Matt Brown Checks Out of Rehab, Vows to Remain Sober
Back in September, Alaskan Bush People star Matt Brown checked himself into rehab after a family intervention.
Now there is some very promising news that is sure to please the entire Brown family.
Matt is out of rehab!
RadarOnline reports that Matt Brown is freshly out of rehab, which he had entered to get a handle on his drinking.
“Matt voluntarily checked himself out of rehab in late October,” reveals an insider close to the Brown family.
“And,” the source shares. “He is continuing outpatient treatment at a nearby facility.”
That is very good to know — sometimes, a relapse right after leaving rehab is a risk.
Outpatient treatments can help provide continued support.
“He is doing really good right now,” the insider says.
“And,” the source elaborates. “He is committed to his sobriety.”
“His family is very proud of him,” the insider adds.
That is no surprise. Sobriety can be difficult to achieve.
The Brown family loves and supports Matt and they know how difficult it can be to overcome a substance abuse issue.
There’s more to leaving rehab than the support of your family — though that, of course, is important.
“Matt has been attending recovery meetings,” the source says.
The insider says that Matt has used these peer groups “and has been working with a sober coach.”
We previously reported that Matt would hire a sober coach, even when he was still in rehab.
A sobriety coach can provide one-on-one assistance that a support group often cannot.
The source says that Matt is doing all of this “as well as going to therapy and counseling to battle his addictions.”
It’s great that Matt is recovering and is on a path to avoid a relapse.
The reason that he (once again) struggled with alcohol abuse was, as is usually the case, self-medication.
It was explained that he started drinking as a “way to deal with his mother Ami’s cancer diagnosis.”
There were times last year when everyone — including the Brown family — believed that Ami would die from lung cancer.
The odds were stacked against her, but she defied all expectations.
But the stress of her cancer battle — and the health scares that followed — exacted a toll on her loved ones, including Matt.
As we previously reported, Matt Brown was feeling “ready to leave” after only a few weeks of rehab.
“Matt thinks that he is ready to leave after 30 days and everyone is urging him to stay in,” a worried source revealed at the time.
“He says that he is almost ready and can handle this on his own now,” that insider added.
According to reports, he wisely remained until he had completed his 30-day stint.
He was also sure to line up all of these safeguards so that he could continue to maintain his health.
This was Matt’s second time having to fight an uphill battle to regain his sobriety.
The first time was in 2016.
At that time, he became more withdrawn and realized that his behavior and drinking were caught in a downward spiral.
Fortunately, Matt has a very supportive family — and the resources to afford first-rate care and counseling to tackle this issue head-on.

Matt Brown, Alaskan Bush People Star, Checks Into Rehab
Matt Brown has taken the first step in his hopeful path to recovery.
The Alaskan Bush People star has admitted he needs help.
Speaking to People Magazine, the Discovery Channel personality says he is checking into rehab for the second time in order to receive assistance for a dependency on alcohol.
“I struggle with substance abuse, and after a year of ups and downs, I decided to return to treatment,” the oldest Brown son tells the publication in this week’s issue.
He adds:
“I’m really grateful for everyone’s support and hope to have my life back on track soon.”
The reality star first entered a treatment facility of this nature in the spring of 2016.
What made him realize that he had to try again and that he had to turn his life around?
“I could see myself spiraling,” Brown explains, acknowledging that he had been spending more and more time drinking over the previous year.
“I was more withdrawn. I was slower. Things didn’t excite me the way they used to.”
On a recent episode of Alaskan Bush People, Matt got injured while helping to build the family’s new residence.
Overall, meanwhile, the Browns have been through a whole lot over the past two years; most notably, of course, the loved ones have been dealing with matriarch Ami’s very serious lung cancer diagnosis.
It was believeed for awhile that Ami would not survive the Stage 4 illness, but she remains a major part of the series and of the family.
Due to her need for medical care, however, the Browns have left Alaska and settled in rural Washington.
Now, they’ll be without Matt for an unspecified period of time.
(It’s unclear at the moment just where Matt will receive treatment and for how long he will be there.)
“It’s hard not having one of my babies here with us,” says Ami, who is now cancer-free, yet has been informed she should undergo tests every three months for the rest of her life.
“He was so strong for me, and I want to be strong for him,” she adds to People.
“We miss him terribly, but we’d rather lose him from home for a little while than lose him forever,” dad Billy says.
“We just want him to do what he needs to do to get better.”

Ben Affleck Checks Into Rehab for Third Time
A week that started with Ben Affleck seemingly on top of the world, or at least on top of a Playboy model named Shauna Sexton, is sending with the actor possibly hitting rock bottom.
He has once again checked into rehab.
The actor will be seeking professional assistance for his addiction to alcohol, a source has confirmed to People Magazine.
“He is seeking treatment. He knew he needed help and was vocal about it,” says this insider.
Multiple outlets say basically the same thing: Affleck was open to treatment and well aware he was in trouble.
This decision came just two days after paparazzi snapped photos of what appeared to be a box of alcohol being delivered to Affleck’s home…
… and it was also strongly influenced by Affleck’s famous ex-wife, Jennifer Garner.
The actress was seen leaving Affleck’s home on Wednesday, visibly upset and shaking.
She then returned to this residence later in the day; at which time, Garner, Affleck and an unidentified woman who arrived at the actor’s house with her were photographed in a car Garner was driving.
TMZ reports that Garner was dead set on convincing her ex that he needed this trip to rehab, but that Affleck was open to it nearly as soon as their discussion started.
As previously stated, Affleck knew he had fallen off the wagon weeks ago and could not continue down this path.
He has reportedly drove straight to a “live-in rehab facility” with Garner “and will check in for an extended period of time,” per TMZ.
Garner filed for divorce in April of 2017, two years after the stars announced their split.
However, the former couple has remained extremely close, even prompting various rumors of a reconciliation, mostly for the sake of raising their three kids.
The divorce is not yet final.
Garner is pretty much the most mature, reasonable and saintly woman in Hollywood, by everything we can tell.
On Monday, Affleck was seen outside of his Palisades home wearing a gray T-shirt and sweatpants as he picked up a Pacifico beer-branded box filled with Johnnie Walker Blue Label scotch whisky in a blue case, along with some other unidentifiable bottles.
Sexton, perhaps by coincidence, is on record as saying her favorite drink is whisky.
Affleck started seeing this model very recently, not long after he ended a year-long romance with Saturday Night Live producer Lindsay Shookus.
He has never really talked publicly about her and hasn’t said much about his split from Garner, either.
Just prior to his 46th birthday on August 15, a friend of the actor told People that “Ben is doing well,” adding of his personal struggles:
“He continues to focus on himself and the health of his relationships.
“He attends meetings, many meetings, and he also does meditation and yoga.
“While he still has his moments – and let’s be honest, everyone struggles – he continues to work hard on himself.”
Affleck previously checked into rehab in 2001 and also just this past December.

Catelynn Lowell Checks into Rehab AGAIN: What Happened?!
Catelynn Lowell"s story just keeps getting sadder and sadder — which is saying a lot, if you know how her story began.
From placing her daughter up for adoption to dealing with emotionally abusive addict parents, she and her longtime love, Tyler Baltierra, have been through a lot together.
And it looks like she"s finally getting started on working through all those hard times — she"s already back in rehab for a third time.
If you"re a little confused, don"t worry. It"s a confusing story.
So let"s get to it …
1. Hard Times
Catelynn has always struggled with depression and anxiety, but she also suffered from postpartum depression after giving birth to her daughter Nova. Things got so bad that in March of 2016, she checked into a treatment center for the first time.
2. Realizations
As we saw on Teen Mom OG, her issues became too much for her after purchasing a pet pig on a whim. After bringing it home, she realized how much care he needed, and it proved to be a little too much for her in her current state. The next day, she told an MTV producer that “I just feel like I need help. ‘Cause I wasn’t really feeling good this morning, and I was having a little bit of anxiety last night …I just broke down and I was like, ‘You know what, I’m not OK … I do need mental help, something’s just not right."”
3. Off to Rehab
So she went off to a facility in Arizona to get that help — as she explained in an interview after her treatment was finished, “I went for just mental illness, panic attacks and depression and I was there for 30 days. It went well, they taught me lots of different things, I learned lots of good things.”
4. More Hard Times
Unfortunately, even after coming home from rehab she still struggled a lot with her depression. As we saw on the show, she went back to barely being able to get out of bed some days, and it really put a strain on her marriage.
5. Looking Up!
At some point this year though, things seemed like they were going better for Catelynn. She and Tyler appeared to be more in love than ever, and they even started talking about having another child!
6. Not So Fast …
That brief upswing was why it was so surprising last month when she announced that she’d be heading off to rehab for a second time.
