Eva Amurri: My Night Nurse Dropped My Baby!
Eva Amurri has opened up about the possibility of her suffering from depression in the aftermath of a freak accident which resulted in her son having a cracked skull.
The freak accident occurred while Eva and her husband were asleep and their night nurse was looking after Major James.
“A couple of days after Thanksgiving, our Night Nurse fell asleep while holding Major and dropped him, and he cracked his head on the hardwood floor,” Amurri Martino, 31, wrote.
“[Husband Kyle Martino] and I were sleeping at the time and were awoken by the sound of his head hitting the floor, and then hysterical piercing screams. Added Amurri Martino, “He suffered a fractured skull and bleeding on his brain, and was transported by ambulance to Yale Medical Center where I spent two harrowing days with him to receive emergency care and further testing. To say these were the most traumatic and anxious two days of my life is an understatement.”
This is genuinely one of the most shocking, heartbreaking stories we’ve ever reported on. When you leave your child in the care of someone else, you don’t expect anything of this nature to happen.
Thankfully, it seems like Major James is making a good recovery.
“But here’s the good part: by the grace of all of his many angels, and every God one cares to pray to, MAJOR IS FINE. Completely fine,” she wrote.
“He has been healing well, hitting milestones, cooing, smiling, and generally showing us that he is and will be ok as he grows and develops.”
“I chose not to share [for] fear of judgement. The internet can be a peculiar place, where some people forget about humanity and go for the jugular. I know that this news might reach many, and of those many there will always be the people who say that this accident was my fault,” she wrote.
“That if it had been me in there holding him instead of a Night Nurse, that this never would have happened. That I deserve this for allowing my child to be in the care of somebody other than me.”
“Well, let me tell you– the guilt I bore in the days and weeks after this accident was more intense and more damaging than anything I would wish upon my worst enemy. I had all those same thoughts and more.”
She continued, “I wept in the hospital, telling anyone who would listen that it should have been me. That I was to blame. The truth is, even this woman who came so highly recommended, with a perfectly clean track record, could make a very human mistake. It ‘could happen to anyone,’ and as they told me repeatedly in the hospital, it DOES happen to anyone. More often than you’d like to hear.”
“Obviously, the (extremely upset and remorseful) nurse is no longer working for our family, though we forgive her. And even though I finally made peace with the fact that this freak accident could not have been avoided by me, it has continued to effect me to my core and in all aspects of my daily life.”
The actress then revealed that she did not trust anyone to look after her child anymore.
“It’s nearly impossible for me to trust anyone but myself to take care of Major now,” she wrote.
“Hearing Major cry hard immediately triggers my memories of the moments after the accident and instigates an immediate panic attack – my heart races and tears spring to my eyes.”
Eva took to Instagram just yesterday to wish her fans a happy new year, with a cute picture of herself and her family.

Candace Cameron Bure Reacts To The Nurse Controversy On The View — We"ve Got The Deets On What She Said!
She would’ve been so interesting on this topic!
Candace Cameron Bure wasn’t on the panel the day hosts from The View made their controversial comments about nurses, but now we at least know how Candace would’ve handled it had she been there!

Speaking out at a pre-Emmys party, Candace said of the nurse controversy, and whether she dodged a bullet by missing it:
“I did dodge a bullet although I wish I were there because I would have had some other words to say, which were how much I appreciate nurses. We couldn’t do what they do. Doctors couldn’t do what they do without the nurses. I’m so appreciative and grateful of nurses. I kind of let [the ladies] sort it out because you don’t want to come in and go ‘Oh, I’m going to be the hero and the good person over all of this’ because I think it was an unfortunate mistake. They were trying to make a joke that didn’t quite go over well in the talent department and it wasn’t to say that nurses aren’t talented.”
There is one thing that she liked, though — bringing nurses on to make amends after the controversy hit! Candace said:
“I’m glad they brought all of the nurses back on and they gave an apology to them and they celebrated them and that’s exactly what they should have done. I wish I were there and I could of genuinely apologized to them and told them how much I appreciate them because I truly mean it. I’ve been with so many nurses and I understand what they go through,” she explained. “I’ve said sometimes a nurse is the only ray of sunshine that you see in a day when you’re at a hospital.”
Well there you go! Wanna see it all in real time? Ch-ch-check out the video of the interview (below)!
What do U think about Candace’s take on the controversial nurse comments??

"The View" -- Big Advertisers Pull the Plug After "Nurse" Comments
Z STAFF
“The View” may need a nurse to stop the bleeding, because TMZ has learned 2 major advertisers have cut the cord after the women went off on doctor’s helpers.
Johnson & Johnson and Eggland’s Best are cutting ties with the ABC show. EB seems to be making things final, saying, “In light of the comments about the nursing profession recently made … we will no longer be advertising.” J&J says they’ve “paused our advertising accordingly.”
Co-hosts Michelle Collins and Joy Behar criticized Miss Colorado during the talent portion of the “Miss America” pageant Sunday for wearing her nurse-garb.
The two tried to smooth things over with an apology on Wednesday but it looks like the big business wigs weren’t buyin’ it.
We reached out to “The View” for comment … so far no word back.

The View Co-Hosts Apologize For Mocking Miss America Nurse Monologue — See The Backlash & Their Apology HERE!
Well that took no time at all!
It’s been just about a week since The View returned to TV with a mostly new panel of co-hosts including Michelle Collins, Joy Behar, Raven Symoné, Whoopi Goldberg, and Paula Faris.
In that week they’ve already managed to offend people with some of their commentary about one of the contestants in the Miss America pageant being a nurse — to which they’ve already apologized (below)!
Video: Donald Trump Faces Off Against Whoopi Goldberg On The View!
During the talent the portion of the contest, Miss Colorado, Kelley Johnson, performed a monologue which talked quite a bit about her profession as a nurse.
Yesterday Collins apparently felt the need to express her opinion about the monologue as well as question why she was wearing a stethoscope during the segment. She shared:
“The talent, though, I have to say, the woman who won sang opera, and she was incredible. Really good. But then there was a girl who wrote her own monologue and I was like ‘Turn the volume up, this is going be amazing, let’s listen’. She came out in a nurse’s uniform and basically read her emails out loud and shockingly did not win.”
Behar chimed with disbelief as Collins replied:
“I swear to God it was hilarious.”
Behar then inquired as to why Johnson was even wearing a stethoscope as a nurse to which Collins said:
“She helps patients with Alzheimer’s, which I know is not funny, but I swear you had to see it.”
Quite a few people were offended by her comments and took to Twitter (below) to point out that stethoscopes aren’t just for doctors — nurses quite often have to use them too!
A lot of the backlash came from women who were nurses:
@TheView I use my stethoscope every day. I’m #notjustanurse – Im the nurse trying to save your life- YOUR nurse. #nursesunite #NursesMatter
— Julianne van kalken (@JKalken) September 15, 2015
So glad doctor used stethoscope 30sec this am so I don’t need to use mine rest of this 12hr shift said NO NURSE EVER #TheView #JoyBehar
— Ellie (@SimonSaidSo06) September 15, 2015
I wonder how quick @TheView would be to mock nursing if their lives were in a nurse’s hands.
— Spoiled Little Brat (@spoiledbratprbz) September 15, 2015
It’s very obvious the ladies on The View do NOT have the compassion, wisdom or respect for human dignity to be “just a nurse.” #nursesunite
— Priscilla (@Pris635) September 15, 2015
@TheView Today Joy Behar & crew mocked Miss Colo Nurse Kelly Johnson. Your comments were totally unacceptable. You owe Nurses an apology.
— Jo (@Just_JoBayes) September 15, 2015
To the ignorant hosts, I may be “just a nurse” to you, but I could be the one saving your life tomorrow. Educate yourselves. #TheView
— KB (@kimberlybryanna) September 15, 2015
Well today, the ladies took a moment out of their show to apologize for their previous statements and express how much they love nurses (below):
What do you think? Did the ladies on The View deserve the backlash — and do you accept their apology??
The View Co-Hosts Mock Miss America Nurse Monologue
Multiple co-hosts on The View showed their ignorance and their idiocy on Tuesday by making fun of Kelly Johnson during a particularly unfunny segment.
Johnson represented Colorado at this year’s Miss America Pageant.
Instead of showing off a talent such as singing, dancing or juggling, however, Johnson appeared on stage in her nurse’s uniform and talked about the challenges and the rewards of her profession.
You can watch her speech above.
Pretty cool, right? Nice and different and inspiring?
Not according to The View.
“There was a girl who wrote her own monologue and I was like ‘Turn the volume up, this is going be amazing, let’s listen,’” said Michelle Collins.
“She came out in a nurse’s uniform and basically read her emails out loud and shockingly did not win.”
Collins went on to say it was “hilarious.”
Joy Behar then inquired as to why Johnson had a “doctor’s stethoscope on,” a remark that drew ire and consternation on Twitter.
For the record, nurses around the world nearly all wear and use stethoscopes on a daily basis. They always have.
In the end, Betty Cantrell was crowned Miss America 2016, partly due to her opera singing.
She gave an impressive performance and all… but why The View panelists chose to focus on a nurse’s inspiring speech, as opposed to the mere fact that beauty pageants (with evening gown and swimsuit competitions) still exist is rather depressing.
