John McCain Takes Final Jab at Donald Trump from the Grave

On Saturday afternoon, over a year since he was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer, John McCain died at the age of 81.

In the wake of his passing, notes of sorrow, admiration and consolation poured in from across the political spectrum, as perhaps no Senator has ever been more widely respected than McCain, a former prisoner of war.

But there was one person who was noticably absent from this wave of heartelt mourning…

… President Donald Trump.

The Commander-in-Chief reportedly nixed a proposal by The White House to issue a lengthy statement after McCain’s death, one that ran through his impressive list of accomplishments and referred to him as a “hero.”

(Trump has famously quipped on more than one occasion that McCain is not a hero because he was got captured in battle.)

Instead, the President simply Tweeted the following:

“My deepest sympathies and respect go out to the family of Senator John McCain. Our hearts and prayers are with you!”

Some might say this was enough; others might say Trump didn’t mention a single word about the man himself.

Donald J. Trump

At various times throughout the campaign trail over the past several months, Trump had also taken shots at McCain for casting the vote last summer that denied Republicans the chance to repeal Obamacare.

He encouraged crowds to boo a veteran and a politician who was dying of cancer.

On Monday morning, however, McCain got the final word in when it comes to this ongoing feud with the President.

In a moving tribute to America and its citizens, which was read to the public close friend Rick Davis, McCain pretty clearly took a number of jabs at everything Trump stands for.

Take this section, for instance:

We weaken [America] when we hide behind walls, rather than tear them down, when we doubt the power of our ideals rather than trust them to be the great force for change they have always been

Or this section:

We weaken our greatness when we confuse our patriotism with tribal rivalries that have sown resentment and hatred and violence in all the corners of the globe.

These seems like obvious statements, we know.

It says something about Trump and his administration that nearly EVERYone who had read these excerpts interpret them as a direct rebuke of the White House.

Davis foughts back tears as he read the final words of McCain.

And, out of respect for the late Senator and all he accomplished, we are simply going to transcribe them below.

mccain states

May John McCain rest in peace.

My fellow Americans, whom I have gratefully served for sixty years, and especially my fellow Arizonans

Thank you for the privilege of serving you and for the rewarding life that service in uniform and in public office has allowed me to lead. I have tried to serve our country honorably. I have made mistakes, but I hope my love for America will be weighed favorably against them.

I have often observed that I am the luckiest person on earth. I feel that way even now as I prepare for the end of my life. I have loved my life, all of it. I have had experiences, adventures and friendships enough for ten satisfying lives, and I am so thankful.

Like most people, I have regrets. But I would not trade a day of my life, in good or bad times, for the best day of anyone else’s.

I owe that satisfaction to the love of my family. No man ever had a more loving wife or children he was prouder of than I am of mine. And I owe it to America.

To be connected to America’s causes — liberty, equal justice, respect for the dignity of all people — brings happiness more sublime than life’s fleeting pleasures.

Our identities and sense of worth are not circumscribed but enlarged by serving good causes bigger than ourselves.

‘Fellow Americans’ — that association has meant more to me than any other. I lived and died a proud American. We are citizens of the world’s greatest republic, a nation of ideals, not blood and soil.

We are blessed and are a blessing to humanity when we uphold and advance those ideals at home and in the world. We have helped liberate more people from tyranny and poverty than ever before in history.

We have acquired great wealth and power in the process.

We weaken our greatness when we confuse our patriotism with tribal rivalries that have sown resentment and hatred and violence in all the corners of the globe.

We weaken it when we hide behind walls, rather than tear them down, when we doubt the power of our ideals, rather than trust them to be the great force for change they have always been

We are three-hundred-and-twenty-five million opinionated, vociferous individuals. We argue and compete and sometimes even vilify each other in our raucous public debates.

But we have always had so much more in common with each other than in disagreement. If only we remember that and give each other the benefit of the presumption that we all love our country we will get through these challenging times.

We will come through them stronger than before. We always do.

Ten years ago, I had the privilege to concede defeat in the election for president. I want to end my farewell to you with the heartfelt faith in Americans that I felt so powerfully that evening.

I feel it powerfully still.

Do not despair of our present difficulties but believe always in the promise and greatness of America, because nothing is inevitable here. Americans never quit.

We never surrender. We never hide from history. We make history.

Farewell, fellow Americans. God bless you, and God bless America.

Ami Brown: Out of the Hospital, Still in Grave Condition

We have some relatively good news, Alaskan Bush People fans:

Ami Brown is out of the hospital.

The matriarch of the family at the center of this Discovery Channel reality show, Brown was diagnosed several months ago with lung cancer.

And it’s very serious.

The disease has reached Stage 4 and the prognosis is grim. That’s the bad news here:

Even with Brown out of the hospital and free from doctor supervision for a bit, the Facebook page “Alaskan Bush People Exposed” writes that the star remains weak and frail.

“Ami update: She is not in the hospital, however chemotherapy / radiation has taken its toll on her, and she is not well enough to start filming yet,” the account wrote on Monday, adding:

“Filming has been delayed. They are still in CA except for Noah and Rhain/Ruth. They were spotted in Idaho of all places!”

ab update

In order to find Ami the best medical care possible, her husband and most of her children relocated from their famous remote enclave in Alaska to southern California, at least for a few weeks.

There’s been talk that Alaskan Bush People Season 8 will find the Browns in Colorado, but nothing has been confirmed just yet.

Not even whether or not there even will be an Alaskan Bush People Season 8.

A lot will depend on Ami, of course, who is tragically not expected to live for very much longer.

An earlier report, for example, claimed Brown was on her death bed.

But she’s still here. That has to mean something. And we’re like to remain as hopeful as Ami herself has been throughout this ordeal.

“Worrying about it only makes it worse,” Ami told People Magazine this summer of her condition, adding at the time:

“There is hope and that hope is having faith in God. You can’t give up. I tell people be happy. Just be happy. It’s a choice.

“Things can be hard and you just want to curl up but you have to shine.”

What an admirable attitude, right?

It’s one her family members are trying to emulate, but it’s difficult under these circumstances.

“She’s the strongest person I know, so if she’s saying it hurts, it really hurts,” Billy Brown also told People several weeks back.

He continued in his interview as follows:

“She tries to hide it from everybody but four or five times a day she bends over like a baby and cries.”

We really can’t imagine what this family is going through.

Forget Season 8 of their show and forget what the future may or may not hold for them in front of the camera.

We’re simply sending our thoughts and prayers to Ami as she does battle with this awful illness. We wish her nothing but the best.

Farrah Abraham Visits Derek Underwood"s Grave, Still Gets Hate

Look, Farrah Abraham can be a sincerely awful person. You know it, we know it, everybody knows it.

But sometimes, every once in a while, she gets a whole lot of criticism for no real reason.

And that’s sad.

It’s especially sad this time, because Farrah’s latest “offense,” according to several Instagram users, is visiting the grave of Derek Underwood.

Derek was Farrah’s boyfriend, and he fathered little Sophia.

He died in a car accident while Farrah was pregnant, and though they weren’t dating at the time, it was still devastating for her, which is understandable.

Since Sophia was little, Farrah’s made sure that she remembers Derek. They visit his grave from time to time, they talk about him.

Teen Mom’s hottest mess has messed up a lot of things, but we can’t really fault her for the way she’s handled this tough situation.

Unfortunately, we can’t say the same for Farrah’s Instagram followers.

When she shared the photo from Derek’s grave, writing “Happy Birthday Daddy Derek! We all love you so much thank you for always watching over us,” the haters came out in full force.

Several people commented that Derek is probably “glad he’s dead,” because he “dodged a bullet” with Farrah — those exact phrases were used multiple times.

One person told her “U should die like him,” with another writing “Should’ve been you.”

“I’d die too if I had to be forever associated with you,” one heartless follower said.

“He’s probably rolling in his grave on how you are raising his daughter.”

“If he would still be alive he would be ashamed of you as a selfish mom.”

“He was probably drunk and driving recklessly because of Farrah.”

That’s just a small sample of the kind of hateful, completely uncalled for comments she’s been getting.

One person even had the nerve to comment with “Apparently her mom didn’t bust her in the mouth hard enough when she was a teen,” referring to the time that Farrah’s mother, Debra Danielsen, was arrested for assaulting her.

A good amount of Instagram users even took issue with Derek’s grave itself, saying that Farrah should spend some of her fortune to upgrade his headstone.

(Which, if you’ve watched early seasons of Teen Mom, probably wouldn’t be possible anyway — Derek’s family has always been very protective of his memory.)

Thankfully, a few people were able to chime in with voices of reason.

“Seriously not a time to be disrespectful,” one such person wrote. “A child lost her father. You don’t have to be a fan of hers. But don’t do this kind of stuff on this post. It’s not fair.”

And it truly isn’t, is it? Farrah didn’t cause Derek’s death, she’s not responsible for his headstone, and it’s beyond disgusting to suggest that Derek’s spirit is somewhere, happy to be rid of her.

As for those that tried to tell Farrah that she should have been the one to die … there really are no words.

Just do better, everyone. It really won’t be difficult to do better than this.

Frances Bean Cobain and Courtney Love: Kurt Cobain Would Be Rolling Over in His Grave!

If Kurt Cobain were still alive and kicking, he’d be thrilled to see his daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, and former wife, Courtney Love, playing nice and looking gorgeous.

The two were spotted out together at Seth Rogen’s Hilarity for Charity Event in Los Angeles over the weekend, and it’s really hard to say who looked hotter.

The two were photographed a few weeks ago at a fashion event in Paris, looking just as fierce.

It’s easy to see that whatever bizarre, disturbed fences were broken in the past are, at least for now, mended.

Frances is looking like the female version of her father, while Courtney’s looking … well, perhaps the best she ever has.

While Frances was previously accused of some nasty, hoarder-type habits, they don’t seem to be overflowing into her appearance.

According to a source, FBC is a compulsive shopper and thusly, her house was close to uninhabitable.

“The weird truth is that Frances Cobain’s house is virtually unlivable because of [her] hoarding,” the mole revealed.

“Frances spends her days doing lots and lots of online shopping.”

“Virtually every room is filled with boxes of stuff Frances has ordered from online retailers and never even bothered to open,” the source continued.

Hey, you know, some people are addicted to heroin and pills and alcohol … ol’ Frances Bean Cobain is fairly okay if this is the worst of her troubles.

She’s even looking much healthier – and not nearly as emaciated – than she had in previous years.

FBC hit a red carpet event with her mother in April 2015 where she looked thin, wan, and tired.

What a stunning improvement compared to today’s photos, right?

And speaking of stunning improvements, check out mama.

Love isn’t a stranger to plastic surgery.

She previously had a boob job in the past, and with all of the drugs that she likely put up her nose, there had to be some facial reconstruction done there.

Despite whatever she might’ve done, though, things are working for her lately.

And hey – we can start counting our blessings in 3, 2, 1 … because Courtney apparently stopped with the onslaught of Facebook nudes

For now.

Small steps, y’all. That’s all we can hope for with this one.

Pretty Little Liars Season 7 Episode 3 Recap: Grave News

It happened, Pretty Little Liars fans.

It really happened on Pretty Little Liars Season 7 Episode 3.

We got an actual answer!

In a truly shocking twist, viewers discovered on Tuesday night the identity of the person the gals were burying on Pretty Little Liars Season 7 Episode 1.

Got a drum roll handy?

The answer is… Elliott!

As it turns out, this lover of latex was mowed down by Hannah as she and her friends searched through the woods for Allison… who had just escaped from her captor’s clutches.

Was anyone surprised by this reveal? Disappointed? Elated?

On the relationship front, Caleb tried his hardest to convince Spencer she really is The One.

Yes, he’ll always have feelings of some kind for Hanna, but Spencer is the person he wants to be with.

It wasn’t the most romantic speech in history and it didn’t win Spencer over.

Oh, and Toby is engaged to Yvonne!

Emily, meanwhile, kept us entertained via her bartending gig at Radley.

She initially got turned down by Sabrina, only to later land a date after opening way up about her life.

Do Emily and Sabrina have a real future together? We all know Paige is on her way back into the picture, so we’re gonna go ahead and just say no to the that question.

The biggest clue from the hour involved Aria and Hanna driving out of town to learn more about Elliott.

Once in Amish Country, they met a young girl named Eliza. She showed them the dolls given to her by Charlotte.

Naturally, these dolls were named Aria, Emily, Hanna, Ali and Emily.

As they played with the creepy toys, Eliza told Aria and Hanna that she witnessed Elliott and Charlotte kissing once.

At the property owner’s sudden request, our two heroines started to leave …when Hanna noticed a cattle prod and realized it was the same weapon her kidnapper used on her.

YIKES.

Aria stared at the prod with a horrified look on her face and vowed:

“Elliott will pay for what he did to you.”

Arrow Season 4 Episode 18 Recap: Who"s in the Grave?!?

We have our answer, Arrow fans.

Following a season opening tease that featured Oliver standing over the grave of an unknown character, Arrow Season 4 Episode 18 revealed the identity of this character.

It’s Laurel Lance.

She’s dead.

As Team Arrow set out to stop Damien Darhk’s Malcolm Merlyn-assisted prison break this week, viewers learned that Laurel (also known, of course, as The Black Canary) was the one on the wrong end of a different kind of arrow.

Darhk even twisted the weapon into her good for food, violent, painful measure.

Later, at the hospital, Oliver’s former love interest and long-time close friend succumbed to her wound, although not before bidding Oliver and others an emotional goodbye.

“I was OK with it,” original cast member Katie Cassidy told reporters at a screening earlier this week.

“We all sort of came to an understanding that this is what was going to happen, and it made sense to me.”

The actress assumes there will be significant “shock value” to come out of Laurel’s murder and thinks that can only be a positive thing as Arrow Season 4 forges ahead.

“It’s such a turn in the story that it gives them so much more to do and places to go with it,” she said. “Otherwise, I feel like shows can get stale.”

As for how Cassidy wants her character to be remembered?

As “such a good person [who] had such a good heart and was a fighter.”

Are you sad to see the Black Canary go? Surprised?

Sound off in the Comments section below and go watch Arrow online if you want to see how these fatal events transpired.
