, Jackie Robinson — athletes who risked everything to make a difference.”

He’ll be remembered in history for it, that’s for sure.

“He is still, to this day, one of the most gifted quarterbacks on earth.”

(I’m not even a sports fan by any measure, but even I knew that)

“And yet he has been locked out of the game he loves — blackballed — because of one simple gesture: He knelt during the playing of our national anthem.”

He’s suing over that, by the way, accusing the NFL of collusion with team owners.

“And he did it for a clear reason, one that has been lost in the yearlong storm that followed.”

We’ll get to that confusion in a moment, but yeah, the original meaning has been somewhat lost.

But GQ reminds us of the original intent:

“He did it to protest systemic oppression and, more specifically, as he said repeatedly at the time, police brutality toward black people.”

That’s important, folks.

It’s easy to forget — in light of the current political climate and Trump, a sitting President, referring to kneeling American athletes as “sons of bitches” — that Kaepernick’s

Though one could argue that his protest is against much of what Donald Trump and his voter base represent: white supremacy, unfettered violence, and a level of feverish nationalism that actual patriots find horrifying.

But Obama was President (remember that? It feels like that was years ago, not 10 months) when Kaepernick first took a knee.

It was Trump who made this — all of the kneeling athletes — about himself.

The result is that some diehard Trump fans are boycotting the NFL.

Many of those who are outraged seem to be fuming that these successful athletes are protesting, believing that it’s “anti-American” … even though, historically, protesting injustice is one of the most quintessentially American things that one can do.

In many cases, racism seems to be an underlying factor behind the anger being directed at NFL players. That’s fitting, since institutionalized racism and the resulting violence is what those players who take a knee are protesting in the first place.

(GQ is only the latest magazine to make Kaepernick’s protest its cover story)

As you can probably imagine, they’re not loving that Colin Kaepernick is GQ‘s Man Of The Year.

As you can also probably imagine, the responses are pretty divided along party lines.

The decision has earned mostly praise form the political Left and scorn from the political Right.

Some have professed a more nuanced view, citing that they support Colin Kaepernick’s right to protest … but don’t think that he makes the best symbol of a push for change.

Why? Because he didn’t vote in the 2016 election. Some say that it’s hypocritical for him to lose his career fighting for justice but not wield his sovereign rights as a citizen to actually fight injustice at the polls.

Like we said, he’s a very polarizing guy.

Kourtney Kardashian Dresses Like Michael Jackson, Earns Internet Ire

The Kardashians are apparently intent on raising the dead this year for Halloween.

We mean this almost literally.

Earlier this week, we shared a couple photos of Kim Kardashian dressed as Aaliyah, a beloved R&B singer who died in a plane crash back in 2001.

Kardashian was dragged pretty hard online for this Halloween costume, considering the tragic way Aaliyah died and the fact that Aaliyah was African-American.

Kim, of course, is not.

Hence, the charge of cultural appropriation.

Now, Kim has posted a picture of herself dressed as Madonna, which is random but not offensive. The Internet doesn’t seem to care much about this ensemble.

The same, though, cannot be said for her sister’s costume.

As you can see above and below, Kourtney Kardashian went out for a night on the town dressed up like Michael Jackson, circa 1991.

Does Kourtney pull off the look pretty well? Yes.

But is this a wildly inappropriate costume? Twitter appears to be divided.

According to some critics, Kourtney is also guilty of cultural appropriation because she isn’t African-American like Jackson was and because she isn’t honoring his culture here…

… she’s just exploiting it for the sake of a few laughs.

To other critics, it’s simply sacrilegious that someone such as Kourtney Kardashian would even pretend to be Michael Jackson.

We’re talking about the most famous and popular solo artist all time and then we’re talking about… Kourtney Kardashian.

“omg,” wrote one Twitter user. “Michael must b turning over in his grave at the thought of this costume.”

Adds another hater of the outfit:

“Michael Jackson was a music legend and a father who died in tragic fashion. This is an insult to his memory.”

This isn’t the first time a member of the Kardashian family or Jenner family has gotten in trouble for trying to take advantage of a dead musician.

Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner were roasted online earlier this year when they sold T-shirts that featured their likeness superimposed over photos of iconic stars such as Tupac Shakur.

It was one of the silliest things any celebrities has ever done, to be honest.

Does Kourtney deserve to receive criticism for this MJ ensemble?

What about Kim’s admitted theme of “musical legends” for her many Halloween costumes this year?

Is the Internet making much ado over very little? Or should the Kardashians treat these musicians with more respect?

Cutest 9-Year Old EVER Earns Golden Buzzer on AGT

Hold on to your jaws, dear readers.

Because we have a feeling they are about to drop to the floor. Hard.

On Tuesday night, a nine-year old named Celine Tam took to the America’s Got Talent stage, receiving a great deal of love from the crowd before even opening her mouth because attendees remembered her impressive first audition.

For that previous performance, Tam showed no fear, belting out a flawless rendition of Celine Dion"s iconic "My Heart Will Go On."

This time around, the young singer got a bit more personal with her selection.

"Tonight I"m going to be singing a song for my little sister," said Tam, whose younger sibling is named Dion because their parents are huge fans of the aforementioned Canadian artist.

"It"s about how we love each other. We"re sisters and we"re best friends," Tam added.

From there, Celine earned yet another standing ovation via her take on Michael Bolton"s "How Am I Supposed to Love Without You?"

“The crowd is going crazy for you!” exclaimed Heidi Klum in response, prior to asking guest judge Laverne Cox to weigh in.

"I just want to eat you up. You were so adorable and so cute and your voice is amazing," the Orange Is the New Black star raved, adding in admiration:

"You are so talented. Thank you so much. I am really blown away."

And, with that, Cox hit the coveted Golden Buzzer, shocking Celine, releasing a rain of gold confetti onto the stage and moving the nine-year old on to the live rounds.

Was this honor deserved? We sure think so.

The Emoji Movie Earns 0% on Rotten Tomatoes. This is Why.

The Emoji Movie is about a city called Textopolis in which every emoji lives.

It tells the tale of one emoji named Gene who is determined to only have one facial expression, just like his animated friends.

And it may be the worst movie of all-time.

We’re not being hyperbolic.

The movie review website Rotten Tomatoes, which cobbles together critiques from professionals around the country, has given it a 0 percent.

This means that not a single movie critic in the world has a positive thing to say about The Emoji Movi.

Not. A. Single. One.

How can a film flop so badly? What could make it such an abhorrent experience?

Let’s turn to the experts, shall we? Scroll down for a look at why critics think The Emoji Movi is even worse than After Earth.

There could be far worse ways to spend 86 minutes. But maybe, just maybe, it’d be the better choice to spend those 86 minutes outside, or reading a book, or talking face-to-face with another human being.

Because The Emoji Movie could not be more meh. – Katie Walsh, The Los Angeles Times.

The Emoji Movie shows how low Hollywood will sink for easy.– Jordan Hoffman, The New York Daily News.

This movie’s “believe in yourself” message is borne out, in a perverse way, by the very fact that it even exists. And yet the whole thing remains nakedly idiotic. – Glenn Kenny, The New York Times.

Excuse me while I scan my phone for the vomit emoji. – Mara Reinstein, MaraMovies.com.

Do yourself a favor, and swipe left on this one. – Mike Reyes, CinemaBlend.com.

As far as expanding on smartphone-related IP, this is an even weaker starting point than Sony Animation’s recent The Angry Birds Movie. – Vadim Rizov, AV Club.

Looking back, it seems so obvious. We should have seen The Emoji Movie’s utter awfulness coming.

But as with so many other things in 2017, hindsight is not so much 20/20 as a giant regret generator. – Alissa Wilkinson, Vox.

A film as mindless and disposable as most smartphone apps (and nowhere near as addictive), “The Emoji Movie” is a calamity that inadvertently shows how difficult it is to pull off the witty, imaginative world-building that Pixar makes seem so breezy. – Tim Grierson, Screen International.

The good news is The Emoji Movie, co-written and directed by Tony Leondis, is not evil. The bad news is it’s just mediocre, or in emoji parlance, simply “meh.” – Lindsey Bahr, The Associated Press.

Hear that? It’s the end of the world. – Johnny Oleksinski, The New York Post.

Incredibly, there appears to have been one thing worse than the actual The Emoji Movie:

The marketing campaign for The Emoji Movie.

See what we mean below… and prepare to recoil in horror!
