Katharine McPhee: Blasted By Taylor Hicks Following Lame Attempt at Shade!
In case you’ve forgotten that there was a point where people actually gave a sh-t about American Idol, allow us to take you back to a simpler time and place, when it was Ryan Seacrest, not Mark Zuckerberg, who decided the outcome of our country’s most hotly-contested elections.
The year was 2006, and Taylor Hicks was making headlines for being young, yet looking old, not unlike how Katharine McPhee is now making headlines for looking young and marrying old.
Anyway, Taylor and Katharine were neck-and-neck throughout their time on the show, but in the end, he came away with the coveted title of American Idol champion.
The win didn’t exactly do wonders for his career, but we’ll get to that later.
McPhee and Hicks are back in the news today thanks to a mild feud that’s revealed some long-simmering tension.
As part of a voter registration drive leading up to November’s midterm elections, McPhee tweeted a photo of herself standing next to Hicks and captioned it with a not-so-subtle jab at her former rival:
“Voting matters,” the actress captioned the pic, complete with upside-down smiley face emoji.
As you can see, Hicks was quick to fire back with a jab of his own, tweeting:
“You’re right, voting DOES matter! But you’re a little late to the party, Kat.”
Not exactly Biggie vs. Pac, but a mildly entertaining beef made all the more amusing by the fact that neither Hicks nor McPhee has been lighting the charts on fire in the years since their Idol season.
In fact, neither of them has scored a hit.
Katharine’s gone on to a more high-profile career thanks to roles on Scorpion and other shows that play ‘round-the-clock in retirement home common rooms.
These days she’s best known for her engagement to David Foster, as well as for her creepy tendency to refer to his daughters as her kids, even though two of them are older than Katharine.
As for Taylor … well, he’s not exactly killing the game, but he has scored a gig hosting something called State Plate on something called the INSP channel.
The funniest part of all of this is that Taylor and Kat’s season introduced the world to Chris Daughtry and Kellie Pickler, both of whom went on to more successful careers.
Perhaps one of those two should sound off on this situation.
“You’re right, Taylor and Kat, voting does matter … but not as much as how you spend your money,” Daughtry could tweet.
Now, that would be a valuable lesson on the inner-workings of both the music industry and American democracy.

Donald Trump Interrupts The Bachelorette, Gets Blasted by Furious Fans
Just because you follow The Bachelorette Spoilers and know how things end doesn"t mean that you don"t want to enjoy the episode in peace.
But, this week, The Bachelorette was interrupted by the exact opposite of peace — it was an announcement of Donald Trump"s Supreme Court pick.
And the Bachelor Nation was pissed.
Chris Harrison warned viewers in advance that Trump would be preempting the broadcast.
But the Bachelor Nation has been waiting for ages to watch Colton Underwood tell Becca Kufrin that he"s a virgin.
Most people get their breaking news from Twitter and their in-depth coverage from online articles these days, so it was understandably difficult for many people to understand why they needed to waste 20 minutes of their lives.
And, as you may have heard, Trump isn"t exactly hitting any record highs for Presidential popularity.
So the Bachelor Nation took to Instagram to vent their fury and frustration. Take a look:
1. Fans were pissed
2. Is this evidence of Trump hypocrisy?
3. This has happened before
4. The language became colorful
5. Trump was not what the Bachelor Nation wanted to see
6. This is what you’d call a swing voter

Amber Heard: BLASTED for Racist Tweet About Housekeepers
Amber Heard would like to make two things very clear:
1. She is not racist.
2. The country has a major problem with racism.
The actress found herself at the center of a controversy related to this pair of issues on Tuesday, following a Tweet she wrote in response to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) setting up a road block near her home.
This is what the 32-year old star wrote shortly after midnight today:
“Just heard there’s an ICE checkpoint in hollywood, a few blocks from where I live. Everyone better give their housekeepers, nannies and landscapers a ride home tonight,” Tweeted Heard.
Her point here, of course, was that many housekeepers, nannies and landscapers are undocumented immigrants and that ICE may detain and deport them.
Is she wrong? Probably not, as a sort of extreme generalization.
But we can see why the Tweet caused some uproar, can’t you?
“I can see where you were going but somewhere along the way you took a wrong turn. Delete this sis,” one social media wrote.
Heard did delete the post, but she didn’t apologize for it.
Instead, she simply made the same point in a different way.
“With this human rights crisis being so politicized, it is hard to make a simple statement w/out it being used to distract from the real issues,” she explained, adding:
“Its hard for everyone to not be negatively affected by this subject n some way.”
Heard, of course, is talking about the ongoing debate over immigration, which has been spurred on by the separation of children from their parents at the border.
She later added:
“Checkpoints on your home streets….Is this the ‘great’ America we’re aiming for?” Heard wondered on Twitter as well, 10 minutes after she published her incendiary tweet.
“Raids, fences and police-state like checkpoints don’t feel like the ‘land of the free’ our immigrant ancestors built.”
Heard shared a slew of photos on her Instagram page last week while attending a #KeepFamiliesTogether rally in Marcelino Serna Port of Entry in Texas, her home state.
One image of the actress depicts her sporting a sign that read:
“Apartheid was legal. Holocaust was legal. Legality is a matter of power, not justice.”
She was joined at similar protests around the country by such celebrities as Lena Dunham, Joshua Jackson, Connie Britton, Evan Rachel Wood and Sia.
Speaking to BuzzFeed, Heard – who was born and raised in Austin – burst into tears.
She takes this issue extremely seriously and very personally.
“I was literally and figuratively raised by and with immigrants in my home and heart and life,” she told the website.
Heard, meanwhile, split from Elon Musk last summer, several months after she finalized a very messy divorce from Johnny Depp.

Jeremy Roloff Blasted for "Creepy" Photo of Precious Daughter
You may not believe this one, readers.
We hope you’re sitting down while you peruse the following story about Jeremy Roloff, his daughter Ember and the criticism the reality star is now receiving as the result of the photo he just shared.
First, some background:
Jeremy and Audrey Roloff welcomed Ember into the world in September, a full week after she was due to be born.
They’ve since been very open and candid about their precious child, posting several photos of her each week and giving us updates on what she’s up to, what she can do now, etc.
The kid is a total cutie, there’s no debate about it.
However, in honor of Ember turning nine months old, Jeremy shared a new picture of his first-born.
We’ll simply publish it below and then reveal why Instagram followers have actually taken Jeremy to task for the image and for what Jeremy himself is doing in it.
This is the snapshot:
9 months has come and gone. Do they just continue to get cuter? How does one handle cute aggression ? Because let me tell ya, it’s a real thing! wrote Jeremy as a caption to this photo.
What problem could folks possibly have with it?
For starters, some Little People, Big World viewers wondered whether Audrey ever spends time with her daughter… which is a REALLY weird thing to wonder.
Have you seen all these photos of Audrey and Ember?!?
The main crux of the critiques, though, stem from the placement of Jeremy’s hand.
For real. We’re not kidding.
This is not something that ever would have occurred to us were it not for the social media users who pointed it out.
If you examine this image closely enough, you’ll see Jeremy is holding his child up from underneath.
Again, what’s the big deal, many people out there are likely wondering?
Others, however, are pointing to the “creepy” nature of Jeremy, to be honest and crass, touching his daughter’s private part.
Seriously, this is a real line of criticism. Look here:
And look here, too:
We’re pretty much speechless upon seeing these comments.
Jeremy and Audrey have shown themselves to be nothing but loving parents and we think it says a lot more about these Internet users than about Jeremy if their minds are really going to this “creepy” place.
Thankfully, other Little People, Big World fans have rushed to Jeremy’s defense, posting remarks such as the ones below:
Where do you stand on this suppose controversy?
Is it even a controversy?
Do you really think Jeremy acted inappropriately here?
Or do critics on the Internet need to take a handful of chill pills and just appreciate this image for what it is:
A caring father excitedly sharing a picture of his daughter on the occasion of a quasi birthday.
Truly, relax, people.
Stop parent shaming and get your minds out of the gutter.

Jill Duggar Visits a Mosque for Ramadan, Gets Blasted by Fans: Show Some RESPECT!!
Jill Duggar is going above and beyond to avoid her husband!
Just kidding — though, given Derick Dillard"s latest remarks about trans people, who would blame her?
No, Jill spent some time at a mosque for Ramadan, and fans took her to task for not covering her hair for the visit. Are they right?
In the video that we"ve attached, Jill shows off her visit to a mosque.
"Okay where are we at?"
A hijabi woman beside her (who, we have to say, is in a wonderfully colorful outfit) answers, saying:
"We are at a mosque and we have Iraqi feast for Ramadan. We"re glad to see you here!"
As you probably know, during the holy month of Ramadan, Muslims fast, abstaining from certain activities such as food during the daylight hours.
(People with health restrictions are exempted)
After night falls, however, there is a feast to break the fast. Jill"s companion introduces her to some traditional Iraqi dishes.
The video"s caption reads:
"While Derick was with the men (guys and girls have separate sections), Jill enjoyed some Iraqi food with friends."
That"s great and all, but a number of fans had major concerns about Jill"s hair.
"You shouldn’t go into a mosque not covered out of respect. You also take off your shoes."
They"re not suggesting that Jill don a hijab on a permanent basis, but merely adhere to a dress code.
"She should have had her head covered in a mosque out of respect."
Many houses of worship have dress codes.
"That right there speaks volumes about her respect."
That said, we don"t know if this particular mosque has this concern about guests.
Not all Muslims wear hijabs (or any other hair covering), and some mosques may not enforce a dress code for guests.
There was plenty of addition commentary, including fears that Jill might be proselytizing under very inappropriate circumstances.
"I really hope you aren"t trying to convert Muslims."
That probably wasn"t the case, otherwise, Jill and Dercik would be begging fans for money like they do when they go on missionary trips.
"Of course it’s a PR stunt. Notice they only use these kind of posts when Derick has done something wrong. It absolutely can’t be taken seriously and it’s actually more offensive knowing it’s all an act."
A lot of people share the theory that this is an example of her trying to soften their image after Derick"s repeated homophobic and transphobic rants.
"it’s damage control for her all of her husbands Twitter rants lol"
Others think that it has less to do with Derick and more to do with the couple"s shared desire for attention.
"It’s all for attention to make themselves look better ! It’s all for show. They have one path only ! Have you not seen the hate he spews on his social media ??"
Others, however, were full of compliments for Jill.
"Awesome that you love and honor others in this way."
They even defended her from some (fellow) fundamentalists who thought that Jill was consorting with "the enemy."
"People forget it is possible to show compassion without compromising your own convictions."
Others offered Jill kudos for attending the feast instead of just poting a few empty words.
"I will say, Jill put her money where her mouth is with this one and I think it’s great. The more barriers we break down the better."
True!
"People!!! It"s between Jill & God what, where & why she was doing what she was. You don"t have to agree with someone on religion, or anything for that matter, to show a little kindness & love."
Accurate.
"There are a lot of things between Islam and Christianity that are quite similar. The big difference is the role of Jesus Christ. And as followers of Jesus Christ, we know that we follow the true faith. But that doesn’t mean we should judge others. It’s not our place. Have a great and blessed day!"
Jesus is considered a holy man within Islam.
Others took Jill"s more conservative critics to task.
"Seriously? People are blasting OTHER Christians for joining in with our brothers and sisters of another Abrahamic faith? (Abrahamic faiths being Christianity, Islam, and Judaism)."
it"s true. In fact, despite the academic differences, many have wondered if Judaism, Christianity, and Islam shouldn"t be considered different branches of the same faith.
Muslims themselves appreciated the post.
"You are an amazing human being and I love that you are sharing Ramadan with us. Ramadan is a holy month full of love and charity. You are an amazing woman Jill, and as a Muslim American I love y’all & yalls show."
While many people"s concerns over Jill"s lack of hair-covering was probably genuine and came from a good place, it is important to not speak over people.
It doesn"t sound like Jill did anything wrong … in this one, particular instance.
Shame Jill when she deserves it, but only when she deserves it.

Tonya Harding Blasted for Fake Crying, Diva Attitude on DWTS!
On the most recent episode of Dancing With The Stars, infamous Olympics legend Tonya Harding pulled off the Foxtrot.
Her performance was pretty good, but it wasn’t perfect. And Tonya broke down in tears afterwards.
An insider’s report says that Tonya’s competition think that her tears are fake, and are more than ready for her to go.
RadarOnline reports that Tonya Harding’s fake tears were the last straw for the other dancers.
“Tonya’s tears just did not sit well with the other contestants.”
They were not charmed. And she was apparently already on their last nerve.
“And they are already getting fed up with her theatricals.”
Okay, so “theatricals” is a nonsense word. A person is theatrical. A theatrical person might display theatrics.
“Everyone is saying that she completely faked her crying episode on-screen during the premiere.”
And apparenlty they all know what she’s really like, behind the scenes.
“Because she is not that emotional in real life.”
It was more than just crocodile tears that rubbed them the wrong way.
“She is such a huge drama queen and it seems that she believes she is the star of the show already.”
And the insider says that she believes that for a not-too-bad reason.
“The producers seem to agree.”
They’ve been putting her front and center in their promos.
“Because they are using her imagery for most of the promotion of this current season.”
Weird, consider that Adam Rippon is the huge star from, you know, this century.
But that’s none of our business, we guess.
Apparently, Tonya’s “theatricals” and other antics have people thoroughly exhasperated.
“Everyone is already just so sick of her.”
Perhaps they wouldn’t mind her so much if she were dominating the competition?
But she hasn’t been doing too badly. She hasn’t been sent home, anyway. Yet.
“And the other contestants all agree that they all need to up their game.”
They apparently have one goal in mind — aside from victory.
“And get her eliminated as soon as possible.”
Hey, it’s a competition. This sounds like fair motivation.
We will play devil’s advocate for a moment.
Let us consider, for example, that it is easy for people to hold a negative opinion of Tonya.
She is, of course, implicated in the infamous attack on Nancy Kerrigan.
Honestly, among younger people, many would not even remember her name were it not for that legacy — and the recent I, Tonya film on the subject.
So it is easy to see how people might view Tonya through the filter of their preconceptions.
At the same time … Tonya’s reputation probably didn’t come out of nowhere.
Tonya Harding has been disgraced ever since Nancy Kerrigan’s attack.
She’s had a number of less-than-ideal moments in terms of public relations and optics. She may have been hoping that Dancing With The Stars would be her redemption arc.
But the show itself will thrive on drama.
The drama of her winning or losing will work just as well. And if she’s poorly behaved behind the scenes … that honestly helps drive up interest in the show.
But if Tonya continues to be seen as difficult to work with … she could be looking at the end of her TV career.

Blake Shelton Blasted for Hypocrisy, Cheating by Miranda Lambert Ex
Recently, Blake Shelton shaded ex Miranda Lambert on Twitter with an unkind subtweet, seeming to gloat over the “karma” of
Well Blake isn’t Miranda’s only ex. Jeff Allen, whom she dated for years before she ever met Blake,
He’s since deleted the tweet, but you have to read his impassioned words.
Blake Shelton’s tweet, which got the ball rolling, reads:
“Been taking the high road for a long time…”
By which he means that he hasn’t spoken as much as he could have about how things ended between him and Miranda.
“I almost gave up.”
Now he starts his bit.
“But I can finally see something on the horizon up there!!”
He’s referring to the accusations that Miranda Lambert stole her new boyfriend from his wife.
“Wait!! Could it be?! Yep!! It’s karma!!”
Oh boy.
Jeff Allen tweeted, writing words that he must have been sitting on for years and years.
“You know, i’ve always given you the benefit of the doubt and chalked it up to just being human.”
You can feel his anger in the now-deleted tweet.
“But you must be one arrogant SOB to pop off something like this.”
And here comes the accusation:
“When I know damn good and well you were cheating on your wife and Miranda was cheating on me when you two started up.”
Jeff Allen dated Miranda Lambert for about three years before they broke up and she dated — and later married — Blake Shelton.
Allen has since deleted that tweet, but he did tweet this:
“I kept my mouth shut for 13 years.”
That’s a long time to hold onto something like this.
But he, if you can imagine, apologizes for his tweet.
“Sorry, his karma tweet rubbed me wrong.”
As well it should have. It certainly looked like hypocritical gloating.
“All of this is pointless.”
If you believe all of the accusations, Miranda Lambert cheated on Jeff Allen with Blake Shelton, who was also cheating.
Then, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert allegedly both cheated on each other, though the Country community seemed to side with Blake.
Then, Blake and Gwen Stefani bonded over both having been cheated on. At the time, they were both judges or coaches or whatever on The Voice.
Since then, Miranda spent over two years with Anderson East.
But now, she’s accused of “stealing” Evan Felker from his wife.
And yes, Miranda has been called out on social media by a very unhappy Mrs. Felker.
All of that alleged cheating is in the past, but that doesn’t mean that it’s going to be smooth sailing for Gwen and Blake from here on out.
Gwen Stefani has only had a few serious relationships in her life. She takes cheating very seriously.
Is she going to kick Blake to the curb when she realizes that he’s a huge hypocrite who used her heartbreak to bond with her?
Or is she so besotted that she’s going to keep going and perhaps even marry Blake … and only break things off if and when he cheats on her?
No one deserves that kind of heartbreak.
It may be that Miranda Lambert is, as some accuse her of being, a “serial cheater.” But she certainly has not stolen anyone’s husband.
Those men, if the allegations are true, have made their own choices.
And Blake was one of those men. It sounds like Jeff Allen was totally justified in tweeting what he wrote.

Duggar Family Blasted by Fans for Promoting Deadly Parenting Practices
Brace yourselves, folks. This is an upsetting story. Even in the context of the Duggar family.
Jim Bob and Michelle are promoting an ideology even more controversial than their own strict religious beliefs.
And fans are putting the Duggar family on blast.
The Duggars have been plugging an upcoming Marriage Retreat on social media.
“There is still time to register for this amazing marriage retreat! You will not regret it!”
The retreat is to take place as the Forsyth family’s Fort Rock. The problem is that this even will host Michael Pearl and Debi Pearl, authors of the deeply controversial book, To Train Up Your Child.
The book promotes forcing children to eat their least favorite foods until they “like” them, but also depriving your children of food as punishment.
Most significantly, the book encourages parents to hit their children with various objects, including plastic lengths of pipe. This abusive “training” is supposed to begin in infancy.
The methods described are a recipe for breaking a child and doing psychological damage that will last for a person’s entire life.
Except for those victims who die before they even reach adulthood.
As you can imagine, fans were horrified that the Duggars would condone such egregious child-abuse.
Fans on Facebook who are aware of the Pearls and the infamous “methods” that they promote felt crushed and heartbroken when they saw the announcement.
“This makes me so sad,” one wrote. “The Pearls literally promote hitting babies, actual babies.”
That is true. Among other things, the Pearls recommend the cruel “blanket training” that the Duggars practiced with some of their babies.
“They are child abusers. Why you would promote their evil and cruel practices is mind-boggling.”
Another disappointed Duggar fan commented, writing:
“Ahh yes, Fort Rock. Host and supporters of blatant child abusers.”
It’s difficult to argue with these commenters, even if you wanted to.
The “training” that the Pearls espouse to their followers involves using violence and fear to force children into submission.
And yes, it does begin when children are still babies.
The older that the child becomes, the harsher the physical punishments they recommend. Their pernicious book even suggests that parents might wear an object on their person as a constant reminder of the implied threat.
In recent years, police have linked three separate deaths of children to the Pearls, their book, and their ideology.
In each case, the abusive parents were convicted.
And that, of course, barely scratches the surface on the lifelong psychological damage that years of child abuse can inflict.
This isn’t the only time that the Duggars have been linked to abuse, and we don’t just mean hitting their own children or covering things up after Josh molested his sisters.
Member of the Duggar family’s church have shared shocking tales of abuse.
One survivor from the Duggar family church recently revealed that her father molested her as a child, and that the sexual abuse only stopped when he died.
That should have been the end of her suffering, but it was only part of her story.
Naturally, she suffered PTSD symptoms such as depression. Worse, in the eyes of her church and of her religiously devoted mother, she questioned her family’s beliefs.
She says that the church sent her to a “camp” where she was threatened, terrorized, and tortured for months in an effort to force her to fall into line with the church’s beliefs.
Unfortunately, it isn’t a surprise that the Duggars are promoting extreme ideology. Even though the Pearls recommend violence against children, that’s not a foreign concept to the Duggars.
Michelle has used a ruler to punish her very young children. Both producers and at least one of the Duggar children have mentioned that Jim Bob and Michelle keep a rod with which to hit their children.
There are heartbreaking, evil stories behind so many people’s broken childhoods.
The saddest thing of all of this might be that some people who come from these horrible backgrounds go on to repeat this cycle of violence with their own children.
