Loser Designer Blasts Selena Gomez as "Ugly," Fans React in Horror
You can say many things about Selena Gomez.
You can say you don’t like her music because you’re entitled to that opinion.
You can say you she has bad taste in men because Justin Bieber has never treated her well.
You can say she makes poor decisions with her hairstyle at times.
But you cannot say what Stefano Gabbana just said about the singer, not if you want to avoid very deserved backlash from millions of people on social media.
The Italian designer, who co-founded the fashion label label Dolce & Gabbana, went out of his way on Instagram this week to attack Gomez.
In the comments of a photo on The Catwalk Italia’s Instagram account, Gabbana wrote the following alongside a collage of Selena picture:
È proprio brutta!!!
This translates, very simply and extremely rudely, to: She’s so ugly.
The insult was many things; unprovoked, cruel, sexist and objectively untrue.
And while Gomez has thus far taken the high road, refusing to even acknowledge Gabbana’s existence, her friends and fans online have been unable to show similar restraint.
“@stefanobabbana you’re tired and over. your homophobic, misogynistic, body-shaming existence will not thrive in 2018,” Tweeted 13 Reasons Why actor Tommy Dorfman, who plays Ryan Shaver in the Netflix drama.
He added:
“it is no longer tolerable or chic. please take many seats.”
And then there was this from a Gomez follower:
“Shame on you for online bullying. Doesn’t matter if 1 million people see it or 1 person, it’s bullying. It’s wrong.”
And then this from another Gomez follower, who kept it short and simple and supportive:
“We love this beautiful queen.”
Julia Michaels, a singer-songwriter and close friend of Selena’s tweeted:
“@selenagomez just here to tell you that you are one of the most beautiful women I know, inside and out. I love you always.”
This really is true.
While the merits of what Gabbana said are really beside the point, it might as well be pointed out while we’re here:
Selena Gomez is a very pretty young woman. Full stop. This statement really can’t be debated.
Over the years, Gabbana has bullied stars on social media numerous times, including Kate Mossand Victoria Beckham.
Most recently, he went after Kate Moss on the same Catwalk Italia Instagram page, dissing a Saint Laurent look she was wearing … just because.
In 2015, celebrities such as Elton John, Courtney Love and Ricky Martin boycotted the fashion brand over insensitive comments Dolce and Gabbana made about IVF and LGBTQ families.
Moreover, the brand released a $ 245 “#BoycottDolceGabbana” graphic T-shirt inspired by the negative response to First Lady Melania Trump wearing their designs.
In other words: it courts controversy like this.
So the best thing to do is what Selena has done, which is to totally and completely ignore the misguided and pathetic messenger.
This will be the last time we write about him.

Designer Kate Spade"s Suicide Note Tells Daughter, "Ask Daddy, I Love You"
Kate Spade’s suicide note was addressed directly to her 13-year-old daughter … TMZ has learned. The note was found on a bed near her body and, according to law enforcement sources it read, “Bea – I have always loved you. This is not your fault.…
Kate Spade Dead of Apparent Suicide, Fashion Designer Was 55
Shocking news from the world of fashion today, as several media outlets have now confirmed that iconic designer Kate Spade has been found dead at the age of 55.
According to a police report obtained by TMZ, Spade hanged herself in her Park Avenue home.
Her body was reportedly discovered this morning by a housekeeper.
Law enforcement sources say Spade was pronounced dead on the scene.
They also confirm that she left a note, but no information about the content has been released to the public.
With the help of her husband Andy — who is the brother of comedian David Spade — Kate launched Kate Spade Handbags in 1993.
The brand was an immediate success, and Kate eventually branched out into clothing and jewelry design.
In 2007, Spade sold her company to Coach in a $ 2.4 billion deal.
After taking some time off to focus on raising her child, Kate returned to the fashion world last year with a new line called Frances Valentine.
The brand was named after her 13-year-old daughter.
Born Katherine Brosnahan in Kansas City in 1962, Kate began designing while still a student at the University of Arizona.
It was there that she met her husband while working in a clothing store.
Together, they decided to launch a business and eventually grew Kate’s eponymous company into one of the most recognized fashion brands in the world.
At its peak, Kate Spade New York had more than 140 retail shops in the US and 175 more internationally.
In addition to being sister-in-law to David, Kate was aunt to actress Rachel Brosnahan, star of Amazon’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
Fans of the handbag maven are baffled, as with her wildly successful business empire and loving, close-knit family, from the outside, Kate appeared to be the woman who had it all.
There’s been no word yet from Kate’s inner circle, but friends and neighbors say the family showed no signs of turmoil.
Our thoughts go out to Kate’s loved ones during this tremendously difficult time.
We’ll have further updates on this tragic story as more information becomes available.

Khloe Kardashian: Accused by Designer of Stealing Designs, Legal Bullying
Khloe Kardashian’s legal team sent a cease and desist letter to a small, independent designer, instructing her to stop accusing Khloe of stealing her work.
It looks like that’s blown up in Khloe’s face. Majorly.
If there’s one thing that truly unites the Kardashian family, it’s a fondness for cultural appropriation.
From cornrows to huge lips to big butt culture to … everything, it seems that the Kardashians scarcely have to see an element of black culture before they decide to make it their own.
But it seems that the appropriation isn’t limited to Kylie Jenner’s ever-changing body,
Designer Destiney Bleu, after repeatedly calling out Khloe and accusing her of ripping off her designs.
She did this so much that Khloe’s legal team sent a nasty cease-and-desist order.
Of course, most small-time designers would be quaking in their boots when threatened with a rich person’s lawsuit.
Even if you’re in the right, just letting a lawsuit drag out in court can completely exhaust someone’s finances. You can win the case but have your life ruined.
Destiney has majorly clapped back, and no matter which of them you believe about the propietary issues, these words are absolutely worth reading.
We wonder if Khloe is regretting any of that now?
Though the response letter comes from Destiney’s legal representative, it seems pretty clear that Destiney’s words are involved.
Because the letter is decidedly not limited to legal jargon.
“It is not illegal for Khloe to copy Destiney’s designs — it is just tacky, disrespectful, and in bad taste,” says Destiney’s scathing response letter, as reported by TooFab.
“There is also something deeply uncomfortable about someone with Khloe’s wealth and power appropriating designs and fashion directly from a black woman with a small business without crediting her, making cheap knockoffs, and then attempting to threaten her into silence.”
Hold on a moment, we need to print out that line and frame it and hang it on our wall.
But the letter continues.
“You should be ashamed.”
It’s clear that we’re all meant to know exactly what Khloe’s lawyers are demanding from Destiney.
“You demand that Destiney ‘cease and desist’ her ‘false statements,’ ‘make an appropriate corrective statement,’ and ‘that [Destiney’s] trolls stop attacking [Khloe Kardashian’s] social media channels."”
How exactly is Destiney expected to stop other people from independently tweeting at Khloe?
With magic? Sorry, Khloe’s legal team, but even if you happen to think that all black people look alike, Destiney isn’t Azealia Banks.
“However, your attempt to censor Destiney with these meritless threats will have the opposite of its intended effect. Destiney will not surrender to your bullying.”
That lawyer’s absolutely right about the opposite effect business, because if Khloe had never tried to shut down Destiney’s statements, a lot of people might never have heard about this.
And, by the way, Destiney’s also happy to provide evidence of correspondences she had, which she says prove that Khloe had access to Destiney’s samples … before going on to copy them.
How sad must it be to be rich and famous but still feel the need to pluck ideas from others and claim them as your own?
We don’t know how this legal drama will unfold, but we’re sure glad that Destiney’s words are being heard.
Maybe it’ll be a boost to her business.
