Amy Roloff Takes Major Step in Romance with Chris Marek
If you close your eyes and listen closely, you can hear them.
The sound is not overpowering just yet. It remains somewhat faint.
But make no mistake: When it comes to Amy Roloff and her long-time boyfriend Chris Marek, they are very much there.
We write, of course, about wedding bells.
More specifically, about the sound of them ringing and how we’re more convinced than ever before that they will be doing precisely this for the Little People, Big World star some time in the near future.
This is not a new sentiment, really.
Roloff and Marek have been very serious for awhile now.
However, they took a rather major step over this past weekend when Amy took Chris to her native state of Michigan.
(As all fans of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette know well, such hometown visits often preclude a proposal.)
“So happy I got to show Chris my favorite place to go to in Michigan, besides my folks cabin,” wrote the TLC personality as a caption to the image above, adding:
“Had the best time and made such a memory together. We’ll be back! #puremichigan #homestate #amyrandchrism #amyssecondactcontinues.”
You’ll be back, huh?
Like… for a wedding?!?
After not featuring Chris in a few Instagram photos for a bit, Amy was forced to address break-up rumors recently.
In short, her response was simple: the couple is anything but broken up. They are very much together.
For whatever reason, however, many Little People, Big World fans refuse to accept this relationship for what it is.
They think Marek has sinister motives; that he’s only dating Amy for her fame and her fortune, even though:
- He has never given us any reason to think this.
- Let’s face it: she isn’t that rich or that famous.
But irrational social media users do not care.
They continue to warn Roloff about how Marek is a “wolf” and how his interest in her is all about “[money.]”
To wit:
Amy and ex-husband Matt Roloff divorced well over two years ago, following about 27 years of marriage.
They still star on Little People, Big World together, however, and still run their family business together.
Matt is dating Caryn Chandler and may also soon get engaged and the tension between exes is obvious at times.
But they remain pretty darn amicable, all relationships and awkward situations considering.
“I never thought I’d be dating as a grandma,” Amy said during the most recent season of her TLC reality series, adding that while she’d love a “lifetime” relationship, she wasn’t looking to make things so permanent with Marek just yet.
She is in no rush to walk down the aisle again.
It’s certainly possible that day never comes.
That doesn’t mean Amy won’t stick it to Marek haters, though, when their clams come out and it doesn’t mean she won’t rule put the possibility of getting hitched again.
But why worry a lot about the future?
Why not just enjoy the present as much as one can?
And, for the record, Amy’s kids approve.
“Chris seems like a good guy,” son Zach said on a Little People, Big World episode this spring, adding:
“He seems pretty straight, level-headed, not fake. That’s why I like him, because he doesn’t try to be my best friend. He’s not overly aggressive. He’s cordial, and he’s just a normal dude.”
We concur.

Kim Kardashian: Now I"m One Step Closer to Becoming First Lady!
Kim Kardashian undertook the unenviable task of meeting with Donald Trump in the Oval Office for a great cause.
But a report claims that Kim’s ambitions extend far beyond advocating for prison reform. She wants to be First Lady.
Kanye West’s First Lady, to be clear.
Though Kim had a very specific agenda in mind when she met with Trump, RadarOnline reports that Kim’s ulterior motive has to do with her own goals.
“Kim wants nothing more than to be First Lady when her husband Kanye West runs for President.”
While a lot of people have major ambitions in life, this could be a huge deal.
“Kim wants to show the world that she has what it takes to do this role.”
Kim knows how to play to cameras and speak to the people. She was making it clear that she knows how to make a political overture.
“And has a cause to champion that Americans can relate to.”
That cause is prison reform.
Kim’s official reason for visiting the Oval Office was to advocate for Alice Marie Johnson, a grandmother who is serving a life sentence for drug charges.
But the source wants to make it clear that Kim is sincere in her advocacy.
“She does believe in prison reform.”
Honestly, what people put into their bodies shouldn’t be anyone’s business until it endangers others. And that’s only one small part of what has made the U.S. prison system so badly in need of reform.
The source also says that Kim is thinking ahead.
“But not as much as she believes Kanye has a chance at winning the 2024 election!”
Oh boy.
Kanye has spoken about running for President before.
It has always been a laughable idea. But then, so was the idea of Donald Trump even winning his party’s nomination.
If enough people will vote for Trump, will just as many vote for Kanye?
Well … probably not. But it’s possible.
The Left is unlikely to vote for Kanye because he is an avowed Trump supporter.
Trump’s base is unlikely to vote for Kanye because … well … Kanye is not white. Trump’s support from white supremacists and his tacit support of them is not insignificant.
What many fear is that Kanye may run for President as an Independent, drawing throwaway “ironic” votes and votes from individuals who want to spite one or both parties.
(Plus, as Kanye’s newest album reminds us all, he has genuine fans who love his music. He’s not quite the only one who thinks that he’s a misunderstood genius)
In that way, Kanye could shape America’s future without garnering more than 2% of the vote.
As fans were reminded on Memorial Day weekend when Kim Kardashian feuded with Rhymefest, she will go to any length to defend or support her husband.
That may include, you know, leading to America’s further ruin.
Kim is, quite frankly, an enabler.
She defends Kanye’s outlandish statements and bad behavior because she loves him, and she stands by him no matter what.
This is why Snoop Dogg says that Kim is no good for Kanye. Snoop says that, if the late Dr. Donda West were still alive, she could talk some sense into her son.
Some point out that there’s nothing inherently wrong with the picture of Kim herself in the Oval Office.
We don’t always agree with Kim, but she has a good head on her shoulders.
As long as America is electing reality stars with zero political experience into the most powerful job that has ever existed in human history, some wonder if it might as well be Kim.
After all, unlike Trump, Kim is a savvy businesswoman who is not known for an infamous string of business failures. And she is not accused of mob ties.
But others suggest that perhaps people who are elected to office should be qualified for that office.
A radical idea, we know.

Pink Hits Back After Grammys President Tells Women to "Step Up"
The 2018 Grammy’s were on Sunday, and do you know who took home the gold? A whole bunch of dudes.
The gender disparity between extremely talented women who were nominees and the men who won Grammys was so significant that some people started referring to #GrammysSoMale — a nod to the #OscarsSoWhite criticisms in recent years.
The Recording Academy President said that women needed to “step up,” and that prompted Pink — who has been stepping up for her entire career — to speak out.
Viewers couldn’t help but notice that there were some serious snubs at the Grammys.
Okay, one of them was Jay-Z, whose 4:44 album made headlines. But some felt that it was right that he not be celebrated for an album all about how he cheated on Beyonce to absurd lengths.
Viewers wanted to know where the heck Lorde was.
Lorde, extraordinarily accomplished for any age but particularly for a 21-year-old who was still in high school when the world fell in love with her music, was the only Album Of The Year nominee who was not invited to perform solo. Which was absurd and insulting.
And then, though Kesha’s powerful performance of “Praying” wowed audiences, Kesha didn’t win. Neither did Lady Gaga or Lorde.
Ed Sheeran won for what many felt was a mediocre song about some woman’s body. Bruno Mars swept up the awards.
Was it fair, or were men held to lower standards than women?
The Recording Academy President, Neil Portnow, responded to criticism by saying:
“It has to begin with … women who have the creativity in their hearts and souls, who want to be musicians, who want to be engineers, producers, and want to be part of the industry on the executive level …”
And here’s his advice:
“[They need] to step up because I think they would be welcome.”
Which … seems to miss the point. Women aren’t asking for a boost above their level of talent. People just want their talent to be recognized and honored.
Though he has the audacity to tell incredibly accomplished women to “step up,” he at least has the insight to acknowledge that he’s speaking from a place of privilege.
“I don’t have personal experience of those kinds of brick walls that you face.”
Clearly.
“I think it’s upon us — us as an industry — to make the welcome mat very obvious, breeding opportunities for all people who want to be creative and paying it forward and creating that next generation of artists.”
Maybe this is just subjective, and the Grammy voters just happen to prefer Ed Sheeran and Bruno Mars’ voices … somehow.
But it seems like an odd coincidence that they just happen to overwhelmingly enjoy dude voices despite such massive displays of female talent.
In a handwritten note shared to Twitter, Pink wrote:
“Women don’t need to ‘step up’ — women have been stepping since the beginning of time.”
Yep.
“Stepping up and also stepping aside.”
Referring to how women so often forego recognition so that men can give a speech and take home an award. Even if those men are less talented.
“Women owned music this year. They’ve been killing it.”
She’s right about that.
“And every year before this.”
She talks about how important it is for women’s accomplishments to be acknowledged instead of sidelined.
“When we celebrate and honor the talents and accomplishments of women, and how much women step up every year, against all odds …”
Which they really do. In light of those #MeToo stories, it’s almost astonishing how many women remain in the industry instead of running for their lives.
“We show the next generation of women and girls and boys and men what it means to be equal and what it looks like to be fair.”
Again, she says fair. She’s not asking for special awards for the sake of giving out awards.
But many Grammys viewers feel that anyone who claims that they just happen to enjoy Sheeran or Mars more than they liked Lorde’s album or Kesha’s is perhaps lying to themselves.
Again, music is subjective, we suppose. But seeing such a massive gender disparity raises some eyebrows. Pink has a point.

Miranda Lambert and Anderson East: About to Take that Exciting Next Step?!
Miranda Lambert’s music may be a far cry from Beyonce’s, but it sounds like Miranda’s boyfriend, Anderson East, listens to Queen Bey’s lyrics. Or, at least, to the very firm advice in “Single Ladies.”
You know — the part about putting a ring on it.
Just over two years since new broke that Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton had split, it looks like Miranda Lambert has wedding bells on the horizon.
For four years, Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton were something of a power couple — within the context of country music, anyway.
After months of the two living separate lives and rumors that Miranda Lambert cheated on Blake, the world finally learned that they filed for divorce in July of 2015.
Breakups can be rough, and celebrity breakups are undoubtedly worse, but … honestly? It seems like it’s been for the better.
For both of them.
Blake Shelton, of course, has his massively publicized relationship with Gwen Stefani.
Just look at how they celebrated his most recent birthday.
But Miranda Lambert’s been moving on, too.
She’s found a boyfriend in Alabama native and rhythm & blues singer Anderson East.
It sounds like their relationship is about to take an exciting next step!
According to what sources tell Us Weekly, Miranda Lambert and Anderson East could get engaged very soon.
For starters, there’s compatibility.
Sources say that the two “are very much in sync.”
And they do not mean the boy band.
“He’s crazy about Miranda and she’s so smitten with him as well.”
That’s been pretty apparent, but it’s good to hear.
“Their friends can definitely see them getting engaged in the near future.”
Right … but how near? That’s what we want to know.
There have been celebrity engagement that have lasted years and years and others that only last months.
How long is this pre-engagement expected to last, exactly?
“They love to play music together, drink, have fun, and hang out.”
We have to say that, while those sound specific to those two, that also sounds almost universal for all human beings who enjoy each other’s company.
Maybe not the music part … though plenty of people have made music with friends at some point or another.
Miranda hasn’t been shy about her affections.
Back on Anderson East’s 30th birthday — she’s only three years older, so let’s not go calling her a cougar, even if they look like their age difference might be a little more than that — Miranda had zero chill about Anderson.
She announced that he “owns” her heart, answering that question posed in one of our favorite old Miley songs.
She referred to him as “a light that could outshine the sun,” which sounds like it could be a joke about him being a redhead.
But it actually sounds super sweet.
Miranda also declared that she loves making memories with Anderson. Sure.
Now, we know that hearing this, even from multiple sources, isn’t the same as reading an announcement or seeing a ring.
In fact, there have already been recent rumors that Miranda Lambert and Anderson East are secretly engaged.
Secret engagements do happen sometimes, but it’s easy for a simple misunderstanding to start a rumor like that.
What really drives up those kinds of impressions, however, is when a couple is so close that everyone in their lives expects the next text or phone call or social media post to be an engagement announcement.
But there’s no telling how long Miranda and Anderson (Miranderson?) are going to keep us on our toes.

Joe Alwyn and Taylor Swift Take MAJOR Step in Their Relationship
Taylor Swift may have recently lost a good friend in Lorde.
But is the singer about to gain a new set of in-laws?!?
This is the question we’re forced to ask now that a new tabloid report implies that the romance between Swift and Joe Alwyn is about to take a significant step.
In the direction of marriage?!?
Hey, you never know!
According to Life & Style, Swift has extended a special invitation to Alwyn’s parents to fly from Great Britain to Nashville in order to spend time with her parents.
One can only assume such an invitation would not be extended unless Alwyn and Swift were serious about their relationship.
“Taylor is extremely close to her family and she loves Joe’s parents,” a source tells this magazine. “She really wants them all to get to know each other.”
We believe Taylor is even offering to fly the Alwyns on a private jet to make this meeting happen.
The singer and the scarcely-known British actor have been dating for about six months now.
You’re forgiven if you’ve failed to remember this, however, considering how quiet Swift has remained about the arrangement.
In other cases, one might assume this would mean that Swift were ashamed of Alwyn for some reason.
When it comes to Taylor, however, the opposite assumption may be the safest one to make.
The artist has been mocked mercilessly over the years for flaunting relationships with fellow stars such as Calvin Harris and Tom Hiddleston in public. Many critics believe these weren’t even relationships.
They were mere PR opportunities dragged out over several months.
Might Swift have finally learned her lesson?
Might she actually feel so strongly about Alwyn that she’s focused on their future far more than she’s focused on how the press will react to their public displays of affection?
“Taylor has offered to fly Joe’s parents out by private jet,” the Life & Style source insider says, concluding:
“His folks are low-key and aren’t used to the glamorous Hollywood lifestyle, but Taylor’s going out of her way to impress them.”
It’s almost like she doesn’t want any bad blood to exist between then and her family members.
We tend to think she’s yearning to write a love story with a happy ending in this case.
When it comes to her feelings for Alwyn, it’s sort of like Taylor can’t shake them off because she hasn’t experienced a romance like this since the year she was born, 1989.
Never ever getting back together? It’s more like Swift may have finally found someone from whom she never wants to be apart.
