Ferris Wheel Tragedy: 3 Girls Fall From Ride, 1 In Critical Condition
A ferris wheel at the Green County Fair malfunctioned on August 8th, causing three riders to fall thirty feet.
The victims were three girls – two sisters, age 6 and 10, and a 16-year-old.
The six-year-old remains in critical condition after suffering traumatic brain injury from the fall.
Yesterday, Johnson City Medical Center"s director of trauma services Dr. Bracken Burns updated reporters on her status.
According to Dr. Bracken Burns, director of trauma services for Johnson City Medical Center, the youngest of the victims, a 6-year-old, suffered the head injury and had to be intubated at the scene and taken to a hospital.
"She has been under the continual care of the pediatric surgery service, the pediatric intensive care unit team as well as the neurosurgery team," Dr. Burns explained during a press conference.
The girl"s older sister sustained injuries to her forearm. The oldest victim"s condition has improved from critical to stable, though her family requested that further details not be released.
The accident happened around 6:15 p.m. local time, when police confirmed that the riders fell out of the car they were in when it flipped.
"One of the cars or baskets had overturned and three children had fallen out. They fell a distance of anywhere between 35 and 45 feet," Greenville police department captain Capt. Tim Davis told reporters, according to NPR.
One witness,Gregory Lynthacum spoke ABC News as well, recalling the horror he witnessed.
"I was hollering, "Please stop! Stop! Stop the machine!" It seemed like it was a millennium before it stopped," Lynthacum said.
"I"d seen blood coming from their mouth. I actually thought they were dead. It was so horrific."
Authorities have not yet figured out what caused the malfunction, but prior to the accident, the Greeneville Sun reported that the amusement company that owns the ferris wheel was fined for safety-related violations in North Carolina in 2013.
Family Attractions Amusement was accused of tampering with a ride"s "safety feature" after it malfunctioned, so that it would continue to run.
The accident occurred just one day after a 10-year-old Kansas boy was decapitated by a water slide.

Jenelle Evans Lets Jace Ride Dirt Bikes: Are Her Kids in Danger?!?
Jenelle Evans recently took a photo of her son, Jace getting ready to ride a dirt bike.
Naturally, I freaked TFO out along with a few other concerned citizens at the sight of Jace with a dirt bike.
However, it turns out that kids as young as 10 can ride, so long as they’re taught how to use it, along with safety precautions.
Jace turned 7 on August 2nd, and the culture in his mom’s hometown may support kids getting on dirt bikes at an early age.
All it took was one person to ask if it was safe for someone as young as Jace to start riding.
“most kids start way younger than 7….my partner races off-road and started at 4,” one person commented on the photo after another asked if 7 was too young to start riding.
“Noo way. Not to young at all. Many kids start even younger than 7 :),” a second person agreed.
“Gotta learn somehow!” another wrote. “I rode horses before I could walk! Stupid people.”
One person helpfully pointed out that Maci Bookout’s son, Bentley also rides.
“Maci [sic] son has been riding a dirt bike since he was like 3 and nobody bats an eye. Jenelle let’s her son at 7 and people go crazy.”
OK, so it’s clear that Jace has the green light to ride off into the sunset (and be home by dinner).
“My son started out at two on his PW50 he will be 3 in 2months,” another follower wrote on Instagram It just depends on the parents, but she should really have better boots on him that’s for sure.”
Another person brought up the time Adam Lind took his and Chelsea Houska’s daughter, Aubree on a dirt bike. Aubree came home with a minor knee injury and informed Houska that she wasn’t wearing a helmet at the time.
So, it turns out that a few of the Teen Mom children are capable of riding dirt bikes, which is officially MTV’s legacy.

... And This is Why Kids Should Never Ride Hoverboards
We have a question, Internet:
Has a viral hoverboard video ever ended well?
Have you ever been sent footage of someone riding one of these contraptions and the person on it is just having a blast and then it comes to a nice, safe stop and everyone is fine?
No? We didn"t think so.
And that"s not what takes place in the following video, either.
It begins innocently enough, with two little girls (who we presume to be sisters) hanging out at home, one of them riding on the hoverboard in question.
But then it starts to spin. A lot. And it doesn"t stop spinning.
“I seriously can’t stop,” the girl cries out as the board spins faster. “I’m serious!”
The other girl moves in to offer assistance… but the hoverboard then zooms off and slams the first child into a wall with a thud.
We assume she"s okay, so it"s safe to laugh.
Especially when you hear her initial reaction and what she says to her sister.
(NOTE: Earlier this year, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said that no hoverboard currently on the market meets its safety standards, according to CNET. Something to keep in mind, parents.)

Dan Bilzerian Begins LA-to-Vegas Bike Ride With Millions in Bets on the Line
If you’re not familiar with Dan Bilzerian, just imagine if a syringe full of anabolic steroids came to life, inherited a ton of cash, developed a complex after realizing its only 5’5″, and started an Instagram page to prove to the world that despite outward appearances, it’s actually a total badass.
If that’s too abstract, just think of any 35-year-old bro who copes with his insecurities by calling everyone p–sies and risking his life with insane stunts:
That’s Bilzerian embarking on a 300-mile bike ride from Los Angeles to Las Vegas.
Why? Well, as we learned earlier this month, the professional poker player and self-proclaimed “king of Instagram” recently bet hedge fund manager Bill Perkins $ 1.2 million that he could complete the trek in less than 48 hours.
Factoring in his many side-bets – including one with entrepreneur and frequent Pam Anderson spouse Rick Salomon in which he put his private jet on the line – Bilzerian has several million at stake.
In fairness, that’s pretty badass – or at least at would be, were it not for two mitigating factors:
- Bilzerian is traveling with two chefs, a masseuse, doctor, bike mechanic, army of assistants and full police escort for a retinue that totals over two dozen.
- Bilzerian has suffered four heart attacks in recent years, which kinda makes this whole venture less badass and more dumbass.
“I don’t know how I’m going to feel,” recently told The Hollywood Reporter. “I think it’s physically doable, but obviously it’s going to be hell.
“I understand I could die out there. I’ve got to be on point.”
Obviously, we don’t think it’s the greatest idea for “Blitz” to be putting his life on the line, but it’s nice that no LA porn stars will be thrown from any roofs for the next couple days.
Plus, he’ll probably be too tired when he gets back. Bonus.
We’ll keep you updated on Bilzerian’s progress over the next 48 hours.

My Silent Bravery Covers Nelly"s "Ride Wit Me," Delivers Major Early-2000s Nostalgia
If the current state of the world has you longing for a simpler time when Y2K was our biggest security concern and rappers wore blinged-out Band-Aids under their eyes for some reason, have we got a treat for you.
There"s a good chance you"re already familiar with the Boston-based band My Silent Bravery.
After all, the band has recently toured with Emerson Hart, Meiko, Tyler Hilton, Kate Voegele, Lee DeWyze, and Aaron Carter, just to name a few.
But for those of you still in need of an introduction, we welcome you to check out their fantastic new cover of the 2001 Nelly classic "Ride Wit Me."
The song is a fun, funny rendition of one of this century"s most beloved club bangers.
As a bonus, some of our younger readers might walk away with an understanding of the aughts" most heavily-bandaged rappers.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 8 Episode 4 Recap: Bachelorette Boat Ride From Hell
The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 8 Episode 4 featured some emotional sit downs, an unexpected guest, and the party boat ride from hell.
Which Bravolebrities were involved in which development(s)?
Picking up where we left off last week, The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 8 Episode 4 found Kenya trying to mend fences with Sheree.
While that relationship showed some (we didn’t say much) potential for growth, another was falling apart at the seams: Porsha and Duke.
When the Duke was MIA for their Skype “date,” Porsha confided in Phaedra Parks, who was quick to tell her what she felt was going on.
“If he is not building you up, honey, he’s like a dead weight around your neck,” her co-star enlightened her. “Everything runs its course.”
She seemed to see the light, as well … after she threw an insane party to introduce him to all of her friends, but better late than never?
Elsewhere, the pregnant Kandi Burruss and Cynthia Bailey met up for a rather serious conversation about love, business and marriage.
Both when have had their marital issues, as you know if you watch The Real Housewives of Atlanta online. Will Cynthia’s union last?
We’re left with a glimmer of hope, albeit a very slight glimmer.
On to happier topics, Kim Fields dropped by Phaedra’s so their kids could have a play date, and give them a chance to interact on camera.
The women bonded about what Kim’s “boobage” at Kenya’s hair care launch party, and finding their own identities, separate from family.
She did not have to wait long, because Kenya decided to throw a bachelorette party for Cynthia on a boat … yes, you read that correctly.
Given that Cynthia is already married, and unhappily to boot, we have no earthly idea how this qualifies, but a bachelorette boat ride it is.
On hand were Kenya, Cynthia, Kim, Kandi, Porsha, Posha’s pal Shamea and Cynthia’s friend Tammy, who is BFFs with Sheree’s ex Bob.
Soon enough, the laid back vibes faded as Kenya took Porsha to task for bringing Shamea without asking, then got into it with Shamea.
Fortunately, we did not see Porsha Williams beat down Kenya Moore a second time, but the latter did make threats against her friend.
“I’m going to have the captain escort you off my boat. This is my party,” Kenya told Shamea. “If you want to take the shortcut, you can jump.”
Was it not Cynthia’s bachelorette party? Just trying to clarify here.
There was also a convo in which Tammy described her husband as “Nazi white” and hounded Kandi about working with her rapper son.
It was an interesting day on the boat, and that was before Porsha said, “Whatever, Bitch,” to Cynthia during a moderately tense exchange.
Bailey lost her mind, and while Porsha insisted she was using the word as a term of endearment, a heated Cynthia took it as an insult.
Next week’s previews show Porsha on the ground, being held down by the production crew, so this one clearly escalates pretty quickly.

Kanye West -- Rough Ride at Hollywood Bowl (VIDEO)

Kanye got a refresher course in the value of rehearsals Friday night at the Hollywood Bowl, when things didn’t go according to plan.
Kanye kicked off the first of a 2-night stand at the famed venue, where he performed all his songs from “808’s and Heartbreak.”
The first half of the show was flawless, but the Gremlins burrowed their way in as the show went on. The tracks were out of sync with Kanye, and at one point (see video) Kanye orders the music to stop.
We’re told Kim’s hubby was late for rehearsal Thursday and because of noise restrictions when he finally arrived they sent him home.
Kanye made a passing reference to the problem, when he said Friday night, “This is the best dress rehearsal I’ve ever had.”
