Grey"s Anatomy Season 12 Episode 13 Recap: All Eyez on Me

Thursday night on Grey’s Anatomy Season 12 Episode 13, Andrew did not take kindly to the secret nature of his romance with Maggie.

For the most part, though, this week was all about … surgery.

It’s been awhile since Grey’s Anatomy delivered an episode like this one, but “All Eyez On Me” meant almost all eyez on the medicine.

Not that this isn’t a medical drama here. But that’s just it.

The life-or-death drama of the patients and their sad but inspiring and allegorical tales are what fuels a good case of the week. Right?

This week, by comparison, was almost too technical.

Again, a psychiatric ward fiasco and a guy with a leg attached to the middle of his body still made for some tense moments. But we digress.

When Owen receives a call from a military facility nearby, we meet Sgt. Carson, who has cancer in his left pelvis, spine, and … sacrum.

The typical chemo and radiation probably won’t do much for him, but Callie wants to bypass chemo and go big to give him a a real chance.

A chance at a normal life, that is. But it’s a long shot.

Not to mention a bit … unconventional. Under Callie’s plan, all the cancer-ridden bones in his body, including his left leg, will be removed.

Sad but standard under the circumstances, right?

Well, here’s the rub: Using some healthy bone salvageable from the amputated leg, Callie wants to move the leg to the middle of his body.

Yes, you read that correctly. It actually was interesting.
