Elon Musk Smokes a Blunt With Joe Rogan; Tesla Stock Plummets 9 Percent
And you thought that car he launched into space was high. Zing!
As you may already know, Elon Musk has endured quite a drubbing from the press in recent weeks.
It all started with an emotional New York Times interview in which the Tesla and Space-X CEO tearfully carried on about the pain of spending his 47th birthday alone.
From there, things got quickly became even more bizarre, as Musk was involved in a public feud with Azealia Banks that saw the rapper issuing allegations of drug use and erratic behavior.
(Banks later apologized for the accusations.)
Combine those PR debacles with Musk’s tweets about a plan to take his publicly-traded company private in what would have been the biggest buyout in history, and it’s not hard to see why Tesla stock isn’t exactly soaring at the moment.
Presumably, in an effort to begin the lengthy process of rebuilding his public image as wells as shareholders’ trust, Musk decided to make an appearance Joe Rogan’s podcast, which is like Oprah for people who experiment with DMT and spend a lot of time talking about their gains.
In all seriousness, Rogan’s podcast is one of the most popular on the planet, and no outlet that features thoughtful discussion of dense topics in a 3-4 hour format reaches a larger audience.
So it could have been a smart move for Musk, had he not decided to take the host — a proud advocate of the therapeutic and recreational benefits of mind-altering substances — up on his offer to spark a blunt and sip a little whiskey.
Now, even in the most conservative circles, attitudes toward cannabis use have never been more relaxed.
Prohibition of pot is glacially coming to an end, and all over the country, people are walking in on their college-aged kids or elderly parents smoking a joint and responding by calmly encouraging them to pass that.
But Musk’s case is a bit different than most.
The decision to light up with Rogan comes on the heels of accusations that Musk made the decision to take his company private (at $ 420 a share, tee-hee) while tripping on acid.
So we suppose it’s understandable that some of Tesla’s more traditional shareholders weren’t thrilled to see the company’s CEO burning one down in front of an audience of millions.
In fact, the price of Tesla shares has plummeted an astonishing 9 percent in the past 24 hours, with experts chalking the drop up to Musk’s latest behavior.
Tesla stock is now down 40 percent from the company’s 52-week … high (sorry).
Frankly, we don’t see what all the fuss is about.
Folks who were worried that Musk is on drugs should have had their minds put at ease by the fact that this man clearly has no experience smoking blunts.

Azealia Banks to Elon Musk: Sorry! You"re Not Really a Balding Drug Addict!
One of the most amusing gossip items of August had to do with the highly unexpected feud between Azealia Banks and Elon Musk.
In case you’re unfamiliar with those names, they perfectly represent the two main archetypes of American egomania:
Banks is the gifted artist whose rage over the fact that she still has to ride the subway like a plebe has driven her to repeatedly sabotage her own career.
Conversely, Musk is quite successful financially but is consistently driven mad over the world’s unwillingness to recognize him as the heir to Einstein, Edison, Henry Ford, and Jesus H. Christ.
In other words, they may not seem to have much in common — Banks is a self-made creative, whereas Mush is a left-brain cyborg who could’ve spent his entire life blowing his family’s emerald mine fortune.
But at the end of the day, Banks and Musk are just two sides of the same narcissistic coin.
Perhaps that’s why they clashed upon first meeting, then later realized they were destined to join forces.
Allow us to explain:
Earlier this month, NYC-based Banks spent some time in LA with the intention of collaborating on a song with Musk’s girlfriend, Grimes.
So she paid a visit to Musk’s sprawling mansion and found it to have less of a “Tony Stark” vibe and more of an “Allison Williams’ parent’s house in Get Out” feel.
In addition to comparing her experience to Jordan Peele’s horror classic, Banks says she witnessed a wealth of appallingly self-destructive behavior from both Musk and Grimes.
Banks referred to Musk as a “giant d–k” and a “beta male who took steroids and hair plugs to convince himself he’s alpha.”
She also accused Musk of conducting business while tripping on LSD, and Grimes of being a meth addict.
She later alleged that Musk had stolen her phone so that he could “delete evidence” of their encounter.
Needless to say, after all that it was quite a surprise to see that Banks had issued a public apology to Musk:
“I feel terrible about everything,” reads the now-deleted open letter that was posted to Banks’ Instagram page.
“Over the time spent liaising said collaborations [with Grimes], I was welcomed to a lot of personal information about you,” Banks wrote.
“The stuff made me feel awkward and uncomfortable about being privy to you, yet I never had the intentions of ever using the information against you.
She added:
“What started off as a cat-fight lead to some seriously unexpected consequences and I seriously apologize.”
Interestingly, Banks’ refused to use Grimes name throughout the letter, referring to her would-be collaborator only with a pair of empty quotation marks.
After posting the letter, Banks deleted her Instagram account, but now appears to have re-instated her account.
We’ll continue to monitor this weird-ass situation and let you know if it gets any weirder.

Azealia Banks: Elon Musk Is a Druggie and Grimes Is White Trash!
Folks, as you probably know, it’s been quite a big news week.
No, we’re not talking about the fact that Trump supporters are getting locked up at such an alarming rate that you’d think they were black teens with half a gram of marijuana in their glove compartment.
We’re talking about the excitement of yet another Azealia Banks beef!
As you may recall, Ms. Banks is a gifted rapper and singer who keeps torpedoing her own career, largely by engaging in ugly high-profile feuds with better-known celebs.
Though she’s emerged victorious on multiple occasions (see: Azealia Banks vs. Iggy Azalea), generally the one to suffer most in the aftermath is Banks herself.
Whether that’s the result of her being treated unfairly in the press or simply a consequence of continually throwing shots at powerful and influential people is still a matter for debate.
What’s not up for argument, however, is the fact that picking a fight with a budding supervillain who seems hell-bent on being the first man to conquer space probably isn’t the best decision Azealia ever made.
As you may know, Elon Musk is currently dating Grimes, a Canadian singer who apparently knows Banks in a professional capacity.
Grimes recently invited Banks to Musk’s mansion to discuss a collaboration, and based on Azealia’s social media updates on the situation, we think it’s safe to say the visit didn’t go according to plan.
Banks compared the situation to the movie Get Out and claimed that Musk used LSD and steroids in her presence.
She even claimed that the Tesla CEO tweeted important news about his company while in the throes of an acid trip.
She went on to describe Musk as “a giant d—k” and accused him of using “a fake made up accent.”
Banks wasn’t much kinder to Grimes, whom she described as “white trash” and “a pathological liar.”
So that was last week.
This week, the feud was re-ignited by Banks’ claims that Musk stole her phone in order to “delete evidence” of their bizarre encounter.
Attorneys for Musk responded with a statement reading in part:
“Elon doesn’t know Azealia Banks. He doesn’t have her phone and neither do his lawyers.”
“Azealia Banks might be a lot of things, but one thing I am not is a liar. I’m not gonna be made to look like I’m some f—king crazed fan,” Banks fired back.
Azealia doubled down on her comments yesterday, writing in an Instagram story that she “didn’t come to L.A. to [have] some f—king alien orgy and some other crazy s—t.”
Musk has yet to respond, but we expect he’ll announce plans to launch Azealia Banks into orbit sometime this afternoon.
