Alana Thompson: Honey Boo Boo Turns THIRTEEN!
Though June Shannon was going blind not so long ago, she’s been working to save her vision and she can see well enough to post a birthday shout-out.
Honey Boo Boo herself, Alana Thompson, turned 13 on Tuesday, August 28! She’s growing up so quickly!
Mama June also gave a shout-out to her estranged daughter, Anna — which is a huge step up from last year.
June took to Instagram to give her most famous child a birthday shout-out.
“Ok, I can’t believe how fast our kids grow up…” June writes. “My baby @honeybooboo is officially a teenager today!”
She really is. Feel old yet?
“Please show her some Birthday love,” June implores her fans and followers.
June Shannon shared a video of the birthday girl — a video so brief that we turned it into a .gif for you.
Pumpkin, Alana’s older sister, also showered her sister with some love.
“Happy birthday to my not so little sister!!!” Pumpkin writes.
Folks, that is a remark about her age — that is not a dig at her figure.
Pumpkin continues: “You’ve grown into such a wonderful human being!!”
“I’m so proud of how far you’ve come,” Pumpkin says.
Just last month, we learned that Alana Thompson joined Dancing With The Stars. That’s so exciting for her!
Pumpkin has still more praise for the birthday girl, writing: “I can’t believe you are 13 today!!”
We can’t, either.
“I hope you enjoy your birthday,” Pumpkin writes. “& I promise when you get back home we will celebrate.”
Pumpkin signs off: “Happy birthday from me, Ella, & Josh!!”
Alana is not the only one of June’s daughters who has a birthday on August 28, however.
Her daughter Anna is 11 years older — to the day — than Alana.
Last year, June said nothing publicly on Anna’s birthday, because the two are estranged.
This year, she gave her daughter a shout-out, surprising many fans.
“Happy 24th Birthday to my oldest @annamarie35,” June writes. “As you all know Anna and Alana share the same birthday!”
Anna Cardwell broke off ties with her mother in 2015 after June was seen cozying up to the man accused of molesting Anna when she was a child.
(June’s inexplicable affection for a man many mothers would sooner fire into the sun remains abominably gross, folks, and Anna has every right to move on with her life and never look back)
At the time, Anna also accused June of stealing from her trust fund — to the tune of $ 15,000. Yikes.
Perhaps June’s message is a sign that things are on the mend between mother and daughter. However, we should note that no one has seen any sign of Anna writing back.
At the very least, it looks like an olive branch. A birthday shout-out is the least of what June owes Anna.

Honey Boo Boo: I"m Joining Dancing With The Stars!
Olympics darling Adam Rippon and dance partner Jenna Johnson won Dancing With The Stars in the series’ first athlete-centered season.
We now know what the reality dance competiion series’ next gimmick will be: young stars.
And who better to reportedly join the new season’s list of competitors than one of the world’s most famous child stars, Honey Boo Boo.
Honey Boo Boo’s real name, of course, is Alana Thompson. She was just a little girl when she first rose to fame, but now she is 12 years old. She’ll become a teenager later this year.
And, according to The Blast, Alana Thompson is joining Dancing With The Stars.
They report that Alana has been in Los Angeles for the past week to train for the series.
She has been spotted going in and out of practice over these last several days.
According to all reports, she is apparently taking this very seriously.
This new season will be called Dancing With The Stars: Juniors, and will feature other famous kids.
According to Just Jared Junior, a bunch of familiar dancers headed into the DWTS studio to mentor these young stars.
Per their report, these dancers were Cheryl Burke, Hayley Erbert, Jenna Johnson, Lindsay Arnold, Artem Chigvintsev, Keo Motsepe, Sasha Farber, Gleb Savchenko, Whitney Carson, and Emma Slater.
Just Jared Junior also revealed that a slew of younger professional dancers will be actually dancing with the young stars.
These dancers were Rylee Arnold, Hailey Bills, Brightyn Brems, Artyon Celestine, JT Church, Kami Couch, Tristan Ianeiro, Lev Khmelev, Jake Monreal, Kamri Peterson, Sage Rosen, and Eliana Walmsley.
Mama June Shannon is reportedly in L.A. to support Alana on her Dancing With The Stars journey.
We’ve heard June explain that she has been regaining weight because she’s going blind.
She has recently been living in North Carolina so that she can receive world-class eye treatment at Duke Hospital to save what little eyesight she has left.
If she’s well enough to travel across the country to L.A. to support Alana in her foray into a reality dance competition, then hopefully she is doing better.
It would be nice if she can put that particular health scare behind her.
In recent episodes of From Not To Hot, Alana has seemed to bristle at being coached while preparing to enter a beauty pageant with her mother.
There’s no telling how much of that is Alana being 12, how much of that is her being experienced in pageants, and how much is just for the show.
(Face it, folks — people behave differently when they know that they’re on camera, and it’s not always for the better)
So some fans and viewers are wondering how well Alana will take to being coached on dancing for the series.
But maybe, since she has less experience with (professional) dancing, she’ll be more inclined to heed the advice that she’s given.
To be clear, ABC has not officially announced any part of this upcoming season’s cast list.
But new episodes of Dancing With The Stars: Juniors should air this September at 8pm.
We don’t know which other young stars will be competing alongside Alana, but we are excited to find out!

Honey Boo Boo to Trolls: I"m White! Not Black!
Honey Boo Boo doesn"t understand the criticism she"s been receiving of late.
And she"s hear to say something both confusing and pretty obvious about it.
The 12-year old – who rose to prominence on the reality show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, which chronicled her life as a child beauty pageant contestant – has recently been accused online of "acting black."
We assume this is a reference to how Honey Boo Boo occasionally talks and/or perhaps the gestures she uses while doing so.
We aren"t about to step into very sensitive territory here, but let"s just say it"s not too difficult to imagine what some folks mean when they level the "acting black" accusation at Boo Boo.
(Or at anyone, really.)
Honey Boo Boo (real name: Alana Thompson) doesn"t understand, however.
She"s made that very clear in a new Instagram video.
"Let me just tell ya"ll, someone just told me to stop acting black in my comments," she says below, getting worked up and adding:
"Honey! The last thing I am is black, honey, I"m white. Look at my face, hon. I"m white."
This is empirically accurate.
"And I want to know how the f-ck you act a color?" Alana continues, legitimately unsure how people are saying what they are saying.
"Like, oh you wake up one day and be like, "Hm, let"s see! I"m gonna be purple!"
Not exactly, no. There"s some nuance here that Thompson appears to not comprehend.
We"d say her mother should try to explain it to her, but June Shannon is more focused these days on losing weight than teaching her children.
Alana concludes the video as follows:
"Ho, you can"t act a color. You can be a color, but you can"t act a color."

The Flash Season 4 Episode 12 Recap: Honey, I Shrunk Team Flash
What do you do when some of your team has been shrunk by a meta?
That was the thing much of the team questioned on The Flash Season 4 Episode 12 as Barry remained inside Iron Heights.
When the episode got underway, the mayor was proudly introducing the latest R&D facility that was secure against metas, because metas are all about destruction these days.
In a hilarious turn of events, the facility disappeared, and the mayor could only whine about hating the city.
While Joe and Cisco joined forces to find out what was really going on, they were asked by Barry to help him get Big Sir out of prison.
Wells felt like they needed to take it seriously because Barry has not asked for much since he was put in prison.
The meta they were looking for looked similar to Big Sir all those years ago. It was a little too convenient to take seriously, but logic has never stopped The Flash before.
When Ralph, Cisco, and Joe confront Rundin, he makes an exit into the alley below his apartment. That’s when he decided to shrink both Ralph and Cisco.
Ralph thought he could use his powers to help him back to his normal size, but it resulted in him sitting in pain. Wells made a big blunder and actually almost killed the two of them in the quest to save them.
While Barry tried to help Big Sir, the warden reiterated to him that a prisoner was once stabbed to death after unsuccessfully getting someone out.
Rundin tried to shrink Wells, but Cisco and Ralph were inside his pocket and it allowed them to return to full size and fight another day.
Rundin was not amused when he was arrested and refused to confess to the crime from all those years ago.
This meant Big Sir was not getting out of prison, but there was a big twist in store. The warden had installed a security camera in Barry’s cell and had confirmation that he was The Flash.
He hit up Amunet to let her know he had something great for her. Yeah, it looks like Barry is in the meta wing and he’s going to be in a lot of trouble if everyone fails to save him.
Elsewhere, Cecile was shocked that the dark matter in her brain interfered with her pregnancy in a big way.
She could hear the thoughts of other people, and she did not like what she heard.
Does this mean her child is going to have some sort of power?
We’ll need to wait to find out!

June Shannon & Honey Boo Boo: We Want Another Reality Show!
June Shannon, aka “Mama June,” aka “the worst mother in the history of reality TV with the exception of Michelle Duggar, which is really saying something” has been back in the news lately.
As you may recall, June and her family had a TLC series entitled Here Comes Honey Boo Boo that was canceled in the wake of one of the ugliest reality show scandals in recent memory.
(Again, the Duggars claim the number one spot.)
The Shannons were given the boot after it was revealed that June wad dating the man who molested her daughter and served ten years in prison for the crime.
Not the sort of thing that’s easy to come back from, but Shannon (or, more likely, Shannon’s PR team) is aware that there are two things the public loves as much as the downfall of a widely-reviled celebrity:
A comeback story, and an inspiring “weight loss journey.”
So June lost a ton of weight, and her transformation was featured on an insultingly-titled WeTV series entitled Mama June: From Not to Hot.
Unfortunately for Mama June, the show was a limited-run thing.
(You can’t really center a multi-season reality show around a quick series of medical procedures.)
Even more unfortunately, June reportedly has a plan to extend her second stint in the spotlight – and of course it involves her youngest daughter, Alana, better known as Honey Boo Boo.
Multiple outlets are reporting today that June is trying to negotiate a deal for her Alana to star in her own weight loss series.
June has publicly vowed that her daughters will not “end up” like her in terms of the obesity that’s plagued her adult years, and apparently she sees reality TV stardom as the great motivator.
It’s somewhat ironic, as June’s horrendous habit of plying her daughter with Mountain Dew and junk food is one of the bizarre quirks that drew audiences to the Shannon family in the first place.
Now, Shannon is hoping to use her daughter’s weight and health problems as leverage to get her back on the air, and not surprisingly, she’s already being slammed on social media for what many are calling an appalling act of child exploitation.
Hopefully, June will quickly realize that she’s overplaying her hand and slink back into obscurity.
But something tells us she won’t give up that easily.

Mama June: Sugar Bear is a Bad Father to Honey Boo Boo!
Mama June has a lot going on in her life, what with her new reality show and trying to get people to forget that her last reality show was canceled because she started dating a convicted child molester.
A convicted child molester that molested her child.
She’s also got the lovely Alana Thompson, our beloved Honey Boo Boo Child, to raise, she’s got that big makeover to maintain.
It’s a lot to keep up with, but June is managing.
And she’s even been able to set aside some time to throw all sorts of shade at her ex, Sugar Bear, and his new wife!
As you surely recall — the heart never forgets, does it? — Mama June and Sugar Bear officially broke up in 2015, though they tried to salvage their relationship several times.
Unfortunately, things were too broken between them, what with Sugar Bear’s wandering penis and Mama June’s desire to date child molesters.
And somewhere in all their attempts at reconciliation, Sugar Bear met a woman named Jennifer Lamb.
They dated for nine months, got engaged, waited a few more months, then went and got hitched.
It’s a sweet story — or as sweet a story as you can expect with these people — but Mama June’s not happy about it.
And she did a whole interview just filled to the brim with pettiness.
It seems like Sugar Bear isn’t spending much time with Honey Boo Boo, or at least he’s not doing his part in co-parenting her.
As Mama June tells it, “Sugar Bear is making his own decisions and he’s making his own bed, and he’s going to have to answer to his actions later on with Alana!”
While it would definitely be all sorts of terrible if Sugar Bear really is neglecting his parenting duties, we’re going to have to take what June is saying here with a grain of salt.
And that’s because she actually thought it was appropriate to discuss Sugar Bear’s new wife’s weight.
“I’m just gonna say, she is his type of woman,” she said of Jennifer Lamb — or, as the interviewer described it, she “sniffed.”
“Let’s put it that way. Being bigger. Just everything. He likes bigger girls, like bigger in weight.”
… For real?
We know that June’s whole gimmick these days is losing weight, but why even bring that up? Especially when she’s been a “bigger girl” for most of her life.
And then, when asked if she missed Sugar Bear at all, she laughed and said “Hell no!”
We’d believe that she doesn’t miss him, but is she completely over him?
Well, if she’s giving interviews specifically about him, dragging his new wife and acting like a jilted preteen, we’re going to have to go ahead and say no.
“Hell no,” even.
