For months now, we’ve been hearing rumors that Jill Duggar is pregnant with her second child.
Jill and husband Derick Dillard are performing missionary work in El Salvador, so it wouldn’t be hard for them to conceal a pregnancy.
Many fans have noted that Jill’s baby bump appears to be cropped out in the photo below.
Now, however, it seems as though that was simply a deceptive outfit and/or angle, as Jill and Derick recently revealed that they do not currently have a baby on the way.
An article on the Duggar family’s official website (on which all posts are supposedly Duggar-approved) claims that the rumors about Jill and Derick expanding their family are false … for now:
“Are there any Dillard babies on the way? Jill and Derick recently shared that they are not expecting…yet,” the unidentified author writes.
“Since moving down to Central America last year, the couple has expressed an even greater interest in adoption. Rest assured that when an announcement is made, we will share it with you immediately.”
The post comes on the heels of a tweet in which Derick addressed the pregnancy rumors and seemed to refute them.
Many fans breathed a sigh of relief, ad the Dillards have been living in a Zika virus hot zone for most of the past year.
The virus has been shown to result in severe birth defects in the children of infected mothers.
Women in South and Central America have been advised to avoid getting pregnant for the next two years in order to be avoid passing on th illness on to their babies.
We doubt Jill and Der will wait that long (They are Duggars, after all.), but it’s good to know they’re being somewhat cautious.
