Charlotte Rae Dies; Facts of Life Star Was 92
Charlotte Rae, the star of two classic and beloved sitcoms, died Sunday at her home in Los Angeles.
She was 92 years old.
The veteran actress revealed in April of 2017 that she had been diagnosed with bone cancer, telling People Magazine at the time:
“About seven years ago, I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer – which is a miracle that they found it because usually it’s too late. My mother, sister and my uncle died of pancreatic cancer.
“After six months of chemotherapy, I was cancer-free. I lost my hair, but I had beautiful wigs. Nobody even knew.”
She added at the time:
“Nobody ever knew. So now, at the age of 91, I have to make up my mind. I’m not in any pain right now. I’m feeling so terrific and so glad to be above ground.
“Now I have to figure out whether I want to go have treatment again or opt for life.”
Rae rose to television fame as Mrs. Garrett (affectionately known as “Mrs. G”) on Diff’rent Strokes, the wise and kind house keeper for Mr. Drummond.
She then played this same role on Facts of Life, which ran from 1979 through 1988.
There’s actually be talk of late of revising this series, which focuses on Mrs. Garrett serving as the caretaker for quartet of students at Eastland School for Young Women.
Rae was born in Milwaukee and got her start in the entertainment industry via the theater and radio.
She first starred on the small screen as Sylvia Schnauser, the wife of Al Lewis’ Officer Leo Schnauser on Car 54, Where Are You?.
Despite her two Tony Award nominations and single Emmy Award nominations, it wasn’t until legendary producer Norman Lear cast Rae in Diff’rent Strokes that her career took off.
Rae proceeded to o guest star on programs such as ER, Pretty Little Liars, Sisters, and The King of Queens, while appearing in films such as Don’t Mess with the Zohan and Tom and Jerry: The Movie.
Her final regular gig was voicing “Nanny” in the animated 101 Dalmations: The Series, which aired from 1997-98.
In 2011, The Facts of Life cast reunited for the TV Land Awards, where Rae took home the Pop Icon award.
In 2015, Rae released a memoir titled The Facts of My Life, which documented her 44 years of sobriety, along with the discovery that that her husband, John Strauss, was bisexual.
Tweeted Todd Bridges, who starred on Diff’rent Strokes as Willis, one of the two kids Mrs. G helped raise:
Different Strokes would not have been the same without you #CharlotteRae. You were loved by everyone on our show and you were loved by everyone on the facts of life will miss you “My heart is full of Pain” Rest in peace my friend.
He added the following as a tribute:
“I love life. I’ve had a wonderful one already,” said Rae 18 months ago after confirming her second cancer diagnosis.
“At 91, every day is a birthday. [In my book] I want to tell everybody to celebrate every day, to savor the day and be good to yourself, love yourself, and then you can be good to others and be of service to others.”
This amazing life has now come to an end.
May Charlotte Rae rest in peace.

Princess Charlotte Kisses Prince Louis and the Internet Collectively Melts
Simply put, photographs may not get any more adorable than this.
On Saturday afternoon, Prince William and Kate Middleton surprised their many millions of fans by sharing two new photos of their precious new bundle of joy.
In the first image, Prince Louis is being cradled and kissed by big sister Charlotte and the resulting image is nearly too cute to handle:
Right?!?!?!?!?!
Little Louis, of course, came into the world on April 23.
Following months of excitement and even speculation that Middleton was pregnant with twins, the Royal Couple announced on a Monday morning that Charlotte and Prince George now have a brother.
“Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 1101 hrs,” read the official Kensington Palace statement at the time.
It then added two key pieces of information:
“The baby weighs 8 lbs 7 oz. The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth.”
Louis was born in Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital in London – where the couple’s other kids were also born – and is dressed in all white for his pair of new photos.
In the one below, Louis is on his own, giving social media users their first true and clear glimpse and his angelic face:
This second photo was reportedly snapped on April 26, when Louis was just three days old.
(And on which Charlotte turned three years old.)
In the past, William and Kate waited about a month before dropping similar professional pictures on the world of their children.
“Their Royal Highnesses would like to thank members of the public for all of the kind messages they have received following the birth of Prince Louis, and for Princess Charlotte’s third birthday,” Kensington Palace announced this week.
Back in early June of 2015, Kate and William unveiled this snapshot of George and Charlotte in a similar pose.
Seriously, do these two know how to make beautiful babies or what?!?
In a brief statement to the media shortly after his second son was born, William said Louis is sleeping about as strongly as one could expect and that his mother was doing pretty “well.”
We’re so very glad to hear it.
Along other Royal lines, we recently learned that Pippa Middleton is also pregnant; while Prince Harry will marry Meghan Markle on Saturday, May 19.
It is unlikely that we will see Prince Louis in public until his christening, however.
Kensington Palace has confirmed that the newborn royal will not be attending the royal wedding.”
Still: Wow, huh?
Talk about crazy and exciting times for all involved.
We wish the very, VERY best to Kate, William and their three kids.
“I don’t know how I’m going to cope with three. I’m going to be permanently tired,” William has said prior to Louis’ birth, echoing the sentiments of nearly every parent out there.
But if anyone can do it, we think he and Kate can pull this off.
And if they ever need babysitting help… hey, we’re just a phone call away!

Charlotte Rae Diagnosed With Bone Cancer
Charlotte Rae has been diagnosed with bone cancer.
The 91-year-old actress confirmed the news in an emotional statement to PEOPLE.
“Last Monday, I found out I have bone cancer,” the Facts of Life star revealed.
“About seven years ago, I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer — which is a miracle that they found it because usually, it’s too late. My mother, sister and my uncle died of pancreatic cancer. After six months of chemotherapy, I was cancer-free. I lost my hair, but I had beautiful wigs. Nobody even knew.
“So now, at the age of 91, I have to make up my mind. I’m not in any pain right now. I’m feeling so terrific and so glad to be above ground,” she explains.
“Now I have to figure out whether I want to go have treatment again to opt for life. I love life. I’ve had a wonderful one already. I have this decision to make.”
She was supposed to start treatment on Thursday, but has confirmed she’s going to think on it for a while.
“I wanted to think about it first,” she says.
“I think I’m going to go for it. The side effects were not too bad when I did it originally. I’ve had a great life, but I have so many wonderful things happening. I’d like to choose life. I’m grateful for the life I’ve already had.”
Charlotte has a career in the industry that dates all the way back to 1954. She got her first big break on The United States Steel Hour as Ramona.
Her most recent appearance was on Disney Channel’s recently canceled, Girl Meets World.
Rae released a memoir in 2015 that chronicled some key events in her life, while confirming that she had a very positive outlook on life.
“At 91, every day is a birthday,” she says. “[In my book] I want to tell everybody to celebrate every day, to savor the day and be good to yourself, love yourself, and then you can be good to others and be of service to others.”

Charlotte McKinney Considers Breast Reduction; World Weeps
If you’re familiar with Charlotte McKinney, it’s probably because of her giant, awesome boobs.
We’re sure the 23-year-old model has many other fine qualities as well, but we’ve never sat down over tea and scones to discuss her thoughts on the global poitical climate.
We have, however, seen Charlotte nude on several occasions, and each time it was glorious.
Sadly, the Charlotte we know and lust after may soon be undergoing a major transformation, and it’s all because people on social media are jackasses.
This is why we can’t have nice things, Internet!
In a surprisingly candid interview with Ocean Drive magazine, Charlotte opened up about being bullied as a teen, and the ways in which the mistreatment at the hands of haters has continued into her adulthood:
“I didn’t have any girlfriends,” McKinney says of her childhood.
“A lot of my friends were guys, and I was called a slut by a lot of people. I was just growing these large breasts at such a young age, not really knowing what to do with them or how to wear them. So it was definitely awkward.”
McKinney adds that the treatment she received from her classmates has left her with lasting psychological scars:
“I also left school because of all of the bullying. Girls would yell at me and call me a slut,” she continued.
“I would go to parties and get beer thrown on my head — there was so much bullying.”
She added:
“It was just so awful, and that’s why now I kind of use my platform to promote anti-bullying.”
Usually, these stories conclude with a happy ending about how adults are so much less hateful and antagonistic.
Unfortunately, this is 2017, a time in which the sort of bullying usually associated with children and teens is still practiced by adults:
“I try to use what I went through to be a voice for it, because it’s still happening and getting even worse now with social media,” McKinney says, adding that she’s considered getting a breast reduction due in part to all the slut-shaming she’s endured online:
“I’ve been thinking about it. They’ve definitely gotten smaller from my diet and over time. So I can see myself getting a reduction or a lift in the future.”
But fear not:
Charlotte says she has no intention of covering up and letting the haters win any time soon.
“I’m always going to be sexy,” McKinney said.
“I’m always going to have those photo shoots, but I’m really looking for different roles that aren’t so commercial and are a bit cooler.”

Charlotte McKinney, Huge Boobs Get Cheated on By Stephen Dorff
For reasons that remain unclear, Charlotte McKinney was in a relationship with actor and professional vape bro Stephen Dorff for over a year.
For reasons that are even more baffling, Dorff was reportedly unfaithful to McKinney and her giant boobs.
In a way, we suppose we should be thanking him, because sources say Dorff’s infidelity has prompted McKinney to kick him to the curb, meaning the woman who is perpetually referred to as “the next Kate Upton” is back on the market.
“He was fooling around with other women,” a source close to the model tells Page Six.
“Charlotte has been dating Stephen for a while, but he carried on texting other women and inviting them over to his house on the beach in Malibu.”
Apparently, the final straw came earlier this month when Dorff enjoyed the company of some very friendly house guests.
“July Fourth weekend … there were all these random people in his house. Charlotte has had enough of him,” the insider says.
The insider adds that Charlotte – who will appear in the upcoming Baywatch movie and just launched a new campaign for Guess – plans to focus on her career and remain single for a while.
Other sources have indicated that Charlotte’s on-again, off-again relationship with David Spade is back on again.
Yes, Ms. McKinney seems to have a thing for guys several decades her senior whom she towers over in heels.
We’re guessing their policy is to just not question it.
Whatever the reason, if you’re middle-aged and a bit on the short side, this could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.
Just make sure you’re a famous millionaire.

It seems everywhere you look these days, there’s nothing but bad news and heated disagreements on everything from who should be president to what sort of punishment one should receive for punching LeBron James in the balls.
Fortunately, there are still a few issues that we can all agree on.
Obviously, chief among them is that fact that Charlotte McKinney’s boobs are huge and awesome.
The model posted the above photo to Instagram yesterday, and though all pictures are worth a thousand words this image requires only one: Daaaaaayum!
She captioned it with something about a modeling shoot for Guess, but really, posting a pic like that and then expecting us to read and comprehend words is asking a bit much.
Alright, so it’s not as epic as the sight of Charlotte McKinney nude.
And it’s certainly not as awesome as Charlotte McKinney nude in GIF form.
But at the end of the day, Charlotte is a model, and well, sometimes models have to wear clothes.
In fact, it’s sort of a key part of their job description.
Obviously, the focal point here is Ms. McKinney’s massive breasts, but a surprising percentage of the comments are devoted to praising her legs.
We guess she’s got something for everyone.

Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge turns one on May 2nd, so what better way to usher in another year of royalty than one"s very own photoshoot.
The Duchess of Cambridge, herself an amateur photographer, took some fantastic pictures of her daughter at the family"s Anmer Hall home in Norfolk, England.
