Azealia Banks: Elon Musk Is a Druggie and Grimes Is White Trash!
Folks, as you probably know, it’s been quite a big news week.
No, we’re not talking about the fact that Trump supporters are getting locked up at such an alarming rate that you’d think they were black teens with half a gram of marijuana in their glove compartment.
We’re talking about the excitement of yet another Azealia Banks beef!
As you may recall, Ms. Banks is a gifted rapper and singer who keeps torpedoing her own career, largely by engaging in ugly high-profile feuds with better-known celebs.
Though she’s emerged victorious on multiple occasions (see: Azealia Banks vs. Iggy Azalea), generally the one to suffer most in the aftermath is Banks herself.
Whether that’s the result of her being treated unfairly in the press or simply a consequence of continually throwing shots at powerful and influential people is still a matter for debate.
What’s not up for argument, however, is the fact that picking a fight with a budding supervillain who seems hell-bent on being the first man to conquer space probably isn’t the best decision Azealia ever made.
As you may know, Elon Musk is currently dating Grimes, a Canadian singer who apparently knows Banks in a professional capacity.
Grimes recently invited Banks to Musk’s mansion to discuss a collaboration, and based on Azealia’s social media updates on the situation, we think it’s safe to say the visit didn’t go according to plan.
Banks compared the situation to the movie Get Out and claimed that Musk used LSD and steroids in her presence.
She even claimed that the Tesla CEO tweeted important news about his company while in the throes of an acid trip.
She went on to describe Musk as “a giant d—k” and accused him of using “a fake made up accent.”
Banks wasn’t much kinder to Grimes, whom she described as “white trash” and “a pathological liar.”
So that was last week.
This week, the feud was re-ignited by Banks’ claims that Musk stole her phone in order to “delete evidence” of their bizarre encounter.
Attorneys for Musk responded with a statement reading in part:
“Elon doesn’t know Azealia Banks. He doesn’t have her phone and neither do his lawyers.”
“Azealia Banks might be a lot of things, but one thing I am not is a liar. I’m not gonna be made to look like I’m some f—king crazed fan,” Banks fired back.
Azealia doubled down on her comments yesterday, writing in an Instagram story that she “didn’t come to L.A. to [have] some f—king alien orgy and some other crazy s—t.”
Musk has yet to respond, but we expect he’ll announce plans to launch Azealia Banks into orbit sometime this afternoon.

Jim Carrey Under Fire for Painting "White" Aretha Franklin
Actor Jim Carrey has been pouring his heart and soul into paintings and sharing them on social media.
Those paintings — like his unflattering portrait of Sarah Huckabee Sanders — have sometimes proven to be controversial.
He did a portrait of the late, great Aretha Franklin, but it is not going over well. Did he paint her as a white woman?
The legendary Aretha Franklin passed away at 76 years of age after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
Jim Carrey, known for posting his paintings on Twitter as a form of commentary on current events, shared a portrait of her.
“Look how beautiful a life can be,’ Carrey wrote as he shared the image.
Carrey continued: “Thank you, Aretha!”
The painting that he included of the Queen of Soul, however, caused quite a stir.
Do you see what was controversial about this painting?
In life, Aretha Franklin was a dark-skinned black woman. She is one of the most famous black women on the planet.
In Carrey’s painting, Aretha’s skin looks very, very white in tone.
So much so that, without context, some would never have recognized the subject of his work.
And folks on Twitter took to the replies to notice.
This is not a unique phenomenon, unfortunately.
Whitewashing is found in fanart from all sorts of fandoms. People have drawn famous black women, from real ones like Beyonce to fictional ones like Storm or Tiana, with skin so fair that they don’t even look like tan white people.
Sometimes, there is a genuine prejudice behind it. Racism is real, and sometimes that malice makes its way into art.
In other cases, however, it comes from a lack of familiarity with how to draw or paint someone with dark brown skin.
Some art classes simply don’t train people in it. And because so many white faces dominate pop culture, a lot of white artists do not get much practice.
(As you can see, one person even tweaked the image to pay more accurate tribute to Aretha’s skin tone)
We do not think that Jim Carrey was in any way malicious or racist in his intentions.
Rather, his very light painting was the result of white supremacy’s impact on our culture and the arts as a whole.
This can be a useful learning experience for Carrey and for aspiring artists.
And if you’re ever unsure of how you’re portraying someone, you can always look up online resources — or just ask someone.
The spirit of what Carrey did was, of course, great.
Aretha Franklin touched countless hearts and minds with her incredible voice.
It is only fitting that he and other artists want to honor her and her passing.
But sometimes, people screw up — even if it’s something seemingly small. And that can come across as an unintended insult to marginalized communities.
We all need to be conscious of what we do and how we do it in order to be good people.
Otherwise, our respectful tributes seem like an insult.

South Carolina Woman Drives Drunk, Says She"s Too "White" to Get Arrested
A resident of Bluffton, South Carolina was pulled over for reckless driving last Saturday morning and arrested on a number of charges.
This, despite the fact that she was white.
That statement may seem like a ridiculous non-sequitor, but it was actually the argument used by Lauren Elizabeth Cutshaw at the time over her run-in with the law.
As documented by The New York Post, the 32-year old was caught by police officers blowing through a four-way stop sign at 60 miles per hour around 1:45 a.m. on August 4.
With eyes described in the official report as bloodshot and glossy, Cutshaw told the cops that she had only two glasses of wine.
But she was allegedly slurring her words and there was a strong scent of alcohol emanating from the vehicle.
“I mean, I was celebrating my birthday,” Cutshaw told the cops when they asked her how big the glasses were for her pair of drinks, according to the report.
This is a rather aburd excuse for two reasons:
- Her birthday is on August 9.
- One’s birthday is not an excuse for breaking the law.
But this seemingly typical arrest has gone viral for a different reason.
Cutshaw gave the officers what she believes were perfectly reasonable explanations for why they shouldn’t place her under arrest. To wit:
She maintained perfect grades during all of her school years… she was a cheerleader … she was a member of a sorority.
Oh, and also:
“I’m a white, clean girl,” Cutshaw said, according to the report.
For some reason, however, this defense did not mean anything to the arresting officers.
When the officers asked what, exactly, Lauren meant by this announcement, she replied:
“You’re a cop, you should know what that means.”
(Translation: You guys only shoot and harass black people. So come on! Give me a break!)
What did mean something to these authority figures?
The fact that Cutshaw failed sobriety tests; and that a breathalyzer showed that her blood alcohol at the time was .18 percent (the legal limit in South Carolina is 0.08 percent).
The report actually cited Cutshaw’s “white” remark, noting:
“Making statements such as these as a means to justify not being arrested are unusual in my experience as a law enforcement officer and I believe further demonstrate the suspect’s level of intoxication.”
And also of her white privilege.
In the end, Lauren was booked on charges of speeding, disregarding a stop sign, simple possession of marijuana, driving under the influence and possession of drug paraphernalia.
