James Corden Just Pretended to Bang Anna Kendrick
Anna Kendrick was not invited to drive in a vehicle with James Corden and sing any sort of carpool karaoke on Wednesday night.
But that doesn"t mean the actress didn"t get involved in a hilarious musical segment with the CBS host.
Instead of singing opposite Corden in a car, though, Kendrick starred with the actor and comedian on set, acting out the various stages of a relationship through song.
This medley of various pop love singes was dubbed Soundtrack to a Love Story.
True to the roots of both (as theater kids), Corden and Kendrick didn’t merely cycle through the canon of modern pop love songs… they also moved between outfits and miniature sets.
They basically put on their own version of multiple plays, all over the course of a few minutes.
It was rather impressive.
Oh, and did we mention they did The Robot?
Kendrick opened the skit with Aretha Franklin’s “I Say a Little Prayer,” as she acted as a woman putting on makeup and preparing for a date.
From there, Corden came in with Chris Burgh’s “Lady in Red,” as the two moved to a bar scene.
There was also some dancing to “I Can’t Feel My Face” and the stars actually getting into bed for Boyz II Men’s “I’ll Make Love to You."

Kendrick Lamar Makes Serious Statement at 2016 Grammy Awards
Kendrick Lamar made quite a statement at the 2016 Grammy Awards.
The superstar, who was nominated in 11 categories and who took home the trophy for Best Rap Album, came out on stage in chains, with four black dancers behind him, for a rendition of "The Blacker the Berry."
The backup dancers infused elements of African traditional dance into the politically-charged performance, with Lamar concluding via a fury of verses.
At one point, the lights dimmed and a large image of Africa appeared, emblazoned with the word Compton.
It wasn"t exactly subtle.
But it was awfully impressive.
Just how memorable was Lamar"s set?
Adele performed after the rapper and ended her time on stage by saying, "Kendrick, you"re amazing."
Lamar likely gave the best, most impassioned performance of the night, but these others stood out as well:
- Justin Bieber showed off impressive vocal range with an acoustic rendition of "Love Yourself."
- Lady Gaga paid amazing tribute to David Bowie with a nine-song medley.

Anna Kendrick: I Want to Bang the Entire Cast of Grease Live!
We already knew Anna Kendrick is awesome, and we figured Grease: Live would be pretty cool, but we had no idea how fabulous the combination of those two things could be.
No, Kendrick didn’t take the stage to hand-jive with the rest of the cast (except in our dreams), but she did live-tweet the entire broadcast, and her critiques are as hilariously NSFW as you could hope.
Kendrick’s live tweets are always a joy, but she was particularly on point last night. Some highlights:
