Nice try, haters.
Did you really think you could keep Demi Lovato down forever?
Or even for more than a few hours?
On Monday evening, the singer went on a Kanye West-like rant, saying farewell to Twitter because she had apparently been receiving flak for “saying sh-t.”
What sort of excrement did Lovato spout that apparently earned her the wrath of critics and trolls?
It’s unclear, though the artist is never afraid to speak her mind.
She recently called out Mariah Carey for being rude, though it seems unlikely such an opinion would really be met with a lot of resistance online.
Might it be Demi’s strong support of the LGBT community that led to her frustration with others on the Internet?
In one of her Tweets, Lovato wondered what is wrong with the world, questioning the topics on which certain folks choose to focus.
However, just 24 hours after declaring herself free from Instagram and Twitter, Lovato made her triumphant return.
Her triumphant and defiant return, we should say, writing the following on her official account:
To this, we say: WELCOME BACK!
The world needs more celebrities such as Demi Lovato; more stars willing to speak on social issues and self-confidence issues and admit to mistakes they made in the past and not just take selfies of their cleavage.
Did Lovato ever really plan on quitting social media?
We doubt it.
Heck, conspiracy theorists point to the fact that her final Tweet on Monday was posted at 3:43 p.m. and her return Tweet was posted at 3:43 p.m. on Tuesday.
Might she simply have scheduled the latter for 24 hours after the former? Yes, it’s very possible.
But whatever. If Lovato was trying to make some kind of grand statement, we’re just glad she went ahead and made it.
You keep doing you, Demi. Let the haters keep hating. And just pity them in the end.
