Teen Mom OG Recap: Like Icing on a Cake of LIES
MTV’s OGs are back and more dramatic than ever, as Teen Mom OG Season 5 Episode 1 saw multiple cast members go at each other.
Hard.
Maci Bookout and Ryan Edwards’ wife Mackenzie Standifer butted heads over his drug addiction, rehab and custody of son Bentley.
Meanwhile, Catelynn worried about Tyler’s dad showing up now that he’s out on parole, and Farrah celebrated a birthday in New York.
If you watch Teen Mom OG online, you remember last season’s finale and the bizarre parking lot wedding between Ryan and Mackenzie.
Well, she hasn’t given anyone much of an update on how Ryan is doing in rehab – including Maci, who isn’t sure what to tell son Bentley.
On the MTV reunion stage (yes, part of this season premiere’s footage was shot during last year’s reunion) Mackenzie confronted Maci.
How? Claiming she exploited Ryan and his addiction.
Without letting Maci respond, Standifer stormed off the stage … and ran into Amber Portwood, who promptly called her “a f–king c–t.”
Mackenzie, she said, is lucky she has “self-control” now. She’s not wrong; Amber would’ve probably laid her a– out a few years ago.
Later, we saw Mackenzie visit Ryan in rehab, where we learned that he was using (it’s unclear what) up to three times a day at his worst.
To do that, he was blowing through $ 10,000 a week.
Ryan’s main trigger, according to Standifer, is Maci and their previous relationship, so Mackenzie plans on continuing to ice her out.
That’s not going to go over well, since Bookout is the mother of his son, and wants to know when her son will be able to see his father.
On the flip side, Maci feels that if Ryan comes home after 30 days in rehab and doesn’t continue getting help, that’s not good enough.
As such, she won’t let him see Bentley. Wow.
Of course, with the passage of time since this was filmed know Ryan and Mackenzie married again this month … and Maci was there.
So, perhaps they work it all out in the end?
Meanwhile, Farrah Abraham was off in Farrah Abraham land, planning her own b-day party. Her mom was invited, but her fiance was not.
Sounds about right. Farrah’s daughter Sophia told her mom she wanted to see her grandma, but since Debra was with David? No go.
Then David didn’t sign birthday card. Savage.
Later, he did show up at her party and stayed amicable … until he pulled aside Farrah’s dad, who ordered him not to disrespect his daughter.
David then asked if Michael had cheated on Debra when they were married, and Farrah was not happy when she heard about this later.
After the reunion, Amber took comfort in her co-stars after an emotional exchange with Matt, and then went to see a therapist in NYC.
“There’s gonna be a second child,” she was told, and what do you know, Amber confirmed her second pregnancy earlier this month.
The therapist, who is also kind of a psychic somehow, also told her that she feels like she and Matt will get married, so she went 1/2.
Portwood postponed her wedding to Matt Baier and ultimately called things off with him; Andrew Glennon started dating her right after.
Finally, Catelynn Lowell, Tyler Baltierra and little Novalee, 2, picked up the keys to their new house and prepared to see his father, Butch.
That promised to be an emotional reunion.
He’s on parole, after all, and during his visit, he admitted to Tyler that he hasn’t been staying clean – even though he hates himself for that.
Clearly, the situation compounds a lot of anxiety for the couple, and Catelynn later bought a horse to help with her sky-high stress levels.
We now know that Lowell experienced suicidal thoughts of her own that landed her in rehab, of course, and that Tyler needs help too.
These two have always battled heavy, heavy issues; Tyler and Catelynn always find a way to persevere, though. Send them your best.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 8 Episode 2 Recap: Let Them Eat Cake
Cakegate raged on during The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 8 Episode 2, and Siggy Flicker was mad that her $ 1000 cake was thrown around a restaurant.
When the episode got underway, both Siggy and Melissa called their husbands to recap the night. Siggy made it sound like Teresa and Melissa were acting malicious towards her.
Melissa recounted the whole thing to Joe, and he could not help but laugh at the way the ladies were going on about it. Here’s the thing: Siggy did go out of her way to make Melissa’s day special.
She may have said some crazy things, but you don’t throw a cake around someone had custom made for you. That’s just horrible and shows what your character is really like.
The tensions continued to flare when Siggy and Dolores went to a juice bar instead of indulging in some yoga with the ladies. This also meant that Margaret went with Teresa, Melissa, and Danielle.
Margaret shocked the ladies with a surprise ceremony for the women to say goodbye to someone they loved that had lost their lives, and all four women were in tears.
Margaret has immersed herself in this word and has adapted very well. She’s friends with most of the women, and that’s about all she could ask for.
While this happened, Siggy and Dolores talked smack about the ladies. Despite what the ladies did to the cake, it did not give Siggy the right to throw derogatory comments around about everyone.
Margaret and Danielle got talking about the way Siggy kept crying about everything and they decide that she has an emotional twin named Soggy Flicker.
When the ladies met up again, it was clear it was Siggy and Dolores against the rest of the house. Siggy shocked the others by telling them on her friend’s doorstep that they had better behave themselves.
Siggy and Dolores quickly found out about the wreath and got mad, but they were the ones who decided to ditch the party, so they are the ones in the wrong.
Siggy’s friend Lori got Teresa a swimming tutor while the other ladies played tennis. Margaret and Dolores wasted no time in getting into it about what happened.
A dinner party at Siggy’s home that night only caused some more drama for the ladies. Siggy revealed that she was mad about the cake incident and that her friend Lori said she had every right to be.
With everyone arguing, Siggy eventually said that she was betrayed because of how quickly the ladies turned don her when she had tried to make things right with them.
In the end, Siggy and Dolores were left to eat alone because the other four took the hump because they were called Jersey trash.

Joy-Anna Duggar Goes Cake Tasting in Boring New Sneak Peek!
Delicious. That"s all we can say about this new clip from Counting On featuring Joy-Anna Duggar and her future husband Austin Forsyth.
Only literally, though.
In this evening"s installment of TLC’s hit series, the reality star, 19, and her then-fiance, 23, sat down for a pre-wedding rite of passage:
Wedding cake tasting.
That"s right, a major segment of tonight"s show is devoted to Austin and Joy picking out the cake they wanted for their nuptials.
Joy-Anna and Austin got hitched in Rogers, Arkansas, on May 26, just two months after getting engaged, and right after she got pregnant.
Just kidding. (Maybe.)
Anyway, in the sneak peek below, young Duggar talks with the baker and expresses her desire for a three or four-tiered cake.
One that is off-white and “really simple,” she says, though “I’m open to a lot of ideas. I don’t know if I’m going to go more simple or more fancy."
"I’m going to just wait and see,” she added, while Forsyth – expressionless as drywall on his best day – can barely contain his antipathy.
You can hear him yawning all the way from the Natural State … and understand why execs may actually bring back Josh and Anna.
Austin said he was really surprised at how many little details go into every decision for the big day … and not an excited kind of surprised.
“Being engaged and planning our wedding, there are a lot of decisions that have to be made that I never thought of,” he said, adding:
“It was a little more than I ever thought about.”
In that sense, reality stars really are just like us. Any guy who"s ever gotten married has likely been in his shoes in this kind of setting.
Of course, most guys who have gotten married have hugged a woman chest to chest first, but that"s neither here nor there.
Following the big day, which resulted in Joy-Anna Duggar"s baby bump just three months later, they enjoyed a honeymoon in Switzerland.
"Saying our vows and saying "I do" and committing our lives to each other is so incredible," the teen bride gushed at the time.
"I am so blessed to be married to him."
Forsyth added, ”I’m just looking forward to getting to share my life, its good time and its challenges, with my best friend.”
As for their impending baby, which was announced August 30, she said, "Every child is such a precious gift from God."
"I’m most looking forward to watching Austin as a dad and raising children together with him," Joy-Anna said of her man.

Tina Fey and Cake Yelling: See Twitter"s Mixed Reactions!
Before the news broke that Steve Bannon was leaving the White House to spend more time with the other three Horsemen, the biggest political news of the day was Tina Fey"s Cake Sketch from SNL"s Weekend Update.
We"ll be honest — we watched it more than once this morning.
In the video, Tina Fey devours a sheet cake in a frighteningly messy manner while roasting Trump over his horrendous response to the Nazi rally and terrorist attack in Charlottesville that left one dead and dozens more injured over the weekend.
Trump"s initial weak response was bad enough, but to double down on saying that maybe some Nazis are decent folks days later was monstrous.
Personally, I responded to that bewildering press conference by walking to get ice cream with my roommate. According to this bit of sketch comedy, Tina Fey had a similar idea — to cope by devouring an entire cake.
The video has received a mixed reception, however, as some perceived Tina Fey"s skit as suggesting that people shouldn"t counter-protest when Nazis come to town. Tina does basically say that, but it"s part of a skit and some aren"t convinced that we"re supposed to read that as genuine advice.
Others see the entire skit as a parody of people choosing to be inactive in the face of evil. Satirizing people who just "sit out" of conflicts isn"t the same as promoting that way of thinking, right?

Tina Fey Slams Donald Trump on Weekend Update, Eats Cake
Tina Fey made a triumphant, hilarious, emotional and delicious return to Weekend Update on Thursday night.
The former co-anchor of this Saturday Night Live segment appeared opposite Colin Jost and Michael Che to discuss Donald Trump, the events in Charlottesville last weekend and the President"s subsequent reaction.
It should be noted that Fey graduated from the University of Virigina, where a rally organized by White Supremacists took place a week ago.
"It broke my heart to see these evil forces descend upon Charlottesville," Fey said to open her speech, prior to calling out President Trump for his refusal to condemn the violence committed by neo-Nazis at the demonstration.
"[Trump] comes out and he says that he condemns violence on many sides, and I’m feeling sick because I’ve seen Raiders of the Lost Ark and I wasn’t confused by it.
"Nazis are always bad. I don’t care what you say."
Somehow, even in 2017, this is a statement that many people have had to say in response to the President NOT saying anything like it.
Fey then offered advice to those trying to make a difference… and/or simply trying to keep safe.
"I know a lot of us are feeling anxious and asking ourselves, "What can I do?"
"So I would urge people this Saturday, instead of participating in these screaming matches and potential violence, find a local business that you support – maybe a Jewish-run bakery, or an African-American-run bakery.
"Order a cake with the American flag on it like this one and just eat it."
And with that, yes: you better believe Fey tore into a giant sheet cake.
"The next time you see a bunch of white guys in polo shirts screaming about taking our country back – and you wanna scream, "It"s not our country. We stole it from the Native Americans," she explained, adding:
"And when they have a peaceful protest at Standing Rock we shoot at them with rubber bullets, but we let you chinless turds march through the streets with semi-automatic weapons."
"And while you wanna yell that, don"t yell it at the Klan, Colin. Yell it into the cake."
