Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom: It"s (Respectfully) Over!

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are no longer dating.

But this doesn’t mean that Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are no longer getting along.

The singer and the actor, who had been together for just over a year, issued a joint statement on Tuesday night, updating fans about the change in their relationship status.

They wanted to get out ahead of any chatter that would start running rampant once word of their break-up went viral.

“Before rumors or falsifications get out of hand, we can confirm that Orlando and Katy are taking respectful, loving space at this time,” reads the statement.

Having not been seen in the same place for weeks, due to busy schedules, Perry and Bloom were spotted at the annual Vanity Fair Oscars party on Sunday.

They did not pose together on the red carpet of the event, however.

And while they chatted a bit once inside, a witness tells People Magazine that Katy and Orlando were clearly on different pages during the shindig.

“Katy didn’t spend much time with Orlando,” said the onlooker. “They got together for a photo, but that was about it.”

Perry and Bloom kept their romance quiet for the first few months, but it then became apparent just how serious things were between the stars.

There was once talk of an engagement.

In December, folks started to wonder if Perry was pregnant with Bloom’s baby.

While not exact reason was cited for the split, both Bloom and Perry have been traveling the globe of late. On their own.

The actor, for example, recently returned from a UNICEF mission to Diffa, the southeast region of Niger.

In late January, he also visited a high school in Greater Manchester, England in order to spend time with a drama class taught by his former teacher.

Perry, meanwhile, has been been busy promoting and performing her new single, “Chained to the Rhythm.”

She did so first at the Grammys in Los Angeles last month… and then in Great Britain at the BRIT Awards.

She’ll take to the stage again at the iHeartRadio Music Awards on Sunday in Los Angeles.

In other words: this really may have been a cast of busy schedules breaking a famous couple apart.

Prior to hooking up, Perry was married to Russell Brand, while Bloom was wed to Miranda Kerr, with whom he shares a six-year-old son named Flynn.

As much as we love drama here at The Hollywood Gossip, it doesn’t sound as if we’ll be adding Perry and Bloom to the photo gallery above.

This seems to be a mature, amicable break-up.

Britney Spears to Katy Perry: Suck on This Bible Verse!

Britney Spears has fired back at Katy Perry once again.

At least we’d like to think that’s the case.

On Sunday night, on the red carpet prior to the Grammy Awards, Perry made multiple references to Britney’s 2007 nervous breakdown, which included the time Spears shaved her own head.

When asked by Ryan Seacrest why she took a musical hiatus in 2016, Perry replied:

“It’s called taking care of your mental health… I haven’t shaved my head yet.”

She made a similar comment in an interview with CBS, saying of her new platinum blonde hair color:

“It’s like the last color in the spectrum that I can do. I’ve done all of them and the only thing left to do is shave my head, which I’m really saving for a public breakdown.”

Weird and random, right?

Perry and Spears collaborated on a song back in 2013 and have always been cordial with each other.

Check out the clip below of Perry throwing a bit of shade in Britney’s direction and you’ll understand why fans were angry at Katy:

Britney appeared to shrug off the comment on Instagram, however.

She did not join the #KatyPerryIsOverParty that started trending on Twitter, choosing instead to take the high, bikini-clad road.

Sharing the following photo of herself soaking of a lot of sun while on vacation in Malibu, Spears wrote as a caption:

“Chasing the dream.”

Was this a way of proving to Perry that she didn’t care one bit about her diss? Or was Britney not even aware that Katy said anything about her?

We can’t say for certain, of course, but Britney did go ahead and add a new Instagram entry on Tuesday.

The 35-year old uploaded a photo of hands held in the shape of a heart in front a gorgeous sunset, accompanied by the following bible verse:

“Her mouth speaks from that which fills her heart. Luke 6:45.”

This time, it seems pretty hard to believe that Spears isn’t making a direct reference to Perry, right?

Aside from Spears mentioning a female, her mouth and how it speaks, keep this in mind: Perry’s parents are preachers.

The artist is not very close to either her mom or dad, with the latter actually asking folks to pray for his daughter back in July.

“I want you to pray for my daughter,” Keith Perry several months ago. “Don’t judge her, pray for her.”

We’re confident in saying that’s exactly what Britney is doing here.

And we’re not alone in that assessment.

“@britneyspears holy queen of bible verses. yassss. Smite her!” one fan wrote in response to the Luke 6:45 quote, while another added:

“katy perry won’t be needing to shave her head now ‘cause Britney just snatched every single follicle.”

Perry, of course, has famously feuded with Taylor Swift for many years, although most people are on Team Katy when it comes to this rivalry.

But further investigation in this case reveals that Perry has referenced Britney’s head-shaving numerous times over the years.

“My first record didn’t take off until I was 23, so I was perhaps in a different headspace to someone who became successful at a younger age,” she said in a 2010 radio interview, adding back then:

“If you’re starting at 14 or 15 your maturity hasn’t fully evolved. I’m not going to say I won’t mess up, because someday I might want to shave my head. But not today because I’ll get sunburn! I’m lucky because I have a great support system.”

Perry also cited Britney’s head-shaving incident in a 2015 cover story interview with Elle magazine… and again on Twitter in February 2015.

Weird.

Britney Spears Responds to Katy Perry Diss, Doesn"t Seem Too Concerned

On the red carpet of the 2017 Grammy Awards on Sunday night, Katy Perry threw some shade at Britney Spears.

And Britney has now responded by lounging around in some sun.

Prior to the ceremony in Los Angeles, Perry was asked by Ryan Seacrest about her hiatus from music, seeing as she only released one song in 2016 and that was in honor of the Summer Olympics.

“It’s called taking care of your mental health,” Perry replied, adding: “I haven’t shaved my head yet.”

This was an obvious reference to Britney and the time in 2007 when, as the culmination of an ongoing mental breakdown, the singer smashed a car with an umbrella after shaving her own head.

Did Perry mean any harm by the quip? Probably not.

She was probably just trying to be funny. She likely didn’t give the line much thought. It just popped into her brain.

But social media took notice and slammed Perry hard for dragging up Britney’s unfortunate past, especially in light of how far she has come in the decade since.

Perry – who actually wrote Britney’s’ 2013 single “Passenger” for the artist’s eighth studio album – later made the same comment during a live red carpet interview with CBS.

“It’s like the last color in the spectrum that I can do,” she said to CBS. “I’ve done all of them and the only thing left to do is shave my head, which I’m really saving for a public breakdown.”

In reply, the Britney Army to create the hashtag #KatyPerryIsOverParty, which quickly trended on Twitter.

But while her fans may have been peeved over Perry’s lame joke, Britney herself didn’t seem too bothered by what was said.

On Monday morning, Britney shared the following photo online.

“Chasing the Dream,” she captioned this long-range snapshot, which features Spears lying on her back and enjoying a few rays.

There’s no better revenge than simply proving you are unaffected by someone’s comments.

Spears and Perry have never been especially close, but, as mentioned above, they have worked together in the past.

Around the same time as when Perry penned that single for Britney, Spears said of her fellow singer:

“I’m a huge fan of hers. I think she’s an amazing vocalist and has a beautiful voice.”

Spears, meanwhile, was not nominated for any Grammy Awards this year nor did she event attend the ceremony.

But Perry was on hand, performing her new single for the first time live.

Katy Perry Makes Statement with New Single at Grammys

Ready for a bit of disco magic?

Two days after releasing her brand new single, "Chained to the Rhythm," Katy Perry took to the stage at the 2017 Grammys and performed the song live for the first time. 

She also made a rather clear and important political statement.

Wearing a white suit that one has to think was an homage to Hillary Clinton proud, Perry donned an armband that read “Persist," very likely a reference to Senator Elizabeth Warren, who was recently silenced in a speech criticizing Jeff Sessions.

Perry, of course, has long been an outspoken Democrat and supporter of Liberal politicians and policies.

The artist stood against a backdrop of clouds and flowers at first, with a white picket fence soon rising up around her, far too high to climb.

However, she eventually followed the advice of her armband and found a way to break through.

Toward the end of the performance, Perry took the hand of Bob Marley’s grandson Skip, and stood in front of a graphic of the Constitution, which was displayed on the wall behind her.

"No hate," yelled the superstar after finishing the single.

Perry was not nominated for any awards on the evening, as she basically took 2016 off to campaign for Clinton.

So the single is clearly trying to channel her disappointment at the election results into new music.

Taylor Swift on Katy Perry: I Don"t Know Her!

Bravo bigwig and Watch What Happens Live! host Andy Cohen has a new memoir out, and naturally, it’s filled with the kind of gossip that will have stars chucking into their giant roaring fireplaces, a la Citizen Kane.

Sure there are some Bravo-lebrities acting like Bravo-lebrities, but there are also some A-listers letting their true colors show.

The most interesting excerpt that’s been released thus far has to do with Cohen’s run-in with Taylor Swift at an LA bar:

“Why I felt I needed to get involved I will never know (maybe I was auditioning for her squad?) but I innocently said exactly the wrong thing to her, which was, ‘Your friend Katy is sitting in the corner and there’s plenty of room around her,’” he recalls.

According to Cohen, Swift then asked, “Katy who?”

“I said, ‘Perry,’ at which point she clearly let me know that she’s the exact opposite of her friend,” he continues.

Cohen says he cracked a joke at his own expense to lighten the mood, but Tay-Tay wasn’t having it and instructed him not to mention the incident his show.

“She didn’t threaten me about putting it in my book, so here we are,” he writes.

Cohen concludes the anecdote with one of his signature puns, joking that he failed his “squad-ition!”

Obviously, the great thing about this story isn’t that Cohen didn’t make the cut for Taylor’s squad, but that Taylor reacts like a Mariah Carey meme when someone mentions Katy’s name:

On a side note: there’s something we’ve been wondering about the never-ending Katy-Taylor feud this week.

We know that Taylor subtly revealed her presidential preferences on Election Day after remaining mum on the subject throughout her campaign…

And we imagine she’s less than pleased with the outcome.

That said, some part of her has gotta be happy that Katy got screwed, right?

Like, Taylor voted Dem, but Katy literally dressed up as Hillary for Halloween.

Homegirl probably already had captions written for her Lincoln Bedroom selfies.

Given her hatred of all things Katy and the fact that Swift has ties to the Trump family, we’re guessing she’s not as upset about the Donald’s victory as most young feminists.

Katy Perry Fights Donald Trump with $10,000 Donation to Planned Parenthood

Katy Perry loves Hillary Clinton.

Like really, honestly, sincerely loves her.

She was probably Hillary’s biggest supporter during her presidential campaign: she spoke and performed at the Democratic National Convention, she constantly urged her fans to support her.

And who could forget Katy’s incredible Halloween costume?

Katy loves Hillary so much that she even got naked to inspire people to vote.

Here, remember the good times:

Tragically, Katy’s girl lost the election, and now our great country has been catapulted into the End Times.

She took the news hard, just like many of us, but she wasn’t about to take things lying down.

The day after the election, she made a series of inspirational posts on Twitter, messages like “WE WILL NEVER BE SILENCED” and “THE REVOLUTION IS COMING.”

She requested her fans “peacefully protest” the election results, and to “fight for what is RIGHT.”

And then, last night, she donated $ 10,000 to Planned Parenthood, a little protest of her own.

And she also wrote this touching little letter to go along with it:

It’s time to turn words into action!

There are so many steps to take, but my first vow is to support organizations that may have their funding support taken from them in the future by the government.

I am making a public donation to Planned Parenthood for the teenage me who made several visits to first a clinic in Santa Barbara and then Los Angeles, CA to educate myself on my sexual health, a subject I had little to no information on because of my sheltered upbringing.

I had no idea how things worked down there, and had no idea how to make a plan for them.

Planned Parenthood educated me on my body and my reproductive health, so that I could focus on my dreams and using my voice until I knew the timing was right for me to make a plan to have a family.

Since then, I have been able to focus wholeheartedly on bringing messages of strength and becoming a voice for others.

Without this education, I may have had a different life path.

This is just my experience, but I know Planned Parenthood’s broader range of services can sometimes be the only medical support low-income families ever see. I know what it’s like to need help.

I came from a lower- to middle-class family and never grew up with the option of health insurance. I remember having 13 cavities as a teenager, and the best option my parents could come up with was to try to take me to Mexico because we couldn’t afford anything in California.

I am grateful for and stand in support of Planned Parenthood for giving Katheryn Hudson the knowledge to plan, and for continuing to be a haven for women to learn all options for their future.

Now, more than ever, we all need to protect and create safe places for each other.

I hope I can help inspire you to make a gift as well, and become a member and an ally.

Who knew that, in addition to being absolutely gorgeous and creating the catchiest pop songs of them all, Katy Perry was also just a generally wonderful human being?

Katy Perry Slays Halloween in Hillary Clinton Costume!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year.

No, the real most wonderful time.

Forget Christmas — Halloween is where it’s at. Scary movies, candy, and Katy Perry in an extremely elaborate Halloween costume. What could be better?!

And yes, you heard right: Katy Perry went to a party last night in what surely has to be the best costume of this year.

She posted that photo on Instagram with a hilarious “I’m with me” hashtag — she’s the greatest.

As you can see, Katy really went for it with this costume. She found a killer pantsuit, obviously, and the wig is so on point, but she also had her makeup team come through with some impressive prosthetics.

She shared little glimpses from her transformation on Snapchat, including this pic that will surely haunt your dreams for the rest of your life:

It seems important right now to mention that, although we don’t have photos yet, Katy’s boyfriend, Orlando Bloom, accompanied Katy to this party as Donald Trump.

As Katy twerked on Kendall, she even made a very wonderful joke about “locking down the Kardashian vote.”

While Katy’s costume is obviously incredible, it’s also a costume with a message.

Katy’s been very vocal about her views on Hillary Clinton — spoiler: she loves her very much — and she even performed at the Democratic National Convention in July.

In a speech at the convention, Katy explained that “Both my parents are pastors and staunch Republicans.”

“I didn’t finish high school,” she said. “Unfortunately, I don’t have a formal education, but I do have an open mind and I have a voice.”

“I’m asking you to have an open mind, and to use your voice, because on November 8th, you’ll be just as powerful as any NRA lobbyist.”

“You’ll have as much say as any billionaire, or you can cancel out your weird cousin’s vote.”

“Here’s how I’m going to use my voice: I’m going to vote for Hillary Clinton. I love Hillary.”

And we love you, Katy.

Katy Perry: I Want A Baby NOW!

Katy Perry is known for wearing candy as clothing, dating John Mayer longer than any reasonable person should, and also for that one time that she kissed a girl and liked it.

Seriously, those are the things she’s known for. Tack on her endless list of catchy-as-hell hits, then throw in some cats and cleavage, and you’ve got Katy in a nutshell.

But even though the mention of Katy’s name brings to mind images of cotton candy and boobs 99% of the time, it sounds like she’s looking to have a baby soon.

Yeah, the woman who brought us “California Gurls” just a few short years ago is planning on procreating ASAP.

What a wild and wonderful world …

In an interview that Katy gave last night at gala for the Los Angeles Children’s Hospital, she really opened up about her aspirations of motherhood.

“I see the amazing thing of birth and children and the vulnerability and we just have to take care of them and how, how big of an impression we have,” she said.

“We have such a responsibility!”

And then Katy dropped the bomb.

“Children to me are becoming a big focus.”

Are you listening, Orlando Bloom?

“I don’t even have mine,” she continued, “but I see it in my sister’s kids and just how much nurturing and love they need …”

Yes, and? What’s the end of that thought, Katy?

“I see just how much nurturing and love they need” and you want to have all the babies to give them all the love?

“I see just how much nurturing and love they need” and you’re excited because you’ll be able to nurture and love the baby that’s already set up shop in your uterus?

We’re going to need an ending to that sentence, and we’re going to need it immediately.

But perhaps Katy’s sister’s children aren’t the only little people to thank for her raging baby fever.

She’s been dating Orlando Bloom since at least January, and it seems like things haven gotten serious between them pretty fast.

Back in August, a source close to the couple claimed that they were headed for an engagement, then soon after that, another source revealed that they were talking about having children together.

Orlando, of course, has a five-year-old son, Flynn, that he shares with ex-wife Miranda Kerr.

It stands to reason that since Katy has gotten so close to Orlando over these past months, she would have gotten close to Flynn, too.

And that his cute little face would inspire her to want to give him a little baby brother or sister …

Get it done, Katy. Just get. It. Done.

Morrill, who lives in Knoxville, TN, appeared on MTV’s Catfish: The TV Show‘s August 17th episode, in which wanted hosts Nev Schulman and Max Joseph to help him meet Perry in person.  

Morrill explained that he and the pop star communicated via email, text, messaging apps and even spoke on the phone once.  It turned out that Perry was actually a Canadian woman named Harriet, who was based in London).

Perry was asked about the episode on SiriusXM’s The Morning Mash Up earlier this week, and she admitted that even though someone sent her the article, she didn’t read through the whole thing because it bummed her out.

“Somebody sent me a link,” Perry, 31, said.

“I didn’t actually read through it, because I just think it’s really unfortunate and really sad.”

The hosts tried to joke about the whole ordeal, but Perry didn’t find any of it funy.

“You know, like, my heart goes out to him actually, because anybody that’s been fooled like that or just, you know, people have dreams, and people live in different parts of the world where not everything is always so accessible,” she said.

“Like, we live on the coast, and we, you know, we get stuff in a way that some other people don’t get, and I feel bad for him, and so I didn’t really like to indulge in that, because my heart … I empathize.”

I have no idea what she’s talking about, and I think she just referred to Morrill as a hillbilly with dial-up internet, but I do respect that she has empathy for him.

Morrill was looking forward to finally seeing his beloved, he told Schulman and Joseph.

“I would like to meet face to face and see if there’s a future here,”

“She’s awesome. Katy’s funnier than I am, she’s smarter than I am. I don’t know how many people give her credit for that, but she’s very intelligent. Katy’s full of life, huge heart.”

A source tells the mag that Bloom and Perry are “not engaged yet, but seem to be heading that way,” and both are eager to start a family.

Bloom already has a son with ex Miranda Kerr, and he’s reportedly in awe of how well Katy and his kid get along.

“He would love to settle down with Katy and have more kids,” says the insider.

“He hasn’t been this serious about a girl since Miranda.” 

Perry, however, is understandably cautious about taking the leap again.

“Katy’s divorce from Russell [Brand] really messed her up emotionally,” the source says.

“She’s not going to rashly make a huge commitment like marriage again unless she thinks it’s absolutely right.”

The insider adds, however, that Katy feels her relationship with Bloom couldn’t be going any better:

“They’ve been getting along really well. They are serious about each other and their relationship.”
