Aaron Hernandez Found With Bible Passage Written on Forehead in Blood

As you’ve likely heard by now, former New England Patriots tight end and convicted murderer Aaron Hernnadez was found dead in his prison cell this morning.

Hernandez was found guilty of murdering Odin Lloyd in 2015, but the news of his suicide came on the heels of Hernandez being acquitted for an alleged double murder.

While the 27-year-old was still serving a life sentence for Odin’s murder, the recent not guilty verdict significantly improved the chances that a pending appeals trial would work out in his favor.

The odd timing of the suicide has led to theories that Hernandez was murdered.

It may be quite some time before anything resembling a definitive answer takes shape, but in the meantime, new and disturbing details about the case continue to emerge.

WBZ Boston reported moments ago that Hernandez was found with “John 3:16” scrawled on his forehead in blood, an apparent reference to the oft-quoted Bible verse.

The verse, possibly the most famous in the Bible, reads:

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

WBZ is also reporting that authorities are investigating the possibility that Hernandez was high on synthetic marijuana at the time of his suicide.

In another grim detail, Fox 25 in Boston is reporting that authorities who discovered Hernandez’s body found large amounts of blood smeared on the walls of his cell.

Prior to his arrest, Hernandez was considered one of the top tight ends in the NFL.

In 2011 and 2012, he and Rob Gronkowski made history as the only pair of tight ends to catch five touchdowns each in back-to-back seasons.

They repeated the feat in 2012, once again making history.

Before the start of the 2013 season, Hernandez was arrested by Boston police on suspicion of Odin’s murder.

He would never again be a free man.

As he had an appeal pending at the time of his passing, Hernandez technically died an innocent man in the eyes of the law.

Aaron Hernandez is survived by his 4-year-old daughter, Avielle Janelle Jenkins-Hernandez.

Aaron Hernandez Commits Suicide; The Internet Reacts

As you"ve surely heard by now, former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez was found dead in his prison cell early this morning.

He was acquitted of two counts of murder just last week, but he was convicted for the murder of fellow football player Odin Lloyd in 2015.

Since he was in a cell by himself, and since he was found hanging by a bed sheet, his death seems to be a suicide, but his attorney, along with many others, feel there"s a possibility he could have been murdered.

But whatever caused his death, one thing is certain: people have a whole, whole lot of feelings about it …

1. The Saddest Story

The saddest story

It’s a sad story for sure, but the saddest? Some would argue that Odin Lloyd had a more tragic story.

2. Why Are People Sad?

Why are people sad

It actually probably has less to do with football and more with the fact that, you know, suicide is sad.

3. And the Jokes …

And the jokes

A 13 Reasons Why joke, really? That’s what we’re doing right now?

4. What a Life …

What a life

Hard to believe he was so young.

5. Worse Than Prison

Worse than prison

Well, when you put it like that …

6. It’s Been a Bit of a Day …

Aaron Hernandez: Was He Somehow Murdered?

As previously, Aaron Hernandez is dead.

The former New England Patriots tight end was found hanging from a bed sheet very early Wednesday morning, seemingly the victim of a suicide.

At 27 years old, Hernandez was in jail for life, without the possibility of parole, after his 2015 conviction on first-degree murder charges.

A few hours after Hernandez was discovered in his cell and then pronounced dead at a nearby hospital, The Massachusetts Department of Correction released the following statement:

On April 19, 2017 Aaron Hernandez was discovered hanged in his cell by corrections officers at the Souza Baranowski Correctional Center in Shirley Massachusetts at approximately 3:05 a.m.

Lifesaving techniques were attempted on Mr. Hernandez and he was transported to UMASS Leominster where he was pronounced dead at 4:07 a.m. by a physician at the hospital.

Mr. Hernandez was in a single cell in a general population housing. Mr. Hernandez hanged himself utilizing a bed sheet that he attached to his cell window.

Mr. Hernandez also attempted to block his door from the inside by jamming the door with various items.

The Massachusetts State Police are on scene and the investigation continues. Mr. Hernandez’s next of kin have been notified.

Just a few days ago, Hernandez was acquitted in a separate double murder case, stemming from an incident in 2012 in which he was the passenger in an alleged drive-by shooting.

Cameras caught the disgraced athlete blowing a kiss to his four-year old daughter in the courtroom at one point.

Based on this statement and the apparent evidence inside Hernandez’s jail cell, this tragic case appears to be open and shut.

He clearly killed himself, right?

Not so fast, argues Hernandez’s attorney, Jose Baez.

Having represented Hernandez in the aforementioned double murder trial, Baez responded to this news today by saying the ex-tight end’s family and legal team were “shocked and surprised at the news of Aaron’s death.”

Baez had previously claimed he could get Hernandez’s original murder conviction overturned, and added that he finds it hard to believe Hernandez would take his own life.

“There were no conversations or correspondence from Aaron to his family or legal team that would have indicated anything like this was possible,” Baez continued in the statement.

“Aaron was looking forward to an opportunity for a second chance to prove his innocence.

“We request that authorities conduct a transparent and thorough investigation.”

As cited in the Department of Corrections statement, this had already been the plan.

But Baez is ready to open his own investigation as well, telling TMZ that Hernandez might have been murdered either “by inmates or the folks who run the prison.”

And he isn’t alone in this belief.

Hernandez’s former agent, Brian Murphy, tweeted the following after learning Hernandez was dead.

“Absolutely no chance he took his own life. Chico was not a saint, but my family and I loved him and he would never take his own life.”

ah tweet

Also via Twitter, ESPN writer Josina Anderson has posted two message that reads:

Another former teammate of Aaron Hernandez I spoke with this am having a hard time believing he took his own life: “I am not buying it.”

That former Pats teammate added: “I’ll never believe (Aaron Hernandez) went out that way. Yes he has emotions, but he’s not wired like that.”

We’re guessing more information comes out about the alleged Aaron Hernandez suicide in the coming days and weeks.

We very much understand how difficult it can be to accept that someone you knew well could take his or her own life.

But the only other possibility here is a rather drawn-out, elaborate conspiracy that involves killing someone already sentenced to prison until the day he dies.

We’ll update this story with more news as it breaks.

Aaron Hernandez Commits Suicide in Prison Cell

Aaron Hernandez, the former New England Patriots tight end who was found guilty of first-degree murder in 2015, has committed suicide.

According to prison officials, Hernandez hanged himself via a bed sheet while inside his cell at the Souza Baranowski Correctional Center in Massachusetts.

The 27-year old was just acquitted in a double murder case a few days ago.

His attorney even stating at the time that he believed Hernandez would also see his previous murder conviction overturned.

But it seem apparent that Hernandez did not agree with this assessment.

“Mr. Hernandez was in a single cell in a general population unit.

“Mr. Hernandez [hanged] himself utilizing a bed sheet that he attached to his cell window,” a representative for the Massachusetts Department of Corrections said in a statement.

Added this rep:

“Mr. Hernandez also attempted to block his door from the inside by jamming the door with various items.”

Prison sources say that Hernandez was discovered at 3:05 a.m. on Wednesday morning; those who came across his body tried to save his life at the time.

He was transported to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead at 4:07 a.m.

State Police are investigating the suicide and his family has been notified of what transpired.

Department of Corrections spokesman Christopher Fallon said Hernandez was not on a suicide watch because there was no indication he was considering harming himself.

He had not shown the typical signs of someone considering this course of action.

“If he had made any kind of statement, he would have not been in that unit,’’ Fallon told reporters.

He went on to say that investigators are poring over Hernandez’s cell in Unit G-2, yet thus far have not found anything that resembles a suicide note.

In April of 2015, Hernandez was found guilty by a jury of his peers of first degree in the death of semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd.

The former NFL star was also found guilty on gun and ammunition possession charges, receiving an automatic sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole at the time.

In an e-mail, Patriots spokesman Stacey James wrote that the team (who is actually visiting the White House on Wednesday in celebration of this year’s Super Bowl win) was aware of the death of their former tight end.

“We are aware of the reports, but I don’t anticipate that we will be commenting today,’’ James wrote.

Last Friday, Hernandez was found not guilty for the double murder of two men on a Boston street in 2012.

About a year earlier, however, he received his sentence in the Lloyd murder case.

The victim was a former friend who dated the sister of Hernandez’s longtime fiancee, Shayanna Jenkins; he was shot numerous times by the same kind of gun security footage showed Hernandez possessed.

After the double murder verdicts were read late last week, Hernandez turned to Jenkins and mouthed, “I love you.”

“I am very, very happy,” she later told the press of what had been decided in the courtroom that day.

Hernandez was the father of a four-year old girl with Jenkins and played for the Patriots from 2010 through 2012.

Stevie J vs. Joseline Hernandez: Custody Battle on Tap!

Stevie J and Joseline Hernandez appear to be at peace these days.

It’s miraculous, but true, despite all the ups and downs (and then further ups and more intense downs) the former couple has experienced over the past few years.

Just consider the following photo Joseline shared on Instagram over the weekend:

Look at that!

It’s an actual photo of Stevie and Joseline with their daughter, Bonnie Bella, posing like an actual family.

This is a stunning development for those who watch Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta online and/or have followed the crazy insults and allegations hurled back and forth between Stevie and Joseline since they last broke up.

She’s accused him of being a dead beat child molester.

He’s accused her of taking drugs while pregnant and not being stable enough to raise a child.

It’s gotten very ugly, but Stevie came right out in January and said he was ready to squash the beef with his latest baby mama, who gave birth to little Bonnie in December.

Speaking to TMZ at the time, Stevie said he really wants him and Joseline to “come together” and act as the “best parents” they can be to their daughter.

And, as you can see above, that’s exactly what’s been happening. Hooray!

All this said, however, Stevie and Joseline are about to go from friendly exes to bitter enemies in court this summer.

Attorneys for both Stevie and Joseline have reportedly failed to agree on terms of a deal that would have allowed the ex-lovers to avoid a courtroom.

Therefore, according to NFG-TV, Fulton County Superior Court Judge Jane Barwick has set a June date for the beginning of a custody battle between the reality stars.

It’s unclear exactly what will be at stake, but it’s safe to assume visitation rights and time spent with Bonnie will be the main topic at the center of the trial.

Hernandez may also want to get legal documentation of what Stevie will pay her in child support.

The multi-time father hasn’t always held up his end of this sort of bargain; in January, prosecutors wanted to jail Stevie for $ 1.3 million in unpaid child support.

Overall, Stevie J has fathered six children with five women: Rhonda Henderson, Felicia Stover, Carol Antoinette Bennett, Mimi Faust and Joseline.

Those are a lot of mouths to feed, and there’s no reason to believe that Leave It to Stevie will be renewed by VH1 for a second season.

In other words: it’s unclear how Stevie will keep earning enough money to keep up his child support demands.

He may be posing happily with Joseline and his latest daughter in the social media photo above.

But would anyone be surprised if these two were back to beefing in a matter of seconds days months?

Aaron Hernandez: NOT GUILTY of Double Murder!

Surprising news out of Boston today, as former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez has been acquitted of the 2012 murders of Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado.

A jury delivered the news this afternoon after 37 hours of deliberation.

Hernandez is currently serving a life sentence for the 2013 murder of Odin Lloyd.

In addition to being found not guilty of homicide, Hernandez was acquitted on three counts of armed assault with intent to murder, one count of assault and battery by means of a deadly weapon, and one witness intimidation charge.

In addition to murdering de Abreu and Furtado, Hernandez had been accused of shooting three other men, including his friend Alexander Bradley, who was shot in the face.

Bradley served as the key witness for the prosecution, and much of the defense’s case was based on discrediting him as a career criminal who’s simply looking avoid jail time.

While he beat most of the charges against him, however, Hernandez was found guilty of unlawful possession of a firearm, which likely result in another 3 to five years being added to his sentence.

So don’t go adding him back to your fantasy lineup just yet.

The prosecution alleged that Hernandez shot Furtado and de Abreu to death in a car outside a Boston nightclub after one of them accidentally spilled a drink on him.

They also claimed that his bullets struck three other men who survived, including Bradley, who was in the driver’s seat.

Hernandez’s defense team reportedly argued that it was Bradley, not Hernandez who opened fire on the vehicle that night.

The trial may seem inconsequential, as Hernandez is already serving a life sentence, but experts familiar with the case say the acquittal carried tremendous importance to Hernandez on a personal level.

Witnesses say a tearful Hernandez embraced his legal team when the jury read the verdict.

Attorney Ronald Sullivan said that he was “delighted” by the outcome and that Hernandez was “relieved” by the verdict.

“He was charged for something somebody else did, and that is a weighty burden for anyone to shoulder,” Sullivan told CNN.

Hernandez did not testify in his own defense in either trial.
